#there is a big difference between “hey this community has a transandrophobia problem”

oh yeah and for those who need to hear it transandrophobia is not solely or even primarily kept alive by transfem people. i am kind of sick of the narrative SOME* people are spreading about that.
this isn't a problem of "transfems being hostile towards and oppressing transmascs" or "people socialized male being loud and talking over people socialized female". that is bioessentialism again. that is transmisogyny. remember that.
this is a problem of transmasculinity being erased and silenced, and many queer people falling for the narrative created by the people who erase us that we simply don't matter. queer people of any gender, any background, any label can fall for it. even trans men.
and much like how talking about transandrophobia is not a means of suppressing the discussion of transmisogyny, the reverse is true.
the point of this discussion is that there are many different horrible types of intersections with transphobia, and none should be framed as "more important" than any other. that we must all fight together.
there is ABSOLUTELY a problem of transandrophobia within the transfem community. that does not blame transfems for everything bad that happens to transmascs, nor does that mean every transfem person is transandrophobic, but transness also does not excuse anyone from being transphobic. That is the point, at least to me
so if you're fighting for the visibility of transandrophobia theory, please keep all of this in mind. it's an important fight, and we deserve to be listened to, but don't immediately jump at the opportunity to blame another group of trans people for our pain
* not most. not even many. SOME people. this post is for those some people
** also for the sake of this post, i use "transfem" and "transmasc" in a specific context. there are some people who are both, there are some people who are neither and still trans. these people's voices are just as important as anyone else's within this subject. in this context, though, these labels include those who actively self-identify as them.
#transmisogyny#transandrophobia#transmisandry#transandromisia#this post was created as a result of me seeing a reblog of another post i mostly agreed with#saying basically “ugh XY trans people are always talking over us transmascs”#and i was like uh... no that's not. No#there is a big difference between “hey this community has a transandrophobia problem”#and “all transfems are mean to transmascs because of their sex”#one is a call to attention. the other is bioessentialism and transmisogyny
