#there's my multi-paragraph rant as requested

for some context: BJ and Peg are a married couple with an infant daughter, Erin

from very early on in BJ's run, its established that him and Peg write each other constantly. there are multiple instances where other characters receive 1 - 2 letters from home, while BJ receives 3 - 4 from Peg. she'll also write him on behalf of Erin, and even one time on behalf of their dog, Waggles. BJ also writes her a lot of letters, often seen writing them to her, and there's even an episode centred around him writing her a letter- "Dear Peg" (there are multiple episodes like this for most of the main cast throughout the series, Hawkeye has 3 of them for writing to his dad, but that's a tangent for another time cause ill go insane over Hawkeye and his dad)

as the series progresses, however, and BJ's character development starts to really kick off, these letters oftentimes go from a source of comfort to a source of anger. BJ's character development is fascinating to me, because he develops a lot of traits for the worse. he becomes progressively angrier and angrier, and it leads to him becoming meaner and more prone to lashing out easier. episodes centred around BJ lashing out in the later seasons are almost always entirely revolved around letters from Peg, usually set off by her bringing up some sort of mundane problem she's having at home

these things are mostly mundane. one time she had to clean out the gutters. another time, the kitchen flooded. one time a neighbour made a pass at her, and she thought it was funny. these are things BJ would've helped her with, or done for her, or laughed about with her, had he been home. but with him out in Korea and unable to help her, these instead just feed into that anger he's been steadily falling into, and he ends up spiralling

there's one instance where a letter really sends him off the deep end. Period of Adjustment, after Radar goes home and is met at the airport by Peg and Erin, Peg sends a letter to let everyone know Radar arrived safely. in the letter, she describes how Erin saw Radar and called him "daddy". this sends BJ into a spiral unlike anything we've seen of him before, and nothing like it ever happens again. he gets blackout drunk, hits the lowest point of despair and anger, and when Hawkeye tries to talk him down he lashes out at him, destroys the still in their tent, then decks Hawkeye so hard he sends him flying before he storms off to get more alcohol. when they find him in Colonel Potter's office after he's broken into his alcohol cabinet and raided it, he ends up breaking down in sobs while Hawkeye comforts him. his daughter called somebody else "daddy", he's missed her lifetime, her first milestones, its gut wrenching

do I blame Peg for telling him? no, absolutely not. she was probably thinking it was a sweet, silly moment he would laugh about. and thats where I just feel so sad for her, because she has absolutely no idea what the war is doing to BJ. the fact that she tells him this story tells me this is something he would've laughed about once upon a time. but that version of BJ doesnt exist anymore, and she has no idea. its tragic

she tells him about the mundane little things she has to fix, the gutters, the kitchen, because she fills pages and multiple letters with every little detail to send him. she's keeping him as involved with home as she possibly can. she's documenting Erin's lifetime for him, she's documenting her day to day life, she's giving him a slice of home because she knows he misses home and she wants to give as much of it to him as she can. and she has no idea that this has steadily gone from a source of comfort to a source of agony. BJ says himself that before the war, she could hardly get him involved with housework because it wasn't exciting (he's a man in the 1950s and it REALLY shows sometimes but im not going on that rant rn), but he also says now he cant wait to be home and do housework. now all he wants to do is fix the gutters. fix the kitchen. wash the dishes. anything so long as he can be home with his family

BJ is a layered character with fascinating flaws we get to see develop over the course of the series. again, it fascinates me, because he gets worse. he gets angrier, meaner, harder and harder to talk to. sometimes you feel for him, sometimes you dont. with Peg, we unfortunately dont have this level of development, because she's back home and we only see her in pictures, videos, and in BJ's dream in Dreams. what we know of her comes from BJ, and from her letters. ive seen people say Peg tells him these things to rile him up somehow, and I think thats such a bad reading of what's actually going on. I think Peg tells him all of these things thinking he's going to laugh, and I think it's fucking tragic cause she has no idea that it does the opposite. im sure, on some level, she knows he'll be different when he comes back, but she has no idea just how much he's changed. how angry he's gotten, how easily he spirals, how easily he lashes out. these are all traits he develops during the show, all things she would have no way of knowing about. and its tragic!

again, this is handled better in some episodes than it is in others, but at the end of the day its still a very sad and very real thing to witness. BJ goes to war and it chews him up and spits him back out damaged and bleeding, and all the while Peg is at home writing to a version of her husband who no longer exists

there is something very sad about Peg just wanting to tell BJ about her day to day life, the mundane things in the house that need to be fixed and the funny things that happen to her, all things he would've enjoyed hearing about or would've handled with her if he'd been there, and having absolutely no idea what effect these letters actually have on him

...someone wrote me literal paragraphs on ao3 asking for first, a multichapter fic request, which who the heck asks someone they dont know, in the comments of a one shot series "hey can you write multiple chapters in this one specific thing?" I...no. I cannot.

Then three other requests for oneshots, completely bypassing the fact that they were already taken, which okay, maybe they just didnt read or understand the first chapter where I wrote out how this particular collection of one shots work. That's fine. And they're being decently polite about it, even though they did guilt trip a bit when I said no about writing something asking me to do it just for their birthday. You know what? That's fine. They moved on. Crisis averted.

"With all this information I hope I was able to help you out with writing it, and also this story might be a little bit longer but I know you can write it." -said by them, after a couple paragraphs explaining a one shot request, which I appreciate because they gave me a lot to work off of. But like, does anyone realize how long it takes to write even a oneshot sometimes? On top of other requests? And they're like, I'll be patient and it's fine if you cant get it out on my birthday but it would be great if you could...which is on the 31st of this month. I...what?

I'm not really sure what I'm ranting about ir even if I'm ranting at all, I just cannot wrap my head around this person going "yeah you can do it! Just write this big long thing in a week you'll be fine. You can do it it's my birthday." I dont know you? Happy early birthday but like, my dude, I'm doing this for fun calm thy snake snitties.

For anyone who sees this I love getting requests and I'm not really complaining about the person, just the way they worded things and the way I'm registering their words is coming off weird in my head.

Really though who requests a freaking multi chapter fic from someone in the comments of a one shot series??

Because I am really getting lost in the math behind “most popular” fic. And it’s most definitely more than just “reaching a different audience” when the feedback for one and the same fic differs between over 1k comments on one site vs not even reaching 100 comments on another site.

Where You Post: AO3 and FFN, but occasionally also on tumblr - when it’s prompts or drabbles

Most Popular One-Shot: Depends on where you ask. And what you define as popular. Personally, the only value I see are in comments - kudos are literally just the press of one button, they mean nothing, and hits aren’t an indicator of much either considering it counts as a hit even when you opt out after a paragraph.

I’ve only had my AO3 for five years now, meaning that the fics on FFN still had four more years to simmer on there and gather attention, I suppose. Meaning, a fic posted for the first time obviously gets more attention than a four years later mass repost on another site.

On AO3, the oneshit with most comment threads would be How to Court the Prettiest Omega Ever in Five Years or Less, my first PJO ABOverse fic, featuring Nicercy. Which, you know, is only 37 comments on there. Seriously I genuinely blame the existence of the kudo function for the overall lackluster comment-response on AO3 because “press one button vs actually writing words”... but that’s a different conversation to be had. (I mean, seriously, in comparison, this fic has 51 comments on FFN... and it is by far not the one with most comments I have over there).

The clear winner if you look at FFN is Something Went Wrong, my first Minotaur/Percy smut fest with a whooping 116 comments. And yes. Positive. Genuinely did not expect that when after weeks of debating, I decided to post this story. *chuckles* (Again, for comparison, this fic got a total of 8 comments on AO3... eight... the difference there is staggering... Which, I’d like to tag on that, on top of the kudo-nonsense, the fact that AO3 displays total amount of comments to the readers and not comment threads is also misleading and I don’t think it helps, because I think you’re more inclined if you see it’s only 8 comment-threads in total on a fic you like vs it showing you 16 comments as the total comment-count.)

Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: THIS IS TOO HARD TO ANSWER. I’d have to consult my chart, but that hasn’t been updated in ages. Because overall amount of comments means little if you don’t also take into account the amount of chapters - 50 comments on a oneshot are a lot, 50 comments on a 5 chapter fic, not so much, and 50 comments on a 50 chapter is frustrating to receive.

Okay, let me go full nerd on this one. Y’all know I love charts. There was a time where I was interested enough in finding this out that I had a chart going of all my multiple chapter fics. With a collumn on how many chapters the story had at that point in time, how many total comments on AO3, how many total comments on FFN and what, by combining those two numbers and dividing them through the chapter-count, was the average amount of comments per chapter.

However, that chart had last been updated on December 31st 2016. There’s been a lot of influx, lot of new stories and other stories gaining/losing popularity, so when I now say Meet the di Angelos with a 2016 average of 57,25 comments/chapter, that is completely exclusing ten fics I wrote since then.

Damn now I really wanna update the charts...

Also if you can’t tell by now how much actual feedback and comments mean to me, I genuinely don’t know how else to convey it... xD”

If you go by total comment-count - which, again, is misleading because you gotta keep the chapter-count in mind - it’d be Chasing Fireflies on FFN with 1749 comments (on 102 chapters. And, again, for comparison, 88 comment-threads on AO3. 88 vs 1749 is insane) and Percy and the Ghost King of Summers High on AO3 with 749 comments (on 50 chapters. On FFN that’s actually on 990 comments. Far smaller difference here compared to other stories).

Though I dunno, if you measure popular by fanart received, Summers High comes in with five, while my Chasingverse is in with 6... and multiple fanfictions written for it.

Favorite Story You Wrote: Favorite to write, or favorite to reread? There’s a difference there. I’m insanely proud of Chasing Fireflies and the plot and world I created there, the character development. I... don’t really reread it it’s over 500k long I don’t have that time.

Currently, I am really loving The Primal Instinct, it is sooo much fun to write, I get to put basically all my favorite headcanons in there, I’ll get to write Aline and Helen more and Jace’s interactions with others, it features both my favorite OT3s at once. (And it is faaar from my most popular one. Just, feel like mentioning this because my numbers-obsession may read as only writing for comments, which I don’t, I mainly write for myself. The comments are just... very, very nice treats to receive. Also, I love numbers and charts and were curious to see if there is a kind of trend there in what does receive most attention sooo...)

Story You Were Nervous to Post: Uuuh every new thing. Every time I step outta my comfort zone. Trying out a new pairing for the first time. Venturing into a new fandom for the first time. Experimenting with a new kink and wondering if this would be too much. Literally every single time, still.

How Do You Choose Your Titles: On a whim. I suck at titles. Mostly I try to force alliterations because I am a sucker for alliterations, but otherwise I do try to go with “as it says on the tin”, or I try a pun/being clever. Aside from my Triton/Percy fics. Every single fic I’ve written for them is named after a song from Disney’s The Little Mermaid franchise and I have yet to run out of songtitles to use for fics and hey, by then they’ll probably have included a new song in the live-action remake so there’s that! :D

Do You Outline: Depends. Oneshots? No. I just write those. Multiple-chapter fics? ...Depends. xD

If I have a clear vision for where it’s going to go, I do tend to divide into chapters and make myself small notes on what goes into said chapters. Mostly, it’s just a rambled “and x happens and then y” at the end though and then I see how I can make it fit into chapters.

Complete: 795 stories on AO3! Damn, I’ve been busy.

In-Progress: As of right now, 4. Because this week features my Ace Awareness 7-parter, though technically we’re right now down to 3 multi-chapter fics because the next one is only due to be released and join the rotation!

A-and that is as far as I have planned my schedule ahead. Those three are the only fics on my personal schedule that I haven’t started working on yet. I don’t like to plan ahead too much, because then you just completely lose interest in the story by the time you get around to actually writing it.

Do You Accept Prompts: Prompts, not so much. Requests, yeah. For one, prompts always seem so demanding, while requests are more polite - and also more structured. Prompts are always like “here have one quick trope thrown at your head” and like... I do have a well-enough planned-out schedule with more than enough fics of my own set, I don’t need to try and turn one random prompt into an actual story. But if someone has a specific request, a pairing and an actual plot, that they really wanna see, I do always hear them out, I may not always like the pitch and thus not accept them all, but on the overall I do accept requests.

More inclined to accept birthday requests than random requests, because random requests would be put into the rotation of my schedule and, well come on that shouldn’t be a surprise, they tend to be pushed off then in favor of fic ideas I came up with myself because there’s nearly always more enthusiasm about writing an idea that you came up with yourself than the idea of someone else. Whereas birthday requests have a set date that doesn’t disturb my schedule and I am a big softie who has a weakness for getting gifts myself so I do like to do something nice for someone so they get something special for their birthday.

Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Most excited to write? Well, that’d be the Descendant/PJO crossover atm, because that is something very new and shiny and I do love shiny, new things to experiment on. But also The Prince of Pluto, my next multiple-chapter fic that I have already started writing.

Hi just submitted a request and also I was just wondering if you have any tips for new writers on starting a blog and such?

Hello!! I got your request and I am excited to write it! It's very specific and if that means your 20th birthday is coming up then HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Now for the tips... (Aka things I wish I knew before starting this blog!)

Long post ahead so read if you want to know how I set up my stuff and some advice for beginning a writing blog <3

Story Setup and Ideas:

When starting a writing blog, begin writing for one fandom that you are truly passionate about. For me, it was Band of Brothers at the time which is why my blog is heavy with it. Now, I am a multi-fandom blog and knew I would be when I began and if you would like to be multi one day as well don't be afraid of starting small. It's best to start small and with one fandom so you don't feel overwhelmed.

Now that you have your one fandom, find your favorite character or characters and write!! Heres how I write a story:

Figure out the idea, this can come from a moment with a friend, something I saw, or a song I heard. Once this idea is in your head write it down!! I have papers full of ideas and when I get in the mood I will refer back to them.

Figure out the pairing. This should come with the first part but sometimes I don't know exactly WHO I want it to about so play around with the scenes in your head. Who is the reader kissing? Who fits with this song??  Who would fit the feel of this scene? Those are some of the questions I ask myself if I don't know a pairing.

Set up the post. This is something I wish I did in the first part of my blog as it took a long time to fix every post so they look the same. Heres how I have them set up and feel free to use or take from this setup for yourself <3. With the Text Post option:

Title

Pairing (Bolded and with the header size)

Synopsis: It was a rainy day in the park but he kept her warm inside.

Trigger Warnings: Blood (This isn’t needed if you have no warnings but you can have it anyway and just put none)

Song: Song Title - Artist (Link: ---------) (Again, not needed unless you have a song that you wish for people to listen to)

A/n: (Finally the authors note, again, it's not needed but I like to talk a lot lol)

Gif/Banner/Etc (Heres where I add a gif of the character I’m writing for or something else that kicks off the story and drags people in. If it's not your gif, either credit the owner if you can find them or simply say its not your gif. I just now began doing this as I have a lot of gifs that I obviously didn’t create and I want to credit them)

Story (Here I like to put a keep reading after a paragraph that is sure to bring a reader in. Your goal is to make them click that ‘keep reading’ option)

Tags: (If you have people that want to be tagged, add them here) 

Hashtags: #bucky x reader #bucky imagine #bucky Barnes imagine #bucky Barnes imagines (Basically for your hashtags at the end, make as many as you can but do not, I repeat DO NOT tag a character that is not important. For instance, if you are writing a story for bucky x reader and the reader has no important ties to steve do not include him. If there was a love triangle in which a reader will read both, then it is alright. Don't clickbait, that's all we ask ;) Adding to that, go ahead and just tag the character itself as well as the fandom!!)

That's how I set up my stories but I would like to let all the baby blogs know that Tumblr has this weird thing called an algorithm, and it sucks. You will not see your post show up on any of those tags for at least 48 hours. Once you post multiple things to that tag or they have ruled that you are not a bot then your stuff will show up. This was a stressor so I hope this knowledge calms you down :)

If you have a hard time with scenarios, ask for ideas!!!

Make rules if you are accepting ideas and don’t be afraid to turn down requests you don’t like/feel comfortable with. It will not alert the user that you deleted their ask so do not feel bad!

Stick to your rules and make sure your blog is a healthy and safe environment.

Once you are ready to move on to more fandoms, go ahead and try it out. If it becomes too much cut it back down. Also, don't be afraid to move away from the fandom you started in. Sadly, I am not as ‘intrigued’ with BOB like I once was. That doesn't mean you won't occasionally write for your beginning fandom but tastes change. 

Do what makes YOU happy.

MENTAL HEALTH SECTION:

Because mental health is real and I want all of my baby blogs to be happy, I’m going to let you know some tips and tricks to stay calm.

Remember, this is a blog and you are able to step away for as long as you need if things get stressful.

Remember that the faithful and caring followers will stick around and support you no matter what. You aren’t alone and you don’t owe anyone anything.

I have like 5 requests in my inbox and I know that those who requested know I will get to it but if I don't, I don't. They will not attack me. 

Any follower who attacks you should be reported and blocked immediately. Never let someone make you feel trapped.

When you feel burned out (we have all been there and I still am) do not push yourself. If you are only able to do one story a month then that's okay. Even one story a year is alright, just don't feel like you have to deliver. Your personal life and wellbeing come first. 

If you feel like one of your stories is shit, know that you are putting yourself down and do not delete it. I have one story that has 0 likes and never has that ever happened to me, but I refuse to take it down because I like it. 

Writing should be your escape, not your jail cell. (Something I had to tell myself a lot last year and I wish someone told me)

If you feel stressed and want your followers to know that you’re doing alright just need some time then post a lovely message to your Tumblr and call it good. Most likely, you’ll get messages and comments hoping that you feel better, those are the best followers.

Personal Safety Section:

So my moms a correctional nurse (Aka a nurse at a jail) and she is very protective of me being on the internet. That being said here are some tips I have for you to be safe (Again feel free to ignore some or agree to all, these are just my beliefs and I do not shame anyone who doesn't follow them!):

DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR REAL NAME UNLESS YOU KNOW YOU CAN TRUST SOMEONE. The name I have on my blog is VERY similar to my real name but for safety reasons, I don't go by my real name. Only like 2 followers know my real name and even then it took a while before I said it. 

DO NOT POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF: God I sound like a boomer, but really you shouldn’t just up and post a picture of yourself unless you really want to. I have thought about posting a pic but thought “Yeah no...”

DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR ADDRESS/CITY/STATE: I have only ever said on my blog that I am in the midwest of the US, but that's it. Never ever give anyone your address/city or your state. 

DO NOT GIVE OUT OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF: This can include your school, age (if below 18 because of predators), phone number (unless a friend that you trust), etc. 

BE CAREFUL. When someone messages you, don't be afraid to chat but if things feel fishy stop responding and block the person.

This is my first blog post, titled Sixteen. Ironic. I have a blackhead mask on my nose and chin. Today is the first of January, 2018. Less than 24 hours ago was new year’s eve, which I had spent asleep in regards to a couple episodes of KUWTK. The time right now is 3 pm and I’ve just reminded myself to take the meat out of the freezer before my mother comes home. The sun is asleep and it seems that the clouds can’t hold the rain any longer. It’s humid and the skin above my brows is drenched in droplets of sweat, unready for another acne attack. It will rain, and when it does, I will turn my jazz tunes on.

The non-sense on your screen are of a sixteen year old girl who prefers to remain unnamed. She starts a blog to excuse herself from doing her winter-break homework. Tragic. She has exactly eight days to analyze one-hundred-and-five questions of subjects she mostly hates, and yet, here she is – her face mask too dry and her limbs plastered with mosquito bites. Almost unattractive and not her best appearance, but naturalistic and at a boiling state of peace procrastinating procrastination around herself.

The rain has poured. She turns on her jazz music like she even likes jazz. These are one of the things she does to keep her out of her comfort zone, and to make herself seem and feel more aesthetic and dreamy.

Two nights later, she wishes she had finished this excerpt from her never-ending afternoon thoughts. She wishes she had spent more time doing the things she likes and things she’s good at. It has been a trick she uses to delay her performance in completing homework – if you can’t bring yourself to finish your homework, then at least do something that’ll benefit you. You see, this confused teenage high-schooler hopes that her doodles, sketches, paintings, photography, short videos and poetry might bring her somewhere someday and that all the procrastination she does now will contribute to her bright future as a creative director or so. But, boy, is she wrong. Even after spending half of her life snapping shots and editing pictures for the gram, her notifications will remain dry as always. Don’t get her wrong, she appreciates the occasional I love your work dm’s and the OMG QUEEN comments from her friends, but she still feels her creative self can go further in the gram business than just occasional compliments and believes she has great visionary potential to help her start her creative-directing career. Nonetheless, regardless of the fact that she cant even pass 200 likes on Instagram, in her heart are still hopes of well recognition and endless requests of endorsements from well-known brands to supply all her with all her basic needs until she turns 25, at least. Sometimes she almost feels underrated for her multi-talented presence and the art she showcases on her feed. Some part of her is always ready to let go off her efforts and give up, because she knows there is obviously more to life than being a public figure on Instagram and #ad posts to keep her wardrobe exclusive and free, and that a creative career doesn’t start from Instagram.

This particular sixteen-years-old dumpling has bigger dreams than just being an Instagram public figure, obviously. She dreams to be a successful and independent daughter by the age of 23, applying her creative skills in a job she loves, freshly graduated from a reputable university, living in a small modern apartment in a big city while visiting her parents often. Her job preference is not a nine-to-five job in a cubicle doing analytics, it is a job where she can create, illustrate, communicate, and design, a job which takes her all over the world with a different destination every week (only because she’s never had a different destination every week, realistically she would be exhausted and spend more time catching up sleep and getting high on jetlags). In short, she desires the things Margaret Zhang seems to be doing on her updated Instagram feed and her ShineByThree blog, like creative consulting high-end brands, creating short-film ads for Chanel and Louis Vuitton, freelance writing for Elle, etc.

Other than sketching, photography and all that artsy creative stuff, this procrastinating blogger-to-be likes languages too. Her multicultural background of being raised in two countries, three cities and six different schools for the past 12 years guided her through an unceasing journey exploring all the different culture and picking up different foreign vocabulary every time entering a friend’s house. A constant voyage through culture has given her numerous friends from different corners of Earth, yet very little connection. That is her problem. An anonymous figure is great at making friends as she is outgoing, carefree and lit, but she is horrible at keeping connections and messaging her friends every evening to make sure they’re in touch which is why even after six school replacements, she only receives “omg girl lets skype i have some TEA” messages from exactly three people – along with another three responsive contacts on Snapchat. She feels she has enough friends to keep her updated on juicy dramas going on in her last home, but not enough connections and conversations to expand her friends circle and update her chances of doing things other creative sixteen-years-olds do, like creative collaborations and experimental projects, or just as simple as going to the movies.

At this age, you could classify this teenage frame we’ve been talking about to be quite…antisocial. She stays home on weekends and doesn’t get invited to parties, but she’s still happy. It’s what she prefers anyway. After having moved to a new juvenile delinquency of a society one-and-a-half year ago, her disappointment at the lack of manners and etiquette of the community in her surroundings have helped matured her perspectives and advanced the prudential quality of her response to life. The people in her current school think she is an awkward outsider, which in this case, she is – because she has absolutely no idea on how to end this blog post which resulted on her going on and on when she should’ve stopped on the third paragraph making this waaaaaay more of a rant than a first blog post. It feels awkward, like she had just met someone and she’s muddling on how to greet them, a hug or a handshake? So, uhhhh, thank you for reading. Good morning.

Fandoms You Write For: Currently just RDR2. I used to write for anime fandoms (this will date me, haha): started with Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Dragon Ball Z. 

Where You Post: All of my RDR2 fics are on AO3; tumblr has most of my stuff, but there are a few that were just linked on tumblr and I never posted the full text. I started to bring some stuff over, that’ll just... take some time, I guess.

Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story:  For both hits and bookmarks, the most popular looks like One and Only, the 4 chapter, High Honor Arthur x Reader fic that @dva-xo requested.

Favorite Story You Wrote: I fucking loved writing the whole Desperate Desire series, the deputy AU; equally loved writing both sides, the low and high honor versions. That was a blast, and it’s an AU I think about coming back to every once in a while.

A Story You Were Nervous to Post: I was super nervous about posting Compulsion, because that was my first gender neutral, true non-con fic, and even then, I couldn’t write it nearly as dark as other people would have written it. And funnily enough, it’s one of my most popular stories on AO3.

How Do You Choose Your Titles: I used to really craft my titles, try to be witty and use alliteration if I could (like most of the Desperate Desire series). Because I’ve written so many fics at this point, I don’t angst over it too much anymore; even if it’s cheesy or dorky, if it fits the story, and I haven’t used a similar sounding title yet, then I go with it.

Do You Outline: Not in the traditional sense. My ‘outline’ is usually just a couple paragraphs of me explaining the story to future me to write it better later. It’s as if I’m trying to explain to myself the idea of the story, and I’ll fill in the rest while I write. Sometimes my story goes in a different direction while I’m doing the main writing, and that’s okay. I’ll post one of my ‘outlines’ one day, just so you can see the difference (and how psychotic I am when I talk to myself through my own writing).

Complete: Oof. Yeah. 43 stories. That’s just each story I post, not counting the multiple chapters, so that’d be even more. Good FUCKING LORD. What have I been doing since November? Writing. Everyday after work. I write. On the weekends. I WRITE. With nothing but the pure compulsion that the stories in my brain must exit my head via my hands on a keyboard, and hope that when I re-read it, I still get that same emotion that I felt as I typed.

In-Progress: I very rarely post something incomplete; if I post a fic, it is, for the most part, a self-contained tale, with a beginning, middle, and end. Even if it’s part of a bigger series, the story I post will be one arc of that, and I try not to do cliffhangers. If I have a multi-chapter fic, I try not to post it until I have all the chapters written, because dammit, I might change my mind along the way, and I hate continuity errors like the damn plague. (Hence, my slow burn Wind and Water fic with my OC Grace Chang is still, regrettably, only at chapter 1, and only a few paragraphs in because I keep changing my mind.)

Coming Soon: One request is in the editing phase, one request is still in the set-up phase, and there are a few prompts in my inbox that are vague, so until my brain comes up with an idea, I’ll leave them in there. But I am interested in those prompts, since I haven’t replied with a flat out ‘no’. As for my own series, Corrections (Prisoner AU) has another story coming up that’ll be more plot and less porn because I wanted to explore Arthur & Prison Guard!Reader’s relationship a bit more this time around. Neighborly Affection (neighbor AU) has another part coming, with both high and low honor Arthur, of course. That one will be fun, it takes place during October, heh heh heh. And eventually, one day, I’ll write that wedding story for A Fortnight of Falling, the high honor Arthur arc of Desperate Desires (deputy AU).

Do You Accept Prompts: So I have a discretionary policy with accepting prompts: if I’m not into the idea, I’m not going to write it. End of story. Every request I accept, every prompt I respond to, I do so because I actually want to, not because I’m succumbing to social pressure, because I used to succumb, and I was miserable. Writing should be fun for the writer, and if it’s not, then it’s no longer a hobby, it’s just pain, and I refuse to let something I love become something I hate. [/end rant] 

Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Jeez, I don’t know. Whatever the next idea my thirst-addled brain comes up with, I guess.

So no one asked, but for me, my writing usually goes through these phases: Outline, Set-up (building the world, building the situation, building the relationship), Smut scene, Conclusion, Editing. And to be honest, I don’t always do those phases in that order. Often Set-up and Conclusion happen at the same time. Which seems weird, I know. But then after that, it’s just crafting the scene.

omg thank you for actually requesting something for my 1k special (you’re the only one…). and i stan a lot of groups (like over 40) but i’ll just list my top ones and ones that i follow often:

NCT - i love the concept of nct with it having multiple groups and rotations and songs, like nct u to nct dream and my bias is everyone renjun. i’ve explained why i love him multiple times but he’s just so cute and small but full of talent !! 

EXO - exo was my first ever kpop group and they actually got me into kpop so i’ve always loved them. exo was my ult group for like two years before i switched to nct lol but i still consider exo to be my 2nd ult group (?). my bias is yixing and i love that he is so multi-talented in that he can sing, rap, and dance !! he loves exo so much and loves exols even more and i love him for that

As for the mild NSFW themes, the scenes of intimate touching is fine. The touching of the more intimate areas, no no. Heated moments (like kissing) are OK too. The explicit portions can be hinted that it will happen or that was the result of the matter. (ex. Muses seeing a bare back of other muse, dialogue hinting to what happened) I prefer subtlety with these kinds of things lol However, if things ever led to that point, as stated before, Cleo has to be comfortable and trusts your muse for that to happen. (Sorry about that but this is the best I can explain about this. I hope I didn’t fluster anyone with details :’3)

With Cleo being an older lady, the level of maturity regarding her character and relationships is pushed up to a place I find appropriate for her as well as myself.

Why big websites don't handle copyright like art sites

Three journals in three days... that's a new record for me! Apparently I have to rant about yet another thing, happening in the always restless and never too complex world we have today.

There's been some drama circulating around the fandom recently, regarding a few Youtubers who make music slideshows with vore drawings taken from art galleries. The whole thing sparked up after an artist contacted such a channel to request a takedown, the user didn't agree to removing the video, and a whole riot erupted over the subject of art theft. I already expressed my view on most of these journals... which in short is that the video creator did wrong to not take down the video when requested, even if I also feel that artists going after such videos may qualify as copyright trolling, although both legally and morally they of course have every right to do so.

Now although there were both points I agree with and points I don't agree with, what bothered me in some people's reactions was something else: I'm noticing that a lot of folks are acting as if websites like Youtube and Facebook are supposed to be these heavenly places full of people that agree with each other, where a bunch of virtual police officers are ready to bring justice and solve any beef a user has with another user, and where censorship should be as harsh as national television. This is referring to a few comments which are collectively saying "how dare Youtube not immediately act against such cruel copyright infringement"... which is at least a legitimate point compared to comments like "won't you please think of the children seeing this on the free and open internet"! So allow me to blow my fucking brains off, regrow a new head, and vomit out my thoughts:

I will begin by stressing out the essential: Youtube is not Furaffinity! A website the size of Facebook cannot be moderated like a website the size of Eka's Portal! If someone steals someone else's art on here, a moderator will be dispatched. This moderator will assess the situation, say "oh yeah, I know this guy", and ban or warn the offending user. Youtube is a place used by millions... from ordinary people to media companies and celebrities. There is no one on Youtube who has the time and resources to investigate every single issue in the world. Heck they can't even find any competent coders, who can stop the website from glitching and breaking all the time... and it's Google we're speaking of here! They tried fixing their lack of moderators with an initiative called Youtube Heroes, whose purpose was allowing users to moderate the platform themselves... needles to say everyone was at Google's neck (myself included) as the program was basically going to empower internet trolls and SJW's with the right to carry out personal vendettas. So until an artificial intelligence program capable of human intelligence is researched, don't expect that to change anytime soon.

Now obviously, anyone can report an offending video. Bad news however: The system is mostly intended for the entertainment industry and popular online celebrities, who have verified websites and a mass of people that can vouch for them! You need to fill out a form containing proof that you're the author, which is also not very safe for your privacy granted they ask your real data for it. Agent Smith knows who you are, and agent Smith knows what you've been drawing. Some artists have done this still, and there are reports of it even working a couple of times, although I must say it's surprising. The person checking the complaint needs to somehow verify the data, including looking at... your... art gallery... hmmmmm.

You see, we're talking about furry vore artwork here. This basically means that when you file a copyright complaint with Youtube, you basically tell them the following: "There's this video that stole some of my art, you have to look through it and find out where it is... also here's a link to my gallery, you'll have to go through that as well and see that it matches". The moderator proceeds to watch an entire video showing all sorts of wonderful critters gobbling up each other... after which they need to enter the website furaffinity.net and open up your gallery, only to look at more of them lovely arts until they find at least one that matches. Obviously they don't even have proof that your FA gallery is truly you, though by this point they've probably taken the window rather than the elevator. Conclusions and disclaimers: Before you grab your pitchtorch and fork, I am not supporting art theft! As I said a million times, if an artist asks you to remove their works from something you posted, do so out of respect for that artist. Beyond that however, and beyond the sole issue of wronging another artist by disrespecting their requests... please, let us stop making pointless drama out of things that don't require it. Also understand that as much as it sucks for some, copyright cannot be enforced everywhere on the internet: Attempting to do so usually takes more resources than possible, and punishing people over any case of copyright infringement would lead to total tirany... unless kids posting an image on Facebook should have the cops show up at their door, in which case we'd need more prisons than residential buildings.
