For Vortex and Dead End- this is another one I think has to happen two different ways, because I can't see them approaching a relationship the same way. Vortex is here to press buttons and be a menace, and Dead End is just looking for something to liven up the endless tedium of his life and make his everpresent awareness of his own and everyone else's mortality slightly more bearable.
