somebody needs to say it. back when splatoon came out i was super excited to see more of the worldbuilding because the game was full of peculiar character designs and i found myself thinking, wow, i CAN'T WAIT to see what splatoon's WILDLIFE is like, with all the sea creatures being terrestrial and with most previous land predators being extinct there's got to be some INSANELY COOL speculative biology bear-esque land sharks and monsters out there and I CANNOT WAIT! there's going to be Creatures we never would've even thought of. incredible evolutions of notable marine predators. marine creatures adapting to hunt in interesting ways because they need to be able to work with Land now. manta rays developing flight. smaller fish developing flight as well, but perhaps more akin to something like a hummingbird!? eels becoming burrowing ambush predators On Land. like 50 ft long moray eels. huge DRAGONS even maybe (not literal dragons, but you get the point). marine creatures adapting to the roles of land animals that preceded them

and every day we learn more that the standard of non-humanoid splatoon creature is Literally Just a Fish, but it knows how to Float in Air
