Character summary: Celena is the second child born within the pendragon family. Magnolia being an exception, Being part of the pendragon family means that you’ve entered the bloodline capable of wielding the 3 celestial magical arts. The three being the Moon, Star, and Sun Magics. Celena was blessed with Moon magic, but she also has an active berserker gene. This gene effecta one’s magic giving it outstanding power boosts, insane natural strength, and your 5 senses are boosted to inhuman heights. And the price for this power, is one’s mind, resulting in a rampage. To prevent these episodes, Celena wears special gauntlets on her wrist crafted by Merlin himself. This gave her control over her power and a chance to live a somewhat normal life. Except for the fact she was always taller and more muscular than the other kids. Today she is 6’6 ft tall. However, instead of crying or running away, either picked up a very large object to throw/strike people with or sent them flying with her kicks and punches. She was very close to her sister and brother. Conner always seeing her as a little girl, even though she towers over him. And magnolia never being afraid of her sisters power and looks. She also grew close with spectra, Kella and Ventus. However, the one who truly undertood her was Albert. Like Celena, Albert had an abnormal height for his age. He wasn’t big like Celena, he was rather small due to his dwarven heritage. And also had anger issues like Celena. So those two immediately made a strong bond within meeting each other. Though she had many loved ones, there is one that truly irks her. This individual is Noro Draco. Her and Noro’s reasons for hating each other are still unknown by anyone to this day. Even the titans in their infinite wisdom scratch their heads at this question. Those two names called each other, pulled mean spirited actions on each their, and even had full blown physical fights with each other. Half of the time they were injured during their childhood has been from their constant battles. The only reason they even have a slight tolerance for each other is mostly due to Albert and Magnolia. Even now, with them being apart from each other for SIX YEARS, their spiteful rivalry hasn’t dimmed. But one thing they have in common, the desire to help those who can’t help themselves. Celena is a princess of Camelot and of the Deep Forest Amazons. And if it’s one thing she learned from her families, is that you should always get involved in things some people can’t handle, even if they don’t want you to. So she decided to accept the offer Beatrice gave her to come learn at Eclipse academy and be apart of her special team. There were many perks Celena found while attending this school. She got to be close to her little sister Magnolia and closest friend Albert. The only con, Noro will be there. Though for the sake of the realms and classmates, she will TRY to tolerate his presence and Noro will try to tolerate hers. Though their friends and family know full well they’ll fail at this constantly.

Okay, long time no Esca shitposting, right?

This time about the names of the characters. You know what name intrigued me the most? Goau. Because what kind of a name is that and why would you choose it? In Japanese it’s written just “Goou”. And after years it hit me a few days ago; it was probably meant to be a variation of

João. 

Which is Portuguese mutation of John. You know, Gaean and Portuguese and all that? I’m gonna go with that. So yeah. King John.

Actually, there is a whole category of those names in Esca, I mean, existing foreign names changed up a bit. One possible reason is how Japanese warps foreign words because of not having the necessary sounds to transcribe them exactly. But I like to think they kept the misspellings intentionally. Like GRRM and his Jon, Samwell, Brynden and so on. Well-known names changed slightly to make the universe more fantasy-like. Because you don’t really want those ordinary Johns there, you want your characters to be unique and memorable, you don’t really want to find their names on Facebook (or earlier, in the phone book).

Balgus

Obviously derived from Vargas. A Spanish/Portuguese surname.

Folken 

Well, that one is hard. Volken (pronounced the same way) means “the people” in Germanic languages and as such I suppose is a rare surname used both as Volken and Folken. Of course, variations of „Falcon“ and „Vulcan“ are also possible inspirations. Or it’s just made up, let’s not absolutely disregard this option.

Allen 

This one is pretty much clear. The possible meanings for this name include “handsome” and “noble”. Of course.

Celena

Serena, and „serene“ is also the meaning.

Merle

Well, it is an existing name, too, but I wonder about the choice a little. In original it’s „Meruru“. And what I found interesting are these repeating „R“ sounds the creators chose for catgirl characters. Naria and Eriya’s names were originally „Naru Naru“ and „Beru Beru“ (see the pattern?). I supose it would be transcribed as Nal-Nal and Bel-Bel then. There are even some instances in other anime, wonder about that, lol. Maybe it should be associated with the purring sound?

Van

Here, I would not be too sure with the knee-jerk Vaughn. Mostly because it sounds and is written differently in Japanese (”Baan”). Funny thing, Baan in Arabic is a girl’s name meaning „tall & slender“, literally after a type of tree. Or a��Sikh boy‘s name meaning arrow/god’s hymns. But personally, I don’t  think either of these was intended, I mean, Google did not exist then. And „Vans“ are not uncommon in Japanese pop-culture, like the protagonist of Gun x Sword or FFXII. With a small variation, because they are both written like „Vaan“ (not „Baan“). And yet, none of them got transcribed as Vaughn either. I rather think this name was created rather than borrowed and the Japanese find it somehow cool-sounding or something...

Eries

... Which is similar to „Aria“ (Eries‘ middle name). Japanese just love the sound of that, apparently. Seriously. It’s a manga, an anime, a Japanese magazine, a Japanese singer, a Japanese company producing guitars and a couple of anime characters as well, of course. To be fair, it’s also the transcription of the name Aliyah or Alia, but I think where the Japanese first came from was probably just the musical aria. Eries itself is probably related to Elise/Alice.

Millerna

I think this one may come from “Milena”, a Slavic name meaning “beloved one” (it exists in my language as well but I think one of the reasons it’s not too popular - besides being kinda old-fashioned is it just sounds too similar to “female lover”). Mila Kunis was born with it, for example. Also, there was a Queen of Montenegro with the same name; you may find it interesting that she had given birth to nine daughters (and three sons).

Marlene

Actualy a blend of Mary and Magdalene. Did not know that.

Mahad & Chid

Mahad is an Arabic name, meaning „great“. Since they chose Arabic, I tried to find an Arabic name similar to Chid (or Shid, as it is written in original), and only found „Shahid“, „witness“ (he is more like “proof” though, haha).

Dornkirk

Only thing that comes to my mind is Dunkerque/Dunkirk. „Kirk“ is usually related to church, anyway.

Holy shot, I Had this Account for four years??

Holy geebes louise, even I am surprised by how long I had this account lurking in VAA! Four years I have been missing in this site and the fun I didn't knew I was missing. It's a shame now thinking about it. Hopefully, may be this time around I'll hang around and meet cool new people and perhaps join some voice acting projects! I hope you guys will enjoy having me as I am excited to be with you!

I don't have a whole lot of experience with voice acting. I’ve record myself couple of times and even posted a short song on Youtube about a year back. I don't have a real feedback/criticism about my voice other than compliments from friends and family. I would love to hear some from folks and even their opinions to what kind of voice I have and kind of characters my voice may be best suited for. I have a feminine voice and I have a slight Asian accent that I am desperately trying to rid off for years!

Ah, I guess I can tell what I was doing in the last four years of absence and what I enjoy doing. So basically, I was in college studying various of subjects like animation and health. I worked a bit in between the studies. I have Tumblred my way from fandom to fandom. I enjoy drawing characters and have created my own to RPs. I'm pretty active in a RP forum called RPNation, and I have joined some incredibly fun groups and meet interesting friends. I would have liked trying voicing for my characters, but it is unfortunate that the majority of character I enjoy playing as are male. I know, weird : P
