My somewhat(?) hot take, if you can even call it that, is that whenever I see people going like "Why would Ratan ever fall in love with Amala of all people" my instinctive reaction is "Ofc you wouldn't understand."

I don't even mean that in a snarky way I just mean you are a literal human being trying to put yourself in the position of a divine being. You simply don't have their perspective of the world or of humanity overall.

Obviously, Remy didn't write the complexities of the KCD characters really well, but idk man if I was Ratan and my singular purpose in life was to maintain order not to mention serve the Dozen of all people on top of that 😭, I don't think it's super crazy that I would rebel at some point and fall in love with someone who opposes that completely. I too would be attracted to someone who is flawed, passionate, ambitious, who feels deeply. Who makes life interesting, who is well, human.
