hey there!! thank you for your kind words, it means a lot!! I hope you had a lovely Christmas🧡. I actually watched the interview with Max today and I wouldn’t really say it’s the most interesting interview ever (they talk mostly about how this was not his year and the Covid-19 break and Max’ crashes and wins), but here are a few things that stood out to me:

• Max says that you can see the difference between Lewis and Valtteri for example in a race like Turkey, where Lewis didn’t make any mistakes and won the race, while Valtteri stayed behind. he says that’s the difference between a ‘top driver’ and a ‘good driver’. he says there is mutual respect between him and Lewis, which grew over the years. he thinks Lewis is a nice guy and he says he can have a laugh with him and make jokes. the interviewer then refers back to something Max said last year, which was “60% can win in a Mercedes” and Max answers “but not in the dominant way Lewis does” and calls him one of the best drivers ever. • the interviewer then says “Valtteri only has 9 wins in the Mercedes, you have 10 wins in the Red Bull” and Max doesn’t necessarily respond to the comment, but says “George stepped in the car and was immediately faster than Valtteri, so you know how good the car is. but I think that if you would let George drive the car for a couple of races longer, he would only drive faster and faster. a lot of people can win in that car. that doesn’t necessarily take away from Lewis, but with the dominance Mercedes have, you don’t even have to be as dominant as Lewis in order to win the Championship”. later he talks about George again and says; “George should have won in at the Sakhir GP.” • they mention how they asked a few drivers about Max and they mention how Seb really wanted to say something. then there’s a video in which Seb says that Max has matured a lot in the past few years, also this year. Seb also mentioned how he’s a more complete driver now and he hopes he’ll be a bit closer to the top next year. Max reacts to this by saying “it’s natural, because when you get into F1 at seventeen and now you’re 23, it’s normal to mature a little bit”. • they show videos of his former teammates talking about Max. they all basically call him a fun guy and tough to beat on track and Daniel says Max doesn’t stink and fart that much. Carlos also mentions how the year that he was teammates with max was probably his hardest year in F1, because it was his first year and also because there was an extreme competition with Max. then they ask Max who were his hardest teammates to beat and Max says Carlos and Daniel were. Max also mentioned how he feels sorry for Pierre that it didn’t work out for him at Red Bull. • they show a video of them asking Lando about Max and Lando basically says that they are good friends and he hopes they’ll be able to fight on track soon. Lando says “we’ve had some good moments on track and somewhere else” and Max starts laughing and the interviewer asks Lando “can you be more specific?” and Lando answers “NO! it’s not anything weird” and Max just laughs. when the video is finished, Max says that he’s known Lando for a long time and he was “always very small but very fast”, and then he calls him small two more times (“he was so small!”). Max says Lando also loves racing on the sim and he’s a very relaxed guy, that’s why they enjoy being around each other. • Max says he believes an F1 driver should sometimes be an asshole, even sometimes off-track. • they don’t really talk about Sergio being Max’ future teammate, the only thing that’s mentioned is how Max wants to teach him Dutch swear words. • Max said that he wished he had broken his foot after kicking the wall at the Sakhir GP, because he was so done with everything. the interviewer then says “but then you wouldn’t have been able to do the last race”, and Max says “I wouldn’t have cared, I was so done at that moment!” which he says is not because he was angry with Charles, but because he thought at that time he could’ve won the race, because he expected he could handle Valtteri and because it was George’ first race in the car, he thought he could pass him too. • Max says that the reason he doesn’t get that angry anymore about small stuff is because he’s not really fighting for positions anymore. a few years ago, he really needed those points to make a difference in the Championship. he says it doesn’t matter to him if he would get another P3 or even P2 in the Championship, because P1 is the only thing that matters to him. • Max says he likes buying new racing shoes, as he doesn’t really feel they’re new when he’s driving the car, but “they look nice for the pictures!”
