Wife also thought pokemon concierge was cgi dressed up to mimic stop motion until she saw the actual footage of them animating the puppets. Either I'm not crazy or we're both the same kind of crazy.
#we both have so much experience studying animation and creating tangible sculpture and cgi knowledge and stuff#and I'm sort of stuck wondering what the stop motion needed to do to look like stop motion#maybe its because of how polished everything seems?#maybe it has something to do with compositing or how they lit the sets?#they could have 3d printed the official game models so they're brand accurate and maybe that's it?#this is bothering me#what about the actual real stop motion made it feel like it was done on a computer to us
