in yakuza 0, i do feel like one of my major critiques is what results in the second fight w wenhai. while i understand majima's reluctance to be indebted to someone again for finding a way out of this, & that they wanted a way to catch nishitani's attention, ultimately... sagawa already realized that there was no reason to brutalize "makoto"s face and gotten after majima.

rather, we could've had a moment that - in my opinion - would've helped immensely with foreshadowing the struggle at the end of majima's arc in y0: wenhai realizing majima can't kill the decoy, so he does it himself. death on behalf of the ones you love, and the guilt stemmed from realizing they're now burdened with another's life at the cost of their own safety. it's a much more personalized moment, and having that sentiment appear early on to be given voice much later when majima nearly crosses that line - that it's not only his conscience, but the one he cares about, who will bear the burden of blood... it would've meant so much more than this needless conflict, seeing as it ultimately appears as wenhai wanted it regardless.
