You've literally described like 90% of CPs in OI. Like you active mistreat your lover/fiancee and make it very clear that you don't want to be in a relationship with her. Yet when she finally breaks up with you suddenly you don't want!? Like what? That's literally what you wanted and most of the time straight up asked for.

It's even more annoying when THEY were the ones that broke off the relationship yet when they see their ex moving on and getting with someone, they get pissed and have the audacity to accuse their ex of cheating.

I think the worst thing is that this idiocy happens in real life too.

I’ve seen the worst cases of retuning to abusive ex as they later on end up getting on the news. I prefer not to get too deep into it as seeing the news of women getting hospitalized after returning to abusive ex, or worse

I do sometimes read it because the plot is very interesting or the art is gorgeous or when the story owns it

For example, in Please don’t kill me in this life, your majesty, SPOILER ALERT the fl’s family did actually try to commit treason and failed. They were also involved in other things. So the first timeline is understandable imo. The family is actually did something to fl too so imo they had it coming. Only FL got into the crossfire. The plot is interesting and the art is gorgeous too so I keep on reading

I also read stories that own what they are doing. I dropped this series because I hated foreheads but in The reason why Ophelia can’t leave Duke’s house, the story owns its toxicity. The same thing can be said for Lady Devil and a few more that I can’t think now

Also I have to admit some of the series I’m reading still have that toxic ML but they get a pass. Either I forgot about it, i want to see how it goes (though later on I drop it), or I turn off my brain
