They all have a lot to deal with. None of them feels really comfortable around Kiyoshi now that he's a diety and they know the truth about him and Jack and the Lab... But Jeb won't let him down. He's his best and oldest friend. So they start their morning with jogging to get their heads clear.

When they returned, Jeb showed Kiyoshi his room. There are still 3 free rooms left at the Crappy Home but Kiyoshi chose the smallest one... Jeb: "Are you sure?" Kiyoshi: "Yes, that's enough for me. I don't need that much anymore after all those years in the tree."

Kiyoshi only wanted the sleepping bag but Jeb insisted to decorate a bit. He also put the box with Kiyoshi's belongings here. And the dagger Jack made at the Artisan's Yard on Winterfest.

Jeb: "You share the bath with Saiwa and Jack but the rooftop is all yours." Kiyoshi: "Jeb - I don't deserve this after all the trouble I caused you." Jeb: "Please use it. We all need to heal and get over with what happened. Practice yoga and meditate here, hm?"

Jeb: "We take Other Jeb's message very serious. Saiwa might get hurt and we need to do anything to avoid this. This means you'll have to stay with us and you can't go back into the tree. Should you feel the urge to do this, tell me. I need you to promise me this, Kiyoshi." Kiyoshi: "I promise. I won't cause furter harm to any of you." They saw Ji Ho and Jack doing their practice to ease Jack's pain. Kiyoshi: "This rash and Jack's pain..." Jeb: "Yes. It's because he left you - his fated mate." Kiyoshi teared up. It's so hard for him to see Jack suffer - because of him: "Do you think..." Jeb: "Let him heal. It's not the time to try to get back together - if ever. Even if this would stop his pain. He went through a lot to get over you."

Jack noticed Ji Ho's restlessness: "Ji Ho..." Ji Ho: "Hm?" Jack: "You have a deeper connection to the Bond than Vlad, right?" Ji Ho: "Uhm - yes?" Jack: "And you feel the needs of the bond earlier and it affects you stronger, right?" Ji Ho: "Yes." Jack: "And you know that Vlad does not want you to suffer, hm? When you feel the Bond is hungry - don't hesitate. Just go over to him. There's no need to wait. It only makes it worse. You know that, do you?" Ji Ho: "I know..." Jack: "I will help you getting more comfortable around him. As soon as we settled in with Kiyoshi, we are going to have a date again, ok?" Ji Ho: "Ok ^^'"

And, as always...

Poor Vlad. He knows all this but he would never cross the line and touch Ji Ho on his own initiative. Never.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - A Lull in Late Winter

Winterfest snuck up on the save this year, and with the kitchen being out-of-commission while remodeling happens due to the fire, the day came and went very uneventfully. But Scarlett has been enjoying repainting and finding excuses to fix up other areas of the house 😆

That isn't to say the family didn't enjoy any of the Winterfest activities! They still opened presents and joined in the holiday spirit with each other.

And Audrey decided to spend her first Winterfest hitting a lighthearted milestone!

Sabrina's burnout isn't getting any better. Taking care of Juno is taking all their time and energy and any moment they're not caring for their son, they're catching up on sleep, stuffing their mouth with a quick meal, or taking a quick shower. It's caused them to lose their athletic trait and acquire a more lazy lifestyle outside of being a parent.

This also means that their time away from their relationship with Beau has them feeling concerned. Maybe they truly did jump too quickly into things with him... like Bernard. Like Gideon. In fact, maybe with everyone they've ever been with in some capacity... Have they always been this impulsive?

So it's a surprise when Marquise stops by the house. Sabrina has just put Juno down for a nap and hasn't even had the chance to change out of their pajamas, but they're too tired to care.

Marquise: Sabrina... you look exhausted.

Sabrina: Yeah, well, that's what you look like when you're caring for an infant by yourself.

Marquise takes the dig.

Marquise: I know. Things have been pretty crazy with my job, and moving into a new spot. I'm sorry, I should have checked in more.

Sabrina can't keep up their anger though. They break, but Marquise is there to console them.

Sabrina: It's been really hard... I'm so tired...

Marquise: I can only imagine, everyone's hands are full here with Juno and the twins.

Sabrina: But at least Robin has a partner to help them delegate tasks...

Marquise: You're right. I will come over more often, and Juno can take some trips to my house for some time now that I'm settled. Does that sound good?

Sabrina: ...Yeah. Thanks.

Marquise: No need to thank me, he's my son too. So, wanna tell me what's been going on?

So Sabrina updates Marquise on everything: Juno's milestones, quitting their job and deciding to start their own restaurant and their break with Beau.

Marquise: Wow. Okay, that's a lot. You really broke up with Beau?

Sabrina lets out an exasperated sigh.

Sabrina: Not break up, just taking a break.

Marquise: Okay, "break", well how are things going in that realm then?

Sabrina: I don't know... It's complicated. Just focusing on myself and Juno right now. I told him I wanted to take some time to really get myself together before I could really commit time to us. I just... I feel like I'm always screwing things up. Everything I touch, I destroy. And I don't want to do that to him. Or Juno. So I need to do this. It's rough, but I need to do this.

Marquise: Well I understand, but you definitely need a better balance. If you feel the break is needed, go for it, but don't focus so much on being perfect and only working. No wonder you feel awful. You need to get out for yourself too.

Sabrina: I don't even know what I enjoy anymore. Life's just... it's a lot.

Marquise: Okay, let's schedule a stay-over for Juno to come to my place for a couple of days. Maybe after he ages into a toddler if you're more comfortable with that. Then you can use that time to do whatever your heart desires. Even if it's just sleeping in, do whatever you want.

Sabrina: Okay, it's a deal.

We return to find Atreo sleeping soundly. *Eerie sloshing style noises*

Atreo: *jumps awake*  “What was that?”

Atreo: “AHH a MONSTER! Go away!”

Monster: “I wish I could little boy but the housing market is rough. I'm also going through an ugly divorce. Do you mind if I eat bits of your dead skin cells and hair? I’m starving.”

Atreo: "EW NO!"

*Has trauma bath*

Alejandro: “This is how you cook Acco. You handle your two knives simultaneously, chopping the watermelon with reckless abandon.”

Acco: “Wow!”

Alejandro: “And then you let the bowl of fruit salad slide down your arm, like this…”

Acco: “Teach me Papi!”

Brielle: “Show off."

Brielle comes home and receives amazing news; she has gotten promoted. She’s now a National Leader and all of her legacy goals have been completed, except for one! Brielle: “Woo I reached the top of my passionless, dead end job! I’m soaking in it, I have ARRIVED!”

Atreo: “Congrats on your promotion Mum. So my birthday is coming up and I was thinking…”

Brielle: “We’re not leaving Acco at home.”

Atreo: “Come on! It’s MY birthday, I should get to invite sims I actually like.”

Brielle: "He's your brother."

Atreo: "And?"

Brielle: “Atreo really hates Acco and I don’t know what to do about it. He’s the heir now, the battle is over. Your move.”

Alejandro: “We can't force anything. I mean Atreo's been calling me by my first name since he aged into a toddler. All we can hope for is a character arch."

In true Atherstone fashion, Acco brought Helmuth home from school and they’ve become best friends forever.

Helmuth: “And then when my teacher heard my name, she cried and hugged me, telling me to stay strong! I'm so changing my name!"

Acco: "Ooh let's come up with name ideas!"

Acco: “Dear diary, today I’ve become BFF’s with Helmuth. He's thinking of changing his name and we had a brainstorm session. He now wants to be known as Otto, after one of the cats on our lot.”

Atreo: "Another scout promotion for me! Making those garlic wreaths is paying off!"

Alejandro: “You can do this buddy. Draw those lines! You’re holding that crayon excellently.”

Atreo: “Thanks for the encouragement.” 

Acco: “And then the tooth fairy-”

Atreo: “Shut up Acco, you're distracting me! I’m busy wiring this motherboard into my school project.”

Otto: “MURDER! HELLP! MURDERRRRRRR!”

Kelsy: “What was that about? A knife through my neck? Seriously?!”

Alejandro: “I told you to move.”

Kelsy: “How am I still alive?”

Alejandro: “I’m a really good cook.”

Kelsy: "Then FEED ME!"

Brielle's using her telescope for the first time, not realising I have WW installed.

Brielle: “Hehe I wonder what my neighbours are up to-OMW! Close the curtains! That’s not even the bedroom!”

As Brielle averts her eyes in embarrassment, the snow falls and Winterfest begins!

In the early morning…

Helicopter pilot: “The prisoner is loose and is throwing glitter and glue into my eyes! Where did she even get it from- she just jumped out- mayday, mayday, helicopter is going down-”

***Cool and dramatic explosion***

Keahola: “Must. Heal. From. Third Degree. Burns. And. Broken. Bones. Must. Be.... Nanny!”

*smoke and fire clears*

Keohola: “Hey that worked! My immense passion has healed my injuries. Great. I’m coming Atherstone boys. Nanny is back!”

Winterfest

I woke up quite early on Winterfest morning, so there is time to do face care routine before opening the gifts

Hey, everyone! How's it going?

Long time, right? I know Yuri finally had the chance to record something last week, and I figured I'd better grab the opportunity too, while I have a spare minute.

I guess Yuri already mentioned that Seiji and I were in Nagano on the weekend for a competition. Not to brag or anything, but guess who absolutely crushed it? Spoiler alert: it was me and Elsa. That’s the name of my snowboard, if anyone doesn’t recall. Actually, Seiji also totally rocked this competition. He competes in freestyle events, and he got silver in the half-pipe and bronze in slopestyle. As for me, my events are the alpine ones. You're currently looking at a parallel giant slalom gold medalist right here.

It's crazy to think that Seiji and I could both qualify for the All-Japan championship this year. My Olympic dreams may be over, but at least I can aim for the FIS World Championship next year, and it would be awesome if my friend made it into the competition alongside me.

In case you're wondering, the World Championship is only held every second year, and they move it around to different countries each time. Next year it’s going to be in Switzerland.

I've been in the World Championship twice, and did absolutely horrible both times. Like, I didn't even place in the top ten of any of my events. This time, though? I've got a good feeling I'm going to make it in again, and that I'm going to be awesome.

Before I get to that point, there are more competitions to get through. Right after Winterfest, there's going to be an amateur competition here in Mt. Komorebi, which Seiji and I are thinking of entering just for fun. Then, in the middle of January, we have a qualifier for All-Japan, and that's here on Yukimatsu as well. I'm super excited for that one, because Yuri promised he'll be there to watch. He couldn't come with us to Nagano on the weekend because he had a bunch of important commitments, which I understand. It was a little disappointing that he wasn't there, but at least he'll get to see me do my thing here in January. You didn't hear me say this, but I might show off for him a little.

Anyway, I could talk about snowboarding literally all day, so I guess I'd better use some self-restraint and tell you about the rest of the stuff that happened over the past week or so since Yuri's update.

It'll soon be Winterfest!

Winterfest is my favourite holiday ever. We got our tree yesterday, and last night, Yuri and I went to the city for his work Winterfest party.

He looked so cute in his holiday vest, but then again, I may be biased. I think he looks cute in everything. He told me that I had to dress up too, which I actually didn't mind. I recently got my hair done, because Yuri said I was starting to look like a sheepdog, and the results of my salon adventure were very good, even if I say so myself. With my new hairdo and the new outfit Yuri helped me pick out, I'm pretty sure I made a big impression at the party.

Yuri got his hair done too. I think his new look suits him. Everyone says we both look more mature, which is kind of funny to me. Maybe Yuri is more mature. I don't think I am, but if my appearance gives that impression, I'm happy to go with it.

This morning, we put on our holiday sweaters and decorated our Winterfest tree. If it ever stops snowing up here, Seiji and Taka are going to come after work and help me put some lights on the outside of the house. The weather's better in the valley, so tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to go help them with theirs.

Yuri said he could help me put the lights up, but I don't like the idea of him doing all that climbing. Going up and down a ladder multiple times might be too much for him. Health-wise, he hasn't been exceptionally sick, but he's been getting tired really fast lately and he's starting to lose weight again, and that worries me a lot. I told him I'd be more comfortable if he stayed on the ground.

To my surprise, he eventually agreed. He says he thinks we should invite Fox over when Taka and Seiji come to do the lights, so he'll have someone to keep him company indoors while we're outside beautifying the place. Then, everyone can stay for dinner.

I like this idea, and there's nothing like a good challenge in the kitchen. I need to plan a meal that both Yuri and Fox can eat, and that'll also be appealing to everyone else.

I've got to say, I'm kind of surprised that Yuri and Fox have hit it off so well. Yuri doesn't make friends easily. It's not that he's antisocial or anything, but he has a really hard time trusting new people even a little bit. Fox seems like a friendly guy, though, and he's got this sort of innocence about him that you don't usually see in adults. It's like he hardly knows anything about the world around him, even though he's nearly twenty-six years old. I guess maybe that makes Yuri feel safer around him than around most people.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of people Yuri has taken an instant liking to, I should mention that we had a video chat with Robert and Kim MacAllister this evening. Remember them? They're my mom's neighbours across the street; the couple that moved into the former vampire house which is now a haunted house, thanks to their ghost, Sachiko.

If you don't remember, Robert is a Canadian and his wife Kimiko is Japanese. They've been living in Willow Creek for a really long time, but now that they're retired, they want to move back here to Mt. Komorebi, which is Kim's hometown. Yuri and I met them when we were staying with my mom back in late October and early November, and they told us all about their plan to sell the house and move. They also told us about Sachiko, and how they accidentally brought her to Canada in an antique vase they bought in Senbamachi about four years ago.

The more Yuri and I talked about it, the more we started to seriously consider our future plans. It was Yuri who mentioned that we should try to buy the house when it officially went up for sale.

At first, I could hardly believe he was actually suggesting that we should leave here and settle in Willow Creek. I mean, there's nothing that'd make me happier than going home to stay, but not at the cost of uprooting Yuri from everything he's ever known. I know how hard that is. I did it myself, in order to come here to be with him, and sometimes the sense of being so far from everything that's familiar is overwhelming.

Yuri says he doesn't feel like he'll be giving up as much as I did. There's not as much tying him to Mt. Komorebi as there is tying me to Willow Creek, and he says, above everything, he wants me to be happy. Going home would definitely do that, but I'm concerned that a move to a whole new country might be too drastic a change for him. My mom says I have to trust him to know how much he can handle, and I know she's right, but that's not going to stop me from being worried.

The other big hurdle for us right now is the money. With Yuri's monthly allowance from his trust fund, we're certain we can make mortgage payments even if we don't manage to find jobs straight away when we get there. But, sadly, we came to the conclusion that to be able to afford a down payment, we'd have to forego our planned trip to Selvadorada and use the cash we'd saved for that to make part of our down payment instead. I don't think Yuri is overly disappointed about cancelling our Selvadoradan adventure, but I am. I have to keep reminding myself that I can't have the proverbial cake and eat it too, and our future is more than just two weeks in the rainforest.

As for the house itself, while we were there visiting in the autumn, Robert and Kim gave us a tour. Yuri immediately fell in love with it. My favourite part is the heated indoor pool, but I also like the blend of Japanese and Western influences in the design. It's really perfect for me and Yuri, honestly.

I was really hoping to see the ghost when we were there, but unfortunately, we didn't see her. Yuri thought I was being silly. He doesn't believe in ghosts. Or at least he didn't before today.

Yeah, you heard that correctly. I now have absolute proof that Sachiko is real and that ghosts exist.

We were chatting about this and that, and the MacAllisters were describing some of the renovations they'd done to get the house ready to put on the market. Kim was about to pick up her laptop and show us the updates they'd done in the kitchen when I noticed a weird light suddenly appearing behind Robert's chair. After about half a second, the light sort of solidified, if that makes sense, and then I saw the shape of a young woman in a kimono.

Kim must've noticed a change in my expression or something, because she settled her hands back onto the tabletop and asked, "Victor, is everything okay?"

For my part, I was pointing at the computer and no doubt gaping like an idiot. I turned to my husband. "Holy cowplants! Yuri, do you see that?"

"See what?" he asked.

"That!" I gestured with my hand at my computer. “It’s… I think it’s the ghost!"

Yuri leaned forward and peered at the screen. "Is that...?"

Sachiko was waving at us, and I was freaking out. Like, utterly losing it with incredulity. I didn’t know ghosts would even show up on camera, much less that they’d know about stuff like FaceTime. Yet, somehow, there she was, as large as life. Or afterlife.

Robert turned slightly to glance over his shoulder. Obviously he’s used to her, because he barely reacted to her presence at all, and said simply, "You could've let us introduce you properly, Sachiko-chan."

The ghost laughed, and then I swear I heard her say, "This way is more fun."

"She's impossible," Robert told us. "Loves getting up to mischief, this one. I think she wants to see all the potential new owners, to make sure she approves."

"Knowing her, she'd likely haunt the new owners if she didn't approve," Kim said. "Wouldn't you, Sachiko-chan?"

Sachiko distinctly nodded, and said, "But, I like these two. The little one is cute."

Beside me, Yuri was blushing furiously. I'm not sure he was impressed by the fact that a ghost thinks he's cute. Personally, I thought it was cute that she thinks he’s cute. Clearly, she has good taste.

"You're about seventy years too old for him," Robert told her. "Besides, those boys are married."

"To each other?" she inquired.

"Yes."

She pretended to pout for a second, but then seemed to brighten again and asked, “Do they have any cute friends?"

Robert laughed out loud. "What did I tell you, boys? Impossible."

In response to that, the ghost only giggled, and then vanished just as suddenly as she'd appeared.

I'm telling you guys, if I didn't already want this house, I one hundred percent want it now. What could be more awesome than living with a cheeky, playful ghost?

Of course, now the trick will be to convince Yuri.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Dips

Early in the morning (seriously, like, 5 a.m.) Sigrid wakes and realizes Robin's nowhere to be found. Confused, she gets out of bed and hears the banging of a hammer outside, so she follows the sound to the backyard. Sure enough, there he is, back to work on the treehouse.

Sigrid: Honey? What are you doing out here so early?

Robin: Felt energized and decided to get an early morning start on things. I really want to make a lot of progress on the treehouse today!

Sigrid stifles back a yawn, walking closer to him.

Sigrid: That's sweet of you babe, but there's no rush to finish. The girls won't be able to use it for some time still. Come on, let's go back to bed.

Robin: Nah, I'm going to stay out here. Don't worry, I'll stop when I get tired. You should get some more sleep. Alma won't wake for another 2 hours or so probably.

Sigrid: Robin-

Robin: -I'm fine, Sig. Just wanna work on this.

Sigrid sighs.

Sigrid: Alright. Well, good luck.

Robin: Thanks, babe.

Sigrid didn't immediately go back to bed. Instead, she had a late night (morning?) meal and let herself feel the emotions she was feeling. She's unsure why, but something feels like it's suddenly shifted between her and Robin and she can't pinpoint why. He seems oddly distant to her for the first time in their relationship.

All of this coming after their heart-to-heart on Winterfest Eve, a great Winterfest, and a fun day trip to the beach seems left field. Why has everything seemed to have shifted so extremely so quickly and with no warning?

In the entirety of their relationship, Sigrid has never felt insecure about her relationship with Robin at its core. Sure, she's had her share of fears within it, like when she struggled to accept the pregnancy, but it wasn't because of not wanting to be with Robin. Robin has always felt like a secure aspect of her life, even when everything else seemed to be crumbling around her. Now the foundation of herself is being shaken, and she's not sure where this will go. Does Robin feel this too?

As the sun rose upon the new day, Robin did make some great progress on the treehouse. He stuck to his guns and focused himself on the project for a few hours in the early morning before taking a break. He felt very accomplished and on top of the world!

Since the girls aren't up just yet and he has a little more free time, Robin decides to get a little workout time in which has him feeling even more in control of his mood and attitude!

Meanwhile, Sigrid had woken up after sleeping a little while longer and was discovered by Scarlett moping on the couch. Of course, the family matriarch came over to address this.

Scarlett: Someone's looking a little down today. Wanna talk about it?

Sigrid: Oh... uh... Well, it's just...

Sigrid takes a deep breath.

Sigrid: Robin seems off all of a sudden and I don't know why. I mean, we've been doing so well, but something's shifted and I can't put my finger on it. Maybe he's getting tired of me.

Scarlett: Wha- of course that's not true Sigrid! Robin loves you so much.

Sigrid: I don't know, something's changed. Maybe it's me? I mean, I'm not the same as I was before the girls. My body's changed and I'm getting older, and we've been together for so long-

Scarlett: -I'm going to stop you right there. Yes, you have changed a lot since the young teenager you were when you first started dating Robin, but he's changed a lot too. He's matured into a wonderful father and devoted partner. Robin will sing your praises in any situation he can. You're sewn into the fabric of this family like you have always been here, and we all see you in that way. Now your relationship has been pretty smooth sailing the entire time you've been together, but you should always expect there to be dips. They come with the territory of loving others, they're normal, and they're something you should take as a learning lesson rather than a sign of impending doom.

Sigrid: You're right. It's just... hard. So many people in my life have gone and I've had to navigate things on my own without a lot of support. Having Robin has been the one thing that felt secure. I guess I'm just worried that we'll start to grow apart and resent each other.

Scarlett: Sigrid, I can't speak into the future and declare where your life will go for certain, but I am certain that Robin would do anything for you and those girls. He knows your struggles and just wants to be the best he can be for all three of you. So things have taken a little bit of a dip, that's normal. You two are your own sims with your own needs. Sometimes they can't be fulfilled by the other and we have to seek them elsewhere or with ourselves. Allow him this time and do something that fulfills you as well. Scarlett: Anything for you hun! Family sticks together through it all. You can always come to me whenever you need to. Now, focus on the rest of the day, it's New Year's Eve and it's the perfect time to consider self-improvement. I think we all need to focus inward right now and decide what we're looking to improve in our lives.

Sigrid: You're right. I think it's time I make some changes. Switch things up.

Scarlett: Atta girl! Now go get dressed honey. The girls will be up shortly.
