I would love Christine if she were a worm! I would give her the very best worm life I could give! She would have a little house and a little bed just for her! I would kiss her little head every night and every morning, because I would always love her, even if she was a worm!

It was rather sudden and random when she told me, but it was still very sweet.

I... I once killed a bird by mistake. My brother was teaching me to shoot, and, well... I accidentally hit a bird. It was a sparrow, to be specific. It was a mother sparrow, I believe.

[He is now very emotional and his eyes are a bit glassy.]

I buried it at the foot of the tree it had lived in. From that day on I vowed to keep practicing my shooting everyday so that I would never miss and accidentally kill something again.

(Which paid off, I suppose, considering I am now quite the decent marksman.)

Sometimes, I forget how useful knowing multiple languages is. I was walking backstage at the Opera house and heard Carlotta speaking with Piangi, saying several rude things about Christine in Italian. I did not hesitate to defend her, also in Italian.

Carlotta was not happy. I, however, was very pleased with some of the insults I managed to say. Piangi was less so. It's a good thing I'm faster than him.
