Oh yeah, I think I remember that. Can't remember which video, and it could've actually been a completely different YouTuber for all I know, but I definitely remember someone saying that. I feel like it was probably Jack, though, 'cause there was a point where it got really bad on his videos; Happy Wheels in particular.

#I'm sure the main part of that problem was people just not understanding what captions are for #like they're an accessibility feature; not a place where you can force people to read your comments #and yeah this was an issue but the solution was still not to fully remove the feature #just moderate it better #YouTube is a multi-billion dollar company it's not like they can't afford to hire a captions moderation team #or even just a captions team in general if they're *that* worried about what the community will do #but of course they'd rather just scrap the whole feature than improve upon it #'cause improving things costs money and Gods forbid they make a couple grand less for a few years #it's not like this would erase their profit #they'd just make slightly less profit for a little while until things balanced out
