I have a few more questions. Captian Carter ended WWII? On both fronts or just the European? What year did she end the war? Were the atomic bombs never dropped on Japan? Did her going to the future just end the war? Did she disappear and everyone was like Oh well the war is over Germany surrenders? What events did not happen because Carter ended the war? Did the US (or Britain?) completely come out on top? Did this effect the cold war?
What about all the women who served in WWII? The WAC? WASP? WAVES? All the women who worked in factories while the men were overseas?
Did this effect the Baby Boom that happened immediately after the war? What were the 50s like if every woman was worshiping CC?
Tumblr media
omg, now Saint Margaret is responsible for the ENTIRETY of the feminist movement!!! what a gIRlbOss!!!1!!1!1!1!
When will the worshipping of this completely average white woman end?

I told myself I would ask whoever posted the next Agent Carter stuff on my dash a head cannon question.
It was you!
So, do you have any thoughts about Howards background, how Howard met Jarvis (I know we know some of the story, but it feels incomplete to me), and/or how Howard relates to the rest of the commandos that we dont usually see him have interactions with?
Sorry I left this gathering dust in my ask box!
So...generally speaking, I think the Howlies started off keeping their distance. They're in the middle of a war, what is an eccentric billionaire whose best hits include a dysfunctional flying car (and murder gas, and burning vest, etc.) doing in their bunker?
Bucky is the first to spend extended periods of time around Howard, purely by association. My headcanon is that Steve spends his time in Howard's lab (when he's not being pulled every which way, or when he's not busy looking at Peggy from afar like a lost puppy) both to escape the madness of the bunker and to test out the various Captain America Gears. So Bucky ends up spending a lot of time there too, and he likes to contribute ideas while never letting Howard live down his failed flying car demo.
Dugan and Gabe are friendly enough with Howard. They spend a little bit of time with Howard testing out new equipment, but they never got too close. In the Agent Carter one-shot we do see Dugan eventually becoming close enough with Howard to casually lounge at his pool. I guess some time after Steve's 'death' and the events of Agent Carter S1, Dugan hit up Howard to (a) tell him to please keep a closer eye on his inventions and keeping it in his pants jeez, and (b) check on Peggy. Their shared love for good bourbon is what gave them the opening to become better friends.
Morita and Dernier spend the most time with Howard in his lab. Morita is mostly there because he likes to tinker, and he sometimes compares notes with Howard, which is fun. But Dernier. He has a lot of thoughts about explosives and ordinances, and he will make sure Howard hears about them. And Howard also has a lot of ideas on why and why wouldn't they work, and he needs Dernier to understand that. Thing is...Howard doesn't speak French, and Dernier's English isn't the most fluent. It's not rare to hear loud arguments and angry French from the lab, and Howard and Dernier will never say they are friends, but these two get on like a house on fire, sometimes literally.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this (or when you feel up to it!), reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love!
Ooh fun! I'm gonna go with semi-recent fics from the last year or so (with one exception) because 230+ fics means I have a lot of faves and narrowing it down is a pain.
Enchanted
Steve starts making his way back towards the directions of the cars, wanting to greet her, only to stop dead when he realizes who her date is. Natasha has brought Tony with her. Tony of the pictures, of the stories, of Steve’s infatuated little heart even though he’s never met him in person.
I love writing celebrity aus and this one was particularly fun because I wrote something I don't normally do with celebrity!Steve and nonfamous!Tony. Plus I got to write Natasha and Tony besties, which is always a lot of fun, and got to include a shout-out to my childhood best friend (and I always enjoy when I can work in references to my own life).
Death by a Thousand Cuts
“Tony?” Pepper asks, and he can tell just by the look on her face that whatever she has to tell him, it isn’t good. “What?” he asks. She looks uncharacteristically hesitant. Pepper isn’t supposed to be hesitant. She’s supposed to be barge-in, guns-blazing, unapologetically confident. “The news leaked,” she says eventually.
And now the flip side! Pop star Tony currently owns my entire heart, and I love the idea of breaking up and making up but with the added complication of having to do it on the global stage. There's just something extra delicious about Steve and Tony having to work things out when they have all these people shouting on Twitter and TikTok about how they're better off on their own.
Dear Juliet
When Steve Rogers is given a chance to accompany his friends to Verona, Italy, he's expecting to spend a few days wandering through vineyards and probably seeing at least one Shakespeare performance (and if he's lucky, finding some inspiration for his next webcomic). He isn't expecting the handsome brown-eyed man who works with Juliet's Secretaries or the decades-old love letter that he finds behind a loose brick underneath Juliet's balcony or that the response he sends to Dame Margaret Carter will be answered, not by another letter, but by the sender herself showing up in Verona. He isn't expecting that he'll get caught up in a whirlwind adventure to help Peggy search for her lost love, the woman she left long ago, her beloved Maria.
My current baby! Dear Juliet is an idea that's been sitting in my to-be-written folder for literal years. It was one of the very first ideas that I had for this fandom, and I've been chomping at the bit to write it since 2018. It kept getting put off though, first because I was working on three separate long fics at the same time and then I got caught up with all these other long fics over the years, but after I finished up MRaMRN last year, I told myself that once I was done with my long fic break, I was going to write Dear Juliet. And now it's finally here!
Tied Together With a Smile
“Captain Rogers, this is my sub, Maria,” Howard managed through a strangled voice. “And my son—” “I’m Tony,” YouKnowWhoIAm said, boldly sticking his hand out for Steve to shake. He took it, automatically raising it to his lips to kiss, the way he’d been taught to greet unattached subs as a child. It had fallen out of fashion while Steve was in the ice, and he’d mostly trained himself out of the impulse, but he just couldn’t resist when he saw Tony.
Age difference! Social media AU! Dom/sub verse! Art by two of my favorite artists in this fandom! I feel like this fic has everything that I love, and I pretty regularly go back to reread it.
Marvels Unsolved
A Buzzfeed Unsolved AU starring Tony and Bucky as two ghost hunters searching for truth and Sam as their long-suffering cameraman
Here's my little exception to the five fics because this isn't a fic, it's a verse, but I just love it so much. It's such a rare pair (I think I've written a third of the fics for this pairing), and someone once told me that I wasted a great AU idea on this pairing, but this verse is easily one of my favorite things I've ever written. I'm planning on wrapping it up next year, but I will very much miss it once it's over (and hey, if you like this verse, keep an eye out in October for another installment and a hint of a greater plot!).

Carmina Mora - Artist Alright. But have you seen crow mama? Who the fuck wouldn't wanna hit that? Or have her hit you?

And for the last four. There's just no way to rank them against each other. The unholy, sinful, no good things he'd let these four men do to him? Yeah. He's a slut for them.
Michael Myers - Shape
Danny Johnson - Ghost Face Albert Wesker - Mastermind
Ji-Woon Hak - Trickster

Dom!Natasha Masterlist
all for you (ao3) - Anonymous bucky/natasha E, 16k
Summary: Bucky really, really likes the idea of his belly being big and getting even bigger. He also really likes the idea of being pregnant as well as being stuffed full of come, on his way to being pregnant after being bred. His dom, Natasha, can't actually do either of those things to him though. Which would be too bad... had they not found a creative way around it involving showers, shower hoses, and a hell of a lot of dirty talk.
At Last (ao3) - TeamIronMan steve/tony, clint/natasha, jane/thor, past tony/pepper E, 15k
Summary: ***Dom’s/Sub’s are rated from 1-10 based on their needs and care requirements***
Tony Stark was... Different.
Because of this he’s known for a long time he’d grow old alone. No Dom in the world would ever want him, and that was fine, he didn’t need one anyway.
Then the attack on New York happens. Tony gains the family he never knew he wanted, friends he never wants to lose, and a Dominant that won’t be chased away.
Seriously, Tony does everything possible but that annoying Captain America won’t leave him the hell alone!
Broken Underneath (ao3) - Eustacia Vye (eustaciavye) loki/natasha E, 23k
Summary: Loki might have had some plans for Natasha, but that didn't mean he didn't intend to have a little fun with her first. It was only too bad that she didn't figure that out until it was far too late.
Butterflies & Hurricanes (ao3) - Cristinuke clint/natasha E, 49k
Summary: He hasn't been the same since New York. In fact, she's never seen him like this, never this low. Or, the story of how Natasha became the outlet Clint needed.
coded (ao3) - HolyGrailOfSex wanda/nat, wanda/omc E, 12k
Summary: After Sokovia, alone and grieving, Wanda finds some solace in the world of the internet. She meets loads of new people online. One of which she ends up dating, despite knowing he’s twice her age.
When she decides to meet up with him one day, things take an unexpected turn when Natasha stops her.
Deserving (ao3) - MizDiablo clint/phil, bucky/steve/tony, bruce/natasha E, 25k
Summary: With Steve and Bucky finding a sub in Tony and Natasha finding Bruce, Clint is the only unbonded on the team. He is also the only sub. It’s okay, it’s nothing less than what he deserves.
Intimate services (ao3) - diner_drama darcy/peggy/natasha, steve/bucky E, 30k
Summary: Darcy Lewis was an up-and-coming successful young professional with an impressive list of accomplishments and a lot to offer to the corporate world.
She was also unemployed and living in her car, but it's important to see past such inconsequential details.
Peggy Carter and Natasha Romanoff were the world's most beautiful power couple, with big domme energy and an honest-to-God castle to live in, and they were looking for a personal assistant to perform some more... intimate duties. A gentlewoman's personal gentlewoman, if you will.
Darcy was pretty sure she'd died and gone to heaven, but heaven probably isn't anywhere near this gay.
May Mansion Reveals (ao3) - Mad_Muse_Musings phil/may/skye, leo/antoine, clint/phil/natasha, natasha/skye, clint/phil, may/jemma/skye
Summary: When the team moves into one of Tony Stark's extra houses, things get shaken up in a lot of lovely ways.
Pardon All My Precious Scars (ao3) - romanticallyinept clint/pietro E, 25k
Summary: It's the first time they've been alone, and the kid's on edge. His shoulders are set and his eyes are narrowed and he's got his arms crossed over that broad chest, but he's exuding cockiness, not confidence.
“My father says you are the best,” he says, looking Clint up and down. “I do not believe him.”
Clint snorts. “He also says you're a Dom,” he says, casually, and slides his hand into one of his gloves, securing the strap. “I'm not all that inclined to believe that, either.”
Pieces Form The Whole (ao3) - t0bemadeofglass loki/natasha E, 40k
Summary: Loki and Natasha decide to experiment with a few kinks they haven't gotten a chance to try yet.
Please Hold (ao3) - Laura Kaye (laurakaye) clint/phil/natasha E, 19k
Summary: Phil hasn’t seen Clint or Natasha in person for three weeks, and he’s got plans for how he and his lovers will be spending their mandatory 72-hour post-mission downtime. Unfortunately, SHIELD has other ideas.
Pocket Full of Reasons (ao3) - 2bestfriends rebecca/natasha E, 19k
Summary: It's all fun and games on an all-expense paid trip to Maui for spring break until she meets Steve's friend. Natasha is magnetic in a way Becca isn't used to, but she'll be damned if she's going to make it easy.
the one with natasha and wanda's agreement (ao3) - kenscarquin wanda/natasha E, 45k
Summary: “What kind of agreement,” she’s whispering her words now, Natasha’s mouth just inches from her own.
“Sex. Friends with benefits. No strings attached. That kind of thing,” Wanda’s knees weaken as Natasha speaks, the words sounding so out of place but at the same time, so fitting coming out of the red head’s mouth. “Are you interested?”
The Woman Who Tricked The Trickster (ao3) - TheFeistyRogue loki/natasha E, 31k
Summary: Loki becomes fascinated with the only woman who managed to trick him, and they begin an intricate game of cat and mouse that only gets more complicated the more they meet. Who is the prey, and who is the predator? And what happens when the lamb and the lion fall in love?
Starting from Natasha and Loki's conversation in the helicarrier, Loki watches Natasha through the collapse of SHIELD and battling Ultron, until he finally confronts her. They continue to meet and their relationship becomes increasingly complex, and Loki realises he may have a heart after all.
Under Her Thumb (ao3) - neon_jellyfish bruce/clint/natasha E, 3k
Summary: Dom!Natasha unwinds with her sub!boyfriends Clint and Bruce after a stressful week for the Avengers
you belong (to me) (ao3) - hermionesmydawg steve/bucky E, 29k
Summary: "Hold on." Bucky lifted a finger and backed out of the doorway, returning a moment later with his cell phone. He snapped a photo of Steve, typed a few words, and then returned to his apple. "What the hell were you doing at a sex club last night?"
"Not having sex, if that's what you're wondering." An alert sounded from Steve's nightstand - a new Snapchat message. He rolled his eyes and unlocked his phone. Sam was always sending stupid Snapchats and frankly, Steve couldn't figure that goddamn app out and cursed whoever created that piece of shit.
The chat wasn't from Sam this time, however. It was a picture of himself, not looking guilty at all, with the caption "when your buddy catches you looking at porn."

oh btw, letterboxd removed the entry for What If...? so my review got deleted but, here's the review if you're curious.
you are Captain Margaret Carter, the epitome of womanhood and science.
to quote my internet mother ashley:
what is it with Captain Carter? i don't understand. why are we so far up Captain Carter's ass? i can see out of her mouth. it is ridiculous... we need to stop.
but Captain Carter aside, what a fucking glow up S02 is.
now i was coming at this as somebody who thinks <i>What If...?</i> S01 is one of the worst things Marvel has ever made, it lands basically at the bottom of my MCU tierlist (haven't updated it yet but What If...? S02 would go right between Defenders and Iron Fist S01), i hate like the majority of it, i would say like i hate 90% of it. it's genuinely insufferable and looks ugly as shit and the writing sucks, it lacked imagination despite its literal premise, and took as few risks as possible. it's genuinely awful. but i thought similar things about Loki S01, and Loki S02 surprised me quite a lot so i was hoping that S02 was a redemption arc for What If...? as well and. turns out it was.
this was a lot of fun. nothing less than a monumental improvement over the first season, even if there are still parts of it i heavily dislike like all the references to the movies and just how much Marvel is up Peggy Carter's asshole. but besides that? genuinely incredible stuff. S02E06 is one of the greatest things Marvel has ever made, and what every episode of this show should have been, bold and imaginative. gave me chills multiple fucking times, got me to the point of crying over it. genuinely transcendental.
this season started out ROUGH but it really got much better as it went on and i think it averages out to one of the better things Marvel has made. it's certainly no Ms. Marvel or Hawkeye or She-Hulk or even WandaVision, but it's way better than Moon Knight and Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki S01. this season is perhaps a little too invested in characters from the Thor universe and in Captain Carter and Steve Rogers, but there's still a lot of fun to be had outside them. i think that's why S02E06 works as well as it does, it's actually taking advantage of this entire show's fucking premise and doing something fun and creative and is actually bold.
there's more thoughts here [this was just a link back to his post] you can go read on every episode that are much more detailed than i currently care to get into, so i'll just leave some brief thoughts here and my ratings for the episodes:
episode 1: 5/10, honestly nonsense premise, shit writing, boring plotting, looks ugly, wasted potential, is annoying and just isn't remotely interesting enough. it tries to go for a neo-noir or cyberpunk vibe but it just doesn't remotely come close to achieving anything serious or affecting. it's just so blah. doesn't remotely take advantage of its medium and it's weirdly shot like it's a fucking live-action movie when it's not, and it just is honestly really boring.
episode 2: 6/10, the episode's title is an outright lie, and the episode is just a build-up to doing a worse version of the climax of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. felt like they were trying to milk the Guardians property for all it was worth given the hype around Guardians Vol. 3 now that James Gunn has left Marvel and we know he will never write for these characters ever again.
episode 3: 8/10, still absolutely loathe all the stupid pointless voids in the dialogue that are just references to movies we've seen and mean nothing to the characters, but honestly kind of a fun episode. the basic fucking premise of this episode is just a stupid Hulk Hogan joke and a Die Hard reference and it's so ridiculous and gonzo that it's actually kind of fun and respectable, even if they make some characters really fucking boring (Justin Hammer, sweetie i'm so sorry) and have the fucking audacity to nonchalantly put Maria Hill back on my screen as if they didn't fucking massacre her in Secret Invasion.
episode 4: 6.5/10, this felt like a mashup of the episode they cut from the first season because of covid and also just a new episode they were already making and it kind of makes the episode feel pretty divided and uneven, and i still hate all of the references to the movies and just how imitative this is of Thor: Ragnarok, but it almost comes together cohesively because of how they write Gamora, and there are some fun sequences in it, like the racing stuff.
episode 5: 6.75/10, honestly, this opens with a sequence that is just the climax of The Avengers but with Peggy Carter in it instead of Steve Rogers, and then the plot of the episode is just Winter Soldier meets Black Widow, and honestly it kind of sucks but it kind of fucks too. had more fun with this than Winter Soldier, and this does its plot points better, had less fun with it than Black Widow, and Peggy Carter's presence definitely drags it down (the opening quote is from this episode), but it's got some fun action sequences that actually take advantage of the medium and a few neat things that make it a fun time for the most part.
episode 6: 9.8/10, honestly, it's not a number higher than 10 because the ending is kind of shit. like i honestly was going to give it a 15/10 like it's genuinely fucking incredible. could not believe i was watching something made by Marvel. it's kind of Marvel's Prey (2022). genuinely fucking incredible stuff like i was stunned how 85% of the episode was not in english and just let us breathe and live with these characters in their native language and how they weave their culture and vocals into the score and soundtrack itself, and just how much the protagonist rules, and that she gets to kill some fucking conquistadors. i wish the ending was her killing the queen of Spain but Marvel reminds you that it only holds liberal politics at best so the Indigenous Natives go to the queen of Spain and tell her they're going to make peace, right after killing a bunch of Spaniards and destroying their ship. it's fucking irritating. but the rest of the episode is still incredible and i love it.
episode 7: 7.25/10, even more Asgard shit and the plot is just Thor meets Shang-Chi which sucks given the literal fucking premise of the show and sucks even more so after how incredible last episode was, and the episode doesn't even understand the basic fucking emotional point to this making because it tries to portray Odin as this evil warmonger who abused Hela and then the conclusion of the climax is him being proven right because she's worth of her crown, like it's just a mess, and the emotional theme is kind of a paraphrase of an MLK quote lmfao, but there is interesting stuff here and Cate Blanchett makes it mostly fun. the politics of it are still shit and i hate them but it's fun enough.
episode 8: 8/10, the forced references drag this down quite a lot but the rest of it is wacky enough to work and feels like at least it's trying to take advantage of its premise. still so much fucking time taken up by Peggy Carter and it's clear that she's basically the protagonist of this show at this point, which is irritating, but fine, whatever. the dialogue and characters and the plot is fun enough to basically carry it and make it still interesting.
episode 9: 9/10, honestly just a pretty great finale. brings together both the first season and this season into something great, cohesively. kind of does Civil War better than Civil War, both the comic and the movie. it doesn't have the splash page still-frame imagery like a comic panel, but it does have the right energy for one of those comics where everybody is fighting everybody. and the ending genuinely feels like a bunch of kids playing with toys, in a fun way. the visuals get a little busy when everybody's fighting and it got a little hard to keep track of some characters but it was mostly pretty fun, and i enjoyed it both on a singular narrative level and as a satisfying conclusion to the season. it was just good.
season as a whole was a 7.75/10. genuinely a massive improvement over S01. there's just so much fun shit in here that feels like a gonzo comic run, and like it's actually taking advantage of the premise, at least when it's not recycling plots and imagery with slightly different characters. and tbf S01 had some interesting ideas but almost all of them were terrible and execution so it doesn't really matter bc it just wasn't fun or interesting to watch.
so excited to watch Echo now, and glad to be done with this, even though i had fun. Don't think I will ever be revisiting it (outside of S02E06) simply because i'm fucking tired of seeing Captain Carter. let her fucking rest. glad Haley Atwell keeps getting paid, but i'm tired of fucking seeing her. unless you're making Agent Carter S03 in which case bring her back and give me that third fucking season. anyway, onto Echo and hoping it's as good as Hawkeye. and soon onto Agatha All Along.
so, i just finished What If...? S02.
now i was coming at this as somebody who thinks What If...? S01 is one of the worst things Marvel has ever made, it lands at the bottom of my MCU tierlist (What If...? S02 would go right between Defenders and Iron Fist S01), i hate like the majority of it, i would say like i hate 90% of it. it's genuinely insufferable and looks ugly as shit and the writing sucks, it lacked imagination despite its literal premise, and took as few risks as possible. it's genuinely awful. but i thought similar things about Loki S01 and S02 surprised me quite a lot so i was hoping that S02 was a redemption arc for What If...? as well and. turns out it was. this was a lot of fun. nothing less than a monumental improvement over the first season, even if there are still parts of it I heavily dislike like all the references to the movies and just how much Marvel is up Peggy Carter's asshole. but besides that? genuinely incredible stuff. Single-word Requests: Open
Hello, lovelies! it's been a minute since my requests have been opened up again, and since classes are finished up for me, I thought this could be fun again. However, I wanted to make things a little easier on myself while adding a fun twist. I know similar things have been done, so know that this definitely isn't an entirely original idea.
I found an Inktober list for 2020 that was meant to be one illustration a week and wanted to use it for blurb/drubble/mini Oneshot requests.
All you gotta do is send me a number/word and a pairing and I'll try and see what kind of story I can come up with. But, if you get an idea for the plot yourself, you can definitely add that as well.

saw multiverse of madness last night | my thoughts
i'm going to put my non-spoiler thoughts above the read more! no worried friends!
so doctor strange is an asshole in every universe: confirmed
this movie made me care more about christine then the first one ever did
i did in fact say very loudly in the theater "holy shit" - more below read more
this movie isn't a 10/10 for me but it's a solid 7/10 & it's a DIFFERENT feeling marvel movie which i'm here for. i want marvel to branch out from the normal formula. even if it means we get 5/10 (*cough* eternals *cough*) or 7/10 (this film) because we finally get some VARIETY & we might get some fuckin amazing movies like Shang-Chi which was a solid 9/10 if not 10/10
okay spoilers below. read at own risk
i can already hear the wanda haters being like "see? she is the villain" & missing the whole point of her entire storyline. but somehow they still stan Loki, Bucky, etc. if you're one of those just go away cuz i'mma be honest
it was fun seeing wanda fuck everyone up. cause yeah. she's been through shit & where has everyone been to help her through it?
parents dead after growing up in a war-torn country which she is now forced to grow up in without them
brother dead
avengers broken apart by the accords & she's locked away in the raft
on the run
has to kill the man she loves & then watches thanos rip a hole in his head & then is snapped for 5 years
comes back to a lot of people dead or just gone
accidentally creates a false reality to cope & ends up having to erase her newly formed husband & children from existence
the avengers honestly needed a therapist on staff lmao. but ANYWAY
it was funny to see how she still is shit at lying. she could fabricate an entire reality but can't lie for shit. her vs the illuminati (we will get to them in a min) ICONIC. wanda maximoff deserves the title of the most powerful avenger/being cause DAMN
when i heard they were bringing in america chavez i was a little worried just cause i'm not a fan of a lot of her stuff in the comics. she's written poorly in my opinion but the MCU did her right. i loved her & Xochitl Gomez? we should def keep an eye on her. she's great
the horror aspect of this film is that variety i'm talking about. the jump scares that got me??? i jumped more during this movie than any recent horror film lmaoooo
i did in fact say very loudly in the theater "holy shit" when Mr. Fantastic was revealed & i am not ashamed of it
but also that entire line-up left me SHOOK
Anson Mount reprising his role from the Inhuman tv series
John Krasinski one of the best fan-casts actually be cast as Mr. Fantastic
Lashana Lynch??? Photon??? Maria Rambeau??? as CAPTAIN MARVEL???
Hayley Atwell - thank you for playing the live action Captain Carter
Sir Patrick Stewart dressed in a green suit and sitting in that iconic yellow hover chair while the '97 x-men theme played???
and yeah Chiwetel Ejiofor was there but like we knew that & he's like a known character that's been around or whatever
okay. but also those ULTRON bots? that indicates 2 possibilities
we got the regular MCU canon but this time Ultron WORKED to some extent aka Tony didn't completely fuck it up
a version Hank Pym's (the original ant-man) entire storyline was there. which *makes dying noise* Hank Pym not being a founding member of the avengers in the MCU is fine & i love Scott Lang but Ultron was such a key point of his (Hank's) story in the comics. turning him into Tony's problem was interesting but also like???
for ANOTHER THING - the cameos in that universe of Black Bolt & Professor X mean that in other universes Inhumans exist which means terrigan mists exist but also that X-men exist meaning the mutant gene exists??? all of which could somehow come bleeding into our universe or eventually come to the MCU
okay what are some other big things... oh yah
so Wanda destroyed the temple/shrine thing which held the original writings of the Darkhold which somehow destroyed every Darkhold in every universe. does that mean there was only one temple across all the multiverse? also Chthon might be pissed off about her destroying that temple or whatever & uh this could lead to the storyline of him using her body as a vessel on Earth. also for anyone who doesn't know Chthon is the literal God of Chaos in marvel lore... so like... yah.
alright lesbians
Charlize Theron is in the MCU now. it was only a matter of time but damn. did they have to make her a hetero???
so Charlize Theron is playing Clea & is from the Dark Dimension. she's like the sorcerer supreme of the Dark Dimension. idk all the details but in the comics she's Doctor Strange's like biggest love or whatever - big L for me cause i think Doctor Strange is a dickbag but whatever. i don't think they ever stay together in the comics. it's a spicy on-off relationship cause his true love is magic or whatever
so smaller things um
why was the makeup on zombie strange's eyes so bad? like you could tell where the mask started & his face ended near the eyes. that's yikes for marvel quality
the title feels misleading as they were really leaning on the multiverse aspect of the title. when in reality we traveled to like 2 different universes. that's not that like fantastical. people are going in with different expectations & YES i know it's a play on the mouth of madness but not everyone knows that
in the end though. i enjoyed myself -
except for the teen-girl next to me filming the whole movie on her phone who wouldn't shut-up or sit still. i hope she never sees another movie in theaters or gets caught recording movies on her phone.
good movie. not the best marvel movie. but still a good movie. 7/10

Ranking MCU Captain America figures
Before I begin, I want to clarify this is about my enjoyment of these characters and NOT who i think are the best morality or power wise. I specify because I think my first two entries will upset some people and I want to say, this list is NOT in order of how much I agree with these characters' values. I have a heavy favoritism towards theme and character interaction and that is where a lot of my enjoyment from media comes from. So, let's begin.
6. Captain America: CW, IW, and Endgame
Tumblr media
I'm separating Steve into two because around CW he starts making decisions that really frustrate me.
Now I do think there is a lot to like still! His conviction to his morals during the Accords and continuing arc about government distrust is great, his stand against Thanos in IW is amazing, he is a lot of fun to watch during the New York part of the time heist, and lifting Mjolnir was legit my best theater moment ever and i will NEVER forget it.
However, in CW he starts making some awful decisions. In CW, he kisses Sharon like, days after Peggy's funeral. While on it's own it's already kinda creepy, Endgame retroactively makes this even worse. It goes on to also have grave consequence because he and Sam asked Sharon to break the law for them and never followed through to help her, which was pretty awful of them. At least Sam tries to make it right in TFATWS, but since Steve left that wrong on Sharon never gets reconciled from him.
I also think that his decision to keep Bucky and Howard's history a secret from Tony was really, really stupid. While I side with him during the fight, the fact that Steve "doesn't like when his teammates withhold information" Rogers didn't tell Tony this then walked into a Winter Soldier facility with Bucky and Tony during the most strained time of their relationship was just begging for that conflict.
He is barely in IW and while his stand against Thanos is a great moment, his decision to not let Vision kill himself is very frustrating. "We don't trade lives" then he goes to Wakanda to let thousands of soldiers die while they try and get the stone out, really dude?
I don't think going back in time in Endgame was inherently a bad ending but things he does to make it happen really frustrates me. He shows no signs of mourning Bucky or Sam at all. And then for the sake of surprise for the audience, he never tells Sam what he's doing and that is so awful. Sam dedicates 4 years of his life helping Steve with a good portion of it being on the run. Sam was with Steve more during the present than ANYONE else. Then Steve just leaves without telling him and shows back up to drop a ton of responsibility on Sam that he didn't ask for. Now Sam is an amazing Cap but it's frustrating to see that a lot of TFATWS is fallout of Steve's bad decisions in these three movies.
5. Captain America: John Walker
Tumblr media
Now hold on, I hate this man. I think he does some awful things, so why is he above anyone else? Just because he isn't frustrating to me, he fits thematically and has good interactions with others in TFATWS.
His character really adds to the themes and discussions of white privilege, Supremacy, as well as how the US military treats their soldiers like shit, and I think he is an interesting character to watch as he starts out edging the line of evil and by the end of episode 4 crosses it. While I think Bucky was overall a bit too chummy with him in 6, I think it was all mostly in character for them. Sam and Bucky were up against 6 super soldiers and Batroc in a highly crowded city with lots of important people, it makes sense to me that they take his help in this scenario. They also never leave him alone which indicates distrust.
I also really like the moment where he drops the shield to help the truck. He is a shitty person but he is shown as a person who at least wants to do good, even though any challenge to that he goes off the rails. It is such a black and white scenario, help the truck of innocents, and I like that he does it. It also adds to the hatred of him as a person because it shows he clearly knows better but chooses to ignore it, which makes him even more despicable.
I think it is very important that a man like him bore the title of Captain America because it reminds us all that yes, it is very easy that a man like him represents America as it is and that we need to do better than him.
I like watching him and that's why he's above CW on Steve because he isn't making aggravatingly out of character decisions all of the time and he works very well within the themes of the show.
With me loving him in the context of TFATWS, in later appearances he does have a lot of potential to drop to last pretty easily, but as of now when he just is in that show, I appreciate his character a lot.
4. Red Guardian
Tumblr media
I kinda like this character and idk how to feel about it
He doesn't fit Black Widow very much so he is kinda low but I mean, he's just kinda fun. His story about Captain America and the USSR is pretty non-related to the others and rather undeveloped which is frustrating, and he does very little plot significant things. He leads Nat and Yelena to Melina and that's about it. He distracts Taskmaster for a while but he kinda is just getting tossed around until Melina shows up. He isn't very important.
But I do like what I see and do hope we see more of him. They never pretend he's a great person and I do appreciate that he gets called on it constantly. His knuckles having Karl Marx on them kills me and overall he's pretty humorous and fun to watch. He also has a few great moments thematically that I love. When he comforts Yelena after the dinner scene and sings her favorite song as a kid? So heartwarming. When he took Taskmaster's shield when fleeing the Red Room I laughed at his ridiculousness but it lead to a pretty great moment, when he throws the shield through the windshield without hesitation to save Melina. It's a great moment to show how he's letting go of his past and obsessions to be there for his family.
I hope we see more of him, his overall lack of importance and stereotypical behavior kinda holds him back but I see so much potential in him.
3. Agent Carter
Tumblr media
As of today she has been in exactly one 30 minute episode, but what I see I really like. Her laughter of surprise when she takes the tesseract is really endearing, her sword and muscles and height make my wlw heart patter, and I do like the difference in her relationship with Steve in this universe, where they both are of incredible capabilities but neither are given any respect for how they were born. We get that in TFA too but I really like that it is a constant theme in this iteration while in TFA it gets dropped a bit after Steve receives the serum.
There is very little of her so I can't really put her higher yet, but given more time she very well may rise up on this list but she had an excellent first showing.
2. Pre-CW Captain America: Steve Rogers
Tumblr media
This man is a joy.
He is such an endearing scrappy little guy in the beginning of TFA and I love his commitment to doing the right thing. He still very much acts like a guy who just gained 120 pounds of muscle during that movie and it's endearing. The way he grows into his own skin in TWS is amazing as we see him really step in to what he can accomplish physically as well as his authority and leadership.
His Whedonisms in the first two Avengers films kinda bug me, they treat him like an old man when he isn't. Biologically he's like, early 30's at most here. He grew up as a fighter in Brooklyn then served in the military, he wouldn't care if his teammates swear, but overall it's tolerable.
I LOVE this man's commitment to transparency. He struggles when allies are not transparent and he shows nothing but transparency and I love that that is a constant for him (which is why I separate him from CW on)
Everyone loves this guy and over 90% of criticisms I see for him come after AoU, and that's for good reason, this guy is so loveable.
1. Captain America: Sam Wilson
Tumblr media
He's so good, guys
I want to talk about Sam before the suit because he is amazing before it. He runs counseling for veterans, a profession very becoming of a superhero and it speaks to his incredible empathy and compassion that is on full display. I also think the fact that he dedicated 2 years to finding Bucky is not appreciated enough. Sure he was following Steve but he still spent 2 years trying to find Bucky, a person who tried to murder him. Yet he understands it isn't Bucky's fault and tries to help him anyway. I also really like that he is the first to speak out against the Accords. He doesn't wait for Steve or anyone else, he sees red flags and he is out and I really, really love that about him.
Then I love how long it takes for him to choose to become Cap and how much he contemplates it. He has to contemplate the legacy of Steve, if he wants to wear the symbol of this country, the pressures of being a black man as Cap, the legacy that John added to it, the pressures from Bucky and the pressures from Isaiah, and also his own legacy he carved for himself as the Falcon. It's a huge decision with a lot of weight and so many people pressuring him but he takes his time and chooses what is right for him, and I really love that about him. These other characters are all Caps from near the start but he transitions into one after years of knowing him as the Falcon and I love that he doesn't take this decision lightly.
Also as Cap he's just really cool. His decisions to not take the serum as well as try like hell to get Karli to step down speak to his humility and compassion. And while many describe his speech as bland it's still uniquely him. Yes the speech doesn't solve any problems but that isn't what he's doing, he's asking America and the world to get to actually solving them and that is an aspect of him we don't see much since Steve's propaganda days, his direct relation to the public.
Also his suit and wings are just awesome, I argue his action is the most fun to watch out of any of these characters.
Anyway yeah that's the list, I know people won't agree with me so let's try and keep discussion civil, alright?

MCU: 10 Ways WandaVision and Falcon & The Winter Soldier are the Same
So now we have 2 of Marvel's Phase 3.5 shows in the books, and both have been pretty great. In the 7 week wait for Loki though we'll have time to mull things over.
When watching the Falcon & Winter Soldier finale though, I started to notice that there were some patterns between it and Wandavision. While two completely different stories they did share some similar beats, so here's 10 I spotted and thus 10 to look out for when Loki comes around.
Spoilers for WandaVision and Falcon & The Winter Soldier, give it a watch before you give this a look
10 - Villains become Memes
Tumblr media
While one can contest that Zemo acts more as an antihero in The Falcon & the Winter Soldier, he still provides an antagonistic edge in the story. However, both he and Agatha became villains that had charisma to charm the audience, and their actions brought about multiple memes. On Agatha's side there was the wink, Agatha All Along and her in the fitness outfit, while with Zemo there was the 'it captures the experience', his iconic dancing and Turkish Delight. While not a story beat on the shows, the writers must've known that fans would gravitate to these characters to give them such content to use. Also add a hat tip to John Walker who got his own memes too with him about to embed the shield into a dude's chest, and Wanda herself for her nose scrunch being used as a meme alongside Thor's 'is it though?'.
9 - The Government aren't exactly helpful
Tumblr media
While the Government aren't entirely the enemy in the show, they don't do well to stay on our heroes' good side. In WandaVision, they enhance Wanda's grief in the fact that she can't even lay him to rest, SWORD instead deciding that her lover is government property and they are harvesting his 'organs' and vibranium skin as a resource to use for weapons. On Falcon & Winter Soldier, the US Government deliberately deceive Sam by having him hand over the shield to put in a museum, only to then take it out and give it to John Walker without even telling Sam or Bucky about it. In addition when they disavow Walker they try to reclaim the Shield - which, as the Contessa does reveal, isn't technically their property either. While Falcon & Winter Soldier delved deeper into the government's lack of help through the GDC subplot motivating the Flag Smashers, there were still similarities found with how SWORD - which is quite different to its comic version - antagonizes Wanda. In the end all this escalates because of them, and in the end neither of them get to keep the Vibranium.
8 - 'Good Person' is Bad Guy
Tumblr media
Although there's a more supernatural threat in both stories, the characters end up having their trust betrayed by people they believed to be decent. For WandaVision it is current Director of SWORD, Director Hayward, who appears adamant in silencing Wanda after using her as a means to power up White Vision as a programmable weapon. For Falcon & the Winter Soldier, it's Sharon Carter - descendant of Steve's beau who he also made out with - the discarded agent who gave up a lot for the heroes only to not get it in return, remaining enemy of the state and becoming the Power Broker. The shows can also have this reserved for 'Agnes' and John Walker but in the end people expected them to break bad from day 1. You could make a statement for Wanda since she looks to be an antagonist for Doctor Strange 2 though.
7 - The MCU add a little history
Tumblr media
Marvel has had a habit of changing Wanda's (and Pietro's) origin on a whim, the MCU deciding to source their powers on an Infinity Stone. Doing this however left a gap in the fact that Wanda is a Witch, which they cleaned up in WandaVision. Treading back on the Scarlet Witch being a mantle (though cutting her mother being a Scarlet Witch before her) as it is in the comics, they changed Wanda's powers from being latent and amplified by the stone rather than gifted to the stone itself. Falcon & Winter Soldier added to their history with the impactful Truth: Red, White and Black story, adding Isaiah Bradley into the MCU to further layer the conflict and tragedy Sam faces with being Captain America. Both are welcome additions to the MCU timeline, setting up for newer things to come in Phase 4 Movies.
6 - The hero wins the fight, but not the day
Tumblr media
Winning isn't always winning, as Wanda and Sam would discover upon the finale of their respective shows. Wanda defeats Agatha and Hayward is forced to face his crimes, but she has also come to terms with the face that the Hex must go, and in turn her family with it. While the Hex has freed all its residents, Wanda knows that she's not on anyone's good side either with the people she subconsciously enslaved. Sam gets it a little better, he's recognized himself as Captain America and given a patented 'Cap-speech', but he was unable to save Karli Morgenthau from being killed, someone who he was once so close to reaching and sympathized heavily with. Although the Super Soldier threat is neutralized, the Flag Smashers' ideals will live on to further radicalize itself, and its vision will further sow conflict and division.
5 - (Mostly) Bigger Roles for old MCU Side Characters
Tumblr media
Never one to shy past their crossovers, Wandavision and Falcon & the Winter Soldier both brought back side characters - some more obscure than others - from older films to gel into the plot. WandaVision brought back Darcy from the Thor franchise and Jimmy Woo from Ant Man & the Wasp to great comedic effect, fans already wanting a spin-off with them and possibly Monica - who may also count but technically not the same actress, the same can be said for 'Pietro' too. Falcon & the Winter Soldier stayed primarily in their lane of Captain America movies; with Batroc and Sharon both debuting in Winter Soldier and Dora Milaje's Ayo debuting in Civil War, while it was less comedic, the story was more interwoven with them since they all had ties to the main two characters.
4 - [Person] is obviously [Character]
Tumblr media
Possibly a bit of a narrative backdrop, or maybe years of MCU has clued us in on a plot twist a mile away, but both shows also were unable to hide well that Agnes from WandaVision and Sharon from Falcon & Winter Soldier were in fact Agatha Harkness and the Power Broker. It's not to say that knowing ruined the story, it just felt more of a 'when' rather than an 'if'. The main difference though is that Sharon managed to keep her villainy secret, and remains that way, while Agatha went too far in trying to take Wanda's power rather than help her with it and has now become stuck as Agnes instead.
3 - New Blood coming on the Hero Scene
Tumblr media
While the shows already did their job in setting up Wanda and Sam as big league heroes, they also looked a bit more in establishing new blood too. WandaVision established the potential for the twin Maximoff boys to grow into Wiccan and Speed - once Wanda finds a way to re-canonize them, Falcon & the Winter Soldier also made sure to introduce Elijah Bradley, Isaiah's grandson, which may also aid in establishing a Young Avengers team - what with Kate Bishop also soon to appear in Hawkeye. WandaVision also created the origin for Monica Rambeau, having her body altered by the Hex, which will likely be furthered in Captain Marvel 2, Falcon & the Winter Soldier also established John Walker as the US Agent to leave a potential for Thunderbolts, as well as introducing Joaquin Torres - opening the possibility to have a new Falcon. While not a bad thing to set up for the future, it is interesting that both shows had exactly 3 names that could become future heroes.
2 - 'Villain' character partly redeems themselves after a Grief-Fuelled Mistake
Tumblr media
Make no mistake, technically speaking Wanda is still a villain in WandaVision: she enslaved an entire town and suppressed them as side characters of a tv show. But the thing is that she didn't really intend to cause pain, it was an impulse action triggered by her grief. The same can be said for John Walker in Falcon & the Winter Soldier, he was already pressured by the standards being Captain America would entail and he was feeling the stress of a string of failures, a Dora Milaje humbling and a frosty reception from Steve's two close friends, juiced up on Super Soldier serum, and then his best friend just got killed because he didn't back him up, in a rage he killed a Flag Smasher with the shield - even though they were fleeing and not the one who killed Lemar, which he would lie about to Lemar's family. Despite this though, they managed to find some form of redemption, even if it was small. Wanda released the Hex and stopped Agatha from going haywire with her chaos magic, John gave up on his revenge seeking to save a truck from falling. Even though it doesn't entirely make up for what they did, it was at least a sign that they had not completely gone off the deep end...yet.
1 - Comic-Accurate Costumes
Tumblr media
Comic costumes are always a tough one because some of the older costumes were borderline atrocious. WandaVision at the very least managed to poke fun at it with them dressing up most of the Maximoff/Vision family in their comic-accurate costumes, Speed getting a few more nods in the finale alongside Wanda's revamped and quite on the money look. In Falcon & Winter Soldier, there was accurate costuming for John Walker's US Agent look and Sam's Captain America costume, not to mention Lemar's Battlestar outfit, Zemo's mask and Batroc's jumpsuit.
Overall, it's not a bad thing that they kept these story beats, but it may be worth trying to avoid some of these in later tv show plot points so that it doesn't appear repetitive and formulaic. These shows have been great, so let's keep that momentum going.

MCU feelings check...
I'd like to preface my selection with the fact that when I originally watched all these films I was not at my best and don't have a great memory of most of them (lol its mental illness innit) so I'm sure there will be changes to be made by the end of all this.
1. Your favourite MCU film
Captain America the First Avenger, 2011.
Tumblr media
I love this film, it my era, Steve and Bucky's friendship holds a great wad of emotion in my heart, and I just think its great fun until it isn't.
2. Your least favourite MCU film
Avengers Endgame, 2019.
Tumblr media
Look, I don't cope well with endings, and people leaving (and dying). And there is a lot of that in this film. I also don't care for some choices of endings. I think we all know which one specifically.
3. Your favourite MCU character
James Buchanan Barnes Jr.
Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes makes me feel many things, all at once. Beyond the way he makes my insides go funny, he tries to be a good friend, he hides secrets to make sure his friends are happy, he's got a snarky attitude, he reads books, he stomps about, he's got quite the dark side but we see him develop to try and be better even when it's hard.
4. Your least favourite MCU character
Human Hulk Hybrid, al la Endgame
Tumblr media
This version of Hulk unsettles me no end. I also feel like this is a cop out of an answer but I can't settle on my least favourite, as its not like I hate the Hulk. I just don't like his human face on Hulk body, and his easy going attitude. I think this one might change the most after the rewatch.
5. Are you Team Cap or Team Iron Man?
Team Cap, baby.
Tumblr media
There are times in my life where I see things as very black and white, and I won't budge on this, even if it's for the wrong reasons. Tony Stark needed to calm his tits, and handle the situation better. Also it should never have got to this point, better communication. A big old shout over some gin at avengers towers (possibly in matching onesies) where everything could have been put out in the open in a safe space and then a sensible discussion could have been had. Also also, I'm very much biased due to Tony's reaction to Bucky. Finally, I will not get over Tony locking Wanda in the compound, and making Vision enforce it, and then blaming Sam for Rhodey's injuries after Vision shot him out of the sky.
6. Who is the best MCU villain?
Right, my first answer is apparently not fair so here is my vanilla boring answer:
Thanos
Tumblr media
Because he ruined everything, and I don't really understand why, and he just made everything horrible.
However, my initial answer was:
Sharon Carter
Tumblr media
Sharon has been really fucked over by the Avengers and Co, and I know she's had her pardon now, but I enjoyed her little phone call at the end of TFATWS, and I look forward to seeing Sharon the Power Broker fuck shit up.
But apparently I can't use her as she hasn't done anything villainous yet...
7. Your favourite hero
Steve Rogers, Captain America
Tumblr media
I know this is where the shared brain diverts STRONGLY. I know Steve has some big flaws, but I do think he tries to do what is right, for the right reasons.
I do also want to give an honourable mention to Sam Wilson, although I don't think we're including the phase 4 shows yet?
8. Your favourite quote
I'm with you 'til the end of the line.
Tumblr media
*wails intensely*
Right. So. I'll refer you back to my lack of cognitive function for the entirely of the MCU, but I have watched the three captain america films numerous times over lockdown so I know them. I have very strong feelings regarding Steve and Bucky's friendship, to the point I have to close this app and occupy my mind on soft things at times (I'm most prominently looking at this post) and text Cassandra all my badly worded feelings. This probably isn't the best line, but it means so much, because of what links to it.
It's hard to single out just one quote, because there are much cheerier ones, or ones with much more value or worth, but I'm gonna stick with my immediate answer for now.
9. What is your favourite scene in the MCU?
Again I'm sneaking in two (although I've run out of gif space for both of them...)
After the bar fight, a drunk Rocket let's slip his emotions.

"Well, I didn't ask to get made!" This breaks me everytime. I'm glad they got called out on their bullshit. It's also such a shift in such a fun film (although the more I think on it the more I feel like maybe it has darker moments than I think I does, ah well so seen I guess.)

My other favourite scene is the extended fight scene between Team Cap and Team Iron Man in Captain America Civil War. I enjoy all the banter, I enjoy the running, I enjoy the little Sam and Bucky interactions, the introduction of Spidey, Steve then willing to kill a child with a truck, Natasha and Clint being besties (their interaction in this scene @cassandrafey does sort of remind me of our feelings on Steve. Quite different, but we can still be besties despite it.)
