The bad news: Chapter 5 is a fucking mess.

The good news: whilst trying to sort 5 out, I completely laid the framework for Chapter 6, going so far as to write a bunch of dialogue, most plot steps for the action therein, and actually have a good inkling of where this beast should definitively resolve and end.

Fuck.
