I wanted her to be better showcased so bad

aro culture is being lowkey disappointed in the owl house; i know most people in the community is super hyped that lilith is confirmed aro, but the thing is...it's not confirmed in the show!

look. we've got luz and amity, they're dating, luz is confirmed to be bi in the show (s3e1). we've got multiple nonbinary characters who go by they/them pronouns. there's raine and eda, who used to be dating. all of this is explicit in the show. one character is explicitly shown to have two dads.

but not lilith. the only reason that i know she's aro is that it's been confirmed outside of the show itself

i know i'm just being picky and that i should be happy with the fact that we have an aro character at all, but it's still disappointing...that it seems like everyone else gets it so obvious and we're relegated to this 'canon but not mentioned ever'

when this happens with gay characters so many people get mad, but the same thing happens to lilith and i feel like i haven't seen anyone else mention this

tbh i just don't exactly know why this is acceptable...

#i literally was just thinking about this earlier today #listen I love Lilith I really really do but..#as represtentation she’s really lacking honestly #i was hoping so much for like. at least a one off comment IN the show itself #even just an emphasis on how maybe her lack of romantic attraction made her feel isolated and more wanting to gain approval and love-#-by succeeding in getting into the emperor’s coven and so explaining why she cursed Eda a bit more #especially with how she struggles for her parents’ attention in canon #but nothing!!#and it sorta stings that the one canon aro /aroace character we get is the character who everyone hates for a period of time after season 1 #and she got nothing really showcasing the growth she had that apparently just happened off screen #it’s just? a bit upsetting?? amity we get to see her whole healing arc and not so with Lilith #not everyone can fully forgive Lilith and I can’t blame them cause she was sidelined! and I’m upset abt that!#I’m sure it’s partly cause the show was cut short but #she vanished off s2 before it was even being written with the knowledge the show was cut so I’m not too sure about that #in the show with all this queer rep being shown causally they really couldn’t give her just ONE one off line or something #i forget she’s canon aro so often just cause nobody really remembers or cares abt it except for aro /aroace people #it’s not shown to be interwoven in her idenity like other characters’ identities #as a character she was robbed. as aro rep she’s meh at best #they gave us the side ex ‘villian’ character who didn’t get the proper showcase of her redemption with no showing of it in the story #like ok I’ll take it I guess but #this is a bit ranty but ah well #lilith clawthorne #the owl house
