The newspaper in my hometown is so useless lmao
#a man who lived here just died very tragically in an event that garnered a lot of media attention#like national news media attention (you have definitely heard of it)#and you'd think they'd talk about that! like mention it at all or run his obituary or something#but NOPE#they're really desperate to maintain the image of a picturesque small town where Nothing Bad Ever Happens#so the Incident is just going unreported on#same as the stabbing that just happened a few days ago#(it's a village of two thousand people a stabbing is a big deal)#but nobody is allowed to talk about it because that's Not The Vibe The Town Is Going For#just like how nobody talks about the nuclear disaster that happened in the 70s#or the dangerously radioactive and poisonous tap water :)
