The way I fully became American in my mind reading that last post, thinking about a hypothetical killer of someone I love getting capital punishment like I don't live in Canada which abolished the death penalty over 20 years ago.

#honestly i think I'd try and kill them myself if i the opportunity presented itself #or hire a hitman if I had money #Idgaf if I'd go to jail #i have long since struggled with being an eye for an eye type person to me it's not about sadism #i don't enjoy seeing people suffer at all i get no pleasure from it #to me it's the concept of people doing harm and causing suffering and not paying an equal price for it #human suffering is serious business and in my mind if you cause undue suffering to someone you should be ready to experience #That suffering in equal measure #I embody this down to the prettiest things like when people are rude to me then they get that energy back #it's not bc I like being rude! I don't! but I al #but the thought of those people walking away thinking they got one on me bc I just reacted politely makes me want to scream #maybe it's ego idk #there's so much nuance here bc so many people imprisoned literally hurt nobody or they hurt a corporation boo fucking hoo #and if you hurt people on purpose you should suffer for it i do believe that maybe that's the unhealed part of me #who is sick of dealing with abusers who walk away unscathed #maybe justice is a very personal thing to each person and enacting it on a societal scale #is simply going to reflect whatever keeps the majority of us scared and in line
