#the silt verses #sister carpenter #brother faulkner #paige duplass #james hayward #not 100% happy with this but I've been working on it for uhh two months and wanted to get it up before the next ep #cannot stress enough this isn't necessarily how i picture these characters but moreso what I can draw LOL #every time I try to conceptualize them it's like trying to look at someone without my glasses #in that i get vague forms etc but nothing concrete #it's weird bc it's like. the more i relisten the less concrete image i have of them /thinks #though I will say i will die on curly haired + freckles faulkner #and I usually picture carpenter with a simple wavy ponytail #also in terms of scars i like the idea of faulkner having a scar on his hand from the glass in the s2 finale #and hayward having a scar on his forehead from hembrey!#also i don't think hayward smokes but i liked how it looked when paired with paige and her alcohol!#also something something he might have tried once to blend in with the other police officers but never took to it #been wanting to draw something for silt verses for forever so!!#edit: added an alt id in the image description!#uploaded this last night and completely forgot to i'm sorry!#pls lmk if it's too long or not really a good description!

hi i can no longer act coy or hope that a job will come in time so im coming to everyone really embarassingly with my issues

in June I attempted to get fired from/left my job after having a really embarassing public meltdown due to having Rapid-Cycling Mixed Bipolar and the unending stress of that job of 3+ years. I've been struggling to get a job afterwards due to being in CA without a vehicle, and i'm currently working on an overdue commission so could not open up any more.

Soon after, my mother's car imploded, and a series of incidents related to a used engine and taking out a loan with a friend has left her both needing to pay back the loan and still needing to get a new car, putting her thousands in the hole.

my mother has allowed me to not worry about paying rent while unemployed, but now the person living with us is moving out, so it will be on me and my mother to pay rent, upping mine from $300 to $500 a month. I am currently job hunting with good prospects, but I am still in need of some assistance.

I DO NOT WANT TO ASK FOR DONATIONS WITHOUT GIVING SOMETHING IN RETURN, I have a very bad time taking help from people without doing something in return because I do not want people to feel like they Have to give me money or help me, I want to Offer something in return for that money, even in a situation like this, because I want everyone to come out on the other end feeling fulfilled, so I'm offering some (slow) cheaper commissions I can work on in between the bigger comm I owe.

My kofi is always open for donation sketches ---- you can donate the minimum amount (or whatever you prefer) and get a drawing like this of anything as long as you put it into the donation message!

i cant currently take on big commissions as I have one i owe and the commissioner is a very generous person who has been waiting a good few months for me to finish one during this hectic time, but if you're interested in getting something a little higher quality for a donation, a $30-50 USD donation can get you a ''simple commission'' styled drawing --- that is, you give me a prompt and character refferences (ocs or fanart, up to 2-3 characters depending on complexity), and I draw them like below (color complexity depends on price, the higher the amount the more the color).

You wont have access to revisions to make this as fast as possible, so i HIGHLY reccomend only getting fanart comms of these and to make sure you really like my style!!

this is one of those situations where I DEEPLY reccomend people do not donate unless they want something in return, if you dont wanna ask for a drawing or anything i reccomend going to people in more dire circumstances and helping them out with your donation!!!

but if you want to help me help my mother get out of a bad financial situation and get a little drawing in return, you can do a small dono and att a message of what you want doodled, or you can email me at [email protected] your $30-50 donation reciept and what you would like me to draw, and ill try to get them as soon as I can

here's roughly how i do it :) hope this helps!

#my real honest advice is to take figure drawing classes bc nothing helped me with drawing bodies more than live figure drawing #BUT this is how i do it now. recently i took a figure drawing class that was specifically about anatomy and specific bones and muscles etc #which REALLY helped me actually understand what i was doing when drawing bodies.#like there's a difference between knowing 'there's usually a bump here' vs 'this bump is usually here because of this muscle and this bone'#and knowing the actual internal structure of what im drawing has been INCREDIBLY helpful lol #asks

heyya ! This is absolutely something that Ishould have made a pinned post to address waayyy back so i'm answering this in hopes of taking care of that later todayyyy

The situation with the fucked up delays in these iiiis mainly initially to do with the coloring of them -which i'm still foolishly holding on to-, where I started getting some delays in posting a few years back, and letting the gap grow; Until nowww where there's a backlog of over a year of comics that require being coloured and/or scanned

I'm still mostly drawing them as the days go though, aside from a recent big delay i've recently caught up on, I usually draw them at most a few days after the actual date ! I would absolutely not remember anything otherwise because my memory is terrible

#like even for when i end up drawing them a few days after if i haven't written down a few lines for what i wouldve done for it #i usually tend to struggle with remembering what the heck to do about it #bc my brain is muddy and my days blend together and nothing happens aaa hh h #as per catching up on the delay !! gawsh !!#we can still hope for it someday !#u might have noticed i've been dumping 3 per day lately (except yesterday i dint )#that's an attempt at riding a meager wave of effort to catch up just a bit we'll see how long that lasts #bla bla bla

this is for traditional artwork (like paintings and other physical mediums), not prints of digital art. also generation cuspers just pick based on vibes. if you’ve never bought artwork just think theoretically

ive been finding that with traditional commissions older people sometimes ask to have it framed and it always irrationally annoys me and i feel like “i didnt factor in buying a frame. why should i have to frame it. i made the artwork and u paid me and now its yours and however u want to display it isnt my problem. why is framing my problem. i hate frames. just frame it yourself” but also idk if thats a me problem and framing is widely expected

hi….! any chance we can see your art process ? it’s fine if not! i was wondering if u do a sketch before your lines or you just skip directly to lineart? your art is very beautiful!

HI!!! AUGGHHHJHH THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH T__T my art style is kinda simple imo so my process is pretty bare-bones ^^;; there's not rly much too it!! it also kinda changes depending on how uhhhh lazy im feeling in the moment HAHA

probably around half of my drawings are straight to line art bc they're rly just doodles or things i decide to draw without any planning (but also im kinda impatient so i try to skip the sketching step if i can LOL...). but if i DO have a specific pose in mind for a drawing, i'll start with a sort of mannequin sketch or loose pass, then depending on how messy it is, ill either do the lineart pass on the layer on top or duplicate the sketch and then clean it up.

and then my coloring process is not sophisticated at all i just create a new layer and then paint bucket tool away LMAOOOO

here's an example of a drawing where i did sketch first ^_^
