i think it's sooooo funny when people say a villain character is aromantic. like, i think it generally sucks (oh, you think not feeling romantic love = being evil? cool thanks) but also it really cracks me up. you think this villain is aro? you think william afton took a break from doing all those child murders to research queer identities? does he have an aro flag in his office? one of those little ones in his pen cup? is he going to pride? sure hes a mad scientist and a serial killer but he also, unrelated, fully identifies as a loveless aro.

#need to preserve this tag lol #i think this comes from like... a filling out a wiki template frame of mind with characters and ocs tbh #not saying this is by any means a systemic problem but it's a slight annoyance #if you have all the sexualities jotted down for your heroes then why not the villains? this is why #it's not one to one but like... if you just sort of assign a real world identity to some oversized fictional behaviors that lack intention #specifically as a metaphor of that behavior... it leads down weird roads #like if a character is possessed or has hallucinations in fiction for magical reasons and you slap on a label of a real mental disorder #just because there are technically some overlaps in concept... that can be pretty bad and weird #and when you slap 'aro' on an evil heartless character it's both pretty rude to people who have chosen the identity #and misses the nuances of their experiences #like sure #you *can* go there. and you can do the above too if you want or relate to that character on a certain level #but if some behavior is a metaphor or signifier of a theme in a story... it's not always like. usable representation #the same way that like. terry prachett couldn't use inherently silly dwarf and troll bigotry alone in jingo as a standin for real racism
