arguably the second best thing that flux did for the sontarans is making them sluts for chocolate it’s so funny
#dw spoilers#ranking the flux sontarans 1. new design looks like an actual creature 2. chocolate#it actually makes sense on some level i can't explain it but it just WORKS#as you can tell. flux ep six was the best one#everything beforehand was a bit hmmm dunno how this'll wrap up in the remaining eps but nope. happy with it.#still think ep five could've been cut almost entirely and the story wouldn't change#then again the ya/dan/jericho stuff was ALSO fun and let the story breathe. everything else? hate it. what was the point of it.#could've just had kate show up! makes more sense that internal bureaucracy took down unit for a bit and the events of flux brought it back#like I've said before grand serpent wasn't necessary for anything other than vinder's story#I do like that vinder got revenge but I still think he shouldn't have been in the other eps he adds NOTHING#with such a tight story you can't afford to have that!#that's why I was upset with ep five and arguably ep six too because afaik it doesn't seem like the division stuff will be touched ever again#and that's just wasted time. you could've had more time with vinder. or bel. or swarm and azure to make them seem a little bit more ominous#this just turned into a review lmao#I'm still annoyed about unit being set up earlier than it was shown in the show and 'oh we missed the war machines/the faceless ones'#like the invasion doesn't state that the web of fear is why unit exists. if you're gonna call back to that maybe acknowledge#what those stories actually had happen#it just. god I love unit and i love two/three's era too much for that I guess#I'll admit it. I'm a 'unit was set up after those stories because the army was in too deep and it's an international issue but british based#kinda guy y'know?#arguably wouldn't be the first time the british have done that sorta thing#division and the timeless child thing I'm less annoyed about but it did still feel pointless to include because it wasn't touched upon#quite enough for it to work it went by way too quick#division also seems like it should've been scaled back. two universe-altering things in one shorter story arc#is a little bit too much#not saying you can't do that I'm just pointing out there's not enough breathing room in the story#and even the pointless bits were stuffed full of info albeit useless for progressing the story or characters#the unit stuff? just that grand serpent likes manipulating things in his favour. WE KNEW THAT#the division stuff? only that flux is controlled and tecteun and division are in control of the universe#and like. yeah ok the flux being controllable was a little helpful but ultimately it was using things other than division
