y’know. the bnha fandom might be awful towards inko but it’s got nothing on the marvel fandom when it comes to being shitty to the mother figures of main characters in order to further dad-son dynamics when they do not quite exist

#mine #yes i am talking about aunt may #like u can have ur irondad and ur dadmight but there is no reason #to destroy the good parental relationships these kids do have #there's already enough shitty parents out there don't take away the ones that actually do it right #It Is Possible To Have Multiple Good Parental Figures #like. i can't personally relate but part of the appeal of fiction is the idea that #we can retreat to a world where that sort of thing is more common #these dad-son dynamics honestly run contrary to canon and it doesn't rly appeal to me personally but #idk #i'm not gonna rag on u for having fun with a piece of media and going against canon in fandom cuz #what the fuck is fandom for if not to go against canon #projecting good parental dynamics onto fiction can be like. woohoo good feelings #and hell if i'm gonna stop someone from being happy #but. does it have to be at the expense of characters like aunt may and inko #wow that was more thoughts than expected #also as u can see i have shifted away from criticizing things for being ooc and more. criticizing fandom behaviors that can. be damaging #like ik i wrote 3k words of meta on how villain deku is ooc as shit but #at this point have fun with it i get why you might like it #but the moment u start being ableist af with it is when i'm gonna start telling u to shut the fuck up #WOW that was a LOT of thoughts
