my ex boyfriend and I had a level of deep conversations that would probably be unhealthy in any other context but worked for us as two teenagers repressing a lot of shit. but he had this very interesting thing with my mother they both absolutely loved eachother he loved her as a person. and he constantly claimed she was a bad mother and took wrong actions with me. and one time he tried to lecture me like "oh you will have to accept you have an idealised version of your mother in your head that makes it illegal to criticise anything about her in your little world without you getting angry" and of course I got angry basically got up claiming "you are literally WORSE with YOUR mother" but he just looked me in the eye like "I know. but she is dead so I can do it as much as I want" and I had no counter for that because at the time I was still getting to know him and the self awareness I glimpsed there shocked me

I am seriously considering dropping my therapist because of bad things she said about my mom #I HATE this man #he's friends with my girlfriend #every time we went back to My Mother he was like 'and by your admission you have an idealisation of her comparable to someone who lost his #mom as a small kid. what do you think that says?' what are you my therapist #arguing with this man was both my favourite and most hated thing in the world. most of the time we agree we just argue for the experience #I would say 'why?' but I blame me it on meeting him when I was 17 that's just 17 year old behaviour #to this day I don't have a counter 'she died when I was a kid so I can do it' is a surprisingly good point. pisses me off tho #only man with self awareness I've met. frequently told stories of hooking up with older men like he was unaware of statutory rape definitio #.txt
