Speaking of the meth show freaks, I've actually been meaning to ask: Does Tuco go to prison in Trent's canon? I kinda like the idea of a pining prison romance, I wonder how they'd handle it 🤔 I just know Tuco would be paranoid as fuck about someone messing with Trent while he's locked up D:

He does! However, he doesn't end up stabbing an inmate or assaulting a guard due to Trent's constant pleas/reminders for him to not do anything to get his sentence extended, so he only does six months.

Six months is still a long time, though. They miss each other horribly, despite visiting/having phone calls/exchanging letters as often as possible.

Trent doesn't even know what to do with himself, as his life has completely revolved around Tuco for about a year at this point. He does somewhat enjoy the freedom that comes with not having to be at Tuco's side the majority of the time, but he also feels very exposed and unprotected without him (as much as Trent is like a little purse dog to Tuco, Tuco is like an aggressive guard dog to Trent) and he feels directionless and kind of useless. Nacho gives him things to do to keep busy, but his unofficial "job" has been soothing and defusing Tuco for so long that that's what he's used to focusing his energy on.

Tuco is, of course, absolutely crawling the walls, both because he hates being locked up and because he despises not knowing what Trent's doing/who he's with/if he's safe at all times. His paranoia surrounding Trent cheating/running away/getting hurt/being killed gets kicked up to 11 while he's in prison, which negatively impacts his mental health pretty badly. By the time he gets out he's a wreck and needs Trent to be at his side 24/7.

The whole experience brings them closer together in the end, because it cements the fact that they're willing to do whatever it takes to stay together. Neither of them can imagine a life without the other.
