example of what anon means:
legends: jabiim had a massive battle in the clone wars that was crucial for anakin's character development (many jedi died and he had to abandon the planet or stay, he chose to take the clones and leave)
canon: jabiim is a planet and something happened there
Ah yes, Jabiim. My most beloved Jabiim.
That particular arc in Legends makes me want to chew on drywall. Holy shiitake batman, the Jabiim arc is on another level. I think you're understating the sheer horror of it, my dearest anon.
Obi-Wan just fake died for the first time during this battle, so Anakin is dealing with the 'death' of his master.
all the other Jedi masters have for real died, leaving literally only padawans left in charge of a military champagne. The highest ranking officers of this clusterfuck are a group of newly orphaned teenagers who are all fully aware they are going to die soon.
Palpatine pulls strings to have his specialest boy pulled out, and only him. Anakin has to live with the survivors guilt of leaving these other kids to die.
Aubrey makes him promise to have a good life. what the fuck what the fuck?? They really had this teenage girl's last wish be for teenage Darth Vader to live well in her and her friends' place because they are all going to die horribly in war. And Anakin can't even fulfill that promise! I need to lie down.
Palpatine only sends enough ships to evacuate the clone troopers, or the Republic loyalists on Jabiim, not both. This 19 year old has to choose which group he is going to leave to die. I am unwell.
And did Disney use any of this? No, they didn't, because they are cowards.
#i feel like there is this small corner of fandom that is just completely obsessed with the jabiim arc#the sheer disappointment i felt when part of the Kenobi show was set on Jabiim and they didn't allude to ANY of this
