my xander review this episode

i won't rag on his vocal performance TOO hard cos he hasn't played xander in like. christ. five years? shit's crazy. and i definitely remember howard wang's learning curve with wakiya so i'll let him live. i do of course miss the over the top Bro voice we got from andrew francis but oh well. though i kinda wish his new voice actor made his voice a little deeper? maybe add a bit of texture too? he's kinda missing that rough and tumble charm which is unfortunate. but i am not fucking immune bro the scene of xander and valt talking about how long it's been fucking got me. like auuyughghuhghg and i'm getting that same feeling i get whenever wakiya comes back where you see the characters doing all their classic poses and stuff like xander always having his hands on his hips and his big laugh and that one smile he always does. like aauuughhjyugh oTL i definitely still find it funny how much they debuffed him too like. i can't entirely put my finger on why they did that. the characters talk about how Big he is and how he's a Monster but i will be so honest it kinda doesn't hit as hard when he's barely fucking big at all?! at least in comparison to how insanely buff they made him in turbo. and since most of the cast is relatively medium height xander isn't actually coming across as being that Big or Scary like

one of these is outrageously and comically big and one is a little awkwardly lanky. oh and another thing xander like specifically said ranzo's full name acknowledging that he's a kiyama and he didn't say anything about rantaro?? i was kind of hoping he would since this season has had pretty decent continuity but oh well i guess. if xander ever slaps ranzo across the room i'll count that as a reference. but anyway. i'm sooooooo happy to see him again all the same i've missed heem so dearly. my fucking boy. awauygh.
