Saw some fanart that got me thinking about how during the War, Koga would've still been walking behind Rei. Other students around would've been turning heads, scowling or gossiping to the other students with them, but Koga would still be there.

Tho it's always been rather interesting to me that the first years from the time of the War, except for Natsume, hardly ever bring up about the War themselves. Like Koga would've been right there with Rei, considering he was temporarily placed in DEADMANZ by Keito with Rei. Sure, Crossroads was the beginning & end of DEADMANZ, but Koga didn't believe that. In Ressurection Sunday, he kept pestering Keito to come practice with him while Rei was still traveling abroad for DEADMANZ, but there wasn't any mention of the War. I can believe Koga has a one-track mind & tuned a lot of it out, especially because he didn't know that Rei basically broke it off with Keito right on stage beside him.

But some of the other first years at that time?? I can only think that they don't bring it up because of the destruction of the War's records & trying to preserve it from the new first years now that they're second years. I still have a lot of translations from the ! era to read so I might definitely be totally off base, but I always found it weird that when Eichi was introduced in the anime, both Subaru & Makoto were all like '??? Who the heck is that?? Never seen him before??' when he's literally the student council president as he took the position over from Rei. Like they were first years at the school. How did they not know?? Wouldn't they have known fine && who put in place the DreFes system?? Edit: Oh I think some mentions of the War by them is brought up by their third year in like later events that haven't made it to ENGstars, but I am behind on readings.

I totally got off topic, like really far off topic. I just wanted to mention about Koga following behind Rei even during the War when he'd come back to the school. Just oblivious to the whispers & glances from those around them who're against the 5 Eccentrics. The only thing Koga caring about is wanting to sing & rock out on stage with DEADMANZ, which ultimately changes to the UNDEAD when Keito departs to let them do whatever they want. Or maybe he truly was aware of it, but he chose to still stick with the one person who he looked up to, wanted to be like & wanted to just be with.
