i am so angry at the stupid coding of the ifttt rss feed to tumblr, bc something in the way ao3 codes author names keeps it from grabbing the html to make an author name linkable

i keep seeing these lovely feedly to tumblr automations but evidently you have to pay for a pro account to enable that and i am not shelling out a monthly fee purely to enable an author link you can find from clicking the link for the ao3 work but it's so FRUSTRATING

used to, you could pick what you wanted in your ifttt recipe with some html but now the "ingredients" are locked. it all got fucked up when tumblr went to "new post types" and iftt "upgraded" (derogatory)

rrrrrah i just wanted an automated dmbj ao3 feed but i got caught up in trying to tweak it to have what a normal "hand-crafted" tumblr link post would have and it makes me fume

#/users/blank/pseuds/blank #like it still works and everything it just ... will NOT capture the author url #about to make a support ticket at ao3 to ask them why author is #<a rel=''author'' href=>blank</a> instead of an archiveofourown.org url #but they are very busy and i'm sure it's for a specific reason #it just is f*cking stupid that tumblr can't work with that from the rss feed and i can't edit the ifttt ingredient to fix it #i am not css proficient in any way and i just want the automation for dummies workaround to actually WORK #all i wanted was automated link posts for people who don't want to deal with making their own link posts #for like self-promo or whatever - i LOVE when people make their own promo posts but some people aren't comfortable doing that #anyway it's there. ao3feed-daomubiji using the only overarching tag that seems to collate everything #there's too many ships and crossovers between media and formats to try using only smaller tags #probably someone who already had feedly pro will make a pingxie only feed or something #anyway if you write in dmbj and you don't do your own promo posts you can reblog your fic from the feed #but ofc bc it's automated it only does new fics not like chapter updates so ...#there's SO much more non-english fic being posted than i thought which is cool to see #if there is a better tag for ALL dmbj-related ao3 entries lmk #also i made a liu sang feed so if anybody wants to volunteer a nice gif or screenshot for a header ...
