Ref for Noodle in the Splatoon AU! This is after she reaches the surface. And I know that canon Agent 8 is speculated to be 16 to 18, but Noodle is 14 in this AU, like she is in phase 2. Also to ward off Noodle shippers. Now for some backstory.

Noodle was originally known as 23E, as all Octarians/Octolings are given code numbers instead of real names due to the military nature of their culture (at least that’s my personal headcanon). Noodle grew up as a cadet, eventually befriend 2D who would go on to become her tutor. She had deep respect for him , especially due to him being more compassionate than other instructors. No harsh punishment for one simple mistake. He encouraged her, told her about her flaws and how to fix them, and acting like the parent she never had. But then came the dreadful day 2D was voluntold to join the newest project in collaboration with Kamabo Co. The Sanitization Project. It was mostly kept a secret from cadets, for if the project was a success they would be subject to the process as well.

A year later, after Noodle turned 14 and gained her kid form, she was put on a patrol duty that would change her entire life. The patrol was at the cliff faces of Octo Valley, why she would need to patrol that area was a mystery to her since it basically deserted. In a chance encounter, she happened across Agent 3 and Captain Del of the new Squidbeak Splatoon, breaking into a fight for her life. Sometime during that fight, Del had attempted to tackle and subdue her. Though, neither accounted for the cliffside crumbling, causing them to fall into the depths of the valley.

By the luck of whatever entity watched over their realm and it’s deziens, the two survived the fall, somehow ending up in an abandoned station of the Deepsea Metro. The two called a truce, having lost their weapons and not knowing where in the world they where. They explored the tracks, and eventually they found themselves at the Central Station. There they also found... a ringing telephone? This telephone identifies Noodle as “User 10008”, telling them of the mission to reach the promised land, the 4 “Thangs”, and that Noodle does not appear to have the proper attire and equipment. After receiving a new outfit, a CQ Card, and a CQ-80, Del deduces that “the promised land” is the surface. And they’re only hope to reach the surface again in to find the 4 “Thangs” somewhere in the Metro.

They set out, meeting new people along the way. Like C.Q. Cumber and Iso Padre, and eventually come into contact with the members of the music group ���Crackpot”: Paula and Cyborg. Paula had also made the mention that 23E was no proper name for a person, causing Del to nickname her Agent 8 after the “User 10008” thing. Though that still didn’t sit right with Paula nor Cyborg, so they opted to name her after Cyborg’s public name: Noodle.

From there its up to Noodle to collect the 4 Thangs and get to the surface.
