one of the most appealing and compelling attributes (to me at least) of the d//ca is the way they're 1.) horrifically underqualified and ill-suited for the job they have to do, 2.) they're forced to do it anyway Or Else, and 3.) the job involves being the sole caretaker for impressionable and fragile toddlers and children
it's so funny in such a tragic way. it's essentially the "human"ized culmination of faz ent's business practices and moral standards. it's extremely ineffective and extremely dangerous but it's cheap and it technically works so here it stays... and that's so fucking interesting to me!!!
so it kind of boggles my mind that the popular opinion is that they're actually good with kids?
idk i just think that if you're going to engage with the d//ca as a character (you know, the character from the "criminal negligence that leads to children being killed" franchise) you need to accept that they've canonically hurt a lot of people and that they're also perpetuating the deadly cycle that enables them to do that. simply because they exist. because they are a robot owned by a company that values profit above lives.
they hurt children not because they actually want to! but because they were put into a position of power over those children, and it's a position that they're not, and probably never will be, capable of doing properly. they hurt children because they are literally in cahoots with a serial killer (who is also part of that deadly cycle, and who is just as reluctant to do this, and who was also forced into a position of power by forces beyond their control) who targets these children because they are the easiest group to target.
and if you're deliberately making the choice to ignore this then you're simply not engaging with the actual character anymore lol (not like that's stopped anyone though)
