I - What's an imagined habit/trait of one of your favorite characters? Does it have any basis in the source material?

it's funny, i don't tend to imagine characters beyond the scope of the stories i've put them in or if i'm thinking about meta, so imagined habits or traits are hard!

i guess i'll answer this one sideways, if you don't mind, in the spirit with which it's intended with an imagined explanation for why a canon thing is the way it is and then a sister-habit to a habit a character has in canon.

the first is that i think the ripper started to kill in sounders not only to keep the meat fresh, but because for a long while in surgical residency, it was the only way hannibal could work it into his on-calls.

the sister-habit i like to imagine for will is that along with fixing up motors, as we seem him doing, that he also fixes/repairs old clocks. something else fiddly and precise to do with his hands.

III - What's a headcanon you have that you think would be unpopular?

probably that hannibal and will are not particularly allosexual. not in the same way as each other, but that hannibal has aesthetic concerns, as bedelia puts it, and his greatest moments of intimacy with people we see on screen aren't traditionally sexual. clearly hannibal has, in the past, had "affairs" which i read as "brief flings," with people, given what alana says, but clearly that's not a driver for his behavior that we ever see on screen. and do i think he wants to fuck will? well certainly, in some world beyond s3, but i don't personally headcanon it as a primary driver.

i think this part of the headcanon would be the hardest sell for people. i guess a sub unpopular headcanon is that i don't think he fucked bedelia. i can't imagine why he would other than "horny and gillian anderson hot," which, i mean, i guess i can see them fucking once and then going "...........nope" and going back to being vague and pointed at each other over comically large glasses of wine.

will is probably the easier sell on this, given canon behavior that lends itself to a non-allosexual reading. he reads to me similar to the number of people who are older than me that think their way of limited or low-motivated sexual attraction is just how everyone else goes about their lives, not realizing that that is not quite accurate. not that will has that blindness--he has heightened acuity of self and others--just maybe that he feels the ease of not needing definition, even as he wants some amount of closeness, relationships, and normalcy.

who knows, maybe will is just sad and self-aware 😂
