#they all deserve it but GIVE ME THE T'POL SHOW she's easily one of the most fascinating and complex characters of the entire franchise

I was raised on the original series. I remember watching the Animated Series as well. When TNG came out both hated it and loved it. I wanted MY Trek back, but I was only getting movies. Lol
Knowing how television goes, I always give a show a season's worth of my time. The first year producers are still fiddling with ideas, writers are working out what stories they can tell, actors are still getting to know their characters and each other. It is the same with work relationships everywhere, we just notice it more in entertainment. I mean, I don't know anyone who walks in to their first day on the job at 100% productivity while easily chatting up their coworkers. Chemistry anywhere takes time.
I fell in love with DS9 within seconds of watching it. The hype of it being a station and so very different is nonsense. How many episodes of other shows took place just on the ship and explored the characters? Actually, some of the best ones, I expect. I mean, the Inner Light technically was all in Picard's head he could have been on a station for that. Best of Both worlds? The borg could have hit a station, right? Never mind all the others Sarek visited... I'm rambling. Point is, DS9 gets to dive into characters and the whole team was so focused that the quality you get is beyond any star trek out there. They have the most recurring guest stars AND those guest stars are basically series regulars by the end. They aren't afraid to tell stories about PEOPLE and that is what Star Trek is all about. Discovery of civilization and diversity. Ignore the station, even though it is the main character (and it is a character in its own way) and live the stories. You'll get hooked.
Voyager I watched because it was Star Trek. I was spoiled by DS9 and it really took me a while to get back into the random story lines again. I enjoyed it and the work people put in to it, but I didn't find it memorable.
Enterprise, being a little like DS9 had me hooked quickly as well. I loved what they did with it once it settled and hated that it ended so soon, though I also would have hated having T'Pol be half Romulan. That would have taken away from the character, I think. Oh, she is emotional and attracted to Trip because of THIS. I hate that idea. No human is a carbon copy of the other emotionally. So what if some Vulcans have an incling to hang out with humans. Are we going to say Sarek was part Romulan to explain his human wives? Puh-lease.
Discovery has been wonderful. I followed both captains as actors before they were cast and was thrilled when they were announced. I had been saying Anson should play Pike for YEARS before Discovery was a gleam in anyone's eye. Thrilled that he is getting his own show! He deserves it and as a Trekie, he will do the role right. (As we've seen.)
Haven't seen Lower Decks yet and I don't much care for the new movies, though they have a decent set of soundtracks. Let's put it this way, I own copies of EVERYTHING Trek related except Abrams universe movies and lower decks.
Worried about them trying to do the convention in December. They needed to just drop it. Let the thing go. I doubt it will happen. The cruise in 2022 was a brilliant idea, but i can only hope it continues forward.
Totally random ask, but when finding another Rumbelle Trekkie, it must be asked: Which series? :)
It’s always nice to meet a fellow Trekkie :D I can honestly say that pretty much almost every one of them, but I think I love the classic one the most with all it’s ridiculousness 😅 I’ve never gotten around DS9 - somehow the idea of the action around the space station didn’t have me thrilled, but I’ll probably get to it if only to give it a try. Also, I haven’t watched all of Voyager - finished somewhere around season 3, but plan to get back to it soon as it’s on Netflix. I’ve started with Enterprise as it was on TV when I was a kid, then was the classic series and then TNG which I hated at first, but fallen in love pretty quickly - and that’s exactly why I’m not ruling DS9 out xD Let me say, this though: I would die for Bones any given day - somehow noother character in star trek came close to him for me :D part of the reason I went to Med School was to legitimately say “I’m a Doctor not a...” once I get my diploma xD How about you? :)
