Not about a microwave, but our oven killed itself. We installed a new one. Were mildly thrilled about the new "air fry" setting. We aren't allowed to use it without setting up wi-fi.

WTF?

We now refuse to use air fry, as we don't know what it would be reporting to whom.

Plus, we never change the wi-fi password off of the 25 character alphanumeric and no. One. In this house has that level of patience.

But no appliance should be capable and willing to hold settings hostage for the chance to report on you.
