Mei backstory in ghost au 👀 what inspired her, what are her weapons, fav weapon?

hmmm...

mei's backstory in WMHG au is honestly pretty similar to canon, in that she grew up a lonely homeschooled kid (who is also Rich As Fuck), but i haven't fully decided on how dragon-y i want her to be yet. (bc like. wukong and macaque are still monkeys, and for the most part everyone is staying the same species (since like what was i supposed to do? make pigsy not a pig? de-blue-ify sandy? i cant just do that in good conscience)

honestly, the original reason she wanted to be a ghost hunter is bc she fell down a youtube rabbit hole and was like "holy shit this is so cool. breaking and entering, fighting ghosts, winning? i could do all that!" and promptly started doing it. and then, her first ghost hunt (which was solo bc she didnt really have Friends) turned out to actually be legit (most aren't), and she successfully put the ghost to rest (mostly through sheer dumb luck).

her weapons are mostly things like salt and garlic, but she also has a Fantastic track record with using her flashlight as an improvised weapon. (i did want to give her her family sword, since its important to her arc in the show and also sick as fuck, but unfortunately was too powerful to give her in this au for balancing reasons)
