Being able to go to my boss and say "the difference between me happy to work here until I go to grad school and wanting to quit everyday is this one thing" and have her be like yeah that's fair is SO POWERFUL
#yes I said something#on East there is 3 people#one quit a week before shit kicked off last year#and the other went out on medical leave for a month starting last week#and I realized amid this mess that I like this job when my workload is sane and want to quit when it's not#and I identified the problem to be the two huge states I inherited from my coworker that quit#because my remaining teammate went out last week we went through everything that East is responsible for#and divvied up what I was going to do and what other people can take off my plate for now#and it basically boils down to I'll keep doing what I've been doing but all the things I've been neglecting are being covered by others#and I think overall it's much less on my plate than before she went on leave#she asked me what would be helpful so that others aren't getting in my way#I made a case for what I wanted to keep and what I was 100% over and that plan went into place#I still have those 2 huge states but that's not really possible to be fixed at the moment and I now have time to actually handle them#they've had 5 interviews this week already so one day my workload will be normal#after the meeting today it's not insane anymore#kinda psyched myself out over telling her what made me want to quit#but she was already planning on helping me out and delegating to others so now she is aware of exactly where my limits are#I didn't feel very supported for a bit so this was really nice
