One my favorite concepts with mascot horror is the idea that there were scrapped characters who never made the cut but still exist in some way, maybe like, someone else found the blueprints and decided to make them themselves.

In the beginning, she was meant to be similar to Kinito's friends, where she is stuck to a website where she helped give information, but the coder somehow found out bout the Kinitopet virus and decided to make sure at least he was safe by making Sage into an anti-virus AI,

So that is what Sage is! She is a scrapped idea of one of Kinito's friends from the web world, who was found by an old coder and made into reality as a Anti-virus AI.

(Which ties with her name, since sage is used to cleanse lost spirits)

The reason in world why she would be scrapped...

Well... you can probs see by her design. She is very similar to Jade by being just a different shade of green, she looks a bit too scary for kids as well as not really colorful, and with the fins its hard to figure out what are arms or not. It would make sense why her design would be thrown away.

That's not to say that it would be interesting to think of what it would of been like, if she was part of the gang...

kinitopet is a cool game and fun to watch. and i am, in theory alone, glad to see a very popular character in the spotlight who is an axolotl, one of my favorite animals and one i think is very underrated and underutilised in creative projects. However this all goes down the drain because the design of kinito himself fucking sucks fat anus and looks like an emoji movie character and no amount of justification for that especially shitty looking head-on-long-legs design will ever make it any better in my eyes
