Me, emerging from the notes app, headphones tangled around my neck, hair matted with dried blood as I cough and drag myself across the room with broken fingers:

#emmett speaks #the punk band guys asked me to put lyrics to a song they'd already recorded #do you KNOW how DIFFICULT it is to put words onto an already completed song that FIT with the changes on a 6 syllable count!?#and when the SECOND GUITAR steals the most prominent melody line at the exact point when the singing usually begins????#oh dear GOD I hope they like the lyrics #there were some ... creative choices that I had to use to maintain the rhyme scheme and the theme I'd set up #and all with no direction #just a “do your thing man”#hopefully things are easier if they like my stuff and we collaborate in the future with some actual back and forth give and take etc
