Regarding the Traveler's journals; 1:

((It's a common thing for the Traveler to have a variety of journals filled with observations, attempted recipes, her notes on various constellations, creatures, flora and fauna found within the Flat, etc. Some of these notes also include clippings and pressings if they're safe to keep or not too large for the book. Larger samples (including potentially perishable stuff) that can't be pressed or dried in some way is stored separately either on her person or in her chosen abode.

This collection of hers is obviously known to Kariom and over time the young woman eventually notices notes within her journals that weren't written by her---remarks, corrections both blunt and overzealous, things crossed out and re-written, and so on.

Oddly enough this 'intrusion' (it's not an intrusion at all, not to her) becomes something that she looks forward to; to the point where she goes from leaving her books out and open for the star-reader to find to asking him questions directly, likewise Kariom goes from adding his additions and whatnot when she's not around, asleep, etc, to actively helping and/or discussing things with her in person. One could easily think of Kariom being protective of his home, people, customs (and make no mistake: some of his earlier commentary and such were wreathed in this sentiment to an extreme degree, some examples were particularly scathing in a dismissive way and very Flynn-esque) but ultimately she's coming from a place of love just as much as he is and Kariom eventually responds in kind and it becomes an intimate kind of bonding activity for them. He has his own journals, after all.

The Traveler is also known for attempting to use these journals to jar Kariom's memories when he's suffering from a spell of do-de/undergoing a shuffling to varying levels of success. Concerning specific notes Kariom for his part likes to leave the most detailed/thorough notes in regards to constellations and Tsourai customs. He'll read and comment on everything of course, no matter how sparse, and this includes pages on plants and such but because that particular topic reminds him of Flynn he can be huffy or short about it sometimes. Also her notes on ink experimentation are kept in a heavily bound book that, as far as she knows, Kariom is not aware of and will never be if she has her way. Said book never leaves her person under any circumstance that she can control.))
