People claim to be tired of the "Power of friendship" trope bc they more often than not severely underestimate how much a person's vulnerability and social upbringing can impact their points of view and actions, and specifically what happens when they are shown the opposite of them, or had to be put in a situation that would challenge it somehow.

Or how people will just not pay attention to a character's story or the theme of the narrative around them, so anything out of the "Basic" is put of no where 🙃

I will say, another reason people probably feel it’s “out of nowhere” is BECAUSE it’s queer.

Queerness doesn’t belong in shonen. It’s about cool hot dudes being the shit out of cool hot villains. Deku is a “baddass” now but was he when the first few episodes came out? The first season? The first book? No, of course he wasn’t. That was when Izuku was his most crybaby self, and most of all when he didn’t HAVE a pretty woman to kill the possibility of his queerness.

He was fatherless, he was androgynous, he had a suspicious relationship to his mean rival, why did he care so much about him?

And what’s especially interesting is to see the reactions to the subversions Horikoshi has been making for a very, very long time.

Bakugou is never beat, he’s befriended in a complex relationship between him and his childhood friend.

Izuku’s mentor allmight doesn’t die in some tragic way, he survives. I think people forget that allmight is a subversion of the dead mentor trope. But instead, allmight lives, weak as he is, after a fight that by every angle you look at he should have died.

Toga isn’t jealous of Ochako over Izuku, she’s in love with her. They denied that one along with her bisexuality for a while.

Izuku isn’t saved and brought back by his love interest, but rather his oldest friend at his lowest point.

Endeavor isn’t just “abusive dad” for the rest of the series that Shoto must overcome and “stick it to the man”, he actually has an atonement arc, one where he realizes his mistakes and his son is waiting to forgive him.

None of these subversions were out of nowhere. It was always clear that allmight would survive, bakugou would be befriended, toga was bisexual and in love with ochako, bakugou would save Izuku, and that endeavor wouldn’t stay the abusive figure he was forever.

So why is it that the queer subversions are “out of nowhere”?

Why are they suddenly “the power of friendship”?

HI!!! AUGGHHHJHH THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH T__T my art style is kinda simple imo so my process is pretty bare-bones ^^;; there's not rly much too it!! it also kinda changes depending on how uhhhh lazy im feeling in the moment HAHA

probably around half of my drawings are straight to line art bc they're rly just doodles or things i decide to draw without any planning (but also im kinda impatient so i try to skip the sketching step if i can LOL...). but if i DO have a specific pose in mind for a drawing, i'll start with a sort of mannequin sketch or loose pass, then depending on how messy it is, ill either do the lineart pass on the layer on top or duplicate the sketch and then clean it up.

and then my coloring process is not sophisticated at all i just create a new layer and then paint bucket tool away LMAOOOO

It's extremely uncommon for the brothers to come upon another enderbeing, and if they do, it's usually a distant relative or family friend they've seen growing up.

So when meeting one he's never seen before, he takes the first chance to introduce himself.

Not just out of the hope of becoming romantic partners, that's the last thing on his mind. He longs for that same-species connection outside of his brotherly knuckleheads.

Slender makes it his mission to get to know this female enderbeing better, and one thing always leads to another paired with his charming personality and gentleman-like mannerisms.

And of course, the family makes a huge deal about it, and constantly asks about her, and when they'll be able to meet her.

And in reality, Slender doesn't want to overwhelm her. It's not often a Slenderbeing family is blessed with such a large quantity of members.

This is the only chance he has to couple with a being of his own species, and he's nervous to mess anything up.

He'll put it off as long as possible, and even come up with ridiculous excuses to not invite her to his abode.

But this doesn't mean he won't pour himself into her.

He will spoil her, shower her, and fetch anything that she even hints at liking, as well as embrace her with a fantasy come alive that only romance-book lovers desire to dream of.

He makes she she wakes up and the first thing on her mind is how lucky they are to be with each other.

Fun fact I have never been actually acknowledged by an actor or voice actor for a character I like before, noticed MAYBE because Andy Poland mentioned he looks at the fanart channels in the official Jackbox server sometimes but a few of my friends have gotten direct acknowledgment from actors of characters in media we like before (and tbh its funny because usually its OUT OF NOWHERE and completely unexpected)

On that note istg if my “baby’s first acknowledgement from an actor/va of a character they like” moment is from Tom or Phil my brain will implode

Verily verily mixed feelings on these little toothpick skewer thingies

First like its great because like its literally a stick..that you put food on. Or like those burger keep straight things idk i dont have burgers often. They are so useful and good for environment

They are also made of balsa which is supposed to mean that they are tasteless and have a tight grain to avoid a rough texture (i took tech for gcse amd regret it. More in 1 second). But still sets off the tism because the texture just goes XCXXZXXZCCXZXXZ BAD

I these give me bad ememoreies of me doing my 50% of my gcse nea(non exam ASSessment) (haha im so funny) and i couldnt find a ruler to sketch the product design and used 5 of these tsped together. I was so far behind with my nea i hated it so muchhwas awful

"But we're a team!" said Aziraphale.

"You're on your own with this one," Crowley said and Aziraphale rolled his eyes.

"Fine, but you aren't leaving me here."

"Didn't plan on it," Crowley grinned wickedly as he sank down into a chair, mug grasped firmly in his hands. "Go on, I'll watch."

When Muriel arrived it seemed that Crowley's plan of sitting and watching would not go as planned. Immediately upon seeing the demon, Muriel perked up, their eyes lighting up like an excited puppy.

"Crowley I didn't know you'd be here!" they said excitedly.

And since Crowley was secretly fond of this particular angel, he couldn't help but smile back. "Hi, Muriel," he greeted.

They chatted aimlessly for quite some time, and Aziraphale began to notice that the duo barely noticed his presence. With a grin, he vanished to the back room settling in with his own mug of hot chocolate and a good book.

It took many hours for Crowley to notice Aziraphale's disappearance, as he and Muriel were able to entertain themselves with light reading and board games for quite some time.

Later, after Muriel had left, Crowley finally found Aziraphale with a book in hand, sipping what appeared to be a cup of tea.

"You did this on purpose," said Crowley, crossing his arms and looking down at the angel.

Aziraphale looked at his book smugly, a mischievous smile plastered onto his face. "I've no idea what you're talking about."

"Don't act so innocent. You planned this."

"Even if I did, it seems like you had fun didn't you?"

Caught, Crowley avoided eye contact, suddenly very interested in the floor.

"That's what I thought." Aziraphle rose from his chair, heading towards the pot on the stove. "Tea?"
