Well, why would they be suspicious? They were there when she was born, there can't be anything paranormal about her!
They are, however, worried about her. Her grades have been dropping and she's never in class. Something has to be going on, maybe class drama?

ohhh I have a request. Dani x y/n established relationship. Maybe them with the other girls or just something cute.
Secret Slips
Summary: The Katseye girls aren't stupid. Daniela's been acting weird. Little do they know that their favorite dancer is dating the guitarist of the rock band Heartbreakers.
Warnings: Y/N is a bad influence, the girls hate reader, a bit angsty, fluffy at the end, attempts at humor
---
The first to notice the shift was Manon. I mean, her and Daniela have been attached at the hip since Dream Academy. The Swiss girl had picked up on her favorite Latina's habits. She knew that Daniela went to sleep around 9, and spent an hour reading before bed. So it was weird when Dani would go an hour early and stay on her phone all night, silently giggling to herself. Once inquired about it, Dani responded with quickly with some excuse about switching to ebooks and reading more comedy books.
The next to notice was Sophia. As the leader and one of the oldest, she was always told of the whereabouts from all the girls. She knew of Dani's old friends and how every other week, Dani and her old friend group from Atlanta would hangout. Once a month, a party may be planned. So it came as a shock of how often Dani seemed to "forget" to tell her when she went out more often.
After that, it was Yoonchae. The youngest had learned to be more observant since her trainee days due to the language barrier. She picked up on body language, tone of voice, but oddly, the most telling was what the girls were listening to on Spotify. Yoonchae followed Dani on Spotify and could see the main dancer's listening activity. On a random Tuesday as Yoonchae opened up her music app and saw Dani's activity she was expecting the usual RNB or Hip Hop. Instead it was a rock.
Lastly, Megan and Lara. The ginger was already one of the most oblivious people ever, however, she was also the most suspicious. Teamed up with the equally suspicious and judgmental Lara, the two were a duo to not be tested with. Being chronically online had its perks. The duo was able to keep up with the latest trends, have fun with Eyekons, and be the first to comment on her fellow member's posts. Thus, it wasn't surprising when they were able to decipher little messages through their friends' posts. However, when Dani posted a pic of her out, at some pier, the cameraperson's identity a secret with the song "Kiss if Off Me" by Cigarettes after Sex, they couldn't help but face an enigma of what the meaning was.
It was all completely and utterly suspicious.
---
"The girls are suspicious", Daniela admitted as her and Y/N sat opposite of one another in a booth. The two had found some small cozy restaurant for a date night, away from prying eyes. The guitarist looked up from their shared milkshake, staring into her favorite girl's hazel eyes.
"Mhphm?"
The Latina rolled her eyes, a small smile tugging at her lips as she watching Y/N swallow her drink. "The girls. When we were in the car yesterday, Lara put on Cigarettes after Sex. She doesn't even like rock. Yoonchae posted a pic with the same song. And last night, Manon slept in the bed with me and told me to read her my book. They're catching on to our lie."
"You slept with Manon?"
"Oh, shut up", the Latina threw her napkin at Y/N who softly chuckles. She grounds her expression after seeing Dani's serious and worried face. "I'm tired of lying to them."
Her girlfriend sighs, leaning over and intertwining their Hans together. " We have to, Dani. You know how the ru-"
"The rules. Yes, I'm well aware, Y/N" Dani responds, her tone curt. She sighs, realizing how she sounded as she brings her hands to her temple. "I'm sorry... I'm just- I really like you. I'm want to see you more often."
Y/N nods. "Trust, I feel the same. I mean, Lara and Manon have done stuff with others, so what's the difference between us?" The guitarist know how stupid it is. The look her girlfriend gives solidifies it.
The guitarist was someone that the girls probably would never approve of. With a cocky attitude, Y/N donned a wardrobe dominated by sleek black leather and vintage band tees, effortlessly merging edgy style with a hint of allure by showing off her body, tats and piercings. Her bold flirtatiousness left a trail of captivated admirers, but the Heartbreakers, the band she fronted, had a questionable reputation. Despite being less than a year old, they had already made waves with catchy rock songs. Bangchan was notorious in the press for his late-night escapades with random women, while Taesan faced backlash for lyrics that seemed to promote reckless lifestyles. Yuta had even clashed with an interviewer over a rude question, further adding to their controversial image.
Sophia was at the forefront of chastising their fellow Geffen group. The other girls didn’t seem to care as much, but if they ever discovered the truth, they would undoubtedly side with Sophia without hesitation.
Y/N gave Dani's hand a reassuring squeeze. "Forget about them, hon. Come on, let's make the moment special," the rockstar grazes her calloused thumb over Dani's delicate knuckles. Dani softens, returing the squeeze. The topic of the girls is a gnawing presence for both of them, but they continue with their date.
---
"Okay, yeah, drop me off here," Daniela says, pointing to a curb. Dani wanted to make sure that the Kats didn't see Y/N, so after every date, she would have her girlfriend drop her off a block away. The neighborhood the girls lived in was safe enough to walk in at night, but Y/N was still a bit scared for her girlfriend. She would loiter around in her car until she saw her girlfriend safely enter her house.
Dani makes her way to the driver's side, Y/N already smiling. The two lean in to exchange a sweet kiss.
"Love you," Dani murmurs against the guitarist's lips.
"Love you too," Y/N replies, her heart fluttering. She watches as Dani steps out of the car, her silhouette illuminated by the streetlights.
"Text me when you get inside, okay?" Y/N calls out, her voice laced with concern.
"Promise," Dani replies, giving a reassuring wave before heading toward her house. Y/N waits, her eyes fixed on Dani until she reaches the front door. She watches as Dani fumbles with her keys, a small smile creeping onto her face.
Finally, Dani opens the door and turns back to wave one last time. Y/N waves back, feeling a mix of relief and affection. Once Dani disappears inside, Y/N takes a deep breath, her heart still racing from the evening's excitement.
Once she gets a text, Y/N takes a u-turn on the street and starts driving towards her own group's house. Dialing Yuta's number, Y/N multitasks her hands. One on the wheel the other holding her phone.
"Hello?" Yuta's groggy voice comes through the speaker of Y/N's phone.
"Hey, bro, I'm heading home."
"How was the date?" Y/N can't help but smile. Dani was a soft spot for the normally nonchalant and cocky girl. The night was fun (minus the Katseye part). As Y/N turns a corner, she moves her phone onto the passenger side seat, occasionally looking over and then back to the road.
"Fine. We talked, we ate. Thanks for the restaurant rec... God, she's so fucking beautiful—" Y/N's simping gets interrupted when she notices the soft material under her phone. Dani's jacket. The dancer had left it in her car, and Y/N knew it was her girlfriend's favorite one. It was a Playboi Carti jacket that Manon had gotten her. "... Uh, hey, Yu? Dani forgot her jacket in my car. I'm gonna drive back and give it to her, 'kay?"
"Yeah, that's fine. Just text me when you're gonna leave, 'kay? Drive safely. Love you... say it back, bitch."
"Yeah, yeah, love you too."
Y/N shivers as she steps out of the car, locking it with a click. She clutches her girlfriend's jacket tightly in her hand, the cold California night air seeping into her leather jacket and prompting her to pull it closer around her body. She makes her way down the street, eventually slipping through the large fence surrounding the Katseye house. Dani had once given her a map detailing the locations of all the motion cameras and windows when she needed to sneak inside.
Y/N has always felt conflicted about doing this. Part of her felt like a secret agent in a spy movie, skillfully deceiving and evading surveillance. The other part felt like a stalker, creeping around in the shadows. As she reaches the backyard, she peeks through the bushes at one of the windows. Inside, the girls are gathered in the living room, engrossed in a TV show, their backs turned to her. Daniela is nowhere to be seen, which likely means she's upstairs.
Y/N ties the jacket around her shoulders like some posh kid playing golf, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as she begins her ascent up the side of the house. The intricate outlines of the windows provide her with footholds, and she carefully navigates her way upward.
As she reaches the second floor, she pauses to catch her breath, glancing down to ensure she hasn’t attracted any unwanted attention. The living room below remains blissfully unaware of her presence, the girls still absorbed in their show.
Finally, she spots the window to Dani’s room, slightly ajar. With a final push, she hoists herself up and slips through the opening, half her body inside the room, the other standing on the house bricks underneath. The familiar scent of Dani’s room envelops her, a comforting mix of lavender and something uniquely her girlfriend.
“Dani?” Y/N whispers, her voice barely above a hush.
Just then, she hears a soft rustling from the bathroom. Her girlfriend wounds around the corner, her hair damp and a towel wrapped around her.
“Y/N!” Dani exclaims, her eyes lighting up in surprise.
“I brought your jacket,” Y/N replies, holding it up with a grin. “Thought you might want it back.”
Dani’s expression shifts from surprise to delight as she crosses the room in a few quick strides, wrapping her arms around Y/N. “You’re the best,” she murmurs, burying her face in Y/N’s shoulder.
Y/N chuckles, feeling the warmth of Dani’s embrace. “I couldn’t just leave it behind. Plus, I missed yo-"
A ding comes from Dani's phone. The notification sound is a special sound. The sound of the house camera app. Both of them pull away, their eyes wide. Downstairs there's a ruckus.
Dani's eyes dart to her phone, her face pale. "Oh no, oh no, oh no," she whispers, her voice trembling. Y/N's heart sinks as she realizes what's happening. The camera app notification means someone has triggered the motion sensors downstairs.
The sound of footsteps and muffled voices drifts up from the living room, growing louder by the second. Dani's eyes lock onto Y/N's, a mix of fear and panic written across her face.
"We have to get you out of here, now," Dani whispers urgently, grabbing Y/N's arm and pulling her toward the window.
Y/N's mind racing, she quickly assesses the situation. They can't go back down the way she came, not with the girls likely to be heading straight for Dani's room. She spots the door to the hallway, but that's a risk too. The only option is to get out the window and find a new way down.
Without hesitation, Y/N turns and begins to make her way back out the window, her heart pounding in her chest. However, Y/N seems to miscalculate a step and falls with a gasp.
Y/N lands with a soft thud on the grass, the impact jarring her for a moment. Just as she regains herself, she hears the unmistakable creak of the back door swinging open. Before Y/N can even move herself off her back, she feels bright lights unmistakable to those of phone cameras and a foot pressed against her chest, pushing her down. "Stop! Don't fucking move!", The voice is of Sophia's and Y/N guesses the foot probably is too.
The rockstar raises her hands while her heart races as she stares up at Sophia, who looms over her with a fierce expression. The other girls, are gathered behind Sophia. As Yoonchae moves her camera light, Y/N's face come into view. The girls stop their actions, their faces a mix of confusion, anger, and shock
"What the hell are you doing here?" Sophia demands, her voice low and dangerous, making Y/N flinch. So, when her girlfriend said her members didn't like her, she wasn't lying. The other girls exchange glances, their eyes darting between Y/N and Dani, who stands frozen by the window, her face pale.
"I—uh—" Y/N stammers, trying to gather her thoughts. The weight of Sophia's foot on her chest feels like a physical manifestation of the pressure building in her chest. "I just came to drop off Dani's jacket," admitting the truth. Sophia narrows her eyes, clearly knowing its not the full truth.
Dani steps forward, her voice shaky but determined. "Sophia, wait! It's not what you think. Y/N was just—"
"Just what? Why were you with someone like her?" Sophia interrupts, her tone sharp. Ouch. Y/N didn't think the Filipino hated her thaaaaat much, but clearly she was proven wrong.
The Latina, still at the windowsill like Rapunzel, breaks her composure at Sophia's words. Dani's eyes flash with anger, and she leans out the window, her voice rising. "Because I like her, Sophia! Y/N makes me happy, and I thought you would understand that."
Sophia's expression hardens, her foot still pressing down on Y/N's chest. "You think I don't want you to be happy? This isn't about that. It's about the fact that you’re hiding things from us. You know how we feel about the Heartbreakers. They have a reputation, and you’re dating one of them!"
Y/N feels a mix of frustration and hurt at the accusation. "I’m not just some fling, Sophia. I care about Dani, and I would never do anything to hurt her or the group." Sophia presses harder into her chest as a warning to stop talking, making the guitarist groan.
"Just-! Take your foot off of her, Sophia! Let's talk in the living room like civilized people!" The dancer's words cause the leader to sigh, finally taking her foot off of Y/N. However, as she gets up as is led into the house, she can't help but think it'd be better if Sophia had just squashed her to death.
---
"Alright, let’s hear it," Sophia says, her tone clipped. "What’s going on between you two?" The Kats were arranged on the larger sofa and across the floor, while the couple was seated across from them on a smaller loveseat.
Dani takes a deep breath, her hand finding Y/N's and squeezing it tightly. "I didn’t want to keep this from you all. I really like Y/N, and we’ve been seeing each other for a while now."
Megan raises an eyebrow, her expression skeptical. "But why the secrecy? You know how we feel about the Heartbreakers. They have a reputation for being trouble."
Y/N feels a surge of frustration. "I’m not trouble. None of the guys are. I care about Dani, and I would never do anything to hurt her or the group. I came here tonight to return her jacket, not to cause drama."
Lara scoffs, crossing her arms tighter. "You expect us to believe that? You’re part of a band known for partying and reckless behavior. How do we know you’re not just using Dani?"
Dani’s grip on Y/N’s hand tightens, and she shoots Lara a glare. "That’s not fair! Y/N is not like that. She respects me and cares about me. She's not once made me feel uncomfortable, okay? I thought you all would understand."
Yoonchae, who has been quietly observing, finally speaks up. "Dani, we just want to protect you. We’ve seen how the media can twist things, and we don’t want you to get hurt."
Sophia nods, her expression serious. "Exactly. Y/N, what do you even know about Dani? How long have you been together? What do you like about her?"
Y/N swallows hard, feeling the pressure of their questions. "I know a lot about Dani. She’s passionate, talented, and has the biggest heart. We’ve been seeing each other for a few months now, and I like her for who she is, not just because she’s a dancer."
Megan leans forward, her curiosity piqued. "What do you do when you’re together? Do you go out? Do you keep it low-key?"
Y/N nods, trying to convey sincerity. "We keep it low-key most of the time. We go to small restaurants, watch movies, and just enjoy each other’s company.... We went to a restraunt tonight and the for a drive. I want to make her happy, not put her in the spotlight."
Lara narrows her eyes. "And what about your band? You know they have a reputation, right? How do we know you won’t drag Dani into that lifestyle?"
Y/N feels a mix of frustration and hurt at the accusation. "First of all, I’m not here to hurt Dani. I want to support her and be part of her life. I care about her deeply. Secondly, I'd appreciate if you all didn't think so negatively of my group. We're not a bunch of alcoholic assholes that fuck around and party." Dani squeezes Y/N's hand, half in a way to calm her down, and the other to reassure her.
he room falls silent for a moment, the tension palpable as the girls process Y/N's words. Sophia's expression remains skeptical, but there's a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes.
Megan leans back, crossing her arms as she studies Y/N. "Okay, but what about the rumors? You know how the media can twist things. There are stories about your band that make it sound like you guys are just a bunch of party animals."
Y/N takes a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "I get that. But those stories are exaggerated. Sure, we have fun, but we’re also serious about our music. We work hard, and we care about each other. Just like you all do here."
Lara raises an eyebrow, her skepticism still evident. "But what about the late-night escapades? The wild parties? How do we know you’re not just putting on a front?"
Dani interjects, her voice firm. "You all know me. I wouldn’t be with someone who didn’t treat me right. Y/N has never made me feel uncomfortable or pressured. She respects me and my boundaries." The girls soften. It was known that Daniela had had previous relationships, all with douchebags. If Dani was supporting Y/N in this aspect, they could accept it.
Ever the doubtful one, Lara speaks up. "But what if things change? What if the fame gets to her head? We’ve seen it happen before."
Y/N nods, understanding their concerns. "I can’t promise that everything will be perfect, but I can promise that I’ll always communicate with Dani. If things ever feel off, we’ll talk about it. We've done it before and we'll do it again like every couple does. I want to build something real with her."
Sophia studies Y/N for a long moment, before sighing softly. Her face is more accepting and has a tinge of friendliness. "Okay, but you have to understand that we’re protective of Dani. We don’t want to see her hurt."
Megan nods in agreement. "Yeah, we just want to make sure she’s safe and happy. It’s not that we don’t trust you, but we need to see that you’re genuine."
Y/N meets their gazes, nodding her head in affirmation. "I get it. I want to prove to you all that I’m not just some fling. I care about Dani deeply, and I want to be a part of her life, and yours too."
Lara uncrosses her arms, her expression softening. "Alright, but you need to understand that we’ll be watching you. If you mess with Dani, we won’t hesitate to step in."
Dani smiles at Y/N, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, everyone. I’m sorry for keeping this from you. I just wanted to protect what we have."
Yoonchae, sensing the shift in the atmosphere, adds, "And if you ever need help navigating this, we’ve got your back. We’re a team, and we want to support you both." sending a smile at the pair. It seemed the couple already had their first shipper. "Just be honest with us from now on. We want to support you both, but we need to know we can trust you."
Y/N nods, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. "I promise, I won’t let you down."
The girls exchange glances and nod at one another. The conversation drifts to more comical topics. As it continues, the girls begin to relax, sharing stories and laughter. Y/N feels a sense of belonging wash over her, grateful for the chance to prove herself.
"Now that we’ve cleared the air," Manon says, breaking the silence, "how about we all watch a movie together?"
Yoonchae nods enthusiastically, her camera still in hand. "And I can document this moment! The first official hangout with Y/N!"
Lara rolls her eyes but can’t help the small smile that creeps onto her face. "Fine, but if she tries anything funny, I’m kicking her out."
Y/N chuckles, feeling a sense of belonging wash over her. "I promise, I’m just here for the popcorn and the company."
As the movie starts, Y/N glances at Dani, who smiles back at her, a warmth spreading through her chest. They cuddle and mid-way through Dani lays her head on Y/N's shoulder and Y/N without another word wraps an arms round Dani's shoulders. The two feel content, finally. Nothing to interrupt them.
"... Take your fucking hands off of her."
"SORRY, SORRY, SORR-
"SOPHIA, STOP CHOKING HER-!"

Alexia Putellas & Mapi Lèon & Ingrid Engen| Once or twice|
______________________________________
Orgy fic let's gooo
It stopped abruptly but I just wanted to get this first part out of the way, not much smut just the buildup
(sorry if there are mistakes, I'm sick right now)
Also I decided I'm going to write both of the ideas from my recent post ;)
TW: suggestive
____________________________________________________
In general you've had fantasies about a threesome before, maybe something even more, but it was just that a fantasy. You never entertained the thought for more than a second especially after you started dating Alexia. The captain was more than enough to satisfy your desires and you did your job to do the same.
So, you don't really remember when you started having these thoughts.
That fuzzy feeling in your stomach and the heat gathering inside you. Heat that had you rubbing your thighs together and your head spinning.
Spaniards are very affectionate. At first you thought it was a stereotype but the more time you spend in Barcelona the more you know that it's definitely true.
Alexia was sitting on the couch, practically draped over Mapi's lap, while her best friend softly grazed at the exposed skin of her waist. It was just the two best friends cuddling absolutely nothing dirty but something in the way Mapi had spread her legs to accommodate Alexia while the captain's red hoodie rose up and exposed her midriff made your head fill with lust. The way Alexia would occasionally glance up at Mapi with her wide hazel eyes and how Mapi would sometimes squeeze Alexia's side and smile down at her was working working you up shamefully fast.
And then there was Ingrid. Seemingly cold and calculative, the Norwegian was not one to be so physically affectionate unless it involved her tattooed girlfriend. So your surprise was expected when you saw her embrace your girlfriend from behind with Ingrid's much taller form caging the spaniard in her arms. Ingrid's hand came up to Alexia's blonde hair and she tugged on it once. Then the black haired woman leaned down and said something that made Alexia giggle.
These are occurrences that would have every person jealous but for you it was the opposite. You didn't know how to handle yourself after the realisation, how to confront your feelings and tell Alexia about them.
You have thought about telling her more, especially now that these thoughts are plugging your head every day but you're anxious. About how's she's going to take it and what she'll think of you.
If you've been through countless scenarios in your head but none were close to what happened.
You're both sitting on the couch watching something on the tv when you suddenly burst.
"Mapi and Ingrid are acting weird with you."
Alexia looked at you, surprise evident in her face then a flicker of something else as she tilted her head.
"Weird how?"
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes at how oblivious your girlfriend was. Surely she must've noticed the huge difference in behaviour.
"They're touching you a lot."
Alexia moves closer to you, your lips mere inches apart and you gulp.
"Does it bother you?"
You bite your lip knowing that this is your only chance to confess your feelings to Alexia.
"No" you sigh and close your eyes for a second "I... like it." Alexia smirks and finally leans down to connect your lips. When you pull back you're both breathless with your pupils blown wide.
"So..?"
Alexia grins at home cute you are. You still have no idea this was all planned. Alexia knows having other people join you is a fantasy of yours but she also knows you'd never tell her that. She decided to take matters into her own hands and it worked.
"Just leave the rest to me amor."
A few days and a lot of preparation later you find yourself and your girlfriend sitting on your car that's parked outside of her best friend's apartment. Alexia noticed your nerves and placed one of her hands on top of yours and rubbed the back of it with her thumb. You smiled at her and nodded, now appearing more confident than before as you opened the car's door.
Knocking on the door of the apartment you took a moment to look at your girlfriend as you waited for the other two women. Alexia looked so pretty, light make up covering her face, the pink crop top exposing her abs and the jeans she chose only made her ass look even better. You licked your lips already starting to feel that familiar tug on your lower stomach.
When the door opened Ingrid and Mapi smiled at you and urged you inside.
You've been to their apartment numerous times but still you were looking around as if you've never been here before, all to avoid looking at the other women. Ingrid was tired of the awkward silence so she decided to nudge Maria towards Alexia while she took a step in front of you and took your face in her hands. You got lost in her gorgeous blue green eyes so when Ingrid brought your lips together you gasped in surprise. You didn't take time to bounce back, immediately bringing your hands on her hips and pulling her in further.

Part 2 of my au stuff!!
It's basically more about my oc but with some Koopaling headcanons this time ^^
Lemmy and Wendy!!
She doesn't interact with Lemmy that much, but when she does she gets questions like...well THAT XD. So she tends to steer clear of him (not in a mean way just cuz its awkward sometimes)
However, she spends a lot of time with Wendy since they're the "only girls". Wendy has a crush on Hazel but she's completely oblivious XD (Wendy's crush doesn't mean much tho, since she falls in and out of love very easily..)
I'll put the rest under the cut if anyone's still interested ^^
Iggy and Junior!!
Like Lemmy, she doesn't talk to Iggy much at all.. They kinda act like a freak around her.. that's probably why... They are OBSESSED with her hair for some reason and constantly asks her if they can use her pendant for "experiments"
She runs into Junior quite a lot, they don't talk about much but she's been asked several times if she's his mother, she politely says no, but Jr's a bratt and doesn't like people saying no to him... That's where Bowser often steps in...
Roy and Morton!!
Her and Roy don't really "hang out" but he sees himself as more of a bodyguard.. Hazel doesn't mind, she's used to her dad being like that... Roy's pretty fearless but if there's one thing that terrifies him, its piranha plants!! XD (even baby ones)
She sees Morton quite often, they go walking in the forests, and when I say they have a lot to talk about I mean A LOT (well mostly Morton but she doesn't mind listening she finds him interesting) XD) They're out there for hours sometimes!!
Larry and Ludwig!!
(She's the closest with these two, she's more comfortable with them. Totally not cuz they're my favourites...)
She's seen with Larry a lot and he likes to show her video games (mostly Minecraft) She doesn't really get it but she thinks it's cute xp. And she kinda sees Larry as the little brother she never had..
She's also seen with Ludwig a lot, (she trusts him the most) like I said before, they often train together and Lud's pretty patient with her. They also share common interests, like music and reading!
That's about it really, just wanted to Share how she gets along with them!

It started with a Christmas card.
Well, it started with Hazel and Nico's Christmas Card.
It went like this: The first year after Hazel retired as praetor and enrolled in a university, she was in a photography club and created Christmas cards of her and Nico. They sent it out to the rest of their friends, captioning it "From the family of Di Angelo Levesques to yours, Merry Christmas!"
That went on for three years until someone proposed (they proposed simultaneously), and Nico's tears ran down his cheeks with no abandon as he walked Hazel down the aisle and off into the arms of Frank. As Frank's best man, Jason had to fight the urge to gather him up in a hug and hold him until Nico stopped crying.
He did just that later in their hotel room (someone had booked a single room for the both of them, how strange).
Now, two months until Christmas, Hazel was planning a bigger Christmas card. Her, Nico, and Frank.
But maybe. Also Jason?
"So." Frank pulled up a book on how to talk smoothly. "I think you casually go up to Nico."
"Yes?"
"And say. Hey, since we're adding Frank to the Christmas card this year, should we do a thing where Frank and Jason wear matching outfits?" Frank suggested. "Just slide it in, assume that Jason's going to be in the card."
"Would that work?" Hazel asked. "What if he asks me why Jason would be in the card? Frank, they gave us separate wedding presents! Not a joint present!"
"But I don't want to hurt Jason's feelings by having a card with just us and Nico!"
"But they gave us separate presents!"
"Jason's feeling!"
"It's not like I haven't talked to him about this," Hazel said. "He tells me he's not ready for it."
"Which is unfair to Jason," said Frank. He doesn't understand why Nico was dragging his feet. "This is why Jason's being obtuse about it as well."
"Well hold on. Maybe Nico says he's not ready because Jason is oblivious. He wasn't exactly Mr. Romantic with Piper."
The two of them agreed to disagree on their first major argument since the honeymoon, and tabled the discussion for later.
Frank found himself the victor though, as three days later he saw a text (from your Hephaphone to theirs! Ready for the internet? Want to send silly images? The latest Hephaphone is monster proof!) from Hazel to Nico that read <So when are you and Jason going to come over for the Christmas card shoot?>
Nico hasn't sent a response yet.
Unbeknownst to Frank, Nico is off having his third existential crisis in a year.
A few years ago, exactly a year after he and Jason decided to move in together to save on rent, Jason invented the idea of a friend cuddle.
The reason? Heating is expensive, and so why not share a blanket on the couch, and also share body heat in the meantime.
Nico, as the son of the literal god of wealth, said yes of course that makes perfect sense, we can't afford to spend that much on heating! We can friend cuddle while we play wii sports together in the winter. Sometimes Jason would wrap him up in his arms and cuddle against the warm, designer sofa while they watch Milf Manor. Sometimes they switch and Jason is the little spoon and they take a nap listening to the D.C. traffic.
Most of the time, Jason travelled across the country, and Nico travelled across the world. Half the time they're not even in their "bachelor pad", its residents flitting across the world performing feats of heroism (or other more mundane tasks nowadays, thankfully). It functioned as a safehouse for other demigods, the guest bedroom permanently in a state of welcoming for wandering teenagers in need of a break.
That was the only reason why, when the two of them were in D.C together, they share a room. Because of course they can't afford a three bedroom apartment in D.C.! And of course, they have separate beds, because bros room together all the time.
Okay, fuck that. Yes, they were more than bros and maybe Nico and Jason both enjoyed cuddling each other in a more than platonic but less than Romantic way and if Nico could spend the rest of eternity not having to Deal with trying to come to grips with trying to define this relationship and possibly breaking the great balance they have. That would be great, thank you.
His father in the Underworld seemed to want to do just that, like every other time he changed Nico's world.
"So. My dad just bought me a house," There it was, the dream. Nico di Angelo was a homeowner now. "It's near the weed dispensary, the neighborhood that always smell like Amsterdam, we looked at it once, remember?" Back when they had first decided to rent a place together, because adulthood meant stepping out and getting a place on your own, meant stepping outside the box where you never felt like you belonged and finding someplace you did.
It was a choice between a large place in a tough neighborhood (with lots of room, a lot of space!), or a small place in a nice neighborhood (tight quarters, not much space to move around). And well. Of course a nice neighborhood is better, right? Because of....safety issues.
"Oh," Jason absorbed the knowledge, he looked at Nico and could almost see the frenzy of thoughts that were chasing around in his head. He could almost see the sentence You can have your own room again, before he wrapped his arms around Nico from behind. "That would be a good place to bring demigods on the run, or on quests. Teenagers need a lot of space, and it's in a neighborhood with a lot of mortal smell. Much better than this place, we should thank your dad."
"....Right." Nico calmed down. "I mean, we can't deprive the teens of a really great safehouse."
"No, of course not," Jason rested his chin on Nico's shoulders and blew a puff of air into his ears. "Can't do that at all, that would be too selfish."
"I love-" Nico stopped, "how great, this situation turned out to be. For the kids."
It was the third time this year Nico almost said I love you, and Jason counted that as a win.
"I love that, too."
Nico looked at Jason, so comfortable in the moment. So soft, sometimes he was so sure that Jason would kiss back. Most of the time he was scared of what would happen if Jason didn't. Either way, there was no way the two of them are moving into a new, more spacious place.
No changes needed.
His Hephaphone beeped again, with Hazel's message.
.....Some changes were apparently can't be stopped.
Nico and Hazel were family, and they appear on Christmas cards together. Well, now Frank was family, with Hazel. And by all rules of convention he and Hazel should send their own Christmas card. Except Hazel wants Nico in there.
Which would leave Jason out of the picture, officially. That didn't sit right with Nico.
Frank, Hazel's husband, matching together on a Christmas card with his brother in law's......best friend. Roommate.
nico.di.angelo.exe stopped working for the fourth time that year, then started working up again. It's a very normal thing. Jason is just like family, so of course he'd fit in the Christmas card. In fact, he should've been in Nico and Hazel's Christmas card from the beginning. Technically they were cousins! Immediately Nico recoiled from the cousin thought and gagged inside. No, not cousins. Just found family, best friends, something more something less. And that works perfectly fine.
That was how Jason and Frank found themselves cosplaying as Santa's reindeer with a grumpy Nico and ecstatic Hazel dressed up as two different Santas.
First, a photo of Frank of Jason sitting in front of a sleigh, with Hazel and Nico holding the reins of the sleigh. Then, the photographer wanted "the two couples" to have one person piggyback the other. The last time Jason carried Nico on his back was a couple of months ago that year, when Nico twisted his ankle and just had to be carried everywhere for an entire week. Jason couldn't let his best friend just limp around like a sad sack!
Nico nestled against Jason's neck and ghastly smiled at the camera, just like all of his cute ghoulish smiles in the other pictures. Jason couldn't wait to see the pictures. Is it normal to be dazzled by the cuteness of something that looked creepy? Because he felt that everyday. His roommate looks creepy and it is incredibly cute.
After the photoshoot, as Hazel and Jason poured over the photographs, Jason picked out his personal favorites as Hazel picked hers.
"I'd like that one printed and framed," He said, pointing to one where he and Frank were holding Hazel and Nico in their arms in princess carries. "This one is nice, too." It was a piggyback carry, and he'd adjusted Nico without warning, surprising him into grabbing onto the antlers he was wearing on his head. "Actually, how much would cost for you to send me the rest of the photos digitally?"
"Nico!" Jason called out, "We should hang this next to the T.V."
Nico came by to look at the photos that Jason picked out. He looked really happy, he was used to looking and being happy recently, for the past few years. There he was, and there Jason was, next to his sister and her husband. A family.
"Yeah," he said softly. "It'd look great."
"We should pick some out for the new house, too," Jason said. "I'd ask Leo and the other Hephaestus kids for some defense mechanisms to put there. We can finally call in our favors, have a housewarming registry."
Frank not so subtly pulled Hazel away from the warm and bubbling atmosphere forming around Jason and Nico.
He mouthed to her Just like our wedding gift registry!!!!!!
Hazel screamed silently and mouthed back It's finally happening!!!!!!!
"It'd be a great thing," Jason said, "For them kids and teens, of course."
Nico jolted. "Yeah, for the kids, and the teens."
But even more than usual, he felt the urge to lean up against Jason, so he did.

( ELLA PURNELL + CIS WOMAN + SHE / HER ) ⸻ meet PERSEPHONE 'PENNY' MITCHELLS. the nail technician at tres beux beauty salon is glen ellen's very own BRAINLESS BEAUTY, who has been in town for twenty three years. while they are only twenty three, they can be very FACETIOUS but if their friends mentioned them, you'd think they were more EXUBERANT. in a town where every one knows everyone, it's hard to keep a secret, but i think the killer knows that [REDACTED], and it's bound to get out sometime soon.
BASICS
full names: persephone isabella mitchells. preferred name: penny. gender & pronouns: cis-woman, she / her. sexuality: bisexual. age / birthday: twenty three, birthday tba. occupation: nail technician @ tres beux beauty salon. character traits: +exuberant, +bubbly, +loyal, -facetious, -oblivious, -naïve. siblings: felicity, jasper, tommy, elizabeth, theodore, hazel, gabriel, isaac & harper. faceclaim: ella purnell.
INFO
out of all of the mitchells siblings, persephone had always been a bit of an anomaly. where a majority of them were a little rough around the edges, she was soft and sensitive. even when times were tough, which was essentially all the time, penny was bright and optimistic. any outsider would say she stuck out like a sore thumb, the closest thing to an angel that the mitchells had. it came effortlessly, that was just who she was.
penny has never been the smartest tool in the shed, not by a long shot. to put it bluntly, she'd incredibly stupid and seriously lacking in the braincell department. also naïve and believes nearly everything that other people tell her. it means that she's not very street smart, friends and family have to force her to see things as they truly are before she actually gets it otherwise she's completely oblivious.
what she lacks in brains, penny makes up for in beauty. it's certainly an asset that she knows how to use, considering she's had more boyfriends than the number she can actually physically count to. after any of her relationships breaking down, it wasn't long before there was a new one to take it's place.
fortunate enough to have a best friend in the form of her twin sister, birdie. they're like two peas in an odd little pod. they made the most of their shitty childhood by relying on one another as the other's safe haven. it couldn't hurt that they were so similar, too! at least, as far as penny was concerned.
penny has a bit of a reputation in town for her sex life. anyone around her age has almost definitely heard that she puts out. in fact, it became such a popular rumor back in high school that boys would pay her attention just to try to sleep with her.
she consistently takes up way too many hobbies that she never keeps up with. her current hot interest is roller-skating and to everyone's surprise she's frankly quite good at it.

Clone Caution
Hi, I was super euphoric today thinking about Pizza Tower, so consider this a Part II to the writing I did last night of Voise's origin! This is about Voise again, but is more a character exploration piece on beloved cowboy the Vigilante. Takes place just shortly after the last.
Since the destruction of the Pizza Tower, he's taken it upon himself to be the guardian of the small 'town' they've created, which is just everyone's residence and establishments. He's training the toppins to be on the look out for the possible return of Pizzahead, as foretold in one of the ending images.
So, prior to the writing of the origin story, we were planning stuff for the bond between Voise and Vigilante, but as we realized, things weren't gonna start perfect. Them being a clone sets him off into.. vigilance. to a bit of an extreme degree.
-------------------------------------------------------
It was an awkward evening for the Vigilante. From what he could tell just making his rounds through their settlement in the middle of nowhere, Peppino was more on edge than usual, and things were quiet from the local couple. Too quiet. There always had to be something rustling from Noisette's cafe, and usually Noise was skipping around, causing mayhem in his wake, or standing outside for a smoke. Really, when thinking about it, he hadn't seen them since this morning.
"Sir?" Spoke one of the toppins, the pineapple to be exact. Vigert was very serious about teaching all of them how to defend themselves, and he had to teach them to keep a watchful eye, danger could be lurking everywhere. "Do you, like, feel like you're being watched?"
He ceased his movements, rotating his slimy head to get a look at his surroundings. He couldn't immediately see anything, but come to think of it, something seemed off. Pulling out his gun, he slid his way around some of the establishments. No one was hiding. "You seem to be onto somethin', li'l one." He spoke.
He continued to survey his surroundings before the toppins looked upwards. "False alarm, I think it's just Noisette watching us."
Confused, the Vigilante turned his gaze upwards, and he saw a brief silhouette of what appeared to be her on the roof, but it didn't say anything and disappeared as soon as he saw it. Putting away his gun, he grunted. "That's weird. Best I go check on her. Go get yourselves some rest." The toppins cheered as they quickly ran away from their training, while he slithered to Noisette's cafe.
Placing a gloved hand on the door, he opened it, hiding his slight concern for his best friend, as he saw her waving towards him. "Hi Vigi! Oh my gosh, you would not believe the day I had!"
"Why were you just starin' at me outside?"
"I wasn't? I've just been standing here."
"… Where's Noise?"
"In the back."
Balling his hand into a fist, he focused on her with concern. "I think somethin's up, there was someone who looked like you on the roof and---" Shifting his eye away from her for a second he saw something in his vision. It took him some moments to realize it was the same figure, now just looking at him from behind the counter. Pulling out his gun, he shouted, "Noisette, take cover!"
"Huh?" She was oblivious for a moment, though she soon turned behind her, where he was aiming his pistol. Realizing Voise had come back from being outside, she soon got in front of them. "No, no, no, don't shoot! This is Voise! They aren't harmful!"
"How do you know?!"
"They're my clone (and Noisy's). They just showed up today, and I'm adopting them!"
"So that's why things have been quiet… I'm sorry, but this has to be some sort of trick from Pizzahead. He's the only person I know who has cloned one of us."
"You don't know a lot of people, Vigi."
"Then where do they come from?"
"The ruins of the tower!"
"That just proves my point, Hazel! They are clearly meant to be spying on us, getting our secrets. You can't just house this thing."
"You're assuming so much. They wouldn't do anything harmful. Just look at them."
Noisette moved out of the way, and Voise was still completely dead silent, just looking back and forth between them. Smiling towards the cowboy, they spoke. "Hi. Heard about you."
"I bet you have." He muttered.
"I like your gun."
"You'd like your hands on it, wouldn't you? Why are you here?"
"No direction. Needed home."
"Oh really now? You got no clue where Pizzahead is?"
They shook their head in response. "Do you not trust Noisette?"
"What's that got to do with anything?"
The bunny eared baker soon stepped in. "I think they are trying to say that in your care for me that you think I wouldn't handle myself. Just because something came from the Tower doesn't mean it's some sort of scheme. We were raised in the Tower!"
"That's different!" He responded. Yet, he was beginning to put away his weapon. Maybe he himself was too on edge. Sure, he still couldn't feel himself trusting Voise, this entity was still too suspicious, still too many questions, but could he really allow himself to treat his best friend like a defenseless damsel? No. "Does Noise know about them?"
"Yeah, he decided he's taking them in as an apprentice."
"Oh. Goody. Well, I'll take my leave. Sorry I almost opened fire in your establishment."
"No harm, no foul, Vigi."
"Right. Be seein' ya tomorrow." As he slithered away, he looked back at the clone, squinting and pointing at his eyes before pointing at them. His glare intensified as they crossed their arms and titled their head.
Soon the night passed, and it was a couple days after the incident. Another morning had arrived, and things between the Vigilante and the Voise hadn't improved. Sometimes they had left somewhere with Noise, but on a morning like this, they were 'helping' Noisette around the cafe. Didn't seem like they were doing much other than sitting quietly on one of the stools.
Both he and Peppino usually arrived in the cafe for their morning coffee, but for the past while, when Peppino saw them around, he usually bolted, just like today. He didn't really budge as he sipped on his coffee. Occasionally he would turn his attention to them as they started chewing on a honeycomb. Why Noisette had raw honeycomb somewhere in her kitchen was anyone else's guess. "Still here?" He grumbled to them.
"Yep."
"Haven't been slitherin' away from your caretakers in the night, have ya?"
Noisette soon piped up as she was brewing another pot of coffee. "Sometimes before bed they would go into the yard and collect leaves while walking on all fours. We've got cameras and they've never strayed far."
He wasn't very satisfied, still not believing that their act was a genuine one. Though, that was too specific of a story and they were under enough surveillance.
"Pizzahead probably forgot about me." Voise spoke up.
"How can you be so sure?" Vigilante asked.
"Was unconscious for a while." They paused, lifting up their mask and hair to show their wound from getting hit in the head with a brick. Pulling down their mask, they surprisingly continued. "Probably seemed preeeeeetty dead."
He grunted in response. It had been too soon of knowing them, they weren't the lying type quite yet, and Noisette hummed as if she knew that this was a fact. He briefly dwelled on the fact that Fake Peppino didn't have any loyalty to his creator, and in fact was more dependent on who he was cloned from. But that seemed too coincidental, it couldn't be a case that happened twice, especially since Voise wasn't as goopy and more capable of speech, the short sentences appearing more as a quirk.
But he wasn't ready to let his guard down. Life was too good, having people to protect and being free from Pizzahead's deception, even if that meant losing what his grandpappy established. "Well. I best get the toppins ready fer their trainin'." He said, slipping off of the stool and making his way to the door.
"Oh! That reminds me!" Noisette had a smile on her face. Unknown from him was the fact that it was a very plotting, knowing kind of grin. She had a plan. "Noisy and I are going to go on a date tonight. We need someone to watch Voise, and we were hoping you would."
"They can't be on their own?" He immediately asked, rather impulsively. Wait, this was perfect, he could keep his eye on them. "Er, forget I said that. I'll do it."
"Yay, thank you so much, Vigi!!" She ran over to give her friend a hug. She did feel some guilt that she was lying to her bestie, but he needed to give her new family member a chance. He was being stubborn and she wasn't entirely having it.
He soon left and the day continued as normal. The toppins were brushing up on their target practice, and he tried to take his mind off the matter until he noticed Voise behind the fence. He jumped slightly realizing their presence and saw them motion their hands, indicating that the target was crooked. They soon left soon after, returning to the cafe, mouthing 'see you later.'
Later quickly came, and he entered the cafe just as the couple was about to leave. Noise gave Vigilante a look, all the while adjusting his hair. "Now, cowboy, you don't have to show off that you're the fastest shot from nowhere by gunning down my protege."
"Don't be silly, Theo!" Noisette chirped. "Vigi's a much kinder soul than to shoot family. He's going to protect them. See you two!" She couldn't help but giggle, giving a wink towards her boyfriend as they left. Once they were out of the establishment, Noise grabbed onto her, utilizing his jetpack to get them where they wouldn't be easily seen, which was the roof of Peppino's pizzeria.
"Gotta say, this is a pretty clever idea. And I know clever ideas." He told her, looking at his girlfriend with utter pride that she was capable of withholding the truth.
"Maybe. You don't think he's onto us, do you?"
"He's a person prone to focusing too hard on something. I think the thought that you'd lie to him to get him to let go of his paranoia isn't even a concept in his head."
"True. Oh no! I just realized I might have left my lemon and bacon pie in the oven!"
"…Oh. …. Well, we can't blow our cover. They'll probably discover it."
As they looked in the direction of the cafe, it turned out that inside, in the two minutes that had passed, was complete silence. It was pretty awkward, and Vigert didn't exactly feel like saying the first word.
"Evening, Mr. Lantte" Voise eventually spoke.
He tipped his hat at them, very slowly. "Howdy. What exactly are you going to do without them? You can't really do anything funny with me around."
"Are you sure?"
"… What're you planning?"
"Nothing. Can do stuff, though."
"Not without me trailin' right behind ya."
"Of course."
They both continued to sit, Vigilante expecting Voise to just sprint off, but instead they pulled out their sketchbook and doodled, looking up at him occasionally. He looked over their shoulder, stretching his slime to do so. They didn't exaclty mind, as he got to see the page that included their beginnings. He could feel himself worried at how they depicted their abandonment under the ruins of the tower, everyone was so eager that all was said and done, and didn't think anything else was left.
Was that all there was, was just someone who was finding their purpose in life, finding where they belong? They turned their attention towards him, breaking him out of his thoughts. He squinted at them. "I still don't exactly trust you."
"You will."
"Ya know, you don't exactly help yer case by speakin' the way you do."
"But it's fun." They smiled at him, appearing much more innocent. Noisette's charm definitely still existed in them, and that's how they knew they'd win him over. "So. Who's the ghost?"
"Figures you've been watching me enough to see him. That's my grandpappy. He had a pretty nice livin' back at the Pizza Tower. Lived there all his life, practically raised me. He was a humble farmer, taught me all I knew. … Then a chicken killed him."
"The long one?"
"Yup."
"That's pretty cool."
"Cool?!"
"Died as he lived."
"… Surrounded by chickens?"
"Yeah." He stared in shock before leaving a small chuckle. "Okay, you got me there. It's not like he's really gone, his ghost hangs around, still watches over me. I still don't like that chicken though."
"Right."
"… What're you even drawin', by the way?"
They showed their current page. It was the Vigilante depicted as a very slimy cat with a cowboy hat.
"Well. I can say I never saw that drawn before. Pepperman would never."
Voise blinked a couple times, unsure of why everyone kept bringing up this Pepperman. Then their eyes widened, sniffing the air. "Does… something smell like burning?"
A drop of sweat oozed out of the cowboy as he realized how terrible of a sign that was. Running to the kitchen area, he saw a very smoke-y inside of the oven. "Oh shit! Kid, get me the fire extinguisher!"
Leaping up from the stool, they ran to the aforementioned extinguisher, struggling to get it to activate. He saw them struggle and swiftly grabbed it, managing to crack it open and get some foam to spurt out. It seemed to start to suppress the disaster waiting to happen. They both stood there, scared…
Then the oven promptly exploded, the whole cafe going down, Vigert swiftly using himself to cover Voise's body to protect them. He didn't realize what he was doing before it happened, but it was the right thing to do, his instincts knew that and got the better of him.
As only ash remained of the cafe, the Noise couple stared in complete awe. Not the good kind of awe. It was pretty bad. Leaping up from where they were hiding, they ran towards the two of them. "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! That was my bad!" Noisette yelled.
What remained of the establishment was the burnt pie, which Voise promptly picked up and started to eat. The Vigilante watched them, before seeing Noise look at him with a rather smug expression. "I saw that, y'know."
"Saw what?"
"You protected Voise. The so-called thing you thought would be giving information to Pizzahead."
"He did that!?" Noisette yelped, running to hug her best friend. "I'm so proud of you, Vigi! You truly do care!"
"The place was about to blow up, what was I supposed to do?" He responded. He turned away from them, but he was pretty proud of himself. Maybe it wasn't worth getting so worked up over this clone that was eating literal ash pie. Maybe it was way more important to be concerned over what they were going to do now that Noisette's place of employment went down in flames. Eh, who are we kidding, the place will regenerate in its next appearance. Cartoon logic!

it feels like a dream, to have his family back. all of them in the same room again. he feels drunk on it, the edges of his vision are nearly hazy, relief has every limb on his body feeling uselessly weak. that could be the exhaustion and the dehydration talking, too, but he pushes that away. he refuses to be away from them long enough to take care of himself. hazelle insists on it, as is expected of her, and he meets her halfway by offering her the promise of rest as soon as he can. he knows he won't be able to go too far into the afternoon before she's forcing him to sleep.
he basks in the booming laughter of his siblings and the way his mother's face lights up with it. she even lets them wreak havoc around her hospital bed, within reason. they poke each other and tease, playing childish jokes, as it should be. he hopes they continue to be blissfully oblivious to everything around them.
he takes them on walks around the wing, to give his ma a much needed break from handling all of them at once. he thinks it's funny, the way his hand is still covered in soot against their already cleaned up ones. it's almost as if he's coming back home from working in the mines, again, when the days had felt endless and he thought he'd never see his family again, if he got too much in his head. the reality of losing them had been closer than ever now, but they're safe. he reminds himself of it constantly, and tries not to flinch when posy's hand slips from his to run off ahead.
he doesn't expect to see her. katniss looks so fragile that he worries, for a moment, that posy might break her in half with a hug too tight. it's an odd sight, something that unearths some kind of sadness from his chest, a weird brand of nostalgia, although he can't recall ever seeing her look this frail before. it's hard, to process that, so he doesn't. he stands, glued to his spot on the ground, and lets his siblings greet her first.
he'd spent the last week resenting her so easily. it'd been effortless. he'd felt abandoned, though the phone in his suite worked both ways and he never once considered picking it up. he had said things he wasn't proud of, he had thought even worse things he couldn't take back from his mind. but there she is, and she is still one of his people. but that is an indisputable fact. that doesn't change the abyss between them, and it doesn't melt the rigidness in his muscles as he stands there, watching, a step too far to be seen.
he approaches, at last, because he must. "katniss," his voice calls out, testing her name. he'd known she was sedated, kept somewhere safe and secluded. he hadn't tried to see her yet -- he would've eventually. just not yet. she charges towards him and his arms are ready to catch her, wrapping around her middle, knowing this embrace too well. this time, his arms are careful in their hold. she throws her tearful relief onto him like a blanket, and he almost feels unsuitable for it. undeserving. it's like he forgot that she could be worrying about him, as his mother had been, and his bewilderment feels misplaced. "you're alive, too," he offers, his voice lighter than it had been in weeks. lighter than the last time they spoke, no doubt. "i went to twelve, got people out. me 'n cael." peeta's brother, is the sentence that dies on his tongue. he doesn't want to bring up his name, at the risk of hurting her with it. "we're okay." he pulls away from her to see her face, but keeps an arm around her middle, supporting her, just in case. he doesn't like to see her cry. the last time it happened, he hadn't felt a thing. now, his heart shrivels at the sight. asking are you okay or any variation thereof would feel redundant. and asking prim later would earn him a more honest response. "didn't expect to see you walking, catnip." the nickname feels alien on his tongue but it's right, like he knows this is the part he plays. this is what she needs from him.
setting : district thirteen infirmary, around six or seven am in the fourth day after the arena blew up. with : gale hawthorne (cameos by primrose, rory and posy bc that matters 2 me) @mxllitiam
at some point, she realizes she has been placed in a singles room. apparently, this is a great privilege — mockingjay privileges, she almost rolls her eyes at that — but as the drugs begin to wean out — something lilian has extensively argued about, apparently, as her mother should outrank a vanishing mentor's advice — katniss realizes she doesn't like it at all. in a way, she's grateful about the privacy from other people's eyes and judgment, but someone at the door keeps calling primrose to go help in the actual infirmary and katniss begins to feel bad about keeping her there, holding her hand, all the time (nevermind that if she's in such close supervision, she can't find a way out. and that's the biggest concealed concern whenever she hears the doors swoosh).
they let her out. it's not truly a permanent discharge yet, but it's her first attempt of life in four days and it's not like she can viciously attack anyone when she needs prim's arm around her so her legs won't give in as she walks. they go through the levels together, accompanied by a soldier that gives her a look as she begins stepping more firmly, and prim's fingers intertwined with her own instead of holding onto the eldest's waist. thirteen is underground. another time, this idea would have made her cower and have a panic attack, but what's another one? she can merely look up, and then down, and watch as the rooms are organized, as she listens about the seventy-five years district thirteen hid as cockroaches while all of panem suffered (if her time drugged out of her mind didn't define her hatred for thirteen, this does).
eventually, they make it back to the hospital. the walk had brought life to her — strengthened her legs after days without use for them, brought a pink tint to her cheeks, a constant beading of sweat to her forehead and a small shortness of breath to her chest — but she feels herself faltering as she approaches. everyone who had been hurt by her and was still alive was here. she wants to go to her own room, blame it on the fact that her serum drip is finally over, but she hears a squeaky, familiar voice call her name and she freezes. "katniss!" screams the seven year old hawthorne, wiggling away from one of her brother's hands to hug the victor. at times, katniss would pick her up — even if, at seven, posy already carried the tall genes from the hawthornes that made her too tall and lanky to be carried — but after days, her arms are too weak and she struggles even to crouch down.
she does bring a hand to the girl's dark curls, feeling her eyes swell with tears; she contains them as she sees posy is crying, however. "hey, little blossom." katniss greets her. "don't cry." it feels hollow when she wants to cry, too. "hey, rory." the hawthorne brother approaches easily; she realizes him and prim have gotten even closer throughout the past year, but she prefers not to point out (or think about) in what way. she looks around them, and sees familiar faces. a family from the seam smiles at her, and a single pair of siblings from town are quiet, but they look her way too. twelve recognizes twelve, but this is no matter of pride when she's the one who doomed them, and they probably know it. she looks away, and feels prim's eyes have joined everyone else's upon her; they haven't talked about it at all, lest katniss have another attack, but seeing the few people around from what had been her home is worse.
then she hears someone that is even more familiar, and the sorrow is too suffocated by shock and relief that she can not feel it. katniss pulls away from prim and lets go of posy, using the renewed strength from her legs to throw herself on gale's arms. "you're alive!" the tears she held back now fall freely. she had thought him doomed, between the capitol or the ashes of twelve, but he's alive. he's here. "how did you- were you in twelve?!" hadn't they last met in the capitol? the memories of that are too unpleasant for her to linger on, not right now, not when he's the last man she ever loved that still breathes.

my patient’s neighbour [six] // wanda maximoff
summary: after spending some more time with Wanda against your will, you begin to realise how she feels for you.
warning/s: none.
author's note: hope you like angst! because you got it 👀 also there’s only one more part left after this so be prepared!
part one | part two | part three | part four | part five | part seven | masterlist | wattpad
"You look like you're on a warpath."
I stopped speed walking around the place when Natasha appeared out of nowhere, stepping in front of me. She seemed entertained, before she realised I was probably actually on a warpath.
"Hey, what happened?" she asked, amusement replaced with concern in seconds.
"Wanda happened," was all I said, before walking around her and storming up to the Sokovian in question.
When she spotted me, she opened her mouth to say something, but I didn't give her chance to as I grabbed her wrist and began to drag her away.
"Sorry, if you'll excuse me," Wanda got out to the guests she was chatting with, before I yanked her away. She began to complain as I did, asking, "What are you doing? I was in the middle of a conversation!"
I ignored her and proceeded to drag her away, certain that steam would be coming from my ears if this was a cartoon. Finding a private place to talk, I let go of her hand and spun around with a glare.
"Your thoughts are very loud right now," she said playfully, clearly not reading the situation.
"Then you know that I'm imagining several different ways to murder you," I got out between gritted teeth.
She scrunched her nose. "They all end in you going to prison."
Something about that obnoxious smile she wore and the way her hazel eyes watched me with anticipation was making me angrier by the second.
"How can you do that?!" I asked with exasperation.
She quirked a brow. "And what is 'that' exactly?"
I locked my jaw. "You ruined my date! You kept getting into my head all day, you were rude to Elise, and you're just– you're oozing with jealousy when you're the one who broke up with me!"
She scrunched her nose for the second time, and whereas I would have once found that endearing, I know found it greatly frustrating.
"Oozing? Really? Who says that?"
I closed my hands into fists, trying not to get baited by her purposeful obliviousness. But she was already under my skin, and ever since she broke up with me, the anger had been bubbling away, ready to come out.
"You're such a bitch, Wanda!" I shouted at her without hesitation. "You don't care that you just ruined my chance at moving on! Six months has passed since you broke up with me – you don't get to be jealous! I had to learn to be without you because you gave up on us and that's on you! So, you don't get to be here and make me feel bad for having a chance at a date because you can't make up your mind about us. It's not fair!"
My shoulders relaxed as I got my thoughts out, the anger still present but not as heavy on my back. She was infuriating as I watched her. Barely fazed by my words, a small smile played on her lips. She did nothing to acknowledge my mini speech, instead waiting for me to say something else.
"Seriously?!" I squeaked, my voice rising with annoyance. "Nothing?!"
As if pulled from a daydream, she straightened up and seemed confused. "Huh?"
I groaned loudly, eyebrows raised with disbelief. "For God's sake, Wanda!" Running out of patience, I shook my head and glared harshly. "I want you to stay away from me. You don't get to be in my life like this. And just in case you don't understand what I'm saying, here's something you will. Otvali (fuck off)!"
Not bothering to wait for a response, I stomped past her and didn't look back. As I was walking away, a tear slipped from my eye and I whipped it away without question. She didn't get to do this to me, not again. It wasn't fair.
—
Despite practically yelling in Wanda's face to stay away from me, she didn't take the hint. Instead, I proceeded to see her two more times in places I least expected it. To be fair, I don't think she did it on purpose. But she could have easily walked the other way and pretended not to see me. Instead, she thought it would be best to piss me off further.
The first time was when I was at a park with a new patient I was caring for. He was wheelchair-bound, so I pushed him around as we spoke to pass the time. We eventually stopped at a newspaper stand since he wanted to buy a few magazines, and that's when I conveniently got bumped into by the Sokovian witch.
"Y/N, hey!" she exclaimed when I turned to see who was there. She had a wide smile on her face, eyes shining bright under the sun. Admittedly, it took my breath away for a second, as I didn't expect it in the slightest. But then I remembered who it was and tried to ignore the way my heart rate sped up.
"Hello," I mumbled, before looking back to the newspaper stand with hopes she'd go away.
"And who is this beautiful young woman, Y/N?" my patient, Dayton, asked as he noticed her beside me.
I pursed my lips, trying to figure out the best response without earning more questions from Dayton, but Wanda decided to answer instead.
"We were girlfriends," she told Dayton with a grin, eyes glancing to me.
"Key word being were," I added quickly, shooting her a look, before looking to Dayton. "It's not a big deal."
"It may not be to you, but it's good to see you, moya lyubov' (my love)," she said softly, grin fading into a genuine smile.
"Don't call me that," I snapped, hating the way her words had such an effect on me. Her stupid accent and her stupid smile and her stupid pretty eyes. Hated it all.
"Ooh, what does that mean?" Dayton asked, looking up between us.
"Nothing, Dayton," I told him calmly, before nodding to the stand. "Just buy your magazines whilst I talk to Wanda."
He shrugged and did as I said, leaving me a moment to stand back and look to Wanda disapprovingly.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, lowering my voice so I wouldn't make a scene. Nothing was accidental with her.
"Just enjoying a walk through the park," she answered with a shrug.
I rolled my eyes. "Well, enjoy your walk."
As I made an attempt to leave, she stepped in front of me suddenly.
"Wait, can we talk?" she asked, losing any sense of mischief.
"No," I deadpanned. "Now, can I leave?"
She frowned, eyes pleading. "Please?"
"I said no."
She sighed, glancing around with irritation. Her eyes settled on the flower stand beside the newspaper stand and I didn't have chance to question what she was thinking before her eyes began to glow red. Raising her hand conspicuously, red wisps of energy appeared and she levitated a single flower from one of the many bouquets, hovering it before me.
"For you," she said, and I ripped it out of the air, frantically looking around in case anyone saw.
"Very clever," I said sarcastically, before looking at the flower and shaking my head. "Stealing isn't cool, by the way."
I dropped the flower on the ground and walked away, my foot stepping on it as I did. She needed to get a damn hint.
—
The second time Wanda reappeared in my life was when Anna invited me to Sasha's home for a visit. I'd been once before, a few weeks after she'd moved in with her granddaughter's family, but not since then. This time, she'd invited me over again to catch up and I assumed it would just be me and her family; Oh, how wrong I was.
Sasha and her family were pretty wealthy, their house sitting on the outskirts of New York and on its own private land. She was a lawyer, hence the wealth, and her home was absolutely stunning with its high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and three floor structure. Even as I parked out front for the second time in my life, I was blown away.
As I got out of my car and locked it, I noticed another car parking out front – a taxi, dropping someone off. Curious, I waited to see who it was. My eyes narrowed when I noticed a familiar face exiting the taxi and paying the driver. When the taxi drove off, Wanda saw me and began to smile with amusement, joining me at the front door.
"The stalking is getting creepy you know," I told her when she stood by my side.
I knocked on the door using the giant knocker and waited patiently for someone to answer.
"I'd love to take the credit for this," Wanda answered, and I could see her smug smile in my peripheral, "but I was invited by Anna."
I swallowed hard, resisting the urge to roll my eyes, both at Wanda's presence and Anna's secrecy. "Of course she did..."
The door opened to reveal none other than Anna Pivec herself, balancing on her cane and grinning at the sight of Wanda and I.
"Devushki (girls), you made it!" she exclaimed with delight, before stepping to the side. "Please, come on in!"
We both entered her home and watched as she closed the door before giving us both a big hug without warning.
"Oh, okay," I mumbled, but wrapped an arm around her gently. "It's good to see you, too, Anna."
Anna laughed wholeheartedly before pulling away. "I'm sorry. I just missed you both is all. It's so good to have you here, together again. Just like old times."
I forced a small smile, knowing what she meant but also feeling a pang in my heart because it wasn't completely like old times, not really. Naturally, my eyes fell to Wanda who was already looking my way, a similar expression on her face. I wondered if she was thinking the same.
"C'mon, I'll bring you to the kitchen where everybody else is," Anna said, already leading the way. "They're excited to have you over again."
"You didn't mention Wanda would be here, too," I noted as she led us through the main hall.
"Oh, didn't I?" she replied, feigning confusion. "I must have forgotten."
"Hmm." I pursed my lips, ignoring the obnoxious smile that returned to Wanda's lips as we followed Anna.
She led us to the kitchen where Sasha and her husband were preparing some food for the supposed barbecue we'd be having. I'd met her husband the last time I visited, so it was easy to get reacquainted with them both as we met them again.
After a brief catch up, Wanda and I offered to help with the food, but Sasha insisted we take a break and hang out with the twins – her kids – whilst they cooked it up outside. So, I soon found myself heading to the living room with Wanda as Anna went to fetch the twins from their bedrooms upstairs.
I wasn't exactly keen on being left alone with Wanda, so I decided not to say anything and simply keep to myself as we waited for Anna's return. Killing time, I wandered around the living room and looked at the family photos hung on the wall. It was the same as last time, except now there were a few new additions, clearly from Anna, which made me smile without thinking.
They were of Wanda, Anna and I, back when I used to care for her and we'd hang out at her apartment. Some were in the apartment itself whilst others were from places we'd visited together on different occasions. I recognised a handful of them from when Wanda and I were just friends and a few more from when we were a couple. It was clear in the photos which were which, as Wanda was holding my waist and grinning from ear to ear, myself doing the same. For a split second, I almost forgot she'd broken my heart.
"Wow, we looked really cute together, didn't we?" her stupid Sokovian accent sounded by my ear, and I lost my smile when I felt Wanda's presence stood a little too close to me.
She was looking over my shoulder at the photos on the wall and I tried not to get frustrated, but she made it impossible.
"Yeah, we were," I agreed, noticing the surprise on her face at my words, but then I continued, "until you dumped me because you were too scared to stay in a relationship."
Her smile faded at my words and I left her standing there, instead going to the couch to wait there. I wasn't sure why Anna had kept those photographs of us, but I wished she hadn't.
After what felt like forever, Anna finally returned with her two great-grandkids in tow. Alex and Marina, both seven-years-old, grinned adorably at Wanda and I, betraying their missing teeth.
"Well, look who it is," Wanda said with a bright smile, bending over and putting her hands on her knees. "My favourite set of twins."
Despite how annoying she was, I couldn't help but smile at the way she treated kids. She was always so good with them generally, way better than I was.
"G.G. said we could play Mario Kart," Marina said behind a nervous smile, looking between us. "Can we?"
G.G. was what they called Anna – short for 'great-grandmother'. I found it cute that they accepted her into the family so easily, like no time had been missed.
"I think we can," I said with a warm smile. "But I can't promise we'll take it easy on you."
Alex fist-pumped with excitement before running to the TV to set up his Nintendo Switch. Marina, the calmer of the two, motioned for Wanda and I to take a seat on the couch with her. Anna joined us, taking her place on the recliner, and watched with amusement.
Wanda and I had never actually visited them together, so it was refreshing to see how excited they got around her. Clearly she'd made an impression last time.
"For you," Alex said politely, holding out a controller to me.
"Why thank you," I said, accepting it. "So polite."
He seemed embarrassed as he did the same with Wanda, who hadn't stopped smiling since they came in. After handing his sister a controller, he joined us on the couch, forcing everyone to move up a little and making Wanda press closer to me at the end of the seat. I gave her a knowing look to which she smiled innocently, making me roll my eyes.
"You not gonna have a go, Anna?" Wanda teased Anna as Alex began to set up the game.
"The moving cars makes my head spin," the older Sokovian woman admitted. "You guys enjoy though."
Soon enough, the first game commenced and I was surprised at how competitive I was being, adamant on at least beating Wanda if not the twins. They, of course, spent all their time playing this, so Marina won Wanda and I easily. Wanda came in fourth, I came in third and Alex came in second.
"You just got lucky," Wanda said with a shrug, glancing at me.
"If you say so," I played along, a ghost of a smile on my lips.
"I'm being Toad this time!" Marina exclaimed as Alex set up the next round.
"I'll be Princess Peach," Wanda decided nonchalantly.
"She won't help you win," I said without thinking.
"We'll see, milashka (cutie)," she responded with a playful smile.
I nudged her in the arm, signalling for her to not call me that, but she only smiled wider as she looked back to the screen.
We had a few more rounds, Wanda winning none of them and Marina winning all of them, when Alex began to complain.
"It's not fair, you have to be cheating!" he said to his sister.
"I'm just better," Marina stated casually, making me laugh.
Alex rolled his eyes before looking to Wanda. "Did you used to play this with Pietro? Did he cheat, too?"
I raised my eyebrows with surprise at the mention of Wanda's dead twin brother. I didn't think she'd tell the twins of him, but then I realised that it was only fitting to mention her twin brother to a set of twins that probably reminded her of herself.
Wanda smiled gently. "We didn't have these games as kids, Alex. But when Piet and I played other things, yes, he did cheat."
Alex sighed, glancing at his sister with distaste before looking to me. "Did you used to play this when you were younger, Y/N?"
"Kind of... I mean, I don't have any brothers or sisters, so I used to play at my cousin's house whenever I visited," I explained. "And it wasn't a Switch. We had something called a Super Nintendo."
"Woah, you're old," Alex muttered with disbelief.
"Alex!" Anna scolded, making me laugh.
"It's okay, he's technically right," I said with a shrug.
"Milaya (sweetie), if you're old, then I'm ancient," Anna said disapprovingly.
"Right, sorry," I said, trying to stifle my smile.
We played another round and as Wanda and I were closing in on the finish line, my joystick began to veer left despite me aiming it to the right. I looked down in time to see red wisps of energy pushing it the other way.
"Yes! I won you," Wanda sang with pride, looking to me as her eyes faded from red to its hazel colour.
"You cheated," I said, eyebrows raised. "I just saw you."
"I don't know what you're talking about," she played dumb.
"Wanda," I said, giving her a knowing look. "You sure it was Pietro who used to cheat when you were kids?"
She grinned. "Very sure."
I studied her closely, entertained smile tugging at my lips. "I'm just gonna pretend I let you beat me since you won't admit it."
She shrugged, nudging me in the side gently. "Suit yourself."
"You're supposed to let your wife win anyway," Alex said naively, and I almost choked on my own spit when he did.
"What?" I spluttered out, losing my smile.
Wanda was doing her absolute best not to laugh as her eyes glanced towards me, noticing my shocked expression.
"Your wife – Wanda?" Alex said like it was obvious. "Our dad says he lets our mum win stuff all the time. It's what you do when you're married."
"I– we–" I paused, clearing my throat and suddenly feeling very warm. "We're not married, Alex."
Alex furrowed his brows with confusion. "But G.G. said that you weren't together."
"But that doesn't mean we're married," I said slowly, hoping my face wasn't as red as it felt.
"Medovyy (honey), they're not together anymore, you're right," Anna started to correct him, though she looked like she was seconds away from laughing herself, "but I never said they were married."
Alex didn't seem to understand still. He pointed to Wanda's hands. "But she's wearing a ring."
Everyone looked down to Wanda's hands which were adorned by several rings on many of her fingers, though none were on her ring finger, so I didn't get what Alex was thinking.
"I always wear rings," Wanda told him with amusement.
"But–"
"That's her right hand, idiot," Marina said to her brother with a scoff.
"No, it's her left," he said knowingly, before raising his left hand in the air and pointing to her right hand opposite him.
Marina rolled her eyes, already fed up with her twin's antics. She stood beside him and motioned to his hands as she explained, "That's your left. It's her right. Like a reflection. It's not a wedding ring."
It took a few seconds for Alex to understand, but when he did, he began to get flustered.
"Oh," was all he said, before returning to his seat. "My bad."
Anna laughed at her great-grandson's embarrassment as I began to flush with a similar embarrassment in my seat. Meanwhile, Wanda was biting her lip to contain her own laughter, eyes teasing me as they glanced at me with amusement.
Today was definitely not going to plan.
—
After gaming with the kids for a little while longer, we were all eventually called into the garden to have lunch together. Sasha and her husband had barbecued a variety of chicken, meat and vegetables for us to eat which was delicious. It gave us the chance to hear everything Anna had been up to with her family and for her to catch up with what's going on in Wanda and I's lives.
Anna seemed a lot happier, the happiest I'd ever seen her, when she was with family. I was glad that she was fitting in and that it brought her closer to her late-husband and daughter. This was all she'd ever wanted and she'd finally gotten it. Despite tricking Wanda and I into coming, I was kind of glad to be there because even if I wouldn't admit it at the time, it was just like old times.
After having dessert and conversing for longer than we realised over some tea and coffee, Wanda and I decided it was best we leave.
"Remember to come by anytime," Anna said to us both by the front door. "You don't even have to call!"
I smiled, nodding. "Thank you, Anna. It was great to see you again. I had a lot of fun today."
"Me, too," Wanda agreed. "It's really good to see you so happy."
Anna sighed contently. "Spasibo (thank you). Both of you." Pausing with thought, her eyes flickered between us both. "I do hope that you resolve things soon. For both of your benefit."
Chewing on my lip, I chose not to say anything. Wanda seemed to feel the same, opting to stay quiet, making Anna breath out halfheartedly.
"Right, well... are you both okay getting home?" she asked, changing the subject.
After reassuring her that we were, we gave her a giant hug before bidding her a goodbye. Once the door closed, I awkwardly glanced at Wanda before heading to my car.
"Hey, is it stupid if I ask for a ride?" Wanda's voice said from behind me.
I looked over my shoulder and saw her following after me, half walking and half running to fall into step with me. I refrained from rolling my eyes as I continued walking to my car.
"Didn't you get a taxi?" was all I said.
"Yeah, but my place is on the way to yours," she answered like it was nothing, finally catching up to me and grinning by my side when we reached my car. "And you're free, so..."
I narrowed my eyes impatiently.
"I won't do or say anything to piss you off," she added, putting out her pinky. "Promise."
As frustrating as she was, I wasn't a bitch, and we'd actually kind of gotten along today. With a dramatic sigh, I stepped to the side and motioned for her to get in the car. She wiggled her pinky, but when realising I wouldn't interlink mine, she lowered it.
A genuine smile fell on her lips as she nodded. "Thank you."
I simply returned the nod before getting into the driver's seat as she did with the passenger's seat. I put Wanda's address in the sat nav before setting off, trying not to overthink the silence that filled the car. Obviously, that was impossible, so I gripped the steering wheel tighter and glanced at Wanda.
"You can put the radio on if you want," I said uncomfortably, shifting around in my seat.
She tensed her jaw, looking (oddly enough) as uncomfortable as I felt, which was strange since she was content annoying me earlier. With a nod, she turned the radio on and some random pop music played quietly in the background, easing my nerves but not making anything more tolerable. It took about ten minutes for me to adjust to the silence when I finally got comfortable, focusing on driving and getting to Wanda's flat quickly.
Without warning, Wanda began to speak in Russian, but it was way too fast and incomprehensible so I had no idea what she was saying.
"Wanda, slow down, what are you talking about?" I asked, trying to cut her off, but she continued to ramble right over me, making me roll my eyes. "Wanda, I don't understand you!"
When I looked to her between driving, she seemed extremely passionate and stern about whatever she was saying. I wished I understood because whatever it was seemed to be eating away at her. I tried to ask her to slow down, speak English, do something to help me out, but she was stuck in tunnel vision, speaking quickly and with sadness.
After what felt like forever but was probably only a minute, she stopped talking and took a deep breath. I furrowed my eyebrows judgementally, eyeing her with confusion.
"The hell was that?!" I asked with surprise.
She didn't reply, making me curse under my breath. At the next red traffic light, I looked to her properly, noticing the distracted stare she directed my way.
"Wanda, what was that?" I repeated, raising an eyebrow.
She pressed her lips together, hazel eyes swirling with a mixture of emotions that I couldn't make out. I thought she'd answer me, but she still stayed silent.
"Seriously, Wanda, what?"
The traffic light began to go orange and I sighed with annoyance, figuring she'd lost her marbles. But then she finally spoke, my attention half on her and half on the road.
"Ya skuchayu po tebe (I miss you)," she said softly, without mischief or annoyance or anger or anything. Just sincerity.
She looked away after that, eyes drifting to her shoes, probably thinking I didn't understand. But I did and I knew it shouldn't have affected me as much as it did, but I felt my heart ache in my chest as I put my foot on the gas to make the green light.
When I finally reached her apartment building, I waited for her to say something, but she looked as lost in her thoughts than I did whilst driving.
"Wanda," I called quietly, getting her attention.
She blinked, realising we were at her place. Clearing her throat, she barely looked my way as she mumbled, "Thanks for the ride."
As she opened the car door and got out, beginning to walk to her building, I rolled down the passenger's window and called her name. She stopped, looking over to me with a raised brow.
My mouth felt dry as I said, "I know what 'I miss you' is in Russian." Her eyes widened, embarrassed that she'd been caught, and I continued, "You don't get to miss me."
It was harsh, but it was the truth. And I didn't wait to hear her come up with a response as I rolled my window up and set off again. She couldn't act like that when it was her fault we broke up. It wasn't fair on either of us.

Today is June 12th, and everyone on the Karasuno Boys Volleyball team knows what that means…
“SUGAWARA-SANNNNN!!!” Hinata and Noya scream while running towards the setter. With that speed, anyone would think they're about to trample over the poor guy.
“Woah there, slow down you two.” Suga chuckles lightly. “You never stop, do you?”
“TOMORROW! IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY RIGHT?” Hinata jumps and practically flies over Sugawara’s head.
“Yeah! Your gettin’ pretty old now aren’t ya? Noya jokes, a large grin painted on his face.
“That’s right” Suga replies. “It’s the last I get to spend with you guys, so I guess it’s pretty special!”
“Y/N-SANNN!!!” Hinata yells, running towards you even faster than he did with Suga.
You were close by, and heard two familiar voices screaming your boyfriend’s name. So, naturally you wanted to see what the fuss was all about. Suga looks up to see you running towards them in the distance and immediately brightens up. “Hey y/n!” He calls out to you. “Whatcha been up to bab-”
“SHOYOUUUU! HAHAHA” Noya calls out and runs to catch up to the orange flash.
“Oi!” Suga calls running after the two of them “Don’t run her over!”
You abruptly stop at the sight of them all running towards you, a worried look on your face hoping they would take it as a sign to slow down.
Thankfully, they did.
The two bullet trains stopped just before hitting you and began springing up and down, as if they hadn’t just been running.
“y/n? Are you okay?” Suga pants, having caught up just moments later.
You manage to slip out a few sentences despite your heart still racing. “Yeah, i’m fine babe” you smile, “How have you bee-”
“yy/nnn!! You know what tomorrow is, right?” Hinata interrupts “It’s your boyfriend's birthday!” he jumps up even higher than before, seemingly having endless amounts of energy.
“Hinata, don’t interrupt y/n please…” Suga huffs.
“You’re gonna get him a cool gift right?! Or maybe even something else..?” Nishinoya jokes again.
A blush immediately comes over your face,”I have a few things planned…” you reply shyly, turning your head away embarrassed. Suga blushes slightly at your words before snapping himself back to reality. “Alright guys, that’s enough… Shouldn't you be using your energy for practice?”
“Oh yeah” says Hinata. “Suga-san, can you throw me some tosses?”
“Sure thing” Suga reaches out for your hand.
“You know I play better when you're watching.”

“Hinata, nice kill!” praises Suga while high-fiving the tiny giant.
“That was a good one Hinata! You really will fly high” you smile running towards the two of them.
Hinata beams at you, eyes shimmering like the sun “One more!”
“That was the last one Hinata, I gotta take y/n home now.” says Suga sounding rather worn out.
“But-”
“I wouldn’t mind if you continued, but Suga looks tired, Hinata. Wouldn't want him to be tired on his special day.” you press, winking at Hinata.
“Ohhhh! Gotcha. Well, see ya tmrw!” He replies, waving you two off.
You both wave back before grabbing your belongings, ready to set off home.
“Thanks for that, y/n.” Suga says gratefully, a small yawn escapes his mouth.
You can’t help but giggle at how adorable he is. “You know, you don’t always have to tough everything out you know. It’s okay to take a break sometimes! You put a lot of pressure on yourself when you don’t need to.” you stop walking and look up at him, his beautiful hazel eyes giving you their full attention. “Because you’re amazing, Koushi!”
The setter’s eyes widen and it’s hard to see, but a heavy blush covers his face. His heart pounds in his chests and before he has time to think about his actions, he puts a hand on your cheek, another on your waist, bends down, and kisses you passionately. Your hands reach up to hold him as his other hand drops to your waist. He pulls back for a minute and holds your chin up so your eyes meet. “I love you, y/n. More than you’ll ever know.”

“Make sure your eyes are closed babe!” your call out to Sugawara from the kitchen.
“I’m closin’ em” he calls back, seated eagerly on the living room sofa.
You smile at his words and begin to walk towards him, birthday cake in hand and vocal chords ready! This wasn’t just any birthday cake, it was Koushi’s favourite. About a week ago, he treated you to an expensive cafe that specializes in desserts, knowing full well how much of a sweet tooth you had. Ironically, it seemed like he ended up enjoying himself more than you were. It’s not that you were ungrateful or didn't like the food, no, it wasn’t anything like that.
He just happened to try this cake, your cake, and it was ‘superb’.
“Babe, You have to try this! This cake is delicious!” you squeal to your bf.
“Yeah? It’s really that good huh? Then I guess I gotta try.” You placed some on your fork and gestured him to open his mouth so you could feed him. His eyes widen at the taste, “Wow! This cake is superb y/n!” he beams at you, bringing a smile to your face.
You can tell he wants more, but he wouldn’t dare ask. So you offered for him. “You want some more?”
Suga shakes his head. “It’s for you y/n, I can’t just take your cake…”
“But you do want some more?” you tease. He nods shyly, making you chuckle. “Looks like someone has a new favourite cake.” you add.
So thanks to that new discovery, you knew the perfect cake to get him for his special day.
“Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Koushiii, Happy Birthday to youuuu!!!” you positioned yourself in front of him, “open your eyes!” Sugawara gasps, switching his gaze from the cake to you for a few seconds before finally being able to speak.
“y/n… You didn’t…” he says breathily, still in shock.
“I did…” you tease.
“I can’t believe it!” he looks up at you, face slightly switching. “You forgot the candles!”
What? (whadidhesayyyyy) you stood there frozen, the look on your face was indescribable.
Sugawara bursts out laughing at your reaction and stands up, bringing both of his hands to cup your face. “That was a joke y/n” he giggles “you should see your face right now.”
“You’re hilarious Koushi..” you sigh and look up at him, trying to fight off the smirk appearing on your face.
“Thank you for the cake, love. That was really sweet of you.” he smiles down at you, placing the cake down on the coffee table before scooping you up into his arms, giggles escaping your lips.
“Did you want some candles? We do have some in the cupboard.” you joke looking up at him.
“Hmm.. Now that you mention it, they would be a nice touch.” He turns away from you dramatically, “but who needs em’ - - -"
then looks back "- - - when I have you to light up my world.” he pulls you back in and nuzzles his head at the base of your neck.
“That was really cringy Kou..” you giggled. “But you light up mine too.”

Pov. Karasuno’s manager
~
~
~
“Daichi? Have you been getting enough sleep lately? Your eyes look heavy.” you rush over to the captain, who looks like he’s at death’s door.
He looks over at you and smiles, ”I appreciate the concern but there’s no need to worry. I'm just fine y/n, I promise.”
“Those eyebags are probably from dealing with Hinata and Kageyama” Suga says sarcastically while entering the gym. “Honestly, I don’t know how he does it.”
“Suga-san!” You jog over to greet the setter, water bottle in hand, jumping up and down. “Happy Birthday!!”
“Hey y/n! Wow, you remembered huh? That makes me feel pretty special.” He laughs, one hand nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
“You are special Suga!” you state before your mind can process the words that left your lips.
Then they hit you.
You see, being Karasuno’s manager meant you took care of all the guys! And honestly you loved it. The team felt like a family! Being able to witness Karasuno in their bubble was something you were forever grateful for.
Along with this, It was clear (to everyone except you that is), that you and Sugawara liked each other. You were a scholar student, not dense in the slightest. Yet somehow, his feelings and your own had evaded you leaving you completely oblivious.
At least up until recently…
Sugawara wasn’t so much shy with his feelings, he just wanted to make sure things were mutual, in fear of scaring you off and losing the friendship you had built up. If he was confident in that, he would have no problem making the first move.
Naturally, he told Daichi about his feelings for you. So this interaction you were currently having was rather amusing.
Although over the past few weeks, you've started to become more conscious of your feelings too… (took you long enough,, thinks Daichi. ft the entire team)
“Wait- that came out wrong- im sorry!” you splutter, choaking with embarrassment.
Sugawara laughs and hands you back the water bottle you gave him. “Did you really mean it though?” he inquires.
Of course you meant it. He is special. Does he not know this? You thought.
You look up at the setter to see his confused eyes searching your face for an answer. So he really doesn’t know?
“Of course I did, Koushi” you reply, scanning his face in an equal manner. Then you add “especially to me.” and watch the setter’s eyes pop out of his head. You could practically hear how loud his heart was beating.
There's a moment of silence. Suga decides to break it.
“y/n?”
“Yes, Koushi?”
“C-can I kiss you?”
Another moment of silence. Which is now your job to sever.
No words leave your lips, instead you nod slowly while being pulled into his embrace.
You feel his warm smile greet you as he says, “What an unexpected gift.”

First of all, "the universe willed it through one-one" is such an interesting interpretation, thanks for sharing that. We really don't know very much about how a conductor makes cars, and we know even less about how One-One makes (and comes up with ideas for) proper cars. I tend to discount the train itself as a thinking entity because there's a lot of juicy material in it being "just a machine", but machines can think too. And there's (something resembling, at least) decision-making happening that One-One has no role in because boarding and number changes happen without his knowledge or input.
Second, I'm glad you brought up Atticus, because I think sometimes about how Atticus might have been the worst denizen for One-One to befriend.
I don't think One-One realizes that he thinks of denizens as subhuman. Some elements of the denizen/passenger stuff in Book Two struck me as a fantasy allegory for certain kinds of gender essentialism. For example, evangelical Christian complementarianism. As I understand it, one of its central arguments boils down to "Men and women have different roles that complement each other but are equally important and sacred, so arguing that women should not disobey or even disagree with their fathers or husbands (and they should have husbands) is actually very respectful because it's appreciating their god-given duties." So yeah - when Lake confronted One-One, he didn't have a "haha you think you're people? idiot" attitude, he tried to tell them that it's super good to help passengers actually and they're good at it and they're supposed to be doing that. It's a similar idea. He thinks he's being respectful because he doesn't understand that "you exist purely to do/be X for the sake of other people" is disrespectful, and would be even if this weren't a situation where not all denizens are going to enjoy or be good at living that way.
So to bring it back to Atticus... the train is easier on him than on any other denizen we've met. He loves his home car. While very fond of Tulip and sorry to see her go, he didn't need Tulip for emotional support and easily coped with her departure. He was happy to help Tulip as a friend, but he didn't leave Corginia for her, he left to hunt the steward. And as a foot-tall dog with no thumbs, he really needed Tulip's help to complete the more anthropocentric puzzles on the train, even before all that cool stuff Tulip did to help him in the finale. So he personally benefited from going with Tulip and wasn't her sidekick.
In short, there's not really anything about the passenger/denizen system that was particularly hurtful to Atticus. And I think One-One is so dense and oblivious, he would never realize that that's because Atticus has his own life that he's happy with, not because denizens-as-sidekicks is a great system that has no problems. I think it's possible that if One-One had spent months hanging out with a denizen more like Lake or Morgan who had real grievances with the train and complicated relationships with passengers, he would have more empathy for denizens. Can some denizen come fall on their sword and suffer in One-One's presence until a revelation pierces his proverbial thick skull lol. (not Hazel though :c)
Third - oh man, the question of One-One's self-concept is so juicy and interesting to me. Right now, I don't think One thought of himself as a person who could bond with other people. He talks about himself having "algorithms" that were "designed"... I think he imagined himself as a component of the train with no personality or identity. And I think One-One knows he can have friends and is a little more aware of himself, but it still doesn't come naturally to him to notice when he's having emotions or why or how they're affecting his behavior. Like, if you watch the train documentaries (both the promotional shorts and the clips we saw briefly in The Tape Car), he seems like he's struggling with being the conductor and getting lonely and bored and missing Tulip and Atticus, but doesn't really seem aware of that himself.
A lot of my more involved One/One-One thoughts are less analysis and more me projecting my favorite tropes onto One/One-One and his relationships with Amelia and Tulip. I just really like the idea of One as an unusually tragic take on the "robot makes a friend and learns they're a person" narrative, and One/One-One as a contemptible but also pitiful figure.
#please for the love of god do not learn about gender or theology from me#infinity train#one one#one-one#king atticus#the train itself#i love denizens#i sometimes refer to lake as a denizen when i'm talking about denizens in general#but i mostly think of lake as neither a denizen nor a passenger#i don't think it's critically important since 'denizen' is a made up fantasy term lol

alrighty bella grade fake dating, there was only one bed, celebrity aus (ones where they're not in a band together), and 5+1 -hazel
GLADLY
fake dating: B+. conceptually i love it. i like to write it. when it's done well it fuckin slaps. my only problem is that getting to the point where two characters agree to fake date but are also somehow still mutually oblivious to the potential emotional stuff they're about to engage in is often very hard to do in a believable way. fortunately i enjoy suspending disbelief, but i'm just saying.
only one bed: hmmmmmmm this is tricky. this is a tricky one. i'm gonna say B. because you see. only one bed is a sexy concept, but what's even more sexy to me is when there are two/enough beds and the characters choose to share. especially in a situation where they have no reason to. but in general bedsharing is a tasty tasty trope
celebrity au: A, and i can't help coming at this from a writer's perspective as well bc i have to say, celebrity aus make it a lot easier on the writer bc it means i dont have to figure out their job (their job is whatever got them famous) and i don't have to worry about their financial situation. which is sexy. anyway i like a celebrity au, i think it would be funny if i didn't considering hello hello
5+1: A++++++ I FUCKIN LOOOOVE A 5+1 I DONT KNOW WHY!!! IT JUST!! it's SUCH a satisfying format to me i love a linking thread i love a recurring theme/moment/behavior i love the many different ways it can manifest there are literally endless possibilities with this format and all of them are so fucking delicious
give me a fanfiction trope and I’ll grade it
#why oh why do i describe good things with food terms#tasty. yummy. delicious. whats wrong with me#(gretchen voice) whats WROOOONG wiiiith me!!!! you keep me guessin.......#i love 5+1s so much it's dangerous bc i always want to write them#but they come with the implication of So Much Work as well#just bc you know that shits gonna be like. probably 6k minimum if you do it justice#its such a commitment#and i am a moron#ask#hazel#allsassnoclass

Kestra Fernera - HPMA Profile
(same universe as Lori)
Identity
Name: Kestra Alessa Fernera
Gender: Female (cis)
Age: Roughly 2000 years in total
Birthday (originally): August 23rd (leo)
Last Regeneration Date: June 18th
Species: Human, Phoenix Blood
Blood Status: Halfblood (originally)
Sexuality: Panromantic Demisexual
Alignment: Neutral Good
Ethnicity: Roman
Nationality: British
Residence: A modest townhome in a busy city
Personality Type: ENFJ - T (the protagonist)
Phoenix Blood Explanation
In her very first life, Kes was a ten year old girl walking the streets of Ancient Rome. She came across a strange, brightly colored bird that appeared to be made from fire itself. The bird had a deep gash in its stomach, and was dying (it was actually dying, not going to regenerate, as it has been stabbed). Kes thought this bird was some sort of godly creature, and tried everything she could to save it. On a last attempt, Kes forced all the magic she could muster into this bird's wound, nearly killing herself in the process. The bird was healed, and in turn, healed her. Kes was suddenly filled with the knowledge that the bird was a phoenix. It flew away for a short while and returned with a small, beautiful dagger that looked as though it was still molten. The knowledge of her immortality entered Kes' mind, as well as her immunity to fire. The dagger was the one thing that could kill her for real. As she took it, she burst up into flames, and when they died away, the phoenix was gone, leaving only a single feather behind. From that point on she had the mark of the phoenix on her chest, and could control fire as though it was part of her. This event occurred on her birthday, which just so happened to be the Vuncanalia. Many people took notice of this and declared her blessed by Vulcan himself, and brought her to live in his temple. She was protected and praised as the chosen one, and each regeneration after was treated similarly until Rome fell. The only two items she was able to save when her city fell were the dagger and the feather.
When Kes regenerates, her memories are lost and the mark disappears. On August 23rd of the year she is/will be ten years old for that regeneration, she enters a "memory fever" where her hands light up with fire, her eyes turned molten, and she goes back for a moment to her first life when she saved that phoenix as the marks burns back into her skin. She remembers key elements from some of her previous regenerations, but the only clear memory is the day she was blessed. The power that runs through her knocks her out for days, and in that time, the fire powers given to her redevelop. Her chosen goal is to learn the one answer that seems impossible: what truly is the purpose of life? Besides for this, she just wants to remember everything. The loss of her memory is the one thing that consistently haunts her through regenerations.
The Mage
Wand: Pine, phoenix, 13 3/4 inches, pliant. The feather is the one from the phoenix she saved in her first life, formed into a wand after the use of them became more wide spread. The wand itself is very light colored, smooth and strangely sharp at the end. It's the only wand she has ever owned, though she's not always sure how it gets back to her. After she wakes up from her memory fever this time around, she is able to unlock the chest her past self locked both it and the dagger in
Animagus: none yet, will eventually be a (you guessed it) phoenix
Misc. Magical Abilities: Strong fire magic. She does not need spells when dealing with flames, and fire will not hurt her
Boggart Form: A pile of ashes. Her worst fear is dying before she's ready
Riddikulus Form: Confetti
Amortentia (what they smell like): a campfire, herbs, and cinnamon
Amortentia (what they smell): currently parchment, old books, and metal. This will change as she gets older, as these are simply nostalgic smells
Patronus: Phoenix (duh)
Patronus Memory: One of the only memories from her first life she clearly remembers every regeneration: the day the phoenix blessed her. She could feel her own soul separate from her body, which felt absolutely euphoric - the most intense sort of pleasure she had ever felt
Mirror of Erised: Herself, looking tired and happy, holding the dagger in her hand. She's remembered everything, learned everything, and she's finally ready to pass on
Specialized/Favorite Spells:
- Aguamenti: not a favorite, but she had to perfect it because she's a hazard
- Expecto Patronum: she knows her patronus is that specific phoenix, long moved on from the earth. She misses her sometimes, and casts the spell just to see her and feel reassured
- Fiendfyre: it can't hurt her, so once she finds the Room of Requirement that's the first spell she's going to practice. Eventually, it will be as easy as snapping her fingers
- Reparo: for accidents
Appearance
(art by @kathrynalicemc , who originally created Kestra and then gave her to me)
Height: When done growing, 5'11"
Weight: When done growing, 146 lbs
Physique: Thin with visible muscles, long legs
Eye Color: After her memory fever, bright golden/orange like fire. Kinda scary to look at for most people. Originally hazel, and when she goes out she sometimes glamors them back so as not to draw attention
Hair Color: Black, thick and wavy
Skin Tone: Tan and absolutely covered in freckles
Body Modifications: the mark from the phoenix just below her left collarbone, multiple ear piercings
Scarring: Faded slashes across her back from her first life. They were given to her by her muggle father, who raged and whipped her when he discovered her mother's lies. After Kes became "chosen" he was burned to death as a sacrifice to Vulcan, and her mother was protected for the rest of her life at Kes' request. These scars will never go away, but they're only barely noticeable. They remind her who she was, and the magic seems to know how important they are to her
Inventory:
- her dagger, in its sheath and wrapped in silk
- her wand
- pomegranate lip balm
- loose change
- raw crystals to fidget with
- a snack of some sort
Fashion: When not in uniform, Kes likes to look good. She wears mostly autumnal colors and prefers fitted clothes to loose ones. As she gets older she starts to toe the line between school appropriate and not school appropriate as much as possible. She much prefers pants to skirts, and she loves high heels. She likes to have a subtle elegant tone to her makeup, in contrast to whatever the hell is going on with her hair, which is usually kept in either a low ponytail or a messy bun. Kes also wears flashy jewelry constantly, and likes to have her nails short, neat, and painted
Allegiances

- Fernera Family
- High Priestesses of Vulcan (the group is all gone now, of course, but Kes keeps up a few traditions as a tribute to her past self)

Relationships
"Mother": Sarina Penelope Fernera
- is actually the youngest of Kestra's great grandchildren. When Kes regenerates it's the duty of the youngest (adult) living member of her family to raise her again
- Sarina was only just an adult when Kes regenerated, but family tradition demanded she take over
- She's one of the few people to have watched Kes die and come back, as Kes normally likes to be alone
- It scared the crap out of her
- She got help from her older brothers raising Kes so that she could pursue a career in Healing
- A year before Kes would remember who she was, Sarina fell in love with a muggle named Derrick Credian
- She had some explaining to do when her "daughter's" hands caught on fire and she started screeching about a dying phoenix in the middle of breakfast
- He's a nice guy though, and he's open to learning more about the wizarding world
"Uncle": Harold Atticus Fernera
- Five years older than Sarina
- Historian
- Has been researching to see if there are any other known Phoenix Bloods, but there seem to be no record of them
- Took on most of the extra babysitting for Sarina
- Married with a young son
"Uncle": Sebastian Noah Fernera
- Eight years older than Sarina
- Cursebreaker
- A bit less of a decent dude, jealous of Kes' power, you know how it is
- Even if he did find a dying phoenix to bless him it probably wouldn't. He's not pure of heart enough
- Divorced, no kids
Love Interest: possibly Lori, but subject to change
Best Friend: TBD
Rival: TBD
Enemy: TBD
Dormmates: TBD
Pets: a fire salamander named Spark. He's not technically allowed but who's going to stop her? She's the most qualified person to handle a creature like that
Closest Canon Friends: TBD
Closest Noncanon Friend: Oleander Loris
- They really don't get along at first
- Lori is TERRIFIED of fire, so that's inconvenient
- Kes actually wants to be friend with this girl, but Lori isn't having it
- Lori attacks Kes outside once and gets three months detention
- She's just afraid
- They don't become friends until the summer after third year, when Lori gets trapped in a burning building that Kes just so happens to be passing by
- Kes hears screaming and runs directly into the building past the muggle firefighters (she's glamored, so they all try to stop her)
- She finds Lori, and she uses her fire powers to keep the flames away while they get out
- The glamor fades away, the muggles freak out and need to be Obliviated
- Now, instead of someone to be scared of, Lori sees Kestra as a safe place, the one person that instead of Lori protecting them, it's Kes protecting Lori
- The professors are very confused by this development
- It's this incident that makes Kes want to be a rescuer
Closest MC Friends: None yet, but they're welcome!
Storyline
Pre Hogwarts:
- Kes can't remember how many lives she's had, but she knows it's been a lot
- Her childhood this time around was fairly quiet. Her and her mother were very close (it almost felt as if she'd already known her)
- She would have strange dreams at night, and she knew things she shouldn't be able to know
- Her mother would sometimes stare at her chest, and Kes didn't understand why
- Then on August 23rd when she was ten years old, she saw her mother fully panic
- Kes looked down at her chest, saw the phoenix mark, and it triggered her memory fever
- After she collapsed, she didn't wake up for a week
- Now that she knew, Sarina gave Kes the previous regeneration's old diary, thinking that Kes would be the best person to explain to Kes what was happening fully
- Even with her new memories, it took Kes a while to wrap her head around the concept
- Now she's ready to figure out as much as she can in order to use this life to the fullest
1st Year: TBD
2nd Year: TBD
3rd Year: TBD
4th Year: TBD
5th Year: TBD
6th Year: TBD
7th Year: TBD
Post Hogwarts:
- Directly out of Hogwarts Kes offers her services to the Ministry as a Rescuer. She's sent in whenever there's an issue related to fire, including important muggle rescues
- In her spare time she plays piano for random groups and performances. She never sticks to one place because of her Rescuer job, but she loves to perform whenever she can
- She gets married and adopts some kids. She's birthed many kids in previous regenerations, but this time around she doesn't want to be unavailable for a rescue while pregnant
Old Age and Death: Unfortunately, Kes hasn't done all that she's strived for, so her 'death' is only a regeneration. Once she considers this regeneration over, she locks her important things in her chest, makes arrangements for her new self to be raised, and slits her own throat to burn away. Someday she'll be able to use her dagger, but not this time. She doesn't have to kill herself to regenerate, but she's been feeling sick this time around and would rather choose when to burn instead of having it happen at a bad time
Personality
- extroverted
- optimistic
- confident
- compassionate
- can also kick ass
- goal oriented
- trusting
- it seems as though she daydreams a lot, but she's actually trying to remember as much as she can from her past lives in order to make this one the best it can be
- has a hard time apologizing
- surprisingly she has a bad temper, but she controls it well
Misc Information
- Kes discovered her attraction to girls way before her attraction to boys
- Like, regenerations earlier
- As one of the high priestesses, no man was allowed to touch her, so she spent most of her time surrounded by other women that were kept away from men... you can see where this is going
- It wasn't until Rome fell and they all had to scatter that she first fell in love with a man
- There wasn't really a good word for it back then, but she knew she loved men, women, and everyone in between
- Her favorite color is a dark red - in fact, she wears so much red that people often mistake her for a Gryffindor
- She's been in each of the Hogwarts Houses many times
- She can't remember it, but she was sorted into Hufflepuff her first time around
- Kes found her salamander, Spark, when she got lost in Knockturn Alley
- She stumbled upon a poacher selling rare and dangerous creatures
- She did not buy Spark. She melted the bars of his cage and stole him, and then reported the poacher to the authorities, selfishly keeping Spark to herself
- He loves her so much, and she loves him
- Sometimes she conjures fire without even realizing it, which is part of why she keeps crystals in her bag to fidget with
- Fire is kind of a hazard in a library after all, and she can't risk being seen playing with fire by a muggle when she's out in their world
- She still sometimes has nightmares of when her first father whipped her and her mother

During the Great Depression, making a buck in Texas was no easy process.
Joe Ball, on the other extreme, seemed to have it all figured out.
One approach was via alcohol, and in tiny Elmendorf, Texas, near San Antonio, Ball had the bootleg market cornered.
He was also the owner of The Sociable Inn, a neighbourhood hotspot. Joe Ball was considered to get the prettiest waitresses for miles, as per reports at the time.
He had a pool out back featuring five alligators as an added bonus. Joe would often amuse his clients by giving the deadly reptiles a kitten or a dog.
Joe was born in 1896 to a rich family and did grow up adoring firearms and the outdoors. In 1917, when the United States began the First World War, he joined.
Joe Ball was in good condition by the time Prohibition ended and the booze started kept pouring again (legally). He had sex with almost all of his servers and was married three times as a result.
By 1937, meanwhile, Ball's complex romantic life was starting to crumble.
One of the difficulties at The Sociable was Joe's inability to keep great workers. The young women appeared to come and go in and out of sight.
Joe's wife had just discovered recently Joe's affair with 22-year-old barmaid Hazel "Schatzie" Brown. Hazel vanished afterwards when. As well as the wife.
But, one man was monitoring the events going in the dive bar: Texas Ranger Lee Miller.
Why didn't Hazel notify anyone that she had been going home? Why had her bank account been invincible? But what is that putrid smell coming from The Sociable?
Joe Ball was a fool. He was oblivious of Hazel's birth. And how about the smell? That was the meat of his beloved alligators, whom he put in barrels.
A lot was going on at The Sociable that cops are aware of.
Investigators from San Antonio attended the bar on September 24, 1938. They had more than enough information to interrogate Ball.
Could he please shut the bar for an instant? He grabbed him a beer, had a couple of swigs, and then clicked the NO SALE button on his till.
Joe then drew out a gun and shot himself in the head, dying moments later where he had stood.
Detectives had to put together the links of the man known as the Butcher of Elmendorf, Bluebeard of South Texas, and the Alligator Man without Joe Ball.
Joe Ball had allegedly killed his wife and barmaids and fed them to his alligators, according to cops.
The third Mrs. Joe Ball then appeared, alive and well, in San Diego. Yes, she was apprised of the murders and fled Texas before her name was put on the lists and those who had killed.
Clifford Wheeler, Joe's handyman, was her accomplice, she informed cops.
Wheeler led the Texas Rangers to the corpses of Hazel Brown, a waitress, and Minnie Gotthard, a Ball colleague.
There were no further remains discovered. But what about the rotten food fed to Joe's prized alligators? It wasn't a human creature.
Joe Ball's story became a legend in Texas, with parents frightening their children at bedtime with tales of his rampage for generations.
A former lover of Joe Ball, however, told the San Antonio Light a different story in 1957.
When he passed in 2012, Richard William Davis was a dad, husband, and grandfather.
He was a mass killer, according to the FBI, who roamed the United States for decades raping and murdering girls.
Davis was linked to the horrific 1974 homicide of five-year-old Siobhan McGuinness, who was abducted near her home in Missoula, Montana, by DNA after he died.
She was sexually abused and suffered head trauma. She even had stab wounds in her chest.
Davis is also linked to the armed robbery of an eight-year-old girl in Bath, New York in 1973.
Now, the FBI suspects there are likely more deaths connected to Davis, and that they're studying for any clues.

Whiskey [A Nikki Sixx Fanfiction] Part 1
Summary: Katherine is Tommy’s little sister. She has long, wavy brown hair. Dark olive skin, unlike her brother who is pale as a ghost.Katherine and Nikki are best friends, have been pretty much since Tommy introduces them in high school. They’re inseparable. Will they’re relationship ever be more?
Warnings: Language, slight angst
-Katherine-
I had just woken up from my restless sleep. I heard masculine voices outside my door. I assumed it was just my brother and his immature friends, as he always had them over at the most inconvenient times. Such as this, considering my major hangover from last night's..acts.
I decided to go upstairs and get some pain killers. When I got to the living room I saw two men, one being my older brother, Tommy. He has long brunette curly hair and the brightest blue eyes, just like mine. He's very pale compared to Nikki and even our mom who came to America all the way from India. (Our dad married her the first night they met and she couldn't even speak English) Tommy usually just wore whatever, usually animal print, meaning my stuff but it's whatever. We both wear the same size anyways. The other man was Nikki Sixx, my best friend. He plays bass, and has long black hair that's almost always teased at the top, but he straightens the sides. He has an olive complexion and the prettiest hazel green eyes. He also always wears sleeveless vests or leather jackets and leather pants. People tend to think we are dating because of how often we flirt with each other, but that's just us.
Nikki basically lives here at this point. I don't mind him being here all the time though, because he's basically my best friend rather than Tommy's. Tommy and Nikki tend to drink too much though, so I don't hang out with them together all that often. Nikki and I only ever really socialize when it's just us, alone. Like we're both too scared to interact in front of others like teenagers going through they're first relationship. He also can be pretty idiotic at times. Like the time he was trying to prove how punk he was by setting himself on fire. I will admit, it was pretty funny at the time, until he caught his hair on fire and started running around and screaming like a little girl. I ended up having to spray him with the hose.
"Hey, Tommy,Nikki" I mumbled irritably as I walked to the kitchen to get the pain killers.
"What's up Kat" Nikki mumbled back as he watched my every move. I purposely swayed my hips extra just to tease. I heard him groan quietly while repositioning on the couch.
"Nikki, you good man?" Tommy asked as he twirled his drum sticks.
"Yeah, yeah fine, just getting comfortable."
At this point I came back into the room and sat down beside Nikki, putting my legs in his lap, being sure to place my legs right on his crotch, causing another groan from him. I just smirked and started talking like nothing happened.
"Tommy,what are we doing today?"
"Probably just gonna rehearse more then drink till we're shit faced" he said with the big goofy grin he always has stuck on his face. I swear his face is just stuck that way.
"I like that plan" I heard Nikki mumble from beside me while taking a swig of his beer.
"You want a drink?" Nikki asked, offering me his beer.
"I would say yes, but I'm pretty sure Tommy would kick my ass" I say as I glance over to my oblivious brother who was once again, twirling his drum sticks.
"It's not like he'd notice. He's in his own little drummer world right now" Nikki says, once again trying to pass me his beer.
"Okay, maybe just a sip" I say as I glance once more over to Tommy to make sure he's not looking. He's not paying attention so I take the bottle quickly and take a quick gulp from the bottle, trying to be as fast as possible, which meant me spilling beer all over Nikki and I.
"Damn it Kat, now I'm all sticky"Nikki wined loudly, trying his best to sound like a child.
"Well we could always just jump in the pool?" I suggested, nodding my head in the direction of the back yard.
"I'm down, what about you Tommy?" Nikki asked, already getting up to go outside.
"I think I'm just gonna practice more, I don't feel like swimming today." He said, rubbing his arm.
"Your loss" Nikki said as he picked me up over his shoulder and began to run to the pool.
"NIKKI NO!" I screamed as he threw me into the cold water. It was very hot outside today though so I got used to it pretty quickly.
Nikki proceeded to take off his clothes as slow as he could, leaving him in only his boxers.
"How's the water feel?" Niki asked, giving me a sly grin.
"Feels great. You're missing out Nikki boy" I yelled with a cheeky grin spreading across my already burning face.
"Not for long" he says while making a cannon ball off the deck, splashing me in the process.
"Nikki! I'm trying to tan!" I yelled as he proceeded to also flip my raft. When I resurfaced from the water we both just started laughing like maniacs. This is gonna be a good summer.
