going back and watching the chunk of 4sd i missed and yeah, brennan's approach to forcing the players into the prime role makes sense! i was really gunning for a betrayer god player and i think specifically something fun could have been done with "betrayer god who doesn't want to destroy aeor wholesale because it's actually their unethical experimentation vibe" (or, alternately, when i first thought taliesin might be playing the chained oblivion as a weird messedup sort-of god, already half cannibalized, a maximum nihilism approach where one member of the party is actually trying to sabotage their efforts so they all die). but his reasoning is very sturdy. and with only three episodes, letting the relationship between the prime deities shine was completely the correct choice. even though i think they could have designed a malicious pc to meet it, his standard of You Can Play A Betrayer God If You Can Make Them Interesting worked out, great management.

Right before your eyes you witnessed the place you called home devolve into destruction. The flora was wilting and the ground was stained with gore. Even the smaller animals littered the zones with their insides for all to see.

Your fur was stained with blood and vomit. Your mind desperately tried to block the memories of your friend's deaths. All caused by someone you thought was a hero.

A virus had plagued the speedy blue blur. Slowly but surely he became a monster, an animal that fed off bloodshed. He was no longer your friend.

He was a demon that had chosen you as his next victim.

"Here, kitty, kitty."

The demon beckons, drawing closer. You could run all you wanted, it didn't matter. You'd be too slow.

Just like the victims before you.

"It's just us now, you're in my world, MY game. I could chase you forever!"

Your ears were flat against your head. You knew this resistance was worthless, but you had to try. You wanted to live.

Yet instead you were going to suffer.

"Boo!"

You scream and stop in your tracks, "Sonic" teleporting in front of you. You stand in front of the demon, his sharp teeth and claws stained in blood. He killed them...

He killed them all.

"Poor scaredy cat..." He taunts, stepping closer. "Nowhere left to run from the big, bad, HEDGEHOG."

You back away, looking like a scared kitten. "Sonic" laughs before quickly slashing at you, cutting your arms. You cry and hold the bleeding wound.

You were going to die, weren't you?

"Stop, please, it hurts- Just do this quickly...!"

"You don't know true pain. I'll show you what it really means to crave something!"

Another lunge, the wounds are deep.

"You'll beg for mercy! You'll crave companionship to save you from the pain of those wounds and your crippling loneliness! But, guess what...?"

You're grabbed by the back of the neck, roughly dragged towards the beast.

"You only have me. You'll ONLY have me for the rest of your days!"

Another demonic laugh pierces your ears. You're dropped to the ground before you feel him place a hand on your head. You don't dare move, scared for your life.

"There's nothing left for you but me. Everyone else is gone."

He rubs your head in a false sense of affection. You don't lean into it, you don't pull away. You just accept what he's doing-

"Don't worry your little head, they could never play my game with you and me anyway."

"Your game?"

The demon never stops grinning, kneeling down so you were eye level.

"They weren't very fun toys. I didn't like them very much. But YOU'RE new. I think we'll have fun, alone, just us in a world of torture and gore."

You shake and shiver like a leaf. Why you? Why were you the last to suffer? Why was it you!?

"I plan on toying with you for a long time, (Y/N)."

Your chin is tilted up, those dark red eyes holding a strong desire for your upcoming carnage.

"We'll play until I tire of you. Maybe you'll win my mercy."

He then stands up, backing up. You stare at him with worry. Mercy? What good was mercy now?

"How about another game of hedgehog and cat..."

There's another laugh before he disappears into smoke.

"Keep me entertained, pretty kitty."

Once he's gone you collapse in on yourself. Tears pooled down your cheeks while you cry loudly. You were alone, left to play a dangerous game with a murderous entity. You wished the pain would be over.

This beast didn't want it to be over, however. He loved you when you suffered. He thought your despair was delectable.

You were his new favorite toy.

A precious pet only meant for him to play with.

HELLSING ULTIMATE—The summary is too fucking long but basically you can watch Big Bad & Cool Vampire Alucard kill people and it's really fun. Warning for Nazi imagery due to Nazis being the villains in the series.

DISTANT SKY—This shit is horrifying <3 Gangnam in complete darkness… "Am I the only one alive? What’s going on?…" A boy wakes up to find himself in a building full of dead people. No cars, no electricity and no stars in the sky… Not only Gangnam, but the entire city seems deserted.

SWEET HOME—I'm assuming you've heard of the show I strongly recommend the webtoon. You can think of the show as...a series based off the webtoon rather than a faithful adaptation since they changed 90% of the shit that happens in the webtoon! Anyw. I HIGHLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY recommend this shit, it's amazing, the monsters are great, the characters r phenomenal and yeah...yeah! Warning for s*icide.

DOROHEDORO—In a city so dismal it's known only as "the Hole," a clan of Sorcerers have been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious "experiments" in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they're hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they'll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of "cleaners" into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.

BERSERK—Surprisingly not a frequent horror recommendation? Lmfao... His name is Guts, the Black Swordsman, a feared warrior spoken of only in whispers. Bearer of a gigantic sword, an iron hand, and the scars of countless battles and tortures, his flesh is also indelibly marked with The Brand, an unholy symbol that draws the forces of darkness to him and dooms him as their sacrifice. PROMISED NEVERLAND—...If you haven't read or watched it trust me on this. Watch Season 1 and then read the manga. If you only watched Season 1 or saw S2 and were disappointed...read the manga :).

BONUS: GOLDEN KAMUY—Phenomenal story, amazing artwork, hilarious, amazing fight scenes, very rich in knowledge & history etc....genuinely amazing I 10/10 recommend this, u see how I gassed it up? 💀 Its also homoerotic 🤷🏾‍♂️ It makes it on the list because of the horror elements in the manga. So, since it's OC day and I'm gonna be posting some stories later, here's a quick Ref on my OCs, Lyra and Mack! Please be aware I've had Lyra MUCH MUCH MUCH longer than Mack and she's much more finished/polished. Enjoy~

Lyra:

She's the Purple Ninja and the Elemental Master of Song! She can create music staffs and use them as ropes and ladders, hear better than most, and create optical illusions. She mostly uses her powers to distract opponents on missions. She uses songs about/based off of video games and sings and dances to do so, and uses her powers to create scenes/special effects to make it look legit. (Wouldn't you be confused if you were suddenly standing in the middle of a furby ritual? XD) Her powers work 10x better when she uses songs with lyrics than without, and they're easier to control when she uses calm and quiet songs (something like Dying in La by P!ATD), and gets a tiny bit harder to control when she uses loud and chaotic songs (something like Monster by Skillet)

Backstory: Her mother and father couldn't take care of her so they adopted her into a dysfunctional home nearly a month after birth. Quickly, not being able to stand the pain of losing his ONLY child, her father committed suicide and her mother ran away, after losing her husband and daughter. (She doesn't have any memories of them). Being born with depression and getting anxiety at a very young age, and since everyone in her household was constantly fighting, she only really trusted her younger sister, but then ran away and became a ninja to get strong enough to protect her.

Backstory: Is Lyra's younger sister, but isn't a ninja. After Lyra ran away, she was heartbroken. She wouldn't come out of her room for days and basically isolated herself for a while. But then she remembered that she had to be strong and kept believing her sister was still alive. She found Lyra on the internet and has been almost stalking her for years now. Her parents got devoirvced and she has been living with her alcoholic dad because no one else could take care of her. Her dad got arrested for drunk driving one night and, since she legit can't stand anyone else in her family, she ran off. She now lives with Lyra and the Ninja

(Like I said, Lyra is I've had Lyra for a lot longer than Mack, so she is a lot more polished. Please excuse the horrible backstory for Mack, I'm working on it)
