I finally got my copy of The Two Towers and The Return of the King in the mail today! All three of the books were labeled as very good condition, but unlike the Fellowship the other two don't look completely new; but I'm actually really loving that a lot because I think it's just really sweet and touching to see that these two copies in particular were well-loved enough to be reread over and over until little corners of the pages/covers curled a little and the spines bent a little where the cover opens up. Also my copy of Return of the King had some really unexpected (thankfully in pencil) underlining and some sticky notes and skimming those little bits and pieces throughout the book was really cute too

#I had to erase a lot of the underlining and margin commentary unfortunately because I can't concentrate on reading with #things like that in my vision asdfghjkl; but I've kept the sticky notes where they are and took pictures of my favorite little pencil notes #It made me sad but also heavily relate to whoever had the book last whenever I'd see the little sad faces or smiley faces they drew #in at certain passages because the places they had smiley faces were parts I loved too and the sad faces were at parts that made me sad too #I also appreciate that this person shared a love for Merry and that they went out of their way to highlight the Frodo kissing Sam last thin #That last part made me giggle it was so funny to see Sam's name heavily underlined there asdfghjkl;#But it made me really happy to see that these copies especially were really really loved a lot #Even if I don't know who had them last and especially don't know who had the Return of the King one it felt nice and also really cool #to see the notes and everything because it almost felt like interacting with another fan but through reading their notes #and kind of getting to live vicariously through their written reactions #Overall 10/10 copies; definitely will cherish them and put some heavy books on them to flatten them out a bit
