The Disaster Lineage is five generations deep (named characters anyway) and they just CAN’T get this master-padawan relationship right to save their lives. Literally. Each iteration solves some problems and then makes some new ones. It’s not enough, it’s too much, it’s enough but in the wrong direction, it’s enough but they can’t communicate it; they’re all just a mess.

Then we hit Anakin and Ahsoka and in less than three years they hammer out a relationship with functional levels of trust, honesty, mutual respect, emotional expressiveness, security, and boundaries. And sure it still has issues but it’s leagues better than the four that came before it, and I mean any relationship that’s 50% Anakin Skywalker should be graded on a curve anyway, and every time I’m like “OH! THEY’RE DOING IT! THEY’RE SOLVING THE PARENTSIBLINGMENTOR RIDDLE! GOOD JO - oh. oh, he’s killing the kids. oh that’s not good.”
