Me: oh wow Marvel really fucked up with those New Warriors characters :/ their designs aren’t;; bad;; but they’re not good either and could definitely use a redesign and name rework

#Random ramblings #i've already seen disgusting titles on YT vids from white people talking about how they're ridiculous that one's nb and how they're terrible #designs and i do n 't know how to describe it but like;;; the titles; the preview images;; you can just tell they're not v open to the idea #of black characters (particularly the nb character) and would say something stupid like 'this is what the far left want!!#and it's horrible!!' and i ' m j u st #kujyhtdgrsfeadfghfjgukyi #that's not the problem here;;#the problems are their names (Snowflake and Safespace); the fact that you named your first nb character Snowflake and the fact that they're #called that;;; the designs are too neon and don't really tell you much about them; Snowflake comes across as a caricature AND a mockery of #nb people (Snowflake;;;; short dyed hair;;;) and the fact that a black character is named Snowflake (offensive term for black people)#like don't get me wrong; i've seen white cisgender men talk about what's wrong with the characters WITHOUT being bigoted but actually well #informed about why a lot of LGBT + POC (particularly black nb people) have a problem with these characters; it was refreshing to not hear #the usual 'nonbinary people don't exist' thing and mocking their designs and what they represent #like it's not a bad thing to reclaim offensive terms;; but i don't know;;? for a first black nb character;; to name them Snowflake;;;;#it just seems a bit;; of f ;;; plus it's not a white man's call to reclaim the term for us ;; that and idk i guess the term 'snowflake' is #still pretty new to us and i don't think we've ever used that term for ourselves before too unlike queer #'safe space' actually does sound like a dumbass but expected superhero name though XDD ngl; like on his own; that name might just work?#like still kinda o-o''' but it's not THAT bad; but yeah;; not a good call to name the first nb character Snowflake;;#but anyway yeah i'd rather much hear from a black person or LGBT person or LGBT + black person than white dude who's prolly really #insecure about not all of 'his' comics not being tailored to him - an overrepresented group - every single time :/#the story for these characters might help develop them to become more likable but generally; not a great first impression so far;;;#but idk i'm not even gonna read this comic XDD so idk why i'm rambling #like i just have a fear of what any white cishet person has to say about topics relating to LGBT characters or rights and characters of #color; because there's a lot of people who are like 'oh yeah gay people deserve rights but lmao @ nb people and also there's nothing wrong #with saying the n word even to a black person' and it just comes up during a random video @-@'' like Just a Robot is fine with trans people #but he doesn't respect or use nb people's pronouns - not saying he's white (i've never seen his face) or cishet (i'm assuming he is but yeah #could be wrong) but there are SO many times when i agree with most of a content creator's points and then they say something like 'okay but #nb people are kinda cringey lmao' or end up being lowkey racist and i'm just 'what the fuck' and it makes me really sad hyhkbuikjhfgdsdhyj #like yeah not everyone's gonna have the same beliefs and respect for some groups of people but it's still really shocking and upsetting and #i already get a ton of shitty people who go 'okay but nb/pan don't exist/is just bisexual or biphobic' 'you're not really black' 'Asian
