#yeah it is. that's the POINT.#they're all completely unhinged and deeply problematic; and it's interesting to watch!!#saw someone talking about the nature of historical romance and feminism a little bit ago#and how it can be read through a feminist lens. because it's true that the women in these stories have very little agency.#but that's also just..... true of how things were at that time. historical romance doesn't shy away from the fact that women have#been oppressed. it just says 'here's how women can love men despite the pressures of patriarchy'#that stuck with me..........#squawk tag
