PeterMJ enemies to lovers OnlyFans au, is that anything. With secret identity shenanigans, of course. MJ is the #2 top seller on OnlyFans because of course she is, and she would be #1 if it weren’t for that sonofabitch Spiderman (freelance photography doesn’t make a lot of money, okay, and rent in NYC only ever gets worse). His work isn’t even compellingly sexy, it’s swinging-through-the-air butt shots that ride the infinite popularity wave of being a smart-mouthed twink in spandex! MJ is going to destroy him, and, incidentally, she thinks her boyfriend/sometimes photographer Peter could be more supportive of her in this.

feel like Hobie Brown is the type to never shut up, even with his dick in your mouth.
bro is either praising you to the max, ranting about his day, or just asking stupid questions for the sake of annoying you, knowing you can't answer without deviating from his own pleasure, which he also knows you hate to do
the consistent little smirk on his lips can't be helping either...
[just a thought...]

The fetishization of Hobie Brown
Tumblr media
Side note: This post is not intended to start up the age discourse that surrounds Hobie. I am not going to get into it as this argument/debate comes up every so often and really doesn’t prove anything on either side you are on. I’m not dissuading anyone from absorbing any content of Hobie and saying it’s problematic EXCEPT for the things I’m pointing out in this post. If you see Hobie as a minor, that’s fine. If you view him as an adult, that’s also fine. Until the directors come forward and confirm his canonical age I am not going to bring up the same facts that is brought up whenever his age comes to discussion. This is just me bringing up a reoccurring issue I’ve noticed that doesn’t get too addressed by the community (and when it does it’s often pushed to the side)
The fetishization and inherently the oversexualization of Hobie Brown is not only problematic but also harmful. Black men being fetishized has been going on for decades since slavery times. I’m not going to go too deep into the history but if you’re interested this creator has a very good video discussing it.
With Hobie Brown being a darkskin black man that is part of the punk scene and comes off with a “rough” exterior you’re going to have people put stereotypes on him. Despite how he’s portrayed in the movie I’ve seen people headcanon him as this cold person who wouldn’t care about his partner’s feelings or come off as a womanizer that sleeps with a lot of partners without a care in the world. He fucks rough and is aggressive while the reader is this innocent person pulled under his spell. That’s where some of the problem delves with him being portrayed as this aggressive and sex deviant who doesn’t care about his partner(s) feelings. It’s a stereotype a lot of (mainly non black) people see black men as.
Despite the fact that Hobie in the movie shows to deeply care for his friends, even going as far as helping Miles who he didn’t even know up until now. He’s shown to be gentle when handling Mayday. Yet people still want to paint him as the polar opposite.
Tumblr media
Take Miles G for instant. I’ve seen him get the same treatment with him being painted as a “gangster” who is aggressive and your typical gang lord despite him only having five minute screen time. While yes from that little time he does seem to be the much colder version of Miles Morales painting him out to be a thug goes into that dangerous fantasy a lot of people see black men. People (again mainly non blacks) view black men as this dominant and powerful man who is always aggressive in and out the bedroom.
Tumblr media
The same can be said for Miguel who even the screenwriters have written him as “animalistic” and “feral”. Writing him off more as some beast than a human being.
Circulating back to Hobie there’s nothing wrong with finding him attractive the problem delves if you’re headcanoning him or viewing him as your stereotypical “hood” boyfriend who is deprived of any other emotion except for anger, jealousy, or this sex god who will beat up people for even looking at his partner. When we make these harmful stereotypes about black characters it starts to trickle down to irl and how we view actual people.
Tumblr media
And we end up seeing shit like this on the daily. I don’t even have to explain why this is problematic.
All in all Hobie Brown is much more than just a pretty face. He’s a young black man living in an oppressive fascist society that he’s actively fighting against. He deserves to be treated more than just a sexy conveniently attractive guy but a much more complex character who’s backstory in atsv is still a mystery. If you’re just gonna sexualize him 24/7 and not see him anything outside of that you’re weird, and you’re even weirder if you headcanon with “he’s ugly but he got that big dick 🤪.”

Not sure if this counts as an unpopular opinion, but while Gwen and her dad’s reconciliation scene was absolutely beautiful and I wouldn’t want it any other way, I DO realistically think that Gwen’s dad doesn’t deserve forgiveness with no strings attached.
Tumblr media
Obviously he loves his daughter- he gave up his career for her- and yeah, I love that! That’s great! But because Gwen is his daughter, Gwen is going to have this inherent need to just forgive and forget any wrongdoing her father commits. The desperation in her expression and tone during every scene in ATSV with her dad when she’s begging him to understand me says it all:
Tumblr media
For a time, her home was no longer hers. It wasn’t safe for her to be there. She wasn’t welcome. Of course the minute her dad opens his arms to her again, she’s going to look at him like a savior even though he’s the reason she had nowhere to go in the first place, leading her to join Spider Society. As a firm believer in the validity of the trans allegory of Gwen’s ATSV arc, I’m going to use comparisons to the queer experience. If someone rejects your identity, there’s nothing to be done about it, nothing that can undo it—that will always stick with you! Gwen is always going to wonder when the other shoe is going to drop and she’s out again, because if it happened once, it can happen again. She might forgive her dad for everything, but she’s never not going to live in fear thinking it could happen again.
Tumblr media
Long story short, Gwen’s dad needs to sit in the corner and think about what he’s done. His daughter was homeless and rejected and that’s his fault. Amen

Y'know what I hate?
Spideypool shippers who say "Wade would've totally bullied Peter if they went to highschool together" like it's funny or cute
Like... ???
Clearly, you've never been bullied, and never read the comics, because only someone who's super fuckin ignorant would say that shit
- bullying is fucking serious shit. I was bullied as a teen and y'know what? I still have nightmares about these people. I saw one of my old bullies a year ago during an event and I had a fucking panic attack and had to hide in another room to calm down. Last thing I'd ever wanna do is fuck one of my bullies, I don't give a shit how hot they may be, they made me feel like trash for existing, I ain't stupid
- Wade was also bullied as a kid in some comic continuity because he liked girly things. So if you take that canon, he obviously wouldn't then become a bully to some poor kid who's just trying to exist
- Wade kills abusers and assholes for a living, if anything he'd bully the bullies, not the fuckin victims. If he saw highschool Peter Parker, last thing he'd do is bully him. Fuck he'd probably just become his goddamn bodyguard if anything lmao
Like "haha wouldn't it be funny if Peter and Wade's first interaction was Wade shoving Peter into a locker" no actually that'd just be really sad

super short london slang guide !!
i haven't got a scooby doo about cockney so this is mainly gonna be mle and like the way 14 year old secondary school boys talk oookay let's go (just so yk i am a londonder!!!!!)
direct things to call people (or avoid calling people)
bruv, blud, man, mate, fam (can use in replacement of a pronoun like he, she, you and i or for emphasis — "man's got a meeting, bruv!")
more on "man" it can be used in plural too — "us man" or "them man" or "you man"
my g, my guy (for referring someone you are friendly/friends with)
bossman (something you'd call a shop or business owner — "aye bossman get me the 3 wings and chips yeah")
big man (usually used in a sarcastic friendly but kind of demeaning way, the older cousin of "big guy" — "oi big man what you sayin' cuz?"
i wasnt going to put these here cause of personal preference but 😭 people are gonna use them anyway so i might as well tell you what they mean:
peng (adjective cute/pretty — "her? she's peng!")
leng (adjective hot/sexy — "rah, he's leng you know?)
nouns
ting (usually to refer to a girlfriend but can also just mean "thing"... or a knife? — "don't chat to my ting fam!")
grim (very outdated word for a promiscuous woman — "she's a grim bruv!")
skeng (gun)
shank, spinner (knife)
paper, Ps, pronounced "peas" (money)
ends (neighbourhood, area — "if i catch you in my ends yeah")
mandem (group of friends — "having a laugh at the pub with the mandem" aha)
gyaldem (group of women / female friends)
ganja (weed)
blem (cigarette)
pagan/paigon (snitch or untrustworthy person, not a super common you might wanna use "snake" or "snitch" instead)
wasteman (someone who's useless, a lowlife)
pussio/pussyo (pussy, coward)
other common words and phrases
wagwan, or "wag1" in text (what's up, what's going on)
bare (a lot — "i got bare problems with him!")
gassed (prideful, full of yourself — "im actually so gassed, man got promoted"
"and that" (instead of "and stuff" — "i got links and that")
"allow it" (let something slide — "i forgot my wallet allow it bossman")
safe (like "alright cool", or as a bye — "aight safe")
"pattern up" (fix up, get it together)
hard, tight (cool, good, though "hard" is also used in an offensive way — "bro thinks he's hard, pussio")
blam (to get shot, not actually very common to hear in my experience)
sheffed (up), shanked (to get stabbed)
ahlie (used as an interjection when in agreement with something, similar to phrase "am i lying?")
non-mle specific words i hear sometimes
thick (dumb, stupid)
clapped/tapped (ugly, weird, unattractive)
merk/murk (kill, beat up)
slag, sket (slut)
chav (used to refer to someone of the low social status, associated with violent or rude behaviour)
taking the mick, taking the piss (being annoying)
mad (means crazy obviously but people use it a lot, can have positive and negative connotations — "that's mad!")
nonce (literally means pedophile / sex offender, do what you will with it 😭)
dickhead, bellend (similar to douchebag)
wanker (used towards someone you dislike, or in a joking way)
geezer (usually to refer to an old man)
also!!!
depending on which communities are predominant in the area, words from other languages can come in / have come in
some words are common with US slang too because they share origins 😁 ain't that cool
there's a lot of influence from jamaican patois due to the history of british jamaicans in london for ex in words like "ting" or "mandem" or "wagwan" (hence why mle is sometimes referred to as "jafrican") and its not strange to hear "bomboclaat" or "bloodclaat" here either
in communities where there's muslims and arabs (especially in east london) you might hear arabic terms like "wallahi", "khalas" or "astagfirullah" (though people debate whether that's cultural appropriation or not)
south asians have also had an influence with words like "gora" or "ganja" though again this is largely area based and the impact of hinglish is also found a lot outside of london
some people have a mix of different dialects! i mainly alternate between mle and estuary (sometimes yorkshire don't ask it is very easy to pick up...)
you're not gonna hear every single word here all the time the usage varies throughout london. the way north and west londoners speak can be v different for example
uhhhh if you wanna learn properly just listen to some grime or sutn . listen to londoners speak!
for some more resources in-depth PLEASE check out these guides made by other british people ! (one and two)
ok that's it bye bye british ppl & londoners feel free to add on! it is midnight rn so ive probably missed stuff lol... dms are open in case you've got any questions or want any help :p

Let me tell you there are people out there that think Hobie wouldn't smoke weed because doing so is a 'black stereotype'
They think he wouldn't smoke weed because he's 'too aware' and woke for that and he would never want to be dazed out and intoxicated
Let me tell you
They will believe this - even the guy has said it himself that he gets intoxicated
BY DRINKING.
AND ENJOYS IT.
And to that I say
Tumblr media
Bro why
10,001 fics of Hobie at a pub drinking it's cool but then there's a couple of him smoking some trees and it's 'hate when ppl reduce him to a stereotype 😪'
like hey buddy hey pal
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know these statistics are American but the guys from 1978 or something
let's be real here let's be ever so real
if he admits to drinking what convinces you smoking is out of the picture?? do you really think he'd think weed is worse than liqour??
The only alternative I'll accept is he's one of those people that gets anxious while he's high
Cause it's funny to think of Hobie taking a singular hit then being like 'nah bruv that shit is scaring the hell outta me 😩 fuck is my heart racing for'
Reader having to help Hobie chill out cause he got SO HIGH his spider sense started bugging out so now he's laying on the ceiling face down doing deep breathing exercises
And the reader is like 'see that's what you get for trying to hit the bong like that'

Spider Themes: The illusion of false gods or why the Spider is problematic regardless of morality
Can a cause be worth dying for? Or is it the sacrifice for the sake of something that proves the thing valuable?
Tumblr media
There’s two ways to look at the members of the Phantom Troupe, by looking at the things they do to other people, and at the things they do to themselves and each other.
Seeing how much they identify with the Spider,we can throw the theory of them just being selfish psychopaths out of the windows. Neither do they seem manic or crazy, and yet..in a way they remind us of a cult. Besides that,I’ve also found them to have qualities or the following: rebels, revolutionaries, soldiers, robinhoods, martyrs.
Despite committing so much undeniable evil, and despite them never really saying it,there’s clearly a greater good involved. This idea of something bigger is exactly what the story is subverting, and seemingly critiquing. Or is it?
It might be what makes those characters so captivating and interesting-their unquestioning devotion to the entity that is more than just the sum of themselves, what they live trough and die for - The Spider. Why would the proof of criminals like them having principles and loyalty to something be a problem? In a weird way, the Spider has an almost redeeming function - after all it’s a reason and a potential excuse for all their horrible actions. At the same time, isn’t that what makes it a bad thing? If all those people are killing because of that one cause, isn’t it what turned them into who they are now? Isn’t it what makes them do all this evil? “I wouldn’t kill for something that requires murder.” typa issue is what we got here.
The Spider as The Cause
Tumblr media
Whether the Spider’s existence itself is what’s most important or if it is still fulfilling a purpose like it did when it was created is up for debate,in fact it’s implied that this is exactly what causes Chrollo to feel lost and unable to understand his own motives. Another reason is that rather than standing for A cause,it merely stands for THE CAUSE,much like how “god” can stand for whatever a person cares about most.
We might wonder endlessly for what reasons exactly the Spiders are doing all of that, and while there are tangible reasons given in their backstory, they work just as well to represent people who are dedicating themselves to whatever, emphasis on dedication. Regardless of specific goals, there will be sacrifices, suffering and pain following whoever cares about anything too much.
The Spider as A Team
Tumblr media
Besides loyalty to an idea or principle, there’s also one towards one’s group, regardless of that group’s purpose or function. Without knowing anything at all about motives, backstories, aims, etc we can still see how seriously the members take it. It’s definitely a friend group, one that can’t afford to be a found family, even if that’s what they might be naturally gravitating towards.
The group or team as the greater good is even more fundamental than any additional purpose of said group,as it stays even when the purpose changes. In that regard the Spider is like any other gang,it’s in- vs outrgoup,a small team of partners in crime vs the world.
This “one for all,all for one” dynamic could exist outside of any broader context, even if since the start the Spider was meant as an opportunity for personal fulfilment (as we know now,it was quite the opposite)
The issue comes up when seeing how much the Spider setup hurts its members (as I discussed in the post about their utilitarian approach)
Since the Spider is a villain group,it’s no wonder it’s damaging to the people involved - why would it even be good for their mental health to kill that many people? Of course they’d make enemies and eventually die because of their dangerous lifestyle. But what would really change if they never walked down the path of darkness?
Beyond Morality
Had the Troupe managed to end up as not villains but heroes, would they risk their lives any less? Could they make a bigger change? Would the dynamics within the Spider even change,if it was a more benevolent organisation? Probably not,as there would still be a goal to achieve at any cost and a collective that’s worth more than the individual. Given that it’s taken seriously enough, none of the members would avoid “giving up their lives” anyway. No,they have to give everything up for something, and there we go again.
It’s tragic that Chrollo deemed it necessary to become a villain of all things, but had he decided to protect Meter City in a less brutal way,he would’ve still lost himself in this mission and Pakunoda would’ve followed him,all while vowing to never touch him and never see inside his soul💔🥀
The other side of the coin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^from the 1999 version yorknew opening
Of course it’s the people closest to one that are meant here(I think the song is talking both to Kurapika and Chrollo telling them to value their friends over their cause)
This theme runs all through hxh,it’s present from the very start as characters on a dangerous journey have to constantly chose between reaching their goal or prioritising the safety of themselves and the people around them.
Gon and Killua’s friendship and the fun they have together >> finding Ging
Meruem spending time with Komugi >> grand plans of world domination
Bonds between individual Spiders >> The entity that is the Spider
It’s as if the series is saying “purpose and happiness lies in the here and now,not in what is grand and unreachable”
Another thing supporting this interpretation is this panel from the chimera ant arc:
Tumblr media
The tragedy stems from human inability to “just live”,instead we require a greater narrative. It’s neither virtuous nor selfish to devote one’s life to some unreachable goal or mission, but it’s shown as irresistible,as the only way to cope with extreme circumstances.
I wouldn’t say that Togashi is outright condemning hunters,Spiders and assassins in their pursuit of meaning through extreme means, but there is shown to be great harm resulting from that.
Everyone is chasing something, and there’s really no other choice. As much as we want to determine whether the cause is worthy or not (yes because outsiders shouldn’t get away with kidnapping Meteor City’s children,no because it’s no longer about that) the actual reason the Troupe exists is because none of those kids could continue their normal life as voice actors, instead starting a life of a way different format.
There’s technically nothing stopping anyone from just “retiring” in favour of peace and quiet, but in the case of the Spiders especially that’s not even an option,it will never be enough for them.
Chrollo and his friends couldn’t have continued to live normally back then, let alone do that now,but wouldn’t it be nice?

This scene had my jaw ON THE FLOOR, and the GREEN GOBLIN SETUP?!? PEAAAK!
I understand why this immediately got renewed for two more seasons—the little details within the storytelling are meticulously woven together!
But also, I think that the animation here is raw and absolutely stunning, especially with the inclusion of blood, which is a bold move for a Spider-Man animated series. It adds a whole new layer of intensity and realism, making the stakes feel higher than ever. This sequence was so well made, literally reminded of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man too!
The action sequences are beautifully choreographed, with fluid motion, dynamic camera angles, and weighty impacts. Every punch, web-swing, and dodge is visually striking, making the fight scenes feel raw and visceral. The lighting and color palette also enhance the tension, creating a cinematic atmosphere.
What truly makes this jaw-dropping is how it pushes boundaries. Spider-Man has always been about balancing heroism with personal struggles, and this scene doesn't shy away from showing the consequences of battle. The inclusion of blood signals a shift in tone, acknowledging the brutal reality of Spidey’s world while maintaining that iconic comic-book style.
Seeing Peter battered and bruised in this scene is absolutely gut-wrenching. It’s one thing to watch Spider-Man take hits in battle, but seeing actual blood—cuts, bruises, and the sheer exhaustion on his face—adds a whole new level of emotional weight. It’s rare for animated versions of Spider-Man to show him this physically broken, and it makes the fight feel far more intense and personal.
This version of Peter feels more vulnerable, more human. He’s not just the wisecracking hero swinging through the city; he’s a young man pushing himself beyond his limits, getting hurt, and still refusing to back down. The visual storytelling here is incredible—his torn suit, the blood dripping from his face, the way he struggles to get back up. It’s a reminder that Spider-Man’s greatest strength isn’t his powers, but his resilience.
Emotionally, this scene hits hard. It evokes that classic Spider-Man No More feeling—the idea that being a hero comes at a terrible cost. It makes you worry for him, root for him, and feel the weight of his struggles. This is what makes Spider-Man different from other heroes—he gets beaten down, but he always gets back up.
This is truly peak Spider-Man storytelling—gritty, emotional, and visually breathtaking. If the series keeps up this level of quality, it might just set a new standard for animated superhero shows!
