#thinking the games are the only sonic media as if sonic hasn't been across all forms of media atp

tell me why i am getting an influx of folks gatekeeping sonic the hedgehog. like, be so fr. bro is a pop culutre icon, how the hell are you supposed to gatekeep that???

In Sonic 06's cutscenes, Silver's cuffs can be seen "closed" whenever he's not using his powers and "open (aka what we normally see his cuffs as)" when he's using or is preparing to use his powers. This goes for both his glove and boot cuffs. But to my knowledge, that small detail hasn't been seen in games (or other forms of media afaik) since 06. Do you know if there's a reason for that, either in-game or irl? Part of me thinks it's just something Sonic Team forgot about, but I'm still curious to see what you think.

Across all Sonic media there has been no elaboration on Silver’s cuffs. In fact they’ve only ever even been acknowledged in the Archie comics Post-Genesis continuity where they were registry/control items worn by everyone in the dystopian future. In Sonic 06 they have an unspecified connection to Silver’s powers as two of his level up items are add-ons to his bracelets that grant him the Psycho Shock ability(the Shock Bracelet) and enhanced psychokinetic strength(the Power Bracelet). The details of Silver’s cuffs opening and his head quills flaring up with his powers are only in Sonic 06 and haven’t been featured in any game since, though they are noted in concept art.

The lore reasons for these are unknown though the removal of Silver’s “flaring” in his cuffs and quills is likely to simply make him easier and more consistent to model and animate.

You seem like the best source for encyclopedic Eggman Canon; has he ever gone super/ been Chaos'd up some way? If he hasn't, what do you think he'd be like if he were - ever seen any cool fan designs?

You've got non game canon media like Fleetway having that Robotnik getting power from emeralds, and the movies of that Robotnik getting power from the master emerald but I wasn't a huge fan of how they were done and I'm not into those pieces of media as a whole. XD

In Twitter Takeover #6 they had a joke of Eggman saying he totally can and then apparently turning super and shooting eggs from his sleeves at Sonic and co lol. But in game canon which is my particular focus and area of expertise then no, the closest you're gonna get is using them as he intends by collecting them, in his creations, robots, weapons, and eldritch horrors for power, instead of on himself.

I think it's cool that he hasn't really. I like that he doesn't need to power up with them himself because he's already surprisingly immensely physically strong as a power type character and mentally powerful with his intelligence! And how he manages to hold up so well against his enemies who use their super forms against him while he's only used the power for his creations is awesome!

I've yet to see any fan made concepts that appeal to my personal preferences, they could be out there but I haven't came across them. The only ones I've ever seen all made him super ripped and buff with a six pack, as if he isn't already physically strong while fat and I'm not a fan of how it implies that he needs that in order to be. Plus none of the other characters develop muscles like that :P

Maybe it doesn't seem cool to anyone else but I pretty much like the idea of super Eggman just looking exactly the same but with a gold mustache raised up, that's all I've ever been able to envision for super Eggman lol. The focus being on his abilities instead of what he looks like is where it's at. He can be epic without a crazy physical transformation and show that fat is power!

It could further enhance his already existing physical strength and durability and he could attempt more physical combat as a result, since I looove when he uses his fists. 💕 And since he's already an incredibly strong and durable character with how skilled he in in battling Sonic and all the things he's managed to survive, he'd be scarily unstoppable that way!

He could also have the ability to just super power all his creations instantly and just summon his robots endlessly upon his enemies and supercharge his mechs- plus the latter often requires a lot of his physical strength to operate so his physical strength increase + the boost in power of his mech would be be crazy! He'd be absolutely invincible, Sonic and co are very lucky that he seemingly can't!

I love that he hasn't tried to power up physically with the emeralds in the games, as I feel it emphasizes how powerful and threatening he is as a villain with no super powers or strength buffs to be the one that can never be permanently defeated by the anthros with crazy powers that can destroy gods yet many times have to bring out their super forms to fight him! His natural physical strength and intelligence in creating powerful robots is epic 🥰

But if he ever did then I'd like it to be along these lines, where it compliments his already existing abilities and his appearance doesn't change massively because he's already perfect and super handsome as he is hehe 💜🥚
