many old westerns start with a custom title song with lyrics that very earnestly explain the entire plot of the movie that you haven't seen yet, and i think we should bring that back. no spoilers? no. all the spoilers. delivered right as you go into the movie through a pretty little country song with extremely on the nose lyrics that goes on for several minutes at least.
#a post brought to you by my delight at revisiting the opening credits of 3:10 to yuma 1957#they didn't even so much as reference that song anywhere in the 2007 version iirc and it's such a waste. very sad#🎵 there is a looonely train / called the 3:10 to yu-maaah#the pounding of the wheels / is more like a mournful si-highhh#there's a legend and there's a rumor / when you take the 3:10 to yu-maaah#you can see the ghosts of outlaws go riding by (riding byyy!) / in the sky (in the skyyy!) 🎵#which. honestly. i know what my post says but this frankie laine song doesn't even actually spoil the plot at all! it's just good!#it's just a banger that sets the mood and says the movie title a funny number of times. how could anyone not enjoy that#*#3:10 to yuma#3:10 to yuma 1957
