let the hater out i wanna see the 6 paragraphs about snw

it's just BORING. crucially. like i'll start an episode because i'm like 'okay maybe this time... it SOUNDS like a fun premise. spock antics! horror! cartoon crossover!' and it still manages to so boring that i don't even finish the episode. if i watch a show and get mad, it still gets credit for the fact i sat there and watched the whole thing anyways. but snw i'll be sitting there like... why bother? they are not going to do anything surprising, or that makes me think after the credits roll, or that sticks with me because it was particularly funny or clever or new.

the snw/lower decks ep was almost a bad move because it was so refreshing to see boimler and mariner to the point that i'm like why am i watching a show about these other people who just say things like 'wow... THAT was weird' or '... what's... happening now?' and it's like for the love of god. you are in space with aliens. your life is weird and i need you to get freaky as hell to match up with it. like tng had some real nerds on it and they were still fucking weirdos. riker and troi's vaguely open relationship where they are soulmates who aren't dating exactly. data is doing stand up with the bartender who is immortal maybe? worf is resolutely boring but he is also embroiled in KLINGON NOBILITY BLOOD FEUDS! picard's bald ass stuffy french shit he loves tea and horses and hates children and also he was STABBED in a bar fight as a rowdy ensign!!! and this isn't even the weird freak energy of DS9!!!

idk. there have been 19 episodes of snw and it feels like they've barely said anything. like it just feels like 90s trek was DENSER writing. they said we have 45 minutes and we need to see hobbies, we need to see plot, we need to see ethical debate, we need to see bizarre side characters, we need to see some weird shit. where is that. snw is spending its time rehacking the most tired romance/war tropes and dialogue that even marvel wouldn't keep
