Angstgiving 2024
Angsty prompts were specifically requested in our survey, so here they are. Since September is smutty and October is fluffy, I decided that November will be angsty. Special shout out to @dcbbw for coming up with the name for the event.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This event will run for the entire month of November 2024.
The Rules:
Open to all choices fandoms. All forms of creative expression are accepted: Fics, artwork, edits, text fics, etc.
Deadline is November 30th, 2024 11:59 CST.
To ensure you get reblogged and added to the master list, make sure to do the following:
Tag @choicesprompts
hashtag #choicesprompts and #angstgiving2024
Don't forget to tell us which prompt you're using!
Prompts don't have to be done in order or used on any particular day. Pick and choose as you like, and submit whenever. You may combine prompts. You may have more than one submission per prompt if you like.
That's it! Go forth, create and be great!
The Prompts:
I regret everything
How can you not love me anymore?
Please don’t leave
This is all my fault
Watching the ex you still love fall for someone else
Betrayal
Finding out you’re the “other person”
The person you love was tortured/killed to get to you
Helping the person you love fix their relationship with someone else
What could have been
What used to be
A funeral
Sacrifice
Let him/her think I’m the bad guy
I can’t go back there
I won’t let you hurt him/her
I’m not coming back
I’ll wait forever
Did you ever love me at all?
Everything is always just out of reach
I can never make it right, but this is a start….
Trapped by my own lies
This can’t be happening again
You have to believe me
We’re going to die here. I’m sorry I drug you into this.
I love you, but we can never be together
I see your face everywhere, but you’re not really there
I made a mistake. I want you back.
I risked everything and lost
A secret I can never tell.

ANNUAL WRITING SELF EVALUATION 2023
List of works published this year:
Wanted: Dog Walker // Louis needs a dog walker. / Harry answers the ad. A Social Construct // Five times Harry and Louis try to lose their virginity and one time they finally do.
Tongue Tied // Louis’ new bestie placed a hand on his shoulder; he turned with a sway and looked into his blue eyes. ”What do you wish?” / The world spun for a moment, and Louis shrugged. It was easy. The only thing he wanted. “I wish that I could tell Harry that I love him, instead of getting all tongue tied and chickening out.” / The Irishman winked. “You never know, your wish may just come true.” / “From your lips to God’s ears, mate.” He gave the man a hug. “I gotta go before my Uber leaves me.” / He stumbled to the door, and that was the last thing he remembered from the night. ‘tis the damn season // Harry returns to her small hometown over the holiday season and starts to think about the road not taken.
Work you are most proud of (and why): ‘tis the damn season because I have always said that there was absolutely no way I could write an advent fic day by day. And yet, when Nov 30th came around and I only had two chapters, my fomo won over my fear of failure and I thought I’d give it a try, because the worst that would happen is that I wouldn’t finish it, which would’ve been fine! But then with the help of everyone who read along, I actually did it!
A favorite excerpt of your writing: unlike most years, when I quickly scrolled through my works, nothing specific jumped out, so I’ll just say that I really liked how ch 6 rolled into ch 7 in ‘tis the damn season!
Share or describe a favorite review you received: literally every single one.
A time when writing was really, really hard: oh boy. Okay. so if you go back and read my 2022 recap, and 2021, you’ll see that writing has consistently been hard for me for a few years. So, this year I told myself not to worry about it, that I could not write a single thing and not feel bad about it. I didn’t do a ton of writing this year, but having the internal pressure off sure helped. Even though I really miss the way it used to be.
A scene or character you wrote that surprised you: I’ll say Zayn in ‘tis the damn season, because I didn’t have a role for her when I started, and I really liked her as minor threat slash Louis’ bff and sometimes hookup. I want someone to write a story in her pov. lmaoooo How did you grow as a writer this year: I really tried to get rid of my perfectionist tendencies and tried to write without putting pressure on myself.
How do you hope to grow next year: i dont even know, tbh. I’ll be very happy if I match my 2023 fic count.
Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc): I adore everything that @disgruntledkittenface put out this year. The way she keeps pushing herself is really inspiring.
Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year: ummm, I guess the ‘moving back home thing’... idk. Nothing i wrote this year hit particularly close to home.
Any new wisdom you can share with other writers: i love you. please keep going!
Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year: what I would give to be able to write the next installment of Swallow My Words. Thank you so much to @kingsofeverything @allwaswell16 @lululawrence and @haztobegood for tagging me! @phdmama want to join in the fun? @disgruntledkittenface did i miss yours? anyone else??? (also, here’re my responses from 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022)

LT2 masterpost
If it was up to me, we would get an autumn or winter EP. Since it’s not up to me at all, here, enjoy this post with everything we know so far of LT2, which is to say, not much at all. Everything here is hypothetical. I’ll be updating every time I see something relevant. A little disclaimer that while this is a masterpost (kinda), it could be read as discourse (duh, it’s also a theory), AND it’s also by me, and you shouldn’t expect me to be serious at this point.
Due to me restraining myself, there’s no reference to any of the times he’s mentioned his guitar skills and him improving but I hope you know I cried every single time.
I’m also linking my old pinned here. It was written before AFHF and around the free merch thing that didn’t lead to much, but I still think I made some good points.
Possible tracks:
Copy of a Copy of a Copy
Change
Faith in the future??
369??
Possible names:
369
Faith in the future
When is the album coming out?
Your guess is as good as mine
Friday 28th of January 2022. Almost two years after Walls. It’s a Friday. It’s a 28th. What else can I say?
Here you can find @want-to-be-loved timelines for every month.
Here you can find @berlinini’s timeline of what Louis has been up to this year (2021).
The rest is under the cut. And here you can find a PDF version where Tumblr can't tell me how many pictures I can add.
2020
He said back on May 2th 2020 he wasn’t writing anything new yet.
Tumblr media
(x)(x)(x)
Interestingly enough, he’s said many times after that that the album’s not ready cause he has no new experiences to drawn from. I won’t call him out because he does it himself.
May 4th. He liked a tweet from DMA’s Johnny Took saying they had to go write together again. Louis has been credited as an influence for them and (kind of) participated in their previous record, so I’m assuming he meant for their music and not his, but you never know.
Nothing(literally nothing??? how did we survive) until 11th of July. We all know what happened that day. We all celebrated it. Nonetheless, that’s not what I’m talking about here.
(x) So, by the beginning of July 2020 he was working on concepts and ideas for the new album. That was fifteen months ago. I know perfection takes time but…
Brief summary of important things that happened from then until the next mention of new music:
Louis left Syco!!!! 10 days later he rescheduled the tour for the first time. He followed Matt Vines on Twitter, probably so we could publicly shame him into doing something. Also, the 10thanniversary. He followed more people I wish he hadn’t.
Then more nothing until September. Not even a single tweet. The first merch drop was on the 28th of August but he just RT’ed the tweet. He first mentioned Free my Meal on the 25th of September. Then on October 1st Walls hit #1 on a lot of countries and Louis was incredibly happy and excited about it ^^
And then, that same day, October 1st, 2020, he dropped this bomb:
Tumblr media
(x)
He also said it was too soon to be sharing new lyrics with us (x)
And, obviously, this tweet which is actually what made me start this whole post. I would hope you know mate.
Tumblr media
(x)
He also told us he was cooking "banger after banger" and that he was incorporating more social themes into his music (x)(x) (I believe any social issue is a political issue but that’s not the point rn).
COPY OF A COPY OF A COPY?!?!
These next paragraphs are brought to you by my mind not remembering things and me not having any links. I’m assuming COACOAC came from those writing sessions that supposedly happened in October. Or in LA but I have no idea if he actually was in LA at any point other than a Daily Mail article putting him there on December which would have been too late, but I do remember that someone said he was in the studio in LA last autumn???? A rumor. Maybe. IDK. Did I mention already all of this is very hypothetical?? Well, this is it. I can’t even remember if this was October or November or what. So, take this with a grain of salt.
I’m also… taking the liberty to assume, if you must, that Copy wasn’t meant to be a Walls reject because it sounds more mature and darker and it has a vastly different tone that Walls songs. I know he’s said that song probably isn’t getting into the album, but I want to have faith (in the future) that I’m getting a studio version. (But also, Louis, if you’re reading this, first of all GET OUT OF MY BLOG second of all, please don’t ever feel pressured again to add a song to the album because we have already heard it before. It’s your art and it should always be under your own terms).
So yeah, I believe that Copy is either one of those four songs (then imagine the other three??!!) or was written around the 1st of October date.
---End of the Intermission---
Then not much important (other than sharing more about Marcus Rashford fight against food poverty and the 2nd merch drop) until he announced the livestream on the 24th of November. (x)
It wasn’t until a few days before the livestream date we even thought again about new music (jk, I know we’re always thinking about new Louis’ music). So, December 9th/10th, 2020. Nine months ago. We got our first taste of new music!
He made sure we knew Copy of a Copy of a Copy isn't a cover! (x) (x)
Tumblr media
(x)
Ok, so that’s it for 2020. (I feel like I’m missing something from September 17th because tweet was deleted but maybe he was still talking about cucumbers. We might never know. Unless I understand how Tumblr tags work). Expected, cause Walls was released in 2020. We needed to let it sit for a while.
2021
Another Summary: Louis third tweet of the year was telling the UK government off. So was the fifth. What a good beginning. On the 26th of January, he said he prefers pancakes over waffles. I hope he meant pancakes other than his own. More importantly, he tweeted the infamous “you lot read into things too much”. Don’t get me started, Tomlinson. Don’t. Then the 31st came around and Walls was one. He tweeted this. How wise. And Project Defenceless happened!!
15th of February!! Who cares about Valentine Day when the next day we got this? ♥
Tumblr media
(x)
Tumblr media
(x)
So…AN EP?? AN EP?? PLEASE RELEASE AN EP.
“I’m sure I will have something out this year but unlikely that will be the album”. Unlikely but not impossible. Also. A single would be good. This is the second time he mentions releasing something in 2021 and he sounds surer about it than the first time around.
He also said that he isn’t sure we will get a studio version of Copy. And that the best bridges from Walls to LT2 are Walls, OTB, KMM and Copy. Can’t wait!
Then we jump to March 6th when he announced he was going to create his own management company. “Sometimes action is needed first to encourage the motivation and belief”. As we can tell he was already manifesting some stuff which will lead us to the numerology stuff/Tesla… kidding. Or not. We might never know.
On the 22nd of March he answered some questions:
He told us music was still his main focus ♥ mwha. (x) I included this tweet to guilt-trip him into giving us music in case he’s reading this even after I told him to leave. ILY.
(x) I’d love to get a visual EP this autumn. Just saying. It sounds like a lovely concept.
Tumblr media
(x)
…next (I will get into it, I promise. I’m just mad).
On the 25th he left for Mexico until April 10th. You could assume it was just for the documentary where we got ten seconds of footage or admit the obvious: LT2 its a Mexican baby!!
On the 26th (so, not so far apart from that first 369) we got the first Faith in the Future mention: (x)
Back then we were innocent people who had no idea what was coming upon us. We still have no idea because what the fuck does he mean with these. Please explain. I have one braincell and I don’t use it enough for this. I’m linking some theories.
On the 30th of March he confirmed he was already working on the documentary. So AFHF was already on the works. Will it take this long for us to get the Veeps numbers? We also got this tweet: "Got a decent chorus idea down" (x).
Same person that got the “something out this year” exclusive. If you know something share with the class. Also. Is this Change? I feel like this could be Change but I also assume he wrote Change after hanging out with his friends or being in Doncaster. But who knows.
(x) And the second mention to 369.
(x) 15th of April. The second "Faith in the future".
On the 19th of April he announced that he had something BIG for us later on the year which turned out to be the Away From Home Festival ♥♥ (x) I love him so much.
Then on the 28th he announced the 369 merch drop (which it’s probably the Walls drop? Except that the TOU and KMM ones were “drop 1 and drop 2” and this was drop 369 which, again, makes no sense) but we still don’t know what 369 means.
Into May’ 21 we go.
He rescheduled tour again. And dropped another bomb (x).
He announced he has signed with BMG as an independent artist by RTing this tweet on May 10th. The article also says that he’s already working on writing and recording LT2. The timing… we don’t know. What this deal involves… we don’t know either. Bear with me here because I have a lot to say about this.
I think the deal is only a distribution one, but that BMG are interested in Louis and what he (us) could bring to the table. They were either present at the festival or watching it, but officially they had no involvement at all with it (everything is credited either to Louis own company, 78 Productions, or Charlie Lightening’s company). That’s the case for both giveaways too; the vinyl one and the tickets for the festival.
I think it would be an unbelievably bad move not to test the waters with BMG now or soon-ish. At least a single, to see how it performs. Due to the circumstances, it’s obvious there’re certain limitations on place but I want to see how they push it, whether the radio play exist this time around and if the song is playlisted and promoted and all that… I would also love to know, since it says he signed with BMG UK, but it also states it’s a global deal, how things are going to go on the US and other countries.
Yes, yes. I know those are all questions and no answers. But I know the same as you, sadly. If any of you know more than you’re letting on… again, share with the class.
Where was I? Yes, on the 25th of May Louis had a great day writing (x). Since the first time he had mentioned he was officially writing to this date there’s almost eight months. And I believe he was writing before October’ 20.
He followed Robert Harvey that day and, on the 28th of May (why is it always the 28th???) he was spotted at the studio for the first time.
June was an interesting month for the fandom ♥. Lots of LHL content which I will love and cherish for the rest of times. On June 4th, June 9th, and June 10th he was spotted at the studio, but I believe he was there more days.
Tumblr media
(x)
This was posted on June 6th and captioned Studio. Charlie also shared it with “Mega tunes being put down, can’t wait for this @louist91 #louistomlinson #LT2” as the caption. This gives me 2019 (Elton-Joint) vibes. I like it. Feels like we’re getting closer to something.
He added the Milano date on the 9th too which I’m mentioning because I’m going alone. Anyone wanna go with me please? I’m nice and I never eat anything before a concert so you can have my food. On other news. It didn’t come home.
During July he was at the studio at least three days too. Probably more. Feels like more with all the fan pictures we got. Or was that June? Anyway, July 1st and 9th we got some videos from Robert Harvey and wearesuperhi, which is who Louis has been working with the most, that we know of. I don’t know for sure they’re from that day. And on July 5th we got an article and lots of pictures of Louis looking really good outside the studio.
On the 12th of July the first fans started getting the free, 369 bucket hat and print. We still don’t know what the purpose was other than to thanks fans. Maybe that was it. I want answers and I still think it relates to a future project (see theories above), but it could also just be a bridge with the Walls breaking.
He didn’t tweet about anything interesting for a while, mostly because he lost his phone (he either throwed it in the air or smashed it who knows). Then on the 29th of July he announced the festival!
I’m glossing over it because there’s already been a lot of talk about it (rightfully) and while it was a wonderful thing, it doesn’t have much to do with LT2.
Let’s talk Change!
On August 3rd he tweeted this about the setlist.
Tumblr media
(x)
And this (x) on the 28th! I can’t stand him.
We didn’t get it, obviously. Because who was going to get that. But we read too much into things. Alright.
On the 16thof August Dave Gibson shared this post tagged #LT2 with the eyes emojis 👀👀👀. I believe this has to do both with Change but also with whatever else came out of that Mexico trip.
Tumblr media
(x) Last relevant tweet related to LT2 is this one.
So, on the 30th of August we got Change and we cried, and we know that Change is going in the new album. He said it. With those exact words. He also said he was “getting a feeling for it”. This has to meant he already has a general idea of the vibe of the new album and what’s going in it!!!!!! (Right? RIGHT?).
Anyway, let’s go back a few weeks because some other things happened on August. He was at the studio a few more times. Or it was suggested that he was there. On the 17th and the 18th. (Why was it so time-pressing to be at the studio instead of rehearsing for the festival? There was no studio at all on the documentary. Which makes sense, but again, then why?).
On the day of the festival we got another mention of Faith in The Future that made me feel part of a cult ngl. The words were flashing on the screen for less than a second. Okay.
And then he tweeted those words again after watching the livestream/documentary on the 4th of September (x). This is what makes me suspect it's either the name of the album or of the single.
On the same day, we got some interesting quotes about LT2 on the documentary.
“Soon I’ll have to think about me second album, which in my head I’ll get the tour out of the way and then I’ll address that. So, I hadn’t really given it much thought, to be honest”.
“When every day is the same is hard to feel creative and it’s hard to have any kind of proper inspiration”.
“As season started to come back, I started writing again and it was great and some of these songs turned out alright”.
And I think this is it. I might be overlooking some important details but that’s what we know and what we don’t know.
So. Conclusions. That’s what you missed on Glee. I do believe the album is, if not mostly done, partially there. And yes, this post is pointless and never-ending but it’s all in here if you need to tell Louis “Hey, you said this, mate”.

Finally October, the favorite time of year for Y/n. For various reasons, fantasies, sweets, the weather, absolutely everything Y/n loved most was present in October. But probably the thing the girl liked the better was the Weasley twins' Halloween party. And this year promised, it was the twins' last year at school and they promised the best Halloween party this school has ever seen.
Usually Y/n knew everything the twins were preparing, since they were a quartet. The twins, Y/n and Lee. These four names together gave chills to any teacher. But not this time. This year it was just Fred and George who were looking for trouble. The twins didn't let Y/n and Lee participate at all, the surprise was for everyone. And of course, Y/n's anxiety didn't leave the twins alone for a minute.
"Please Fred, tell me at least the color of the glasses!" Y/n insisted on Fred saying at least a little detail about the party. The secret was complete.
"I already said that I don't speak a word to you, Y/n" The redhead replied laughing.
They were in a history of magic class, automatically nobody was paying attention. The twins sat in the last row, Y/n and Lee just ahead.
"What are the drinks going to be, that's no big deal!" Lee asked as curious as Y/n.
"Not a word, Lee," George replied with a sly smile on his face, the same as the one on his brother's face.
"I hate you both" Y/n said irritably and turned forward.
Fred who was behind Y/n leaned forward and rested his head on the girl's shoulder, whispering her ear. Fred's proximity to Y/n's ear made the girl get goosebumps and close her eyes while the redhead spoke. "You don't miss out on waiting, baby"
George and Lee exchanged a look that they knew well what it meant. Y/n and Fred have always had this relationship ... doubtful. Nothing but indirect flirtations happened between the two, there was never anything else. George and Lee always questioned the two of them if something happened in the backstage that they didn't see, and of course, the answer was always the same "We are just friends". Only friends my ass, George thought. The boy knew his brother well to know when he was lying.
Fred then returned to his seat and Y/n kept her eyes closed digesting the sensation she had just had, wishing it had lasted a little longer. She opened her eyes slowly and blinked several times, returning to reality.
"My God, the sexual tension between you two can be cut with a knife," Lee said making the three friends laugh.
"We are just friends, you know that" Y/n replied and noticed that this time Fred's laugh was not genuine. Apparently George noticed it too. But of course it could only be Y/n's head.
The class passed slowly as usual, but amid laughter, scolding from the teacher and notes on the parchment, time finally passed. It was already lunchtime and Y/n couldn't be more thankful for that. Her thoughts could go from Fred to the mountain of mashed potatoes that awaited her.
Weeks passed and the twins had not yet given any information about the party. It wasn't just Lee and Y/n who were looking forward now, all seventh graders as well. The fact that Umbridge was taking care of the school, making so many rules, only made things more exciting. The twins couldn't be loud ... At least not in theory.
Now everyone was in the common room, some doing their homework and others just hanging out. Everything was calm until the most beloved twins in the world came in doing what they do best, drawing attention.
“My dear student friends" George was saying.
"Me and my dear brother, we finally have the invitations ready!" Fred completed.
"And what does that mean, bro?" George asked doing a theatrical pose.
"That not even the pink toad was able to stop the Weasley Twins!" Fred completed again by opening his arms also in a theatrical way.
“But it’s worth remembering that the party is only for people from the fifth year upwards” Some sad moans were heard from some students from the fourth year downwards “So my little grasshoppers, you who didn’t taste one of our Halloween parties, will have to look for that taste in our store! ” George announced and the sad moans automatically turned into happy faces.
“That's right! We believe that very soon, our store will have a physical point and will be 100% prepared to serve all of you little pests! ” Fred said laughing and started handing out the invitations.
The invitations were not common, as nothing the twins did was common, no one was surprised, just curious. They were orange sweets in the shape of mini pumpkins.
“But is this sweet? How should we know where and when to go with a sweet? ” Ron asked as soon as George handed him one of the pumpkins.
"I suggest taking a bite, little brother," Fred said mockingly, handing one to Y/n. "I made this one especially for you" And winked at the girl. Hers was Y/F/C , your favorite color. As soon as the girl saw the candy she smiled at Fred and got a little flushed.
As soon as Ron took a bite of the fearful candy, sparkles that resembled fireworks with a date, time and place emerged from the pumpkin.
"We just suggest that you don't eat it whole, eating the other piece makes you invisible for 15 minutes, so you can go to the party without drawing unnecessary attention" Fred said with a smile on his face, proud of what he had done.
It was amazing how these boys were the life of the party wherever they went. Y/n smile so proudly for the boys. After the euphoria of delivery of the pumpkins, the boys sat on the sofa with only a few students in the room, most of had already gone to sleep. Y/n was in an armchair by the fireplace, reading a book. Fred settled on the floor in front of the girl and rested his head on her knees. George sat next to Lee on the couch.
"Okay, now that we have everything set up, what will your fantasy be?" George asked to his friends.
"I was thinking of going as a werewolf" Lee replied playing with the hem of his shirt.
"What a cliché, Lee" Hermione who was finishing up her homework said from across the room. She, Harry and Ron were actually finishing up their homework. But everyone knew that the boys were just waiting for Hermione to finish copying hers.
"You're right, he should go as you Hermione, who knows, maybe someone will put limits on this party?" Ron replied laughing, immediately regretting because of Hermione's furious reaction.
"And what are you going to be dressed up for?" Y/n asked lowering the book, she had stopped paying attention long ago.
"Us? Secret too" Fred replied to the girl.
"You guys are getting unbearable with this, you know?" Y/n said looking at the twins.
"Just noticed now?" Lee said sarcastically.
Y/n snorted angrily and pulled her legs up so that Fred could no longer lean on them, causing the boy to turn his head to her laughing.
"You look so beautiful when you're mad" He said and stood up and give her a kiss on the cheek. "I think it's past time for us to go to sleep, we need energy to organize what comes tomorrow, Georgie"
George got up too and agreed with his brother, so the two went up to the dorm wishing everybody a good night.
"I'll see if I can get anything out of them before bed, good night, Y/n" Lee said and went after the twins.
Harry was already drooling at the table, Ron was almost, only Hermione was still focused. Y/n got up and headed for the girls' dorm.
"Good night, Mione" Y/n said.
"When are you two going to assume you have more than a friendship, Y/n?" Hermione asked before she went up. The girl laughed and shook her head.
"We are just friends"
The following days passed with Y/n listening to discussions to see what would be the fantasy of her friends. Lee really was a werewolf, Hermione was from an important witch that nobody really understood who was just that had something to do with defending giants, Ron was going as a auror, Harry as a  quidditch player, and of course the fantasy of Fred and George it was still a secret.
At breakfast on the day of the party, everyone was euphoric. The whispers came not only from the Gryffindor table, but from all of them, even some Slytherins were excited.
And because she kept her head elsewhere, Y/n ended up forgetting to think about her fantasy. Then, taking advantage of having a visit to Hogsmade that day, she asked Hermione for help in choosing a costume. The girls went to each clothing store until they found the perfect costume. That was it, they thought. It perfectly matched Y/n's personality.
The hours passed and now it was only an hour before the twins' Halloween party. The girls in Y/n's room were euphoric. They had pirates, healers, vampires, it looked like a children's book in one room. Y/n was finishing her makeup and would already be ready to leave. The outfit she had chosen was nothing less than court jester. Not a dull court jester, according to Hermione, and here I quote her words, she was a “sexually desirable jester”. A colorful short dress, socks to the thighs one of each color, hair tied with colored ribbons and a cute clown makeup. It was perfect.
"You look perfect, Y/n!" Angelina said to the girl with colored ribbons in her hair.
"You too, Angie, wonderful by the way!" Y/n said to her friend that was dressed as a fairy.
The two then descended together, meeting several people in costume in the main hall. And in the sea of mummies and mermaids, Y/n spotted the werewolf she was looking for.
“Lee! Lee! ” The girl called and Lee turned to see her.
"Y/n ... Bloody hell woman, now I understand what Fred talks about so much" Lee replied looking Y/n up and down.
"What does Fred say?" Y/n asked frankly eyebrows.
"He keeps saying you have phenomenal thighs," Lee replied, staring at her legs.
“Hey! Lee! Eyes up here! ” Y/n responded making the boy automatically look embarrassed, but then laughing.
"Let's go then?" Lee asked Y/n and she nodded.
The two then ate all the pumpkin and automatically the picture of the fat woman opening, looked like a passage of ghosts, no one was seen, all you could hear were footsteps and some muffled laughter through the corridors.
Finally, after walking a lot trying to make a minimum of noise, they reached the precise room. The door opened and the legion of students entered the place. When Fred and George said it was going to be the best Halloween party this school has ever seen, they weren't kidding.
There were already some students in the room, but the decor was clear. They had colorful and noiseless fireworks shining on the ceiling tirelessly, they seemed bewitched to last all night. The smoke on the ground made it look like a swamp, you could barely see people's feet. The tables set with various sweets with different shapes and a large bowl with punch, certainly alcoholic. The walls decorated with purple and orange ribbons all over the place. Of course, cobwebs, skeletons and pumpkins were placed in every corner. The music was loud, but it was not heard outside, they had also bewitched it. The only strange thing was that Fred and George were not yet in place.
More and more people were arriving and none of the twins. Y/n was having fun with Lee and other friends, but missed the redheaded duo. While some students were kissing in a corner and others were stuffing themselves with food, Y/n was dancing with a glass in her hand, like there's no tomorrow. She moved her hips from side to side without caring if she was drawing too much attention. Tonight was really for that.
The only part of the place that no one had understood was the stairway in the corner of the room that led to a balcony and a small door that nobody could open. After a while, Y/n ignored the stairs, and suddenly after the girl's third glass, the door made sense. It had opened up and the music had turned down the volume. There they were, Fred and George came out of the door in the costume of Kings. Y/n laughed with them and stopped dancing, looking at the boys.
"Feel free, my subjects, the party is yours today!" Fred said raising his hands.
"And remember, if you are not going to party like us, you can leave" George added.
"And let the party really start!" Fred shouted and everyone shouted in agreement.
The twins then descended the stairs, as if they were true kings. Strangely, their fantasy matched the boys perfectly. Y/n after seeing that the boys were already enjoying the party normally, she took another sip of her drink and started dancing again.
The music playing was sensual, and it is clear that the girl, with the courage that the drink gave her, took advantage of the moment. She had wanted to do this for years, and the opportunity never came, but now? Last year, she was going to do what she wanted without fear.
Y/n started to dance to the music, as sensual as the beat of each note. She knew they had several pairs of eyes on her, but only one interested her. Then the girl turned to where Fred was and she couldn't be more pleased to see that he was looking at her like a dog is looking at a piece of meat, with pure desire. She then danced looking directly at him.
Fred couldn't hold on any longer, he dodged the crowd and came very close to Y/n, grabbed her waist tightly and without thinking, he kissed the girl. It was as if everyone in the room had disappeared. They were just there, Y/n and Fred. The girl returned the kiss at the same time her lips met, placing her hands on the boy's neck.
The two separated only because they were forced to breathe. Keeping foreheads glued together. Smiling broadly. And you can hear George and Lee in the background shouting "Finally!" "Just friends, my ass!" And things like that. But Fred and Y/n couldn't care less.
"So.. hm, I think we're not just friends after all, huh?" Fred says laughing still being very close to you.
"I don't think we ever were just friends"

Read on Ao3 - The Girl at the Library
Summary: Levi is a college student who needs help on his research paper. Luckily, Hange is a book worm and works at the library.
Levi was stressed and annoyed, mainly because he was in college. Of course with college comes infinite amounts of homework assignments, 100-question exams with astronomical amounts of topics on them, unnecessary research papers, and staying in a dorm room with a kid that happens to have no problem inviting his friends over every night to hang out and party with no regards to his sullen roommate.
Levi had a paper coming up. He had to come up with a topic, find sources, and finish his paper by the end of the semester. With three weeks left to go, he decided he’d rather get it over with. He began his brainstorming in the study lounge at the center of his dormitory floor. He was starting to stress. He sat on the big yellow leather couch in the way-too-bright study lounge with his laptop in his lap. He tapped his pen against his head as he tried to think of an idea.
“You have to write about a topic related to your major,” The professor explained. “This is the one and only paper you will have assigned this semester. I suggest you get it done as early as possible.”
If only it were that easy. He had the rubric pulled up in one tab, and a ton of “How to pick a research topic” websites in others. His major was pharmaceuticals, a field he was inspired to take on because of his mother. She was very ill when he was very young, so they were in and out of hospitals. He was sitting on the edge of his mother’s hospital bed when a nurse came in the room to administer her medications.
“This is…” His memory was blurry. “This medication will help… and make you feel better.” And it did. 9 year old Levi was fascinated. This one little pill or bag of what looked like water helped his mother feel better. Within hours, his mother’s skin went from pallor to beige. Her hands were warmer. She looked more awake, more alive. She didn’t wince at Levi’s touch. She was in less pain. She got better, like the nurse predicted.
Since then, Levi always asked questions whenever they visited the hospitals again and again. “What kind of drug is that?” “What does it do?” “How long does it take to take effect?”
Levi recalled the memory with a deep sigh. He missed his mother. She was at home, not too far away. Levi never had the time to travel the hour through the big city to visit her. When he did have free time, he spent it studying or sleeping. He felt his heart twinge at this. She had sacrificed everything to help him attend college and to give him a good life.
Now with his head cloudy, he went to reach his water bottle in his backpack. He opened the lid and took a sip. At that moment, he could hear some obnoxiously loud students throwing tennis balls back and forth to each other. He recognized these kids too, they were some (of many) of the lovely visitors his roommate had over most nights. Suddenly in the blink of an eye, Levi’s water bottle spilled all over his laptop, a tennis ball on the floor next to him, and some worried voices approaching him. Within seconds, the laptop started to steam and the screen went black.
His laptop was fried, he determined. He felt heat start to rise inside of him.
“Oh my god, man. I am so sorry,” One of the kids said, trying to hold back a laugh.
“Yeah, man. We didn’t mean to.”
Levi took a deep breath and stood up. These kids… were gonna pay.
He closed his broken laptop and stood up. These kids were much taller than him, but looked to be easily intimidated by Levi’s presence.
“Do you have the money to pay for this?” He sneered, getting very close to their faces.
“Eh… no, but we have jobs! We can pay you back over time,” One of the kids trailed off. They seemed to be intimidated by the short man. “You live in 112 right?”
Levi nodded, his face heating up with anger. “This laptop cost me a lot of money.”
“We get it, man! We said we’re sorry,” the other kid explained. “We’ll pay you back or whatever.”
“Tch,” Levi clicked. He was extremely pissed. These kids should not be throwing balls at each other in the hallway. Also, they spilled his water which made a mess. “Which room are you both in?” They responded with 118. The one kid explained they get paid on the 15th and 30th of each month. Luckily, their pay day was 4 days away.
“I’ll stop by Tuesday, the 16th,” Levi decided, before gathering his things and heading to the stairs. He began to walk through the campus. Fuck, now where was he gonna go? How was he gonna find his topics? His computer was fucked. Putting it in rice wouldn’t have helped. He was so occupied having a debate with himself about where to research, he almost missed it. If he looked the other way or even blinked in that moment, he wouldn’t have seen it. It was the campus library. No, not the campus library, but a campus library. It blended into the surroundings, hidden from the passerbyers. There was a sign in the window “We’re Open!”.
The library was small, to say the least. It was old fashioned, which contrasted the modern aesthetic of the university. It was a small, dark brown, wooden building with four-pane windows. The door was a lighter shade of brown. He decided it was easier to check out this little library instead of walking another 10 minutes to get to the main library. He didn’t have time to waste. He had to get started with his paper right away. He walked up to the door and opened it. When he did, a little bell rang at the doorway.
“Just a minute!” A woman’s voice called from the back. Levi decided to wander around. There were many books crammed on the shelves. There were two computers on each side when he walked in. They looked out of place, considering they were very modern compared to the architecture of the library itself. The books were all shades of bright, vibrant colors. It was strange. From the outside, it seemed creepy and gloomy. Once he walked in, it was very cozy. The dark walls of the library contrasted the beautiful colors of the books.
Then, he saw the woman come out. She came up to the desk. He expected an elderly lady with her glasses on a chain, but he assumed this woman was a student. She was a young woman who wore thin oval glasses and her brown hair thrown up in a messy half-up-half-down ponytail.
“Hi!” The woman said. “How can I help you?”
“I want to use a computer, please,” He announced. He glanced at her nametag which hung like a necklace around her neck. “Hange” was the name on the tag. It was strange and unordinary, but it had a nice ring to it. The name seemed to suit her.
“Sure! You are allowed up to two hours a day,” Hange explains. “You can choose whichever computer you’d like.”
The computers were unoccupied. In fact, the entire library seemed vacant except for him and the employee.
“Does anyone actually come here?” Levi asked, setting his stuff down next to a desk, and looking her way. She looked like someone who would work at a library.
The brunette chuckled. “You are my third visitor today!” She exclaimed proudly. It was already about 3pm. He remembered the sign in the front says “12pm-6pm weekdays”.
Levi chuckled silently, air huffed out his nose. “How do you stay in business?”
“Well, the university thinks it’s good to have a small library in the outskirts of the campus so students have access to books and computers because the main campus library is in the center of the plaza. Sometimes we get about ten people a day, and sometimes they don’t even take anything out. Sometimes I wonder how…” She began to ramble now. She definitely has not had anyone else visit her today.
She was starting to get on his nerves. It’s been 20 minutes since he arrived, and she was still talking. He zoned out until she caught his attention.
“Hey,” She said. “What’s your name? I have to track whoever comes in to use the computers.”
Why? No one else comes in. He noticed her clipboard with the sign-ins was blank.
“Levi Ackerman,” He announced. She scribbled his name down. “Okay, it’s 3:30 now, so you have till 5:30 if needed.” She pointed to the clock with her pen as she explained. He nodded and proceeded to walk towards the table with the computer he claimed. He sat down and began working.
-
He was an hour into his research when he finally threw his hands up in the air in frustration. He still couldn’t think of a topic. He groaned aloud.
Hange was leaning against the main desk, her nose stuck in a book. “How Trees Communicate” was the title. When she heard the young man groan, she looked up.
“Is everything okay?” She asked, peering over her book at him.
“Yeah, yeah,” He mumbled. “Fine…”
Hange raised an eyebrow. She placed her bookmark at her spot, then strolled around the desk and walked over to him.
“What are you working on?” She asked, sitting in the seat next to him and put her hands on her knees, looking at him curiously. He scoffs. It was none of her business, he thought to himself. And it’s an invasion of privacy.
He was frustrated and desperate. Hoping for a miracle, he managed to tell her anyways.
“I need a topic for my paper and I can’t think of any…” Levi began. “It needs to be based on pharmaceuticals, my major. It also needs scientific evidence to back up my research…”
She was fully absorbed in what he had to say. She was bored, so helping Levi would’ve been something to do at least. Besides, Levi was in luck. She was an avid reader, always reading about anything and everything. She was studying plants and botanicals, but she found herself frequently taking out books about cooking; religion; war; animals; and medical topics including surgery, pathophysiology, anatomy, and pharmaceuticals.
“What about how diuretics affect blood pressure?” Hange suggested. Levi was taken aback. His eyebrows furrowed, and he shook his head in confusion. “Or if anti-alzheimer drugs actually help slow the progression of Alzheimer’s? Why do you take different medications during certain stages of Alzheimer’s disease? Or how do anti-seizure medications work? That is something I ask myself all the time. You take this little pill and BOOM! You’ll be fine, no seizure! Oh, oh, oh! Or, how certain medications cause certain adverse effects? How come so many medications cause anxiety?” Her eyes started to light up as she talked. They were a dark brown, but when she started to talk, they seemed to morph to a captivating hazel. He felt he could see every color in her eyes. He saw brown and green and the little lines of her iris. Hange’s hands would move as she talked, and her smile grew wide. She couldn’t keep still. She was getting excited by coming up with all these ideas. She seemed so passionate and so willing to help; he was overwhelmed by her.
Levi was in shock. His day started off horrible. Now, he was almost glad his laptop was fucked. This woman was making his mind race with ideas.
“Are you okay?” Hange asked for the second time within his visit there. Levi nodded slowly. “I am just… How do you know all that? Are you a med student?”
Hange chuckled and waved her hand at him. “No… I am a bookworm! Also, my mom is a nurse, so she used to teach me about nursing stuff all the time. Oh! You could write about the pathophysiology of anticholinergics! Or beta blockers! Or how the body reacts to the use of long-term steroids?”
Levi took a deep breath. He felt euphoric. He had been casually trying to think of topics since last week. All of a sudden, this woman can just ramble off hundreds of ideas? Levi smiled visibly.
“Actually… I really like the final topic you suggested. About steroids.” Levi admitted.
Hange smiled back at him. “Great! I can try to help you find some sources or books.” She directed him to open a new tab and to go to a certain database. “This is where you can find reliable sources. Over here,” She pointed to his screen at the left side. “You can add filters. You can change how old or new you’d like the sources to be, filter out certain words or phrases, et cetera.” She had been closer to him now; she scooted her chair closer so she could explain the database to him. It was hard not to look at her as she explained. She was captivating.
Levi began to type in words for his topic.
“Steroids”, “Long-term use”, “Cushing’s Disease”, “Addison’s Disease”, “Addisonian Crisis”, “Pathophysiology”.
He felt like he was finally getting somewhere. He was finally making progress.
-
As Levi was walking home, he couldn’t get his mind off that girl. He decided to brainstorm about his topic in his room once he got there. The thing was, though, he couldn’t think of any more ideas. He found it funny. Of course he was full of ideas and inspiration when he visited that library, but now he’s void of any.
-
Levi’s weekends were no different than the weekdays. He made it appoint to visit the library again the next day, Saturday. It was a sunny, cool Saturday morning. Levi had inspiration to write. He needed a computer and Hange’s ideas. When he arrived, it seemed busy. There were three other patrons at the library.  He recognized Hange right away, helping a tall blonde man with a big nose. He wondered if she was the only employee there. The man she was helping was taller than her, so she had to reach up on her toes to point to items. She was an average height, but this action made her seem shorter than she actually was.
Hange looked his way and greeted him with a toothy smile. Levi waved at her and started to head down one of the aisles of books. He was in the nonfiction section, but was lost. For now, he just casually browsed the section, but quickly got impatient. He needed Hange’s help to find books for this paper. He heard her laugh with the patron. Maybe he’s a friend, he thought to himself. Her laugh was airy and full of heart. It seemed genuine and passionate. Levi felt an urge to make her laugh, too.
She finally made her way over to him. Levi was looking down at a book when she caught his eye. “Hey, stranger!” She greeted him with a wave. “Whatcha looking for?” She placed her hands on her hips.
“I’m trying to find some sources for my paper. Steroids is the topic,” Levi explained.
“Oh, right. I remember! After you left last night, I tried to look for some books for your topic,” She said. She was trying to help me? Levi thought to himself.
She curled her finger in a “follow me” gesture and he did. She brought him to another aisle or two over from where they were. “These are the 600’s, where you’ll most likely find what you’re looking for. I found a book or two about Addison’s disease, but it’s more of a memoir. You can look around though if you’d like. Anything in the 610’s should be right up your alley.” She explained as if she was going to leave, but she didn’t. Hange looked for books with him.
After a moment, she made a noise. “Look at this!” She exclaimed. She reached next to him to reach for a book. She was on her toes again. “Mmmm,” She moaned as she tried to reach. “Actually, I’m gonna get the step stool. I don’t think I can reach it.” Quickly, she left and came back with the stool. It looked unreliable, but Levi was sure he’d be able to prevent any accident from occurring. Hange placed it on the ground and stepped up on it, grabbing the book with ease. She stepped down with the book in her hand. This book had a white cover with a blue label and was titled “Coping with Prednisone”. Levi was surprised she even knew what prednisone was.
“Here!” She reached it out for him to grab. He took it and looked at her face. She had that same look in her eyes. “Did you want to use the computer?” He nodded and she led him towards the front of the library. The library was small from the outside, but very deep inside. It reminded him of a forest.
“I got your name, don’t worry,” She said, clicking her pen and writing his name down on the sheet.
“Oops!” Hange made a quick grimace. “I added an ‘e’ at the end. I’ll just cross it out.” The statement sounded like it was addressed to herself rather than to anyone else. She crossed out the extra letter.
“Ackermane”. Levi was gonna attempt to make her laugh.
“If you thought I looked like a horse you could’ve just said so.”
Mane, horse mane. Get it?
It felt like forever before Hange responded. She looked up at him, starting to laugh. It was a short but audible laugh. Her head nodded back and she smiled. Her cheeks turned pink and her eyes lit up for a moment. It made his heart skip a beat. It was a bad joke yet she still laughed. She chuckled. Giggled? No. Laughed lightly. Chortled? Maybe that’s the right word. Whatever it was, he wanted to do it more, maybe even more than that.
He followed her to the computers. The blonde guy she was helping earlier was on one computer. She led him to the two computers across from the other ones and sat down in the chair next to him.
“What are you doing?” Levi asked, placing the book she found for him on the table.
Her eyebrows raised, and after a moment she reacted. She waved her hands in front of her.
“I’m sorry! I thought you may have needed help. I should get back to work anyway. I gotta go through a new box of books that just came in.”
Levi looked up at her. Is she blushing? he asked himself.
“I’ll let you know if I need help.” Levi responded. She smiled at him before quickly walking away.
-
He started to find some evidence-based practice articles about how steroids can cause long-term side effects, especially if stopped abruptly. He made sure to keep the tabs available. He’d have to cite them later. Levi’s mind was racing with words and sentences and ideas. He had to get them down on paper. He opened Documents on the computer and started typing away.
The clicking of the keyboard soothed him. He was a pretty fast typer, he didn’t make many mistakes either. The library around him began to become quiet as his typing got louder and he got deeper in thought. Before he knew it, his two hours were up. He felt someone approach him from his right.
“Hey,” Hange said, gently tapping the table next to him. “It’s 2pm. I gotta close up.”
Levi snapped out of his focused trance with a quick head shake. “Right. Sorry.” He pulled out a flash drive from his backpack and plugged it into the computer. He transferred his document. “I got the first page done.”
Levi asked himself for a brief moment why he was sharing this information with someone he just met. Maybe since she helped him, he felt she should know.
“That’s great! It seemed like you were really focused,” Hange said, walking away to shut off some lights. Only then did he notice the white noise of the overhead lights quickly dissipate. The room buzzed with silence now. Levi and Hange were alone in the library. Suddenly, Levi felt nervous. He watched Hange walk around the room frantically, making sure to shut off all the lights and computers. She grabbed a bag. The bag was a fabric material with a patchwork design that had a long strap that hung on on her shoulder. Maybe she made it herself. She grabbed her big mess of keys and walked towards him.
“Ready?” She said. He nodded and walked outside, holding the door for her. She thanked him, locking the door behind her. They began to walk down the street slowly.
“Want to grab lunch?” Hange asked, looking at him. Levi looked back at her. She looked pretty.
“Sure, I can eat.” Hange chuckled at that. He didn’t try, but it made her happy for a brief moment. He seemed nervous but she was too.
They decided to eat at a cute restaurant on campus called “Life in Paradis”. It was a small, dainty place with a green and yellow checkered awning. The building was made of yellow brick, and the door was bright green. There were flower pots outside on the windowsill. Again, this place seemed totally out of place in the modern aesthetic of the university.
“This place is adorable!” Hange exclaimed. “I love the food here. You’ll love it too. They have all kinds of food here.” Levi felt a smile grow on his face. The way she talked made his heart flutter. She was always so passionate. They entered and got a table for two. This is not a date, Levi kept telling himself. Then why were his cheeks red?
They sat down and looked through a menu. Levi wasn’t extremely hungry even though he hadn’t had anything but tea this morning. He peered over his menu to look at the girl. Her hair was different today, he determined. Today all her hair was in a ponytail, and it was higher on her head. She wore a light yellow button-down with a long, light blue cardigan. Hange caught him staring at her and blushed.
“What would you two like to order?” The waitress asked him first.
“I’m gonna get a sandwich, I think,” He said, crossing his arms across his chest. “Turkey sub.” “I think I’m gonna get a chicken caesar salad,” Hange said. He nodded, grabbed the menus, and walked away.
Hange began to talk about how beautiful the flowers outside the restaurant were. They were all variants of pink, purple, yellow, and red. She described the petals and the leaves, the flowers’ origins, and all the meanings of the flowers. Levi wasn’t annoyed by her tangent this time. He actively listened to this girl talk about what fascinated her so much. He found it soothing. It made him wonder how her brain can contain all the information she was spewing at him. He enjoyed watching the way her eyes lit up when she talked. The beautiful green that blossomed at the bottom of her irises when the light hit her eyes at the right angle. The way her lips curled into a big smile when she talked to him. Her cheeks flush to a light pink when she describes the petals of the flowers or how flowers were used to express feelings when words cannot. It made his heart race.
“Levi,” Hange said. Her affect was the opposite of earlier when she was rambling. She wore a frown on her face, feeling guilty.“I’ve been rambling… sorry. It’s such a bad habit of mine. I can talk for hours and hours.”
“Don’t apologize, four-eyes,” Levi replied, leaning his elbows and forearms on the table in a crossed position. Hange smiled at him. Levi meant it. She shouldn’t apologize for talking, especially if it’s about something she loves. The food had arrived at the table. They ate. Levi felt the need to open up to her about something. He already learned so much about her, and her presence made him feel like he can open up.
“I like to run,” Levi said abruptly. Hange looked at him intently, chewing on a forkful of salad. “I don’t do it competitively or anything, but I enjoy running. I try to run once or twice a day.” Hange’s eyebrows raised and she nodded in agreement.
“That’s awesome!” She smiled again at him. “I like to run too. I’m really slow and get tired easily, but I enjoy feeling the wind in my hair and feeling my heart pound.” She took a bite of her meal again. Levi nodded and began to eat too. This sandwich was really good.
-
After talking some more about hobbies and school, they both finished their meal. The waiter brought over the check. Hange reached into her pocket for her wallet.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Levi asked. Hange furrowed her brows.
“I invited you out to lunch. I will pay,” Hange determined, her wallet now in her hands.
“No,” Levi said too quickly. “I will pay. It’s the least I can do. You helped me with my paper after all.”
The bickering lasted a very long minute. Before she got to think of the idea, Levi grabbed the checkbook and shoved his card inside before handing it to the waiter. Hange looked surprised. She sighed, putting her wallet away.
“Thank you, Levi. But you really didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.”
In all honesty, Hange didn’t have much money. She worked at that library four times a week, but the money she made went towards paying off her tuition. She really wanted to treat this man, her new friend. She wasn’t sure if he thought the same way about her. Did he consider her his friend? She felt slightly embarrassed. She did most of the talking and felt like she was annoying him. Maybe he just wanted to pay so she would lay off.
But the truth is, Levi felt the opposite way of how she was thinking. He was interested to hear more from her. He was addicted to the way his heart raced when he saw her.
-
Over the next couple of days, Levi would go to that library whenever he was available. He knew it was closed on Sunday, so he went Monday and Tuesday to the library. Fortunately, he got his first batch of money from the brats that fried his computer. He received $100. Of course it was not enough, but it was a start. Wednesday the 17th came around. This specific day was a wild card. The weather was unpredictable. Levi entered the library just in time; it had started to downpour. The little bell rang as he entered the library. To his surprise, Hange was not working that day. There was a boy behind the counter who was tall and had a brown bowl cut hairstyle.  He almost thought about turning around and leaving when he realized she wasn’t there. The rain charged towards the earth viciously, so he decided to seek shelter in the small library. It almost looked like a hurricane. He felt his mood change into a bad one. He didn’t remember to ask how often she worked.
“Hi there!” The man said. His name tag read “Moblit”. That’s a dumb name.
“I wanna use a computer,” Levi muttered, walking up to the main desk.
“Okay. Name?” Moblit grabbed the clipboard and a pen.
“Levi Ackerman.”
“Oh, I see you’ve been here before. A lot, actually.” Levi scoffed and rolled his eyes at his comment. He turned around, picked a computer, and sat down. He felt really stupid to not ask her about her schedule.
The two hours he spent working on his paper was incredibly slow. He didn’t get much done that day. He had writer’s block. He was almost done, so he didn’t worry about it too much. He didn’t know Hange’s schedule. He knew she worked Friday, the day they met; Saturday; Monday, and Tuesday. Maybe she only worked four times a week? Before he knew it, he asked Moblit aloud. It was almost an accident.
“Uh, she’ll be in on Friday,” Moblit replied. He probably couldn’t give out that information to some creep who began visiting daily with an attitude. He muttered a “thanks” before finishing up and heading out. The weather was holding up for now, so he decided to make a run for it. He didn’t say goodbye to Moblit.
He didn’t have an umbrella. The sun was trying to shine through the dark, eerie clouds. It wasn’t trying hard enough. He heard thunder rumbling in the distance.
Levi realized that this girl was all he thought about the past few days. Something about her enticed him. Something about her eyes and her presence drew him towards her. His heart skipped a beat whenever she’d graze his hand on accident, or even when she just talked to him. She made him happy. He hadn’t had too many friends in college. Although they just met last week, he felt a deep connection with her.
Suddenly, the sun poked through the clouds for a brief moment. The world lit up. It was at that moment he recognized a familiar face. Hange. She was walking towards him. She grinned when she saw him. She wore a fitted black t-shirt and baggy, light blue jeans.
“Levi!” She exclaimed. “I forgot my jacket in the library, so I came down to get it.”
“You didn’t tell me you weren’t working today.” Is all Levi said. Once he said it, he realized how creepy it must’ve sounded. A man she just met happens to go to this library to work on his project every day, who happens to come up with multiple reasons to interact with her. Maybe she thought he was a perv.
“Ehh!” She sighed. “I’m sorry! I thought I told you I was off today.” Levi shook his head. The comment itself may have sounded rude, but it wasn’t. She genuinely felt bad. “Walk with me.” Levi followed. Guess not.
“I don’t work Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. Well I’m not supposed to be,” Hange explained. “Mobilt, one of my co-workers, is always calling out sick. So I basically run the place.” They walked towards the library again and entered.
“Hey, Moblit. How’s it going?” Hange said in a normal tone, heading towards the back of the library. Moblit responded briefly, following Hange. Levi decided to hang back, he figured it was a secure area. He looked around awkwardly.
“Hange, you didn’t tell me you had a boyfriend,” Moblit said, following her towards the back.
Hange chuckled nervously. “He’s not my boyfriend,” she said bluntly. “He’s just a friend.” Moblit scoffed, rolling his eyes. “If he’s not your boyfriend, how come his mood entirely changed once he saw you?”
Hange found her jacket, folding it over her forearm. “Huh?”
“He was, like, in a bad mood when he came in. He used the computer but he seemed to be pissed or something. Now that he’s with you, he seems… tolerable.”
Hange laughed, feeling her cheeks blush. “It’s nothing like that. People have bad days, you know.”
Hange rolled her eyes and smirked, then headed towards the front of the library. “Ready?” Levi nodded and turned around.
“See you Friday,” Moblit called out. “See ya.” Hange replied.
The two started walking down the street. The air smelt of rain, and the ground was wet from the rain earlier. “Which building is your dorm in?” Hange asked. He was a bit surprised she asked him that, and she was so direct about it.
“Saint Maria,” He replied. She smiled. “Me too! I can’t believe I haven’t seen you around!” The wind picked up and the sky turned darker than before. They both looked up. “If you can’t make it to the library, you can use my desktop in my dorm room,” Hange offered. Levi’s cheeks turned bright red.
“Thanks, maybe tomorrow I can stop by,” Levi said. It was more of him thinking aloud than a statement. It was too late though, Hange already heard him. He could’ve sworn he didn’t say it aloud.
“That’s fine! I only have a class early tomorrow morning. Come by around 11, okay? My room number is 506.” Levi nodded. Thunder rolled and sounded closer now. They were almost at the dormitory building when it started to downpour. The rain was forcefully coming down on the two. Levi groaned in annoyance. He hated being in the rain. He hated being wet; he hated the wet socks and how gross he felt when it rained. He would’ve started to run to the building to seek cover, but he was taken aback by his new friend.
She was soaked and embracing it. She lifted her head up to face the sky and she laughed. It was loud, happy, genuine, and it took Levi’s breath away. Hange reached her hands out wide and spun around. He saw a strike of lightning light up the sky. He stared at her in awe. His heart swelled. Levi smiled big. After laughing, Hange looked at Levi and shared the look that he wore just a few moments ago. She loved his smile. She wished to make him smile more. She was also determined to make him laugh, too.
She grabbed his hand. “Let’s take cover!” And she pulled him into the dormitory hall. Saint Maria’s hall was beautiful. It had ceiling-to-floor glass pane windows that were always crystal clear. There was a big black modern chandelier that hung from the ceiling. It contained visible light bulbs. Hange secretly loved it. There were the same big, yellow, leather couches in the living room as there were in the study area on his floor. They both wiped their feet off on the big rug in the entryway.
“I love the rain,” Hange deduced, turning her head to look at him. As if Levi couldn’t tell. Her hand was still holding his. Levi looked up at her. “I like it, too.”

Holiday Surprise
Tumblr media
Requested by: @mari-victoria-13
Prompt: can you write lindsey x reader celebrating the holidays w readers family??
This is my SECOND TIME posting this cuz it won’t show up in tags which is very annoying. I hope it does this time. Went a little off the prompt, but that’s what you get if you leave me with little to no detail 😂. Hope you enjoy! Also if anyone knows how to make the post shorter so it says “keep reading” rather than have a whole ass paragraph on my page, please let me know. Thanks, enjoy! 💜Also this is NOT proof read, sorry...
“Finally, the adults turn to open presents,” my brother, Owen, complained standing up from his position on the couch to go search through the presents.
“Hey, you decided to have two cute kids,” I retorted as his wife laughed across from Lindsey and I.
It was Christmas of course and usually it was the cheeriest time of the year, and it still was, but this year I was nervous, very nervous. I had a plan, in fact a very elaborate one to propose to my girlfriend of 4 years, Lindsey.
Lindsey has been a shining light in my life since I met her all of those year ago. I remember being 16 when she was 18, hearing she went pro out of high school. I didn’t know it at the time, but we’d end up meeting for the first time four year later when I was 20. I got my first national team call up and we became attached at the hip. Of course, she had solid relationships with Tobin and Sonnett which 100% threw me off at first, especially because I thought Sonny and Linds were together. But after sometime, she expressed interest, and my oblivious brain didn’t read it right. I didn’t realize what was happening until I got shovel talk by the entire team, I was 21 by then, and confused as hell.
When I finally figure out what the hell they were talking about, it was clear I had no solid plan to ask Lindsey out, and so it became a game of what if’s, the whole team giving me ideas of what to do. I got so overwhelmed by the ideas and what could go wrong that when Lindsey walked in I just asked her... mostly by accident, and since that day we’ve been together.
Yeah, we’ve had some arguments and fights, like any normal relationship does, but we never go to bed angry at one another. We’ve helped each other through a lot, everything really. When my dad passed away 3 years ago, she was there, she lost the championship, I was there. Now, I want to promise her that I’ll be there forever, until death do us part and I can only hope she’ll agree.
We all stacked the presents in front of us which were ours and started to open them, collecting things of course from everyone. I got a nice watch, some jewelry, but I was most excited to see Lindsey’s reaction to the final gift.
“That’s it,” Lindsey said looking around at everyone’s wrapping paper on the floor, of course, everyone was in on this proposal except for Lindsey, I had something extravagant planned, and it would take a few days.
“No, there’s one last thing for you babe,” I said looking at her.
“Where? I don’t see it,” she looked around, unable to find it until she looked at me, holding a small box, wrapped in white and gold, “You’re sneaky, what is it?” She chuckled and I smiled.
“Open it,” I told her, she did, and found a small necklace in there, she seemed shocked, eventually finding the engraving on the back of important dates for us. When we met, our first kiss, when we both moved in together, etc.
“This is beautiful,” she said with a well of tears as she hugged me and I pecked her lips.
“There’s something else in there love,” I said, putting the necklace around her neck as she looked back in the box.
I watch on as she read it, everyone watching the exchange as I gave them a cheeky grin, “An I Owe You?” Lindsey asked and I nodded to the paper again as she started to read it, “Okay, ‘Mrs Lindsey Michelle Horan, I owe you a little trip up to the Delicate Arch’...” she looked at me with a confused face before looking at the paper again, “Oh, ‘You’re final present will be there, ready to pick up on December 31st’ New Years?” I nodded.
“Yep, I got one final thing for you, but it won’t be ready for some time,” I said, “Sorry, I really couldn’t get it in until later,” I smiled.
Obviously that was a complete lie, I had to organize everyone to be on the arch for New Years, which was hard convincing for some as it was gonna be cold. But the New Years fireworks would be perfect to help me out with this proposal, and it would be expensive, but totally worth it. Yeah, I had to get the whole team to fly out here, and Lindsey’s family who were fully on board, and get them up to the arch in time, literally just in time, for the fireworks.
It was a precarious plan, but I felt good about it.
“I have to wait for it?”
I nodded and she groaned, making the room laugh.
“I hate waiting,” she sighed and I chuckled, kissing her cheek.
“I know love, but I promise this is going to be the best present you’ve ever gotten... or at least I hope so.”
It was her time to kiss my cheek now, “I’m sure it’ll be great.”
The days passed by rather quickly, almost so quickly that I wasn’t ready when New Years rolled around. We’d spent a lot of time together, baking cookies with my family, splaying with my twin nephews, and honestly walking around Utah. A lot of that time was spent distracting Lindsey, and Im sure she got suspicious when I left her with my mom for a full day to make sure everything was in place. That was yesterday, December 30th, and that was also the day I picked up the ring.
When I got home that night, I didn’t think Lindsey was too happy with me. I’d gotten home and instead of greeting them rushed upstairs to my moms room where I knew the ring would be safely hidden. I felt bad though, as I’d literally been gone all day preparing, only coming hope around 10:30pm, to a grumpy looking Lindsey and my sleeping mother on the couch.
“Hey,” I said nervously and Lindsey gave me a look as if to tell me to meet her upstairs as she walked off, I sighed, waking my mom up.
“Huh what?” My mom always woke up startled, she always had since my dad died.
“You fell asleep,” I said, “Come on I think its bed time.”
“Where’s Lindsey?”
“Upstairs waiting for me so she can be angry I was gone all day,” I said with a small smile, my mom looked at me concerned, but so waved it off, “She’ll be happy when she get my present tomorrow.”
My mother smiled, “I’m so excited for it Y/N, you’re gonna do great,” She smiled and kissed my cheek as I helped her up. We walked upstairs together in silence, turning off the lights as we went, and I waved her goodbye when she went to her room and I went to mine.
When I walked in the bedroom, Lindsey was there, on the bed, looking at me with a stern face, looking down to her phone when I caught her eyes.
“Hey baby,” I said a little nervous, “You want to brush your teeth with me?”
“I already got ready for bed, she replied, looking to her phone for a distraction and I sighed, going to get ready on my own.
When I did finally finish getting ready, it was already almost 11, and I slipped into bed next to Lindsey as she had turned away from me, I didn’t like the feeling, we’d always talked about our issues before bed.
“Linds.”
“Hmm?”
“I’m sorry,” I sighed, softly placing my hand on her shoulder, she turned over and I couldn’t help but smile as her drowsy looking face, “I had to go out.”
“And leave me all day?” She pouted, “You’re mom is lovely, don’t get me wrong, I just missed you,” she sighed, turning fully to cuddle into my chest as we got comfortable, I wrapped my arms around her.
“If it’s any consolation, I did it because I needed to make sure your present for tomorrow was perfect, it has to be.”
She opened her eyes to look at me with her icy blues, “That’s what this is all about?” She had a slight smirk on her face and I nodded.
“Trust me, it has to be great.”
“Whatever you say,” she said, “I’m sorry for being mad, I really did just miss you.”
I chuckled, “I missed you too,” I said, a long pause after that before I said, “I could spent the rest of my life with you... like this.”
I could feel her smile against my chest, “I could too.”
And with that, we fell asleep.
timeskip
The next morning had anxiety written all over it, I was nervous and scattered, but pulled myself together in the morning. We laid in of course until around 10, everyone getting out of the house before we got up as planned.
My mother would take the ring up to the mountain so I wouldn’t be caught with it. I got up first, leaving Lindsey to sleep a little longer, I went downstairs and made breakfast, avocado toast, eggs, coffee, her favorite.
“Whats all this?” I looked up to find Lindsey, already gotten ready for the day, standing at the bottom of the stairs, “Where is everyone?”
“Part of the gift,” I said, as she sat down at the dining table, “They all wanted to go shopping apparently and I didn’t want to get you up.”
“Thanks baby,” she said, pecking my lips before we did go to our food.
After breakfast Lindsey cleaned up while I got ready. When I came downstairs, I was excited to start dragging Lindsey into the day, almost overly excited.
“You ready?” I asked.
“For what?” She laughed as she looked up from her phone, her dazzling smile and cute laugh almost making me pass out completely.
“You really are so beautiful you know,” I said dopy, as she stood up, I pulled her into a tight hug, and she pulled back, scattering kisses on my face that made me laugh.
“Stop, it tickles!” I giggled and she laughed again as we embraced, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she said head on my shoulder, “So... what are we doing today? This is the ist I’ve seen you plan for anything.”
“I know,” I laughed, “All you have to do is follow,” I smiled.
“Oh god,” she laughed, “Is this gonna be a mess?”
“I hope not,” I smiled, pulling her to the front door, “Now come on, let’s go!”
Our first stop was the ice rink at the mall, I hated ice skating, but Lindsey was a Colorado native who adored these winter sports. I didn’t want to rent the whole rink because I felt like that’d give the proposal away, and anyway, it was a good excuse to get to the next activity when it got crowded.
We skated for at least an hour and a half, and I never got use to it, fumbling and falling over my own feet as Lindsey skated right by, laughing as she watched me absolutely bomb.
“Okay, as much as I love skating, I love you more and cannot watch you face plant on the ice anymore,” she laughed as she hoisted me up from the ground.
“Thank god,” I mumbled as we got off the ice, thanking the front desk before leaving.
“What next muestro,” she asked and I chuckled.
“You’ll see,” I replied.
Our next stop was the Red Butte Garden, a beautiful garden with many types of evergreens and flowers, mostly inside greenhouses due to the cold weather. But it was beautiful, and after buying some hot chocolate, we were able to spent hours in there looking around. I found ways to sneak around a bit, going to the bathroom at one point just to check everyone was almost in place.
Lindsey and I spent hours in that garden, something she just adored. After that we went to go get churros before heading home to watch a movie or two before we’d head to the mountain trail.
By the time the second movie was over, I stood up, “One last thing babe.”
“It’s almost midnight, what else could you possibly have?” She asked with a laugh.
“I know your tired, but I need you to get on some really warm clothes and then put this blindfold on.
“A blindfold?” She asked as I tossed it at her, “That’s a little weird,” she smirked and I rolled my eyes.
“We’re going out Linds, don’t get any ideas, trust me okay.”
She sighed, “I’m tired, but now I’m interested, I’ll bite.”
“Okay, it’s literally a two minute walk, just trust me okay,” I said.
“I’ve been doing that up to this point so I might as well,” she laughed and I kissed her cheek, holding her hand as I guided her up the mountain, it was perfect, 10 to 12.
I was so happy to see the whole team on the mountain, both Lindsey’s family and mine standing there too in coats and warm clothing.
“You warm enough babe?” I asked as we got to the top, me waving at everyone with a huge smile, this was successful as far as I was concerned.
“Yeah, can I take it off now?” She asked.
“Yeah go ahead,” I said, and she did, of course she was facing the arch looming out to the moonlight.
“Wow,” she said breathlessly, “This is beautiful,” she said.
“Turn around,” I said next to her.
“Hmmm?” She asked confused.
“Look behind you,” I whispered, she did, gasping.
“OH MY GOD,” she yelled and everyone laughed.
She kissed my lips before running around to greet everyone, we managed to get around everyone until Ashlyn stood on a rock to count us down to midnight. We all had champagne in our hands, ready for the new year.
I stood there with Lindsey, my mother passing behind my back and dripping the ring in my back pocket. We looked out from the arch towards the night sky.
“3...2...1... HAPPY NEW YEAR!” We yelled, I pulled Lindsey in for a kiss, the fireworks sparking just at the right moment and as we pulled apart she smiled, I leaned in close.
“Look at the fireworks,” I said, backing up behind her and finally being able to do what I’d planned for weeks.
“Will,” she read with the first boom, cameras clicking and recording, “You,” she read next, still not getting it until the last boom, “marry me.”
“Linds,” I said and she spun around, eyes wide as she clasped her hand over her mouth in shock, “Lindsey Michelle Horan. Ive been with you for four years and in that time I’ve realized that I want to be with you for the rest of my life, through thick and thin, good times and bad. I want to watch us grow, I want to be with you and only you. And so now I’m asking, if you, Lindsey, will marry me?”
I looked at her waiting, and through tears and a gasps she managed to respond, “Yes,” she replied, coming over as I slipped the ring on her finger, standing up and wrapping her in a hug, pushing our lips together amongst the wolf whistles and cheers.
“This was the present?” She asked wiping tears away and I nodded, “I love you.”
“Love you too,” I smiled, tearing up myself.
“And you were all in on this?!” She yelled at them, gaining laughs from them as they nodded.
“Nice holiday surprise then huh?” I asked.
“The best,” she smiled.

Hero (JJ Maybank Imagine) - Disney Day Three
Hey guys! Day Three of my 30 Day Disney Challenge is here! This challenge is going to be 30 days of imagines inspired by Disney songs. I’m really excited to be doing this and I promise I will try to stay more on top of it than I did with my last challenge.
These are not song fics, but imagines inspired by songs.
Day Three (October 30th) - Hero (Unplugged) (Starstruck) - JJ Imagine
Word Count : 1499 Words
Sorry I thought I had this queued to post and apparently I did not.
________________________________________________________
Even though JJ and you didn’t always get along, you knew that he was the only one you could talk to. The other Pogues always had amazing home lives and you didn’t want them to look at you any differently. Deep down, you knew that they wouldn’t, but you always worried anyways. JJ was the one exception. He was tortured at home and he was loyal to a tee. He would never tell anyone your secret.
The day that you finally told him what was going on was intense. You had gone through the ringer at home and hid at the beach to calm down. The sand burned against your skin, but you had to come up with a plan to explain to your friends how you got these bruises. Usually you only had to lie about one or two, but today your skin was painted in this ugly shade black and blue. Tears were slipping rapidly down your face as you hugged your knees to your chest. How would you explain this to your friends?
When JJ got to the beach he was already in a bad mood. He thought taking the day off from his friends would help clear his head, but then he saw you out of the corner of his eyes. He scoffed at first, knowing that the happy-go-lucky girl would run up to him as soon as you noticed he was there. He had two options, say hi before you had the chance to annoy him or ignore you completely. He sighed, knowing the right thing to do. Even though you could annoy him, he still had a soft spot for you.
As he walked up, he heard your sniffling. It shocked him to see you like this because the only version he had ever seen of you was bubbly and filled with bliss. He never thought you could be like this. Then the bruises caught his eye. His breath hitched as he put two and two together. The way you fidgeted when John B asked how you got the bruises. The dismissiveness and resent in your voice when they would ask if you were okay. It all made sense now. He was angry at himself for not noticing sooner.
“Y/n?” he asked softly. Your heart stopped as he said your name. You had been caught red handed. You turned your head slowly to look at him. Tears cascaded down your face as he saw the real you for the first time. He didn’t know whether to reach forward and hug you or to call Kiara. She was always better with the emotional stuff than him. He sensed that you needed him right now though. He took a seat next to you and said nothing.
“I’m fine JJ,” you muttered softly. You didn’t look at him when you said that. You couldn’t bring yourself too. The embarrassment was too intense to look him in the eyes.
“You don’t look fine…” he awkwardly said back. You bursted out into tears as he said that. He cursed under his breath, wishing that he knew how to handle the situation. He remembered what Kie always did when he was distressed and pulled you into a hug. It was awkward at first. JJ and you had never hugged before in your two years of friendship, but as soon as your arms slipped around him and your face burrowed into his shoulder, all the awkwardness dispersed. His hands found the way to your back and held you tightly. With you in his arms, it was like he could read your mind all of the sudden. He could tell you anything that you wanted or needed to hear. “You’re okay now. I won’t let anyone else hurt you.”
After you settled down a little bit, he released you from his hold. He let you explain what it was like at home. He listened as you told him your fears about the others knowing. Every word you said, made sense to him. He went through the exact same thing, only he was more cynical than you could ever be.
“I had no idea. You always seemed so cheerful,” he muttered. It made you happy that he thought you were cheerful.
“Whenever I’m sad, I always promise to myself that I’ll be happier and work harder,” you explained. You never wanted anyone to know that your life was hard. You didn’t want the people you cared about most to worry about you when they all had so much on their plates already. “Don’t tell the others, okay?”
You watched him nod sadly. He knew that there was no point of trying to convince you. He had been there before and even though the Pogues wouldn’t treat you any differently, it didn’t erase the fear and guilt. Plus he kind of liked the idea of a secret that only he knew about.
That night when you guys went back to the Chateau, you had forgotten to make up a story to tell you friends. Kiara ran up to you immediately and asked if you were okay. JJ shoved her back a little bit, not allowing her to get a closer look.
“I was teaching her how to surf and she took a huge fall,” he muttered. “She’s still shaken up so give her some space.”
You stared at him as he lied for you. The both of you knew that if she looked closer the story wouldn’t add up quite as well. You smiled at him as he tossed you one of his hoodies to hide some of the marks. You slipped it on and grinned at the soft smell of him that lingered on the fabric. The more he did for you, the closer you two got. You could feel yourself falling for him. It was as unstoppable as gravity.
A few weeks passed and JJ spent more and more time with you. Usually he would get annoyed with you after a while, but now he made it his own mission to make sure you didn’t get hurt. Every time you would cry, he would tell you about how the two of you could get out of the OBX. He would fill your head with ideas of Mexico, but realistically, he would take you anywhere you wanted to go as soon as he had the money to do so. He wanted to be your hero.
One night, he was caught up at work. The chateau was a little too crowded and you were feeling a little overwhelmed. Over your better judgement, you went back home for the night. The place was a mess and your dad sat on the couch with a beer in hand. You looked at your feet as you explained where you had been. He told you that he didn’t care and told you to get him another beer. Your voice was shaky, but something about JJ made you realize that you didn’t have to stand for this. Even though the two of you were ordinary people with just a heart and soul, you could stop this. You told him no for the first time in your life.
The rest of it happened so quickly. His fist hitting your cheek. His hand wrapping around your throat. Your gasps for air as he threw you to the ground. You listened to him yell at you to get out. He didn’t have to tell you twice. You ran quickly out the door, but right into JJ’s body. He had heard from J.B. that you went home and had come to check on you. Your arms slipped around him and you sobbed into his chest, still trying to catch your breath. His heart stopped as you clung to him. If only he left work on time, maybe you wouldn’t have gone home. He placed a kiss on your forehead and muttered apologies over and over, even though none of this was his fault.
He snuck you back into his house. It was similar to yours, messy and unkempt. You didn’t mind though. He shut the bedroom door behind him and turned on the light, seeing the bruising for the first time. Your neck was purple where your dad had grabbed you. The more he looked at it, the angrier he got. He was angry at you for going home. He was angry at your dad for doing this to you. However, he was the angriest at himself for not being there. He wiped away your tears carefully and stared at your broken face.
“I’m sorry,” you said softly. It broke his heart that you were in so much pain and you still felt like you had to apologize to him. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours, telling you that you never had to be sorry when it came to him. He would always be there for you, no matter what. He would be everything you ever needed.

Fiesta!!!
The date was May 30th, one of the days that fell into the month that celebrated Quetzalcoatl and some of her fellow gods. The human master of Chaldea, Rex, decided that it would be the perfect day to celebrate a birthday for her. Following that, he worked with many of the other servants to help make it a special day for her. Starting first thing in the morning.
Quetz, waking up and stretching: mmmm!
Rex, hugging her: feliz cumpleaños, mi corazon!
Quetz: ah mi amor! Muchos gracias!
Rex: are you ready for the greatest day ever! Or atleast here in chaldea anyways!
Quetz: si! I can't wait to see what you planned.
Quetzalcoatl, was a very smart goddess. Under normal circumstances, it'd be pretty much impossible to keep a secret from her. But for the sake of her celebration, she turned a blind eye to Rex's birthday plans.
Rex: well good! Cause they start now! *finger snap!*
And with a snap of his fingers, the robotic ninja, Kato Danzo appeared! With a tray of food.
Kato: hello, Quetzalcoatl! I bring freshly made breakfast in bed for you and your husband!
Quetz: oh my! Muchos gracias, Senorita Kato!
Kato: of course!
She placed the tray onto the bed and disappeared as quickly as she first appeared.
For Quetz, a traditional meal of huevos rancheros! And for Rex, a breakfast burrito. And a BIG stack of pancakes for the two to share. Along with a cup of coffee for the goddess, and orange juice for the master.
Quetz: rancheros! One of my favorites! Gracias mi amor!
Rex: of course mi corazon!
After they ate breakfast, the two got dressed for the day!
Quetz: what else do you have planned mi amor!
Rex: oh just wait and see!
Not long after
Quetz: WOOOH! This looks amazing!
Rex: of course mi corazon! Anything for you!
The two were flying on Quetz's pterosaur, right above a very unique environment. As per Rex's request, a special simulation was made. A patchwork of the various jungles from all throughout the world. You could see the jungles of the Lacandon, the Amazon, the Congo, the Backcountry, the cloud forest, the sinharaja, and so many more!
Quetz: wow mi amor! Flying through these jungles is amazing!
Rex: anything for you mi corazon!
Throughout the flight, they'd slow down and get lower to get a good look at the various plants and animals that called these forests home. In every patch, completely unique but very similar animals could be seen.
Quetz: so many animals... so different but also so... similar!
Rex: yeah! It's convergent evolution! Y'know about it?
Quetz: maybe... but explain anyways!
Rex: ok then, mi corazon! Convergent evolution, is when we see very different and unrelated animals evolve the same adaptations because they fill the same niche in similar environments. Like how in the jungles you would've called home, there's Jaguars, while in the Congo, there's Leopards!
Quetz: ooooh! How efficient!
Rex: yeah! You can even see it throughout various time periods! In place of animals like Grizzlies in North America, there was T-rex!
Quetz: you really like this stuff huh, mi amor? You seem almost as excited as when you talk about me!
Rex: yeah... animals are interesting to me...
After they ended the simulation, they returned to their room for the gift giving!
Many other servants had gifts for the goddess. Pretty much everyone manged to get her something. Some gave more simple gifts, such as clothes and accessories. Others gave more practical things, like appliances and the like. The more extravagant ones, like Ozymandias and Gilgamesh piled on a few riches. But a few did give more personal gifts.
Some of the stand out personal gifts included: a book of various fighting techniques from Murasaki, a portrait of the couple from Da Vinci, some beautiful jades from Ishtar, an amazing golden cage with flowers inside from Ereshkigal, some new training weights from Penth, a very big snake plush from Gorgon and so on.
Even other masters gave gifts. Vy and her servants baked a cake that resembled one from a very popular game. Val gave some good snake print socks. Julius and his servants gave the couple some gift cards. Quin gave Quetz a scrap book of her adventures, the last 5 pages of it was filled with just pics of the couple together. Quin also gave new training dummies for practice!
Then there was Quin's wife BB
BB: there should be a portal opening to somewhere full of danger and excitement soon! Along with those other "special" gifts for night-time.
Quetz: wait what?!
Rex: huh?!
A portal opens up behind the pair, and they fall in.
Both: aaaahhhh!
BB, from outside the portal: don't worry! I'll use my time powers so you'll still have plenty of time once you're back!
The couple ended up on a tropical island, filled with creatures that shouldn't be around any longer.
Rex: uh... do those fences look... familiar to you?
Quetz: si... from a... movie I think?
RAAAAAHHH!!!
Rex: what was that!?
Quetz: I'm not sure!
They were sent to the fictional island of Isla Nublar from the jurassic park series! They had interesting and wild adventures before coming back to Chaldea!
(That adventure deserves it's own story tho, so stay tuned for that!)
Quetz: wooh! BB was right! Very dangerous.
Rex: yeah... but now it's time for the Fiesta!
Quetz: yay!
They went to a huge room, reserved specifically for the party! Every chaldea servant was there! There was food, drinks, music and everything you need for a killer Fiesta!
Rex, on stage with a microphone: Hola everyone! We are here today to celebrate the birthday of the greatest goddess in chaldea, Quetzalcoatl!
The crowd cheered! Everyone was hyped for the party!
Quetz: yay! I love seeing everyone happy for mi Fiesta!
Rex: so let's get this party started!
Crowd: YEEEEEEEEAH!!!!
It was one of the biggest parties chaldea ever had! Everyone danced and drank and had a roaring good time! But of course, Quetzalcoatl had the best time! She spent the time with her husband, eating delicious food and getting absolutely wasted!
Rex: mi corazon, don't drink too much now. You'll need a clear head for later.
Quetz, blushy: I'll be fine mi amor! Where's the cake?! I want my cake!
Rex: wait just a bit for that!
Then one of the more recent servants, Kijyo Koyo, came with the piñata she made!
Kijyo: hey! It's piñata time!
Quetz: ohhhh! A piñata!
Of course, as the birthday girl Quetz got first swing at the piñata! As tradition, she was blindfolded and spun around a bit before she was let loose on the piñata!
Rex: that's an interesting choice for a piñata Kijyo, why that?
Kijyo: well I know Quetz hates her brother, so a piñata like that will let her anger loose!
Rex: how if she doesn't see it?
Kijyo: oh she doesn't know? I thought I told her already!
Rex: seems not.
Kijyo: ok then! Then I'll tell her now!
Rex: wait a se-
Kijyo: Quetz! The Piñata is a black jaguar! So you can let loose any anger!
Upon hearing this, Quetz dropped the sitck.
Rex: mi corazon? What are you doing?
She also removed the blindfold, and pulled out her sword.
Rex: n-no no! Quetz you don't have to do it like that!
She then swung at the paper mache cat with her macana! Knocking it on the ground, as she proceeded to continue on with that for some time. Once she finally finished there was no piñata left to speak of. Just the candy that came inside!
Quetz: gracias Kijyo! That did help!
Kijyo: ...right! Glad for that!
Rex: mi corazon... you seemed to have sobered up already.
Quetz: the rage I feel for my brother is more powerful then any alcohol.
Rex: ok then...
After the party was another event! Of course, as Quetz loves lucha libre, she loves sparring with her fellow fighters! So Rex set up a lucha tournament! Quetz was to face a gauntlet of other servants in hand to hand combat! After each match, she'd have as much time to rest as she needed before the next! BB needed to use her time powers a bit more to make sure there was plenty of time.
The order for her to face was Ishtar, Bradamante, Medusa, Musashi, Nyalter, Raikou, Lartoria, Scathach, Penth, Martha, and finally Astraea!
Every match was a spectacle! Every opponent Quetz faced was a forced to be reckoned with!
Some matches got pretty close but in the end, Quetzalcoatl came out victorious!
Rex: Quetzalcoatl takes the victory!
Quetz: yay!
She was awarded a wrestling belt for her win!
After that, the day started to wind down. It was night, and many servants were partied out!
Quetz: mi amor, I've loved all that you've done! But... what about your present for me?
Rex: oh that!? I'm saving that for last! Just the two of us, in private. You know I like doing things between us in a more intimate fashion...
Quetz: oh! Now I can't wait!
A/N: there's Quetz's birthday Fiesta! I've tried to make it the best day I possibly can for her! Soon I'll write the more personal and intimate one between just me and her!
(And no I don't mean intimate as in dirty ok!)

JANHVI KAPOOR, CIS WOMAN, TWENTY-FIVE, SHE / HER  ⟨  ✽  ⟩   hey, you haven’t bumped into  kareena puri  lately, have you? they have been living here for the past  two years  and during that time, locals have gotten to know them as  charismatic  &  creative.  a little birdie told me they can be quite  stubborn  &  opinionated  though. explains why they’re an online fashion brand owner and designer .  they really remind me of  morning beach walks, sketchbooks filled with new designs, the sound of a sewing machine running.  if you’re ever looking for them, i bet you can find them around port briar lighthouse.
hi again, it’s tally ! this is my second baby kareena !! she’s very new to me and it’s pretty exciting bc i tend to just recycle characters kjhfgkj again, if you’d like to plot, please reach out to me on dms, or you can like this and i’ll reach out. you can also talk to me on discord if you’d prefer that. ( gowon face insurance company#8416 ) also pls excuse how messy this is, i havent written a proper full intro in a while.

kareena puri
march 30th, 1996 - 25 yrs old ; aries
cis woman, she/her, bisexual (closeted to her family, not so much to anyone else)
born in mumbai, india. raised in seattle, washington.
currently residing in port briar, maine
pinterest board: here
TW / CW: none, other than a controlling family, which idk if it even should be tagged but yuh
kareena knew it, she was lucky compared to others. she had it better than some of her peers, and she recognized that privilege. but if she could trade her family life for a “normal” one, she would in the quick snap of a finger.
kareena’s family was pretty much old money. she came from a long line of doctors in almost every medical field, and they own so many private hospitals and clinics in many countries. if you happen to hear the Puri family name, you probably would associate it with these things: a big hospital that you probably drove by with your car or a surgeon that your doctor wanted to refer you to.
every child in the family was expected to go to med school. it was the only way to keep the family legacy and pride going. of course, the more new generations came in the family, the more there were those who decided to take different fields of work instead. and of course, the eldest members in the family would always voice their disappointment in them, and would always make sure to remind them that they’re a disgrace no matter how successful they are in whatever field they went into.
kareena didn’t know what she was doing at the young age of sixteen. her parents would boast about how she would be a successful doctor when she grows up, just like her older siblings, and how her younger siblings would be the same as well. all kareena did was nod and smile. she didn’t want this.
the thing is, she was a naturally great student with really good grades, and yet her parents would be disappointed if she got a B+ or even an A- on a subject every once in a while. she didn’t get it. she thought she was doing her best. although the complaining about her report cards was getting a bit too much coming from her mother, and that’s when kareena really started to not give a fuck. yes, she still got good grades for her own sake, but she started to do whatever she wanted. she hung out with kids her parents would call a bad influence, and started to skip some school days or go to parties on the weekends. it was fun and liberating to her.
once her senior year was over and kareena was graduated with a high school diploma, her family was back at it again, trying to get her to apply to all the notable medical schools out there. she had protested about it, and family fights ensued, and with some threats, kareena was forced into applying. next school year, she was in another city, studying to be a surgeon, and her mind wasn’t into it at all. she only lasted one year before she decided to drop out and transfer to FIDM, a fashion school in L.A, instead.
kareena has always been into fashion. the way she dressed would tell you so. how she was always on the latest fashion, and how she would have so many sketchbooks and scrapbooks of fashion related things. she loved making her own clothes at home with her sewing machine. her mother would tell her that it’s a nice hobby, but she never guessed that her daughter would want to pursue it as a career. the color drained out of her face when she saw what kareena had done. she was angry and disappointed, and mostly worried about what the rest of the family would say, more than she cared about her daughter’s wants and needs. kareena, however, didn’t care. she was happy. she moved out to be closer to campus, and soon enough after graduation, she left everything behind and decided to go somewhere quieter: port briar, maine. this was completely different from everything she was used to, it was so quiet and small, but she loved it. she finally feels at peace with herself.
now, kareena is a successful fashion designer. she started an online business, and it has been booming, with fashion influencers promoting her work. she was hoping that someday she would get to do bigger things, like making custom items for celebrities and being featured in fashion magazines and fashion weeks. she could only wish and work towards that for now.
and even with all of that, even when kareena had picked herself up from the ground on her own and built her own business, her family still didn’t approve. they still pretended to care about her, but would make sure to remind her of how disappointed they are in her and the path she’d taken. they would sit and wonder what it would’ve been like if she continued to go to med school, and how successful she could’ve been. and all kareena would do in response is smile and say that she’s successful anyway, but at least now she’s doing something she actually loves.

born in mumbai, india. moved to seattle, washington when she was still a baby, and was raised there for the rest of her life, all while still visiting family back home.
kareena is the middle child of 5 siblings. two older brothers and two younger sisters
she is bisexual, and she’s pretty open about it. except to her family. shes not out to them
she believes in working hard, but she also believes that everyone deserves to have fun and get a break every once in a while. she currently is the only main person doing all the work for her business, but she’s hoping to soon hire anyone who has the same interests as her
her designs are mostly evening wear dresses and such. think teuta matoshi or marionela type of dresses, all flowy and puffy, giving fantasy feels
altho i would say her success is more like early hope macaulay, when she was still starting out. if no one is familiar with her, she is an irish fashion and textile designer who got famous for her knit wear on instagram, and she’s p young !! u might recognize her work if u look her up <3
she currently lives alone port briar, with her rented home facing the beach. exactly how she likes it. it was different and definitely not lavish like her home growing up, but she liked it better. she could’ve lived somewhere more expensive, but she didn’t want that.
owns a studio where she usually works. there is more space for her there than what she used to have at home. all the design process, sewing and even photoshoots take place there usually
if not working, kareena could be found at the rocky beaches near the port’s lighthouse or off somewhere on an adventure. she is always here to have a good time
honestly kareena is still such a new character for me, so if i think of any other hcs, i’ll add them here
.  ∘ ∗   :   🐝   𝙲𝙾𝙽𝙽𝙴𝙲𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂   …
friends from school, could be from seattle or L.A: kareena would’ve kept in contact with those friends tbh shes the type of person to keep her friends around. even if they were just added to her snapchat or followed on instagram. she would keep up with them
toxic relationship / gf: THIS
exes ?? we could definitely plot this out
high school ex perhaps 👀
FWB: no strings attached
neighbors: she lives on sea sprite lane
family members? kareena would be hoping that left them all behind in the past, but it can’t be denied that she has a big family and she could possibly run into any of them at any moment
omg crush perhaps ! idm if it’s one sided, and it could either be kareena having feelings or the other person
a friend she had a falling out with: she probably met this person two years ago when she first moved here. something might’ve happened and one thing after another, they dropped each other and it was probably the worst falling out for both of them
clients / customers for her business perhaps. or maybe a helping hand!!
literally anything u wanna do, lets gooo

twenty questions
tagged by: @dustofinsanity (thank you so much my dear!!!!!!)
what do you prefer to be called name-wise? honestly I’ll probably answer to most things as long as they aren’t mean. but ash, ashley, doe, those seem to be the solid three I’m known by around here when is your birthday? november 30th!  where do you live? in a tiny, backwoods cow-town smack dab in the middle of california three things you are doing right now? filling this questionnaire out, eating dinner I just finished cooking, and petting sadie with my foot since she’s curled up at my feet after she finished her dinner four fandoms that have peaked your interest. I guess I can go with four I’ve been heavily involved with, even though there’s plenty more than that since I’m a little fangirl at heart, but wrestling (obviously), black sails, the night shift, and pirates of the caribbean how has the pandemic been treating you? uh, I mean, it hasn’t been great and I’ve had to deal with some pretty bad shit as all of us have, and probably some of my worst mental health battles I’ve had to face in about a year or so, but honestly? I just kind of count my blessings these days. lucky to still be employed, even if my pay got a little cut it was nothing that keeps me from paying my bills. all I had to do was take away a few luxury things to make ends meet, and that’s a lot, LOT less than other people have had to do. so yeah, it’s been pretty shitty, this year has been bad news after bad news both personally and globally, but whatever. it could be worse. a song you can’t stop listening to right now? it is no-joke like a four-way tie. a bunch of good songs were in my discover weekly and I’ve been playing four of them on non-stop repeat one after the other. oh! and one my best friend showed to me. this baby don’t cry by k. flay, rock bottom by grandson, ok ok by hoko, and insurgents by the poolside by denny recommend a movie. i’ve jumped into holiday mood early af because tbh I need the holiday cheer, so keeping in that theme, I suggest the holiday with jude law because DUH how old are you? thirty! school, university, occupation, other? had some college, been working in my current career for the past ten years. hoping to pursue a promotion finally since my supervisors have been telling me for the past eight years that I need to promote do you prefer heat or cold? cold pleeeaaaase! I’m a radiator and put off heat like nobody’s business. I’m always warm. name one fact others may not know about you. this is hard because I just constantly blab everything about me, and I have two people who literally know EVERYTHING about me lmfao uhhh I guess... something people may not know... uhhh... on my dad’s side of the family one half was ashkenazi jewish who had to flee germany to avoid the holocaust, where they went to live in italy, while the other half were nazi’s committing some pretty bad stuff that my family won’t talk about, even to this day. funny how two descendants eventually met in america and fell in love, huh? and when they DID fall in love one of them was half italian and in the mafia! so I always joke that my bubbly cheerful self is a descendent of some pretty evil shit, and it feels like a nice little stab at those shitty ancestors of mine. are you shy? uhhh yeah and no??? like. I think I’m shy, since all interaction terrifies me and exhausts me, but everyone tells me I’m a social butterfly? and I’ve noticed in places I’m comfortable and confident, I do tend to be less shy and more involved and interactive? but I think I can be shy. a lot of waiting for other people to initiate because I’m too afraid to, struggling to talk or carry a conversation at times... I don’t know I think I’m overcomplicating this answer LOL preferred pronouns? she/her!  biggest pet peeves? gatekeeping, to be perfectly honest. I stopped following wrestling back in 2014 because when I first tried to get into the fandom, someone was trying to gatekeep a wrestler I also liked and had started making content for and they made me feel like shit for liking them, and I absolutely hated it. that’s why it took me an entire two years of quietly lurking in the wrestling fandom before I finally got brave enough to come out of the woodwork, and I’m grateful I’ve been so well received this time around. but now I’m hyper-sensitive to gatekeeping and I fucking hate it. no joke. and since it’s a pet peeve and I’m irked just remembering all that bs I went through, ima say I’m only a part of fandom to share my love of whatever that thing is with other people who love it too. I can’t stand anyone who thinks they have some sort of “claim” over a celebrity or a show or anything. get a different identity that isn’t wrapped up in that thing and stop seeing it as a threat when other people like it. be happy someone else is as passionate about that thing as you are and make a friend. damn. what is your favorite “dere” type? I’m pretty sure this is something with anime or that originated from anime, right? unfortunately I don’t know what they are so I can’t say LOL I don’t even know if I’m right about it coming from anime tbh rate your life from 1-10, 1 being crappy and 10 being the best it could be. 4, 5, but I’m putting in the foundation now and working to make it a 6, 7, or possibly 8 by a year or two from now. what’s your main blog? funnily enough? this one. my OTHER blog that was my main blog since I joined tumblr in 2009 got shoved to the side for this one last year LOL I assumed I’d log onto this blog once in awhile, but now it took over my whole damn life so here I am I guess list your side blogs and what they’re used for. I’m going to be fair and ONLY list my active ones because I have a few side blogs from when I role-played on tumblr that I haven’t touched in over a year. @doedreamss is my non-wrestling blog that WAS my main blog before this one, @cowboysht is my archive where I am ONLY putting my original gifsets/analysis/fanfiction so that one day I can offer people a blog of just my original work and no other posts (the queue is very slowly catching up I think I’ve queued posts up until june this year), @illfatedandstarcrossed is just a non-frequently used outlet for me to mope and dump emotions when I get sad about my relationship things (like a diary! but... public? and not my original thoughts? LOL), and then I have one more blog but it’s locked and private and it’s LITERALLY my diary where I can just vent when I got shit I wanna get off my chest but don’t necessarily want people to see it. Is there something people need to know about you before becoming friends? I probably won’t talk to you daily, tbh. I may not even talk to you weekly. socializing takes a lot out of me, on top of an already energy draining day-to-day in my personal life. I have a handful of people I connect with who I talk with frequently, but unfortunately as much as I’d love for it to be endless, I have to keep that list short for my own sanity. my infrequent conversations mean absolutely nothing about my lack of interest in you or how much I care about you. my granny once said I would be the perfect friend for someone you only want to talk to twice a month and she thought she was insulting me, but deadass I just said “YEAH! EXACTLY!!”
tagging: I really like this one so I WANT to tag people, but I feel braindead and also just want to post it cause I feel like I am definitely gonna forget to tag someone tbh aaaaahh okay okay I’m just gonna throw some names out there but please don’t feel pressured to do this (it is TWENTY questions) @kennyhoemega, @champbucks, @superkickparty, @adampage, @hintsofsunshine, @audreyhrnes, @sheslikealostflower, @lancearchers, @champnick, @janelanutella, @edgecution, @superrezzy00, @wardl0w, @writinglionqueen, @orangechuckiet, @hungmanhorsecarriage, @icouldbesus, @thatnerdwriter, @rampagewriting, @snarkandsarcasmftw, @tetsuyainthesky AND I DUNNO JUST ANYONE WHO WANTS TO OK I LOVE YOU ALL BYE

If There’s a Place I Could Be - Chapter Sixty Nine
If There’s a Place I Could Be Tag
November 30th, 1995
Remy sat in the back of class, fiddling with his pencil and wishing he were anywhere else. He was stuck writing an essay about some stupid book or another that he had skimmed just enough of to know the gist and talk about it in English. He had griped to Toby the night before about the upcoming essay and Toby had just shrugged. “You gotta get through it, Rem, even though it sucks,” he said. “Tell you what. If you finish the essay, no matter what grade you get on it, I’ll give you twenty minutes of time just the two of us to do whatever you want.”
With a sigh, Remy sat forward and wrote the essay based on the outline he had barely worked on. Much as he hated this, he’d do anything for some time with Toby. He craved positive attention more than anything else in the world. Even if he didn’t know what to do with it, he liked it.
  August 5th, 2002
Remy growled into the paper he was staring at, willing words to form on the page without him writing them. One of the things he hated most about school was the papers, and now, here he was, trying to write something purely because he wanted to, and he was experiencing the same block that he always had: finding the beginning.
He felt a presence behind him just before the words were spoken into his ear. “Something bugging you, Rem?”
Remy yipped and scowled at Emile when he started snickering. “Not funny,” Remy said. “I’m trying to write something serious here, but I can’t do that with you looking over my shoulder!”
“What are you trying to write?” Emile asked.
Remy turned pink and looked away. It was embarrassing to admit that he was trying to write a love letter. “It’s...a letter,” Remy said slowly.
Emile frowned, and Remy knew it was only a matter of time...Emile gasped. Yep, Remy was done for. “Rem, are you trying to write something for me?” Emile asked, grinning.
“Shut up,” Remy growled. “I wanted to show I appreciated you, but I can’t even get a single word out onto the page.”
“Aw, Rem, I already know you love me,” Emile said, sitting down next to Remy at the table. “It’s okay. You don’t have to do anything to prove yourself to me.”
“But what if I want to?” Remy asked, turning to Emile. “I want to show my love in a way that you clearly understand and can remember fondly. And you seem to like words a lot, so I thought a letter might work, but I can’t write it!”
“Hey, Rem, I appreciate words, but they’re not necessary,” Emile said. “If you struggle to say why you love me, that’s okay. I know that you love me, and that’s enough.”
“It doesn’t feel like enough,” Remy said, resting his head on the table. “I mean, how do I know that you know? How can I take your word for it? I don’t have reason to believe you’re lying, but...I still worry.”
“That’s okay,” Emile said, putting one of his hands on one of Remy’s. “It’s okay to worry. It means you care. But if you only ever believe one thing I say, I want it to be that I love you.”
Remy moved to kiss Emile’s hand and mumbled “I know,” into Emile’s knuckles after a quick peck. “I know that, logically. But...but my emotions are telling me you’re going to get tired of me and leave me one day. And I really, really don’t want that.”
“Emotions are fickle things,” Emile said simply, shrugging. “What did you want to say in the letter, besides that you love me, obviously?”
Remy looked at Emile with a frown. “You want me to...”
“Well, you seem to verbalize better than you write,” Emile said with a shrug. “What did you want to say?”
Remy shifted. “It’s embarrassing, and sappy...”
“I love sappy, Rem,” Emile said with a small grin. “Come on, I wanna hear what you have to say, if you’re comfortable sharing.”
Remy turned red, but said, “I wanted to talk about how your smile makes my day. Like, I get you to laugh at a dumb pun or a silly joke and it makes everything seem a little less pointless and bleak. And you’re so, so impossibly kind. It blows me away, to this day, knowing how kind you are. If I could be a tenth as good as you are I’d be perfectly content knowing I’m making a difference. And when you laugh, oh, I wish you could see it, Emile. Your eyes go squinty and your shoulders shake and there’s just so much pure joy in the action. Your laughter is positively contagious, and you light up entire rooms with it. I...I know it sounds silly, but you mean so much to me, Emile. If you left, I know I could move forward, but I’m not sure I would truly move on for a long time. I...I love you. And it’s scary, and I don’t know what to do with myself half the time, but if you’re here with me, it’ll all be okay. Because we look out for each other. And we’d never, ever betray each other’s trust.”
Emile looked so touched and blown away by Remy’s words, and Remy chuckled weakly. “I guess it’s pretty gay, huh?”
The resulting laugh he got in response to that had Remy giggling right back. And then Emile moved forward and softly kissed Remy, and Remy felt every ounce of love he felt for Emile reciprocated. Remy laughed into the kiss, and he could feel Emile’s grin, and soon enough, the two of them were out of their chairs, trying to get closer to each other. Emile had an arm wrapped around Remy’s waist and his hand rested at the small of Remy’s back. Remy had his arms draped over Emile’s shoulders, and never once did they break contact. It took Remy’s breath away, and not in the sense of being unable to breathe just because of the kiss. No, Emile just loved him so much that Remy couldn’t understand it.
When they finally broke the kiss, Remy held onto Emile tightly, still feeling an overwhelming amount of emotions. Emile started rubbing circles on Remy’s back and Remy laughed even as tears came to his eyes. “I’m so weepy recently,” Remy almost-whined. “I don’t like it.”
“I don’t mind,” Emile said with a shrug. “It means you feel safe enough to display emotion. I’m honored...I mean, I’m proud that you would trust me that much.”
Remy hummed, holding Emile a little tighter. “I definitely feel safe around you, Emile,” he mumbled.
Emile laughed and slowly removed Remy’s arms from his shoulders. “I’m glad, Rem, but don’t fall asleep on me, okay? We have to go to the shelter in a little bit, remember?”
“Oh, yeah,” Remy said. “I almost forgot.”
“I figured. I’m almost like a walking, talking planner, though, so it’s okay,” Emile laughed. “I make up for your forgetfulness in spades.”
“Ha. Ha ha,” Remy said, sarcasm dripping from his tongue. “You’re absolutely hilarious, Emile.”
Emile snickered and Remy rolled his eyes. “What?”
“You’re just...so...you,” Emile said. “And I love it.”
Remy turned red. “I...What does that even mean?!”
“You just...never fail to make me smile, I guess,” Emile said with a small shrug. “I don’t know. This whole thing just feels...right. And even when you’re sarcastic, you’re still trying to be considerate of others. It’s nice to see you like that. Kind and funny and just...being your authentic self.”
Remy sputtered. How exactly was he supposed to respond to that? It was a genuine compliment, and he didn’t do genuine compliments! Not directed towards himself, at any rate! “Not allowed!” Remy exclaimed.
Emile laughed. “Remy, give it up, I’m going to compliment you and there’s nothing you can do about it,” he warned.
“There’s gotta be something I can do to make you stop,” Remy said, crossing his arms stubbornly.
“Not really,” Emile said, smile slipping off his face. “Why don’t you want to be complimented?”
“It feels weird,” Remy said, wrinkling his nose. “I don’t like it.”
“How does it feel weird?” Emile asked.
Remy shrugged. How did he explain this? “I don’t know how to accept compliments. Like, if I worked hard on something and someone is impressed I can say ‘thank you’ but if someone is complimenting me for just being myself? It doesn’t feel right.”
“Clearly you weren’t shown enough love as a child,” Emile said with a snort. Then, he paled. “Oh. Oh, God, I’m so sorry! I did not think that through!”
Remy was just snickering, though. “Emile, it’s okay. That was kinda funny. I wouldn’t make a habit of those jokes, but in this one specific circumstance, it was all right.”
“It’s still not an okay thing for me to joke about,” Emile said.
“Eh. I appreciate dark humor. You’re fine, honey.” Remy paused. “I would avoid making those jokes around other people, but you don’t need to worry about me today, all right?”
“I guess,” Emile said hesitantly.
“Hey, you’re learning to not beat yourself up as much, that’s progress!” Remy said with a grin. “Now how about we get ready to go to the shelter?”
Emile stuck his tongue out at Remy and Remy stuck his tongue out right back with a laugh. Remy grabbed his jacket and Emile put on his shoes and they were walking to the shelter. Emile grabbed Remy’s hand and Remy grinned. “I love it when you hold my hand,” he said. “You don’t mind being associated with me. It’s nice.”
“Of course I don’t mind being associated with you, Rem, you’re my boyfriend,” Emile said.
“Yeah, but...you know we could in theory get in trouble for holding hands,” Remy said.
“Not from anyone who truly matters,” Emile said with a shrug. “I love you more than I love any homophobes.”
“Even your grandfather?” Remy asked, skeptical.
“Even my grandfather,” Emile said. His eyes grew distant and somewhat sad, but he continued before Remy could apologize. “I stayed with you even after he said we could pretend New Year’s Eve never happened if I dumped you. He loved who I wanted to be. But if he can’t love me for who I am, all of who I am, then I won’t work for his approval. I refuse to fit into whatever uncomfortable mold he made for me just because it makes him more comfortable.”
“He said that?” Remy asked. “He said you could have him back in your life and you didn’t take him up on the offer?”
“Rem,” Emile said, turning to look at him, deadly serious, “His condition was for me to have a life without you in it. I’m not willing to have that. I’m not putting up with that as a demand. It’s not fair to you, or to me. And I would rather have you in my life than my grandfather. I hate that it came down to that choice, but at the end of the day, I pick you.”
“Why?” Remy asked. “Why me? You could have anyone, you could find a girl to settle down with, let your grandfather have a spot in your life, have his approval. Don’t you want that?”
“Not more than I want you in my life,” Emile said, kissing Remy’s cheek.
Remy was blushing furiously as they walked into the shelter. “I don’t understand you, Emile.”
“I know, Rem,” Emile said with a smile as the kids started to swarm them. “Just know that I love you, okay?”
“Okay,” Remy said with a sigh.
The kids were all speaking over each other, asking Emile if he wanted to play this game, or that game, or what he wanted to do in general. But then, one of the girls asked a question that made Remy surprised. “Can Mister Remy play with us too?”
“I don’t know,” Emile said. “Mister Remy is kinda busy in the kitchen most of the time, making sure that all the food gets cooked properly. But if we talk to Bernie, and Mister Remy wants to, I bet he can play with us.”
Remy blinked as Emile turned to him expectantly. When it dawned on Remy that he was supposed to respond, he scratched the back of his neck. “I mean, do you really want me to play with you?”
“Duh!” the girl said. “You’re really cool! And you and Mister Emile have tons of fun together, he said so himself! I wanna see what kinda games you can come up with!”
“I mean...I guess I could ask Bernie if he’s okay with me playing with you guys tonight...but I’m not the best at games. Usually Emile here is the one who comes up with the games, and I just play along.”
The girl shrugged. “I still think it would be fun to play with you.”
Remy laughed. “Okay. I’ll ask Bernie if it’s okay.”
Judging by the way Emile smiled as the kids cheered, the kids weren’t the only ones who wanted Remy around that evening.

It’s All So Incredibly Loud - Glass Animals
All clips today include specific songs, that I’d recommand to listen to, if you want to get an idea of the mood I set them in. I also know that this might be hard for some to read. So should you, at any point, feel that the angst becomes to big or just uncomfortable to continue on, you can skip to the end of the post, where I will have small summaries of the main things that happened in the clips. That way you can still finish the story despite today.
Stay safe!
TW: anxiety, panic attack
__ __ __
He should have never accepted the call.
„Jens, I understand that you are not at home, but I need you to bring your mother in as soon as possible. She had called me fifteen minutes ago after she had collapsed twice. Told me that she had been caughing up blood for half the day. And I have the test results since this afternoon. I..“ A brief pause. „I’m afraid all we can do at this point is to help her with the pain. When can you be back?“
„Tomorrow night.“
He answered hushed. His mouth did. His lungs did. He himself felt void of any notion of exisiting.
„Okay, I’ll be here. Call me an hour before you arrive. I’ll get everything arranged. I promise.“
„Thank you.“
„And Jens?“
„Yes?“
„I’m sorry.“
She probably had bid goodbye, but he had already hung up. The phone hit the ground with a dull thud, barely audible to the deafening pressure around him from the end of the little hallway leading away from the living room. Just behind the stairs, where he had hidden when he saw who had called.
Was it possible to loose the ability to breath from one minute to the other?
Someone must have punched it out of him, broken his rips, to tear his heart deep into pieces.
The air was thick, too thick to swallow, too thick to breath. He felt light-headed.
Not even pulling his sweater off had helped him, he realised. Panic settling in, where he hadn’t felt anything the moment before. This wasn’t good. Surely he just needed a second to reclaim control of his body, that seemed to fail him.
But the second passed and nothing changed, his lungs empty, his head pounding.
Out.
His mind shouted desperately for fresh air, so he took the step. Slow. And another. Still slow.
Faster.
His feet quicker now that he seemed to find some control over them. He passed the stairs and the kitchen counter, before he strode across the living room towards the door. The cold hit him, when he pulled it open, greeted by the black evening’s forest stretching out infront of him beyond the clearing.
Faster.
He stumbled across the wodden boards, his hand balled into fists, as he hit his chest a couple of times, trying to get his lungs working as he stepped off the porch. Still not enough air, not even under the clear night.
Faster.
So he ran for air he could not breath, as he chocked on words stuck in his throat. Never enough to supress the screams welling up from deep within. He felt the snow crunch under his feet, socks soaked a minute into his haste to get away from whatever was chasing him. Impossible to escape as he fell to his knees, just short of the treeline. Dread clutching him. Looming dark shadows rising from the white to shield the light of a moon mockingly bright in the sky above.
His heart stung. His lungs burnt. His eyes blurred.
It started as small as a faint sob and crushed into tears streaming down his cheeks, as he hopelessly tried to remember how to breath. The blood was pumping so loud in his ears. Yet too quiet for him to ignore the word filling every fiber of his being.
Sorry.
Sorry was loss. The wait over at last. Certitude knocking at his door, ignored by the desire to leave it unackowledged.
Breathe. Just breathe.
And he couldn’t. Gasping for air like a fish stranded ashore on the driest day of summer.
It hurt so much.
Jens.
So he screamed into the dark. Not much else left to do. Not much else to hide from. The whine like a prayer on his tounge to beg for more time. Just a couple more days. Just enough to leave this year with hope of being with his mother when the call would finally arrive.
Jens?
Not today. Not here. Not without her.
„Jens?“
He found himself being touched on his shoulders, grabbed by hands from behind. Blinded from tears and irritation, he shook them off. Too much. Too hot. Too constricting. He wanted to keep crying. He deserved to cry at least.
„Someone get Lucas!“
There was no strength left in him to get away. Further, where he wasn’t going to be found until he was ready to face the world again. But the sheer panic from struggeling attempts to get air into his lungs, was met by nothing but empty gasps and a throat tied shut. He felt his head get dizzier. Maybe he could just stop altogether.
„I’m going to touch you okay?“
Lucas.
„Ca...“ His whine caught by the boy crouching infront of him. Hands visible, as they came closer to lay at his sides on his lower ribs.
„We’ve done this before, right? We can do this again. Listen. In. 1...2...3.“
The voice was so close, still numbed by the beating of his heart. Far to alive for the demise he felt. But he did as he was told and tried to do as it said. Get air. Hold. Release. Repeat.
„Out. 1...2...3.“
It felt as if the hardest thing he ever had to do in his life was to breathe.
„In. 1...2...3.“
It hurt so much to not give up.
„Out. 1...2...3.“
But he made it, didn’t he?
„In. 1...2...3.“
He did.
„Out. 1...2...3.“
Again.
Again.
„It hurts.“
The raw whisper left his lips, after he let himself fall forward into the chest of the boy who always seemed to be with him at the right times at the right places.
„Please. Let’s get inside, okay?. You are freezing.“
He was?
He didn’t think so, but apparently he did, examining his violent red hands, nearing a dangerous bluish tint. It didn’t look healthy. Perhaps Lucas was right. So he nodded, let himself be pulled up onto his feet. He hadn’t realised that his sweats were just as soaked wet from the snow as were his socks, but as a light wind caught him, he began to feel it biting away at him.
He shivered. Lucas quick to sling an arm around his middle, when he drew Jens closer to his right, reaching for a blanket being handed to him, to throw around both of them.
Jens almost didn’t dare to look up, too ashamed by his observed breakdown. He hadn’t meant to run out. He hadn’t meant to worry them. But he had nowhere else to go but out. Lucas was with him though. So he let his gaze wander up from his feet to be met by Zoe first.
She must have gotten the blanket, her being the closest person to them, as she watched the couple cautiously, before Lucas started to move. She walked right next to them, strictly far enough not to accidently come in touch with Jens. Perhaps he had shaken her off? Someone had called for him. Or maybe it had been Robbe, looking absolutely distraught next to Sander, holding onto his boyfriend right infront of the Porch, where all of his friends were waiting. One expression more worried than the next.
And though the small place at his return was filled by a dozen people, there only existed dead silence. Broken just by the crunching of the snow beneath his feet. Accompanied by wind faintly howling through snow covered branches.
They parted for the couple to get inside. The heat of the cabin lit by fairy lights and the crackling fireplace was burning him alive. His skin was pricked to his bones. This was worse than the cold. This was unbearable.
He wanted to cry all over again, but couldn’t, as he chocked on dry coughs. His body giving in simply slumped into the embrace of his boyfriend. The two were surrounded by his friends, as they stood and cried for him instead.
__ __ __ tagged: @odi-et-amo85, @tayspots summary:
Jens recieves a call by Dr. Henin, who tells him to bring his mother to the hospital as soon as they can, as she got worse. Jens tells her to come in late tomorrow. He then falls into a panic, runs out to try to get fresh air, as he can’t seem to breath. His friends obviously aware and behind him. Lucas helps him out of his panic and accompanies him back inside the cabin.

Dreamers (Part Twelve)
A/N: I promise I meant for this to only be a six part fic *sobs at my lack of self control*
Soulmate AU
Raphael x Fem!Reader
Donnie had set up for the call to track it, Leonardo had told her what she needed to say, and -to her brother’s irritation- Raph was seated beside her. All Y/N had to do was call Sarah and set up the meeting...How was she supposed to do this? Sarah had been her friend for years and now, she wasn’t who Y/N believed her to be. How could she talk to her like nothing was wrong now?
Taking a deep breath, she hit the call button. It only rang about once before Sarah’s voice came through.
“Hey girl! How’s it going? Looking forward to that meeting with Stockman?”
Not at all. “Yeah I am,” She tried to sound excited even as the brothers crowded around, everybody trying to hear what Sarah was saying. She put her on speaker as she continued to speak. “But a minor problem, that time and location won’t work for me on Tuesday. Could we possibly switch it? I was thinking that coffee shop on-”
“Y/N if you want to cut the soulmate bond, you need to come into TCRI.” Sarah interrupted her and all eyes bore into her. She hadn’t wanted a soulmate, she’d told Sarah that before she really knew Raph…Y/N glanced at him. He had gone still beside her, an expression on his face that she couldn’t quite read, but it was enough to tell her that she’d messed up.
“Wait, I thought Stockman just wanted to talk, that everything was still experimental.” She tried to focus as she said it. She’d have to smooth things over with Raph later.
“Yeah, he wants to talk to see if you’ll try it!” Sarah laughed as if it was some big joke. “Anyways, if you don’t want to have to deal with having a soulmate you’re going to have to come into TCRI.” Leonardo was shaking his head at her.
“I can’t do that Sarah.” Y/N claimed firmly. “But I can meet at the coffee shop on 30th and Steinway.” Sarah was silent for a moment.
“I’ll see what I can do, but you owe me for this one,” she said at last and Y/N let out a soft sigh of relief.
“Thanks Sarah.”
“Yeah yeah.” Sarah brushed it off. “I’ll call you back if I can get it to work.” With that she hung up. Before anybody could say anything, Raph stood, storming out of the room. Crap, she’d really screwed up.
“Raph-” Y/N stood to go after him, but Leonardo grabbed her arm, more gently this time. She spun to look at him, to argue that she needed to fix this, but the soft look in his eyes had the words sticking in her throat.
“Give him a little bit Y/N,” He spoke as if he needed to choose his words carefully. “He’s going to need to calm down.”
“I didn’t mean…” She shook her head. “I thought I didn’t have time for a soulmate...that I didn’t want one. But...I didn’t know him like I do now…” She looked up at Leonardo, hoping he’d let go. “Please, I need to talk to him.”
He let her go.
***
The punching bag swung back, almost slipping off the hook before coming back towards him. He took it with his knee and the thought that he’d been right. He wasn’t good enough for Y/N. He’d made a mess of her life, and why had he ever thought that she’d want a mutant turtle for a soulmate? She’d said she was too busy for a soulmate, why had he even bothered to hope that maybe she’d changed her mind? That he could be somebody she’d want?
“Raph?” The sound of her voice startled him and his fist missed the bag, slamming instead into the metal post with a crack. Cursing under his breath he turned to look at her, trying to shake the pain out of his hand. She hesitated in the doorway, arms wrapped around her waist as she took a step forward. Why was she here when he wasn’t enough?
She stepped closer, eye flickering down to his hand. “You’re hurt…” He took a look at it, examining his split knuckles. He hadn’t done that in a while.
“Will you let me help you?” She came closer, taking his hand in her tiny ones. His big, grean, scaly- Stop it.
“Why would ya want to?” He snapped, harsher than he meant to, jerking his hand out of her tender touch. Somehow seeing it between her small, human hands only made the hurt worse. He hated being reminded of what he wasn’t and never could be.
“Raph, when I said that to her it was when I thought I couldn’t handle having a soulmate.” Y/N looked up at him with an almost pleading gaze.
“Couldn’t handle having a soulmate or couldn’t handle having me for a soulmate?” He said the words and instantly wished he could take them back. She stared at him in silence for a moment, a hurt not unlike his own flickering over her face.
“Raph,” She whispered. “Do you really think so little of me? That I would turn you away just because of what you look like?” No, he didn’t. She was kind and good and patient, she wouldn’t do that.
“No…” He shook his head before sinking down onto the bench that ran along the wall. She was quiet for a moment.
“Where’d the first aid kit?” Her question came softly.
“I’m fine,” He looked up at her, attempting a grin despite the pain in his heart and hand. She raised an eyebrow at him but sighed and stepped towards him. Huh, for being so tiny, she was taller than he was when he was sitting. It was a beautiful view that was certain.
“Raph, I never told Sarah that I didn’t want a soulmate, I said I didn’t think I could handle having one.” Y/N reached out as she said it, her hand landing on his shoulder with a feather light touch. “I never said anything to her that I never told you.”
That was almost reassuring. But if she couldn’t handle having a soulmate then, how could she be okay with having one now, in the midst of this mess?
“And now?” He asked, his hands going to her waist.
“Now,” She smiled slightly. “I know that having you for a soulmate, is the best thing to ever happen to me.” How could she say that? Did she really mean that?
“Why?” He wanted to know. Why would she believe that? Could she be lying to try to make him feel better?
“Because you are kind, brave, and passionate.” Her gaze was gentle as she said it. “And knowing you somehow makes everything seem better.” He didn’t say anything. What was there to say? Instead of speaking, he pulled her close into a hug. She accepted it, holding him tight as he buried his face into the crook of her neck. She smelled so good… She was so good. He really didn’t deserve her.
“Can you please forgive me Raph?” Y/N spoke after a minute, not letting him go. “I was such an idiot.” Too smart to be an idiot…
“Yes.” He said, lingering in her embrace for a moment longer. At least until somebody cleared their throat loudly. Raph looked to see Donnie lingering in the doorway. Why did they keep getting interrupted?
Y/N stepped back, out of Raph’s grasp. “Hey Donnie…” A blush dusted her cheeks.
Donnie looked a bit bashful as he held out Y/N’s phone. “Sarah texted. Said you can meet Stockman tomorrow night at the coffee shop.” Tomorrow night? So soon? Well, they were running short on time, but did he really want Y/N to do this? Was it too late to back out?
“Thanks Donnie.” Y/N took the phone from him, sliding it into her pocket. She hesitated before offering half a smile. “I guess I should head home then...try to get some sleep.”
“I could take you if you’d like,” Donnie offered and Raph barely resisted the urge to glare at him. She was his soulmate.
“I think I can get back fine on my own.” Y/N claimed, there was a look in her eyes as she glanced at him that Raph couldn’t quite decipher. “I’ll...talk to you later?”
“Yeah,” Raph nodded, not sure of what else to say. It wasn’t until she had left that he realized just what he wanted to tell her.
He loved her.

I Pinned You From Across the Zoom
By Tori Frank
Tumblr media
When you have them pinned, that’s how you know it’s real. The anonymous owners of @usc.missedconnections on Instagram discussed zoom romance and the seductive mystery of having an admirer behind the screen.
Imagine Gossip Girl, but make it all horny college students deprived of casual touch. That is the drama of @usc.missedconnections. If you don’t avidly stalk their account, you either have an unheard of self-confidence that doesn’t require any external validation, you deleted your Instagram in a fit of quarantine frenzy, or you haven’t heard of them yet, and you’re very curious about the previously stated analogy.
See the bio of the @usc.missedconnections page: “Have a message for the person whose zoom you always pin or saw from 6 ft away? Anonymously send your missed connection below!” Below sits the google form where all the virtual action happens: the flirts, the cat calls, the compliments, and the subtle roasts. It really is a good time, somewhat making up for the lack of classroom banter that would normally occur.
I sat down with the students who began the account, and we chatted about the new sensation that is dominating everyone’s feed.
Tori: My roommates and I have been following your page pretty actively, as I think a lot of people have been recently.
@usc.missedconnections just surpassed 3000 followers in the few months since their origin on September 30th, 2020
T: It’s definitely very entertaining, especially with Zoom making everything a little bit more boring and separated. It’s been really fun to follow @usc.missedconnections and see what’s the tea! To begin, how did you come up with the idea of creating this account?
Connector 1: I was between USC and another school out on the East coast. Some good friends that I went out and visited there showed me the [Instagram] page at that school, and I was like, “Hey that's a cool idea, that looks like a lot of fun.’ I texted _(Connector 2)_. I was like, “Hey here’s some dumb idea, we’ll get 50 people, we’ll get 2 responses a day. It will be kind of fun to just post them,” and we just grew from there.
T: So how many posts do you guys get a day now?
Connector 2: It’s actually ticked up a lot in what, the past like 2 weeks-ish? For a long time we had a solid 100 just in the bank, and then we slowly [opened them], but it's been 200 plus starting just recently, which is weird. We started posting more frequently to catch up.
Connector 1: Yeah I presume we get about 30-ish on average a day.
Are you intrigued yet? About 30 lucky students across the online campus are being called out for some reason another, be it their sexy voice, their mustache, their wall decorations, or the way they eat their oranges. And on the flip side, about 30 people a day are shooting their anonymous shot through the account. With anonymity of course comes a certain audacity to get real freaky over the submission form. I wondered how freaky it could get.
T: Do you post all of the ones that come, or is there some sort of filtering process?
Connector 1: We’ve had a couple instances where people have been mentioned or certain organizations that have been mentioned have requested for us to take the post down, so we’ve always just respected that if we’re ever asked to take the post down for whatever reason.
Connector 2: I periodically will go through, and I’ll be like, “This one’s weird, I don't think we need to post that,” and then I'll delete it.
_(connector 1)_ idk if you know that I do that, but um…
Connector 1: Oh probably. I mean, I’ve deleted one before.
Connector 2: Yeah, when I’m doing them sometimes I’ll be like ‘this is a little weird how can we phrase this in a way that's not exactly… yeah.
T: Yeah, what’s like the line? Because I think a lot of the time some of the things can be kind of… creepy… I mean the whole thing is like…
Connector 1: (cuts in, chuckling) Kinda creepy
T: (agreeing) Kinda creepy, right!
There have been submissions such as:
“To ____, Did you know if you rearrange the letters of Coronavirus you get “carnivorous”? Which makes sense because I want to spend the next 14 days of quarantine eating you”
and
“____ in BUAD 497, my only motivation for coming to class is being able to pin your video and look at your beautiful face for two hours”
Connector 1: It’s interesting, um, when we first started it, we talked, and the thing we were worried most about was like cyber bullying, and I personally haven't seen many posts. You get the offhand sarcastic comments, um, which are pretty funny sometimes, but I don’t know if we... we don't really have a set filter. If we feel like something’s over the bar, then we’ll kinda edit it out. Of course a lot of the time too if we’re iffy on something we’ll text the other person and be like ‘hey what do you think of this’ so, it's no distinct line, but our goal is never to make anyone uncomfortable.
T: Yeah, I think generally it's been pretty positive, a lot of affirming things. Even sometimes not romantic, like just positive comments which is pretty cool, and it's good to see that that's been going on.
Aw so sweet, fellow Trojans getting along so well. But this is a juicy topic. Playing the role as the reporter, I had to get the inside scoop.
T: Do you ever get messages about yourself?
Connector 1: I’ve had 2
Connecter 2: Yeah he’s had 2, I haven’t had any and I’m mad about it. I want one
Connector 1: I gave you one
Connector 2: You gave me one but I knew it was from you so it didn’t mean anything.
T: So you’re not only the owners of the account. You’re sort of participating in the game as well.
Connector 1: Oh, it’s always a blast when like you’re reading through and you know the person who it's getting written about and you’re just waiting. Yeah, that’s like my favorite part of it, and also the guessing games sometimes are a lot of fun too.
Connector 2: For a long time people were scared to tag people that it was about in the comments, but now there’s no hesitation. People will just tag everyone, which I think is really fun.
Its also fun that we don’t give the full last name because then its kinda funny when you get a really generic “Sam B” or “Lucy J” and 6 different Lucy’s get tagged and half the time we know who it really is because we saw the last name and then edited it out.
T: Why don’t you include the full name?
Connector 2: I think it’s more fun. (shyly shrugs) It’s about keeping the mystery, you know? Who could it possibly be about?
Connector 1: We do get a lot of requests though because of that, where people are like, “Hey, is this me? Can you tell me who sent this in?” and we're like “I don't know.”
Connector 2: Yeah people DM us every day asking for things, and also sometimes people don't understand that we have a forum in our bio and they send it in thru DM, their missed connections, which sort of ruins the anonymity and its sort of embarrassing for them bc we have to be like, “please submit it in our bio,” and they have to be like “oh god now they know”
T: It’s almost like a masquerade.
Again, I am imagining Jenny Humphrey wearing her golden mask at the Constance Billard School for Girls Masquerade Ball, prancing around Nate Archibald without him having the faintest idea of who he will be kissing. Maybe this is a little different, but the spirit is there!
T: Looking through your posts of course, a lot of them are, “Oh, I have your screen pinned, I watch you all the time in class” Do you guys do that? Do you think that that's like, Zoom behavior now, or is that still cringe?
Connector 2: Idk if I’d pin for a whole class, but I’ve been known to take a look, and based on all the things we’ve gotten sent it I guess people do. If you’re in a lecture thats boring, fair enough. I can't fault you for that. It’s so weird right now, so who knows?
Connector 1: I think it's really fun also, like, people get really creative too. A lot of them are really general but we just posted one today that had a Kanye reference. We get poetry sometimes. I love the poets. It’s a lot of fun for us and I think other people get to read the more fun posts then, like “hey I saw you”, when saying “hey I saw you” does make it, I guess, easier to match, but it’s less exciting for everybody else
T: To match... going off of that, have you heard of any success stores?
Connector 2: I have not but I desperately want to know. I think if people get married we legally have to officiate the wedding. We’ll go public to officiate the wedding. We’ll break anonymity for that.
T: Do a little daft punk moment
Connector 1: Yeah exactly. The [ones] behind the mask.
T: Do you think you want to continue it next year or post COVID in general?
Connector 1: Yeah, I mean I want to.
They talked about potential future: color schemes, contemplating a purple theme or the classic USC colors. I can tell that the account is only growing from here. It’s not like there is any shortage of desperate college students!
T: That’s exciting. I’m excited to see where the account goes!
Connector 1: Us too
T: I’m also looking forward to hopefully getting a post about myself. I have not yet. I know you guys are hiding it
Connector 1: Oh yeah, well with the 200 post back log I’m sure it’ll come out soon...

If there was one thing the Dormir cousins were famous for, it was parties. So, it was no surprise that Remy’s Halloween party was one of the biggest events of the year. It was also very exclusive, you had to know the right people to get in. Any regular student would have dropped everything for a chance to go. Anyone except for Logan Hamilton, who had barely spoken to Roman or Virgil in days.
It was Wednesday, October 30th and the lunch bell had just rung. “You can’t keep ignoring me forever, Logan,” Virgil said. Logan only walked away, giving him a silent message. “That’s a very rude hand gesture!” he yelled.
Virgil sighed, falling against the wall as Logan walked away. He felt a hand on his shoulder and didn’t even bother to look up. He already knew there was a fifty percent chance of it being Roman (and the other fifty percent chance of it being Remy). “He’ll be back eventually,” Roman said. “We just need to talk to him.”
“I’m trying but he’s impossible to talk to when he’s angry. We’ve really fucked up.”
“Maybe we can get Patton to talk to him.”
Virgil laughed. “You think he’d listen to Patton?”
“What’s wrong with Patton?”
“Nothing,” Virgil said. “To us.”
“To us?”
“You’re pretty oblivious, Princey.”
“Oblivious,” Roman repeated. “Are you saying Logan has a crush on me and therefore won’t talk to Patton?”
Virgil pulled himself from the wall and took Roman’s hand as they walked down the hall. “First of all, you wish Logan had a crush on you. I think you’re just looking for an excuse to change your name to Roman Hamilton.”
“Imagine marrying Logan Hamilton. I could never,” Roman teased.
“Shut up you’re getting off-topic.”
“Weirdly defensive about marrying Logan,” he teased, bumping into Virgil’s side with a laugh. He felt pain in his hand as Virgil’s fists grew tighter. “Ow. Ow. Ow. Okay, okay I take it back.”
“Even if I did have a crush on Logan, he’s straight,” Virgil said. “And you’re getting off-topic. He’s not listening to me, he’s obviously not going to listen to you, and Patton isn’t even in the same room as the table.”
“And, again, what’s wrong with Patton and why am I oblivious?”
“Logan doesn’t exactly, uh, like Patton. And if you haven’t been able to notice that, you certainly have your head in the clouds.”
“I’m king of the clouds.”
“You’re not even a prince, Duke.”
“Touché.”
“I’ll send him a text,” Virgil said. “I just... hope he’ll respond.”
“You guys have been best friends since- what? Seventh grade?” Roman squeezed Virgil’s hand and leaned into him. “He’ll come around.”
Virgil leaned into the touch, both their heads pressed together as they turned a corner towards the school cafeteria. “This is worse than any fight we’ve ever had. I don’t know what to do.”
Roman stopped dead in his tracks. He took Virgil by the shoulders and looked him dead in the eyes. (He still had to grow used to the fact that Virgil was now taller than him. The growth spurt he had hit during his sophomore year was still a surprise.) “Everything is going to be fine,” he said. “You know how I know it will be? Because if Hamilton thinks he can hurt my second best friend then I’m going to kick his ass with my new weird crazy powers.”
“And what powers are those?”
“I’ll figure it out, okay? Now, c’mon, either Logan is going to come back and we can sort out this spirit situation. Or- Or- we forget about Logan for one night and I show you and Patton how to have a good time.”
“But what about-“
“Shhh.” Roman placed a finger over Virgil’s lips. “It’s a Remy Dormir party. We’re going to get drunk off our asses and have a great time. Okay?”
“Okay.”
It was Thursday, October 31, nearly 7:00 O’clock at night. When Roman had arrived Remy was busy locking the last of the bedroom and office doors, any room that would give him a death sentence if it were trashed.
“I brought drinks,” he announced, holding two plastic bags in his hands. Patton and Emile exchanged a glance, staring at Roman with quirked eyebrows. “Relax.” He pulled a bottle out from the bag. “It’s Sprite.”
“Ro, I’m glad you’re here,” Remy said, sliding three stacks of paper plates across the counter. “I need you guys to open these.”
“Great to see you too, Rem.”
“The pleasure is all yours I’m sure. Hey, hand me that pumpkin, will ya? Thanks, babe.”
“I’m pretty sure you call me that more than your own boyfriend.”
“Everyone else is ‘Babe’,” Remy explained, “Emile is ‘baby.’”
Emile blushed, his face redder than his Steven Universe shirt. “Reeeeemmmyyyy.”
“Save that for the bedroom, baby,” Remy teased.
Roman shoved a finger in his mouth and gagged. “You two are disgusting.”
Remy raised an eyebrow and threw a tape dispenser at Roman’s head. “Oh, please, like you haven’t jerked it to m-“
“OKAY! SHUT THE FUCK UP!” he yelled, face bright red. He turned towards Patton and Emile. “Pro tip: Never fucking tell Remy about a crush.”
“I’d consider it a close matter,” he said, failing to hide a laugh. “Aww, c’mon it was years ago.”
“And yet, you’re still an asshole about it.”
“You act like you still have feelings.”
“You act like I won’t shake you off this damn ladder.”
“Ouch. Someone’s got a sore spot.”
“Ladder,” Roman warned. There was a knock on the door but it swung open before anyone could answer it.
“Sup, bitches! I brought beers!” Narcissa yelled. She wore all black with a leather jacket that could rival Remy’s own and a floppy witch hat that still had a price tag on the side. Her long black hair and choppy bangs framed her face nicely. She had a diamond stud in her nose and wore glittery purple eyeshadow.
“Eww.”
“Oh. Duke is here.”
“Ah. Draco can go fuck herself.”
The two stood silent, staring each other down for a total of five seconds before laughing and pulling each other into a hug. “Virgil pulled into the driveway a few seconds after me. He’ll be here in a few-“
“Sup, motherfuckers!”
“He’s here,” she deadpanned.
“Virgil! Virgil, look!” Roman said, smiling like a puppy. “It’s Narcissa.”
“Aww, it’s my chorus baby,” she cooed, ruffling Virgil’s hair. “We miss you.”
“Stop, stop, I spent an hour making this look perfect,” Virgil said. He was dressed head to toe in regal vampire gear with fake blood on his lips and chin.
“Lookin’ sharp, bloodsucker,” Roman complimented.
“Blood isn’t the only thing I suck,” he said with a wink. “Oh! Patton, you made it!”
“I did!” Patton said. “Any luck with, uh, you know who?”
Remy gasped as he jumped off the ladder. “Did someone take my title of You Know Who?!”
“That’s offensive to Lord Voldemort,” Narcissa said.
“Suck my dick, babe.”
“Only if you suck mine.”
“I haven’t had any luck,” Virgil said, taking a seat next to Patton. “I know he needs space, but I don’t know what to do. Our time is running out.”
“Emile,” Patton blurted out. “We could, uh, use Emile if Logan won’t agree.”
Virgil knitted his eyebrows together, glancing up and down at Patton as he wiggled in his seat. “You don’t sound too sure of yourself. Besides, replacing Logan would only make things worse.”
“You said yourself that we’re running out of time.”
“Patton, I-“
A voice escaped Patton’s throat, low and gravely, nothing like the young boy’s own. It said, “We only have tonight, Fear. What are you so afraid of?” Patton slapped a hand over his mouth.
“Your face is turning green.”
“Your arms are turning violet.”
“Princey,” Virgil called, “can we see you real quick?”
“Yeah, what’s- Oh fuck.”
“Oh fuck indeed,” Virgil growled. He grabbed Patton and Roman’s hands and pulled them into the bathroom.
It’s Thursday, October 31, nearly 7:45 at night when Logan finds himself pacing in his bedroom, his eyes going up and down trying to reread a text Virgil had sent hours ago. He couldn’t think of a response.
Logan, we need to talk.
I’m so sorry about what happened at Patton’s house and I’m worried that I'll never get to apologize enough. I know you and Roman don’t always get along, but he really does care about you. The two of us have been fighting trying to figure out what’s best for you but that’s a choice only you can make. We’ll be at Remy’s house tonight and I really hope I can see you there and properly make amends.
We found a way to summon the fourth spirit. His name is Knowledge and I can think of no one more deserving than you of that power. But above all, I want my best friend back. So, please, talk to me.
Logan practically had the message memorized by now. He paced back and forth watching time move forward as his battery drained. Should he stay angry at Virgil and Roman for trying to make this choice without him? Should he forgive them? Should he accept this power? “Feelings,” he mumbled, “the bane of my existence.
Then his phone rang. His texts disappeared as a picture of Roman in a prince costume from behind the scenes of his last play took their place. Why was Roman calling? His finger hovered over the answer button before he finally gave in and clicked it.
“You have three seconds to explai-“
“Logan! Logan, oh thank fairy godmother you answered! We need your help!”
“Is this some sort of trap?”
“No! No, seriously, Virgil and Patton are here with me! We- We don’t know what’s going on! Patton has like- like scales or something! And Virgil looks like he barely escaped the Wonka factory!”
“Roman, your eyes,” he could hear Patton saying. “They’re red.”
“Logan! Just, please, we’re at Remy’s house! Get here as fast as you ca-” The line went dead. The clocks around him slowed, time never fully halting. The room began to dim.
“Roman?” Logan asked, frantically trying to call him back. Every attempt failed. His heart was pounding in his chest. He was having a panic attack but he didn’t even have the time to pull himself out of it. He ran for his bedroom door, trying to pull it open but the handle wouldn’t budge.
“You are not needed there. Not yet,” a voice spoke.
Logan’s eyes welled with tears as he frantically pulled at the door handle. “LET ME OUT!” he screamed. “ROMAN NEEDS ME! LET ME OUT OF HERE!”
“No one can hear you now, Logan Zander Hamilton,” the voice said. “We have temporarily pulled apart from the known universe. There is no one outside that door. It’s only you and me. I suggest we have a little chat.”
Logan pressed his back against the door and fell to the ground, hugging his knees. “My- My friends,” he choked out. “They need me. They need me!”
“We need you, Logan Zander Hamilton,” he said, almost perfectly mimicking Virgil’s voice. Almost, yet too robotic. He wasn’t as caring and compassionate as Virgil always was. He appeared as a reflection in the mirror, a perfect doppelgänger to Logan but with something cold and robotic in his eyes. He looked like a man but he could not pass as human. “My friends and yours are now one.” He pressed his hand against the glass and walked through as easily as someone would walk through a wall of gelatin. And with that, the mirror seemed to bounce back as easily as gelatin without so much as a crack to prove that he had broken through. As he stepped closer, Logan could see how inhuman his eyes were. He was the cosmos hidden inside of a human shell. “Join me- Join us- and learn the secrets of your existence.”
“If- If I do this,” he asked, trying to wipe away the last of his tears, “will I be able to save my friends?”
“With the power of knowledge, you can save humankind.”
“They aren’t human, are they? Not anymore, at least. They’ve been... infected.”
“How observant of you.”
“I don’t need to save humankind,” he said, “I just need to save them.”
“Any panic or pain they are experiencing now is only at the cost of summoning me,” Knowledge said. “Whether aware or not, they have brought me to you. Neither I nor them will be at rest until I have a vessel.”
“For Virgil,” Logan said, “and for Roman. And Patton.” He stuck out his hand towards Knowledge. “I’ll do it.”
Knowledge took Logan’s hand. His human shell melted away and Logan found himself being blinded by the pure light in front of him. He expected to choke and cry in pain as Virgil and Roman had done. Instead, he found warmth traveling from his fingertips through his veins and arteries. He found warmth traveling through him in all directions. His head felt light and his chest felt full of the purest air.
Logan woke up from his bed. He slid on his glasses and looked at his reflection in his phone’s camera. His eyes held pools of stars. He was the cosmos inside of a human shell. He felt enlightened.
Logan put his phone in the pocket of his jeans, grabbed a jacket, and ran out of his house as fast as his legs would take him. When he got to Remy’s house his heart was pounding in the best possible way. He walked in, dodging students as he made his way towards the bathroom.
“LOGAN!” Virgil yelled, smiling brightly as the lights around them flickered with electricity.
“Maybe don’t destroy the lights here,” Logan teased. “You guys summoned a spirit. How the hell did you do that?”
“I, uh, think that was my fault,” Patton said meekly.
“It was Morality who started it,” Virgil corrected. “Not Patton.”
“Is there any difference?” Patton asked.
“Yes,” Logan said. “And no matter what, we must remember that there are differences between us and the spirits using us for personal gain.”
“Woah,” Roman whispered, leaning close to Logan. “Your eyes look wicked right now.”
“You accepted his powers,” Virgil said in disbelief. He smiled brightly, pulling Logan into a hug. “We’re superheroes!”
“We haven’t done anything heroic,” Logan said. “Being superhuman does not automatically make one a hero.”
“Be gay, fight crime,” Roman announced. Virgil shot him a look. “That’s going to be my motto. I’m copyrighting it as we speak.”
“You’re such a nerd,” Logan said with a laugh.
“That’s Logan’s way of saying ‘I love you.’”
“No, it’s just my way of calling you a nerd.”
There was an annoyed knock at the door. “Can you guys have your orgy somewhere else? You’ve been in there for nearly an hour,” Remy yelled.
The three of them laughed, their skin and faces slowly returning to normal. “Well, my friends,” Roman said. “Welcome to the rest of our lives.”
